Snow White - school can be very stressful - when you're feeling the urge to eat, eat, eat, try to make yourself go out for a walk or a jog for 15 minutes. You'll come back with some energy and feeling better I bet. And maybe then you won't want those snacks as much.
Gabrielle - congrats on nearly reaching your Halloween goal - that's awesome!
Now that the Halloween Challenge is done with, I'd like to commit myself to this challenge, because I love challenges, and it's really all I ever want to do - make goals and hopefully get to them! So, I'm going to be working hard to get into the 160s before Thanksgiving. For a total loss of 5.5 lbs, which is a little on the small side, but, heck, tis the season of treats and that food is EVERYWHERE, so I'm trying to be a little honest.
Gabwill & Jenicra - thanks for the support you guys! I'm still not in the study mood (but are we ever?!) Been eating right the past two days and todays a whole new week so I'm optimistic again.
Hope everyone is doing good on the challenge so far!
Today I am modifying my goal of 170 to a more realistic 165. I don't want to set myself up for a feeling of being a failure. So here we go I have 24 days! I hope I make it, I am going to try my darndest! and hopefull day light savings on my side, I can actually make it up in the morning to go hit the track.
well I did good today and ran 30 minutes straight... a new high with me! I am proud of my progress so far. Loving running and it even increases my lost which is even better.
Doing great today - tons of exercise today (and I'm hoping to squeeze in some weights later on). My calories are a bit low, but it's early so I'll just have to make sure I have a substantial snack later.
Well, I haven't been losing weight for this challenge -- just maintaining. I really need to get in gear. I have been at the same weight for a very LONG time. I'm starting again strong this week -- hope to have a loss to report next Monday!
Well I just missed by Halloween goal and that makes me even more determine to meet this one. I can do it!
SnowWhite-I have a hard time with studying and eating to. My favorite choice of snack is popcorn. If it's done right it doesn't have to be fattening, its filling and crunchy and will last a whole study session and keep me out of the kitchen looking for other stuff. Plus, if I am studying at school I can make up a bag and take it with me. Just don't forget to drink lots of water. Jenrica's advice is really good too. good luck on your exams.
I am going to check out a gym today after work. Hopefully they will give me a week free so I can try it out. I am really determined to get more exercise. i don't have many friends in CT(boo hoo... well, they all stayed in NYC after college and I went home to connecticut), and my boyfriend works nights most of the time so I have some time on my hands after work. I have had a gym membership since i was 16, so I miss it. The one I am going to check out is only about five minutes from my house. I grew up in the boonies so I always had to drive 30 minutes to get anywhere and now I am so close to everything, it is great. I was comparing the gym membership idea to the idea of buying my own elliptical machine, but I figure the gym is a better idea because it gets me out of the house.
jdogg - just wanted to say congrats for maintaining. maintaining is something to proud of as much as losing!!
well I just realized that I may not make this challenge since I have 6 lbs and tomorrow it will be 3 weeks away. I am going to work my tail off to lose these lbs but there is no gaurantee. I did do my intervals today though. All together 5 miles and I will be doing my situps once the little one is in bed since I can't take her trying to play on me while I exercise. It really doesn't help me out at all.
gabwill, you have a plan and that is half the battle, follow through on the plan, and way to go girly.
I'm also with you, I can maybe lose 5 lbs in three weeks, but it's going to be with a lot of hard work. I have lots of excuses already...school work etc. But I really need to hit this goal...just so I know that I can do it. You know?
well, bugger. i won't be making this challenge, unfortunately. after the halloween candy we had in the house (9 bags of it) , i had several over a week period and then stopped. but, it *did* do damage. so, i am just gonna keep on going till the 25th and see what progress i made.
Sorry to say that I won't me making my goal of losing 7 lbs either. Been yoyo-ing because of a bunch of overeating days so I'm only 2 lbs down. Good news is that I've been back on track for the past week now and I'm hoping to stay in that mode. Hope you guys are doing good.
Time for me to fess up. I have been eating terrible and getting pretty much no excercise for about three weeks now. Nowhere near losing weight and have been avoiding the scale for over a week now because I didn't want to see what damage I had done. I kept telling myself I was going to get back into it, but knew I wasn't serious because I still kept avoiding the scale.
I finally took the plunge and said I had to stop myself now before things got worse. So as of today I am back again (mentally here this time as well). I got on the scale and found out the damage was only 3 pounds. So I revised my Thanksgiving Challenge. I want to lose those three pounds by then.
