ZoesMom raises a really valid point about the habit thing, it's actually something that I heard on the biggest loser BEFORE I started my weight loss journey, and it has really stuck with me. Also true about falling out of habit. As much of a fitness junkie as I am, even if I go a smidge too long without a workout it gets me a bit of track and I have a harder time doing the "unfun" workouts.

Hoopty - Sorry to hear you are not feeling well :(. Try not to stress about the comfort food, we all have our off days. I'm sure you'll be back on track in no time if you are already feeling motivated to hit the gym.

Heading some of the advice above, I jumped right back on track today. I posted my most recent progress pics as motivation to keep plugging along (see link in signature). Now that I'm a little further into weightloss, I am going to be a little more flexible in the times I eat however. I'm pulling my calories down to 1200 to get these last 20lbs off (well, for now - my ultimate goal is to be able to workout without a shirt on so who knows when that will be :P) so it just isn't realistic to do 3 meals and 3-5 snacks anymore. So I'm focusing on just eating till I'm resonably full, and then not eating till I'm hungry again, except when it comes to pre and post workout fuel...that I need to continue to be strict about. Anyway being more strict with my calories, but more lax in the times I'm eating and whatnot has made it much easier thus far, so hopefully the scale rewards me.

Hey ladies!

ParkTrot - Oh my Goodness. I just checked our your pictures and I am seriously impressed by how much you've already lost. You're a very, very pretty girl! :) I can tell that you feel much better the way you look now than you did back then. Sending you a big congrats-hug!

BeachBoundSC Welcome! :)

I'm feeling much better now though I still have the sniffles. I had another not-so-great-day yesterday :/ Ate way over my calories and didn't get to workout. On top of that, the roof of my mouth hurts so bad I can barely eat or chew anything. I hope it's not due to my wisdom teeth coming out but rather from the few bags of Kettle Korn I had a couple of days ago :( It literally hurts when I even take a sip of water. Unfortunately, I can't go to the doctors here since I don't have insurance or money so I'm just gonna have to stick it out :/
Today's my weigh-in. However, I'm not sure yet if I'm gonna hop on the scale or if I should wait until next week. Ugh.

I will head to the gym in a few hours and I'm gonna substitute my meals for smoothies today. I hope that pain will go away soon :(

Have a great and healthy day everybody!

So far my weight is up 15 pounds since January. I just finished my classes for graduate school and finally find myself taking steps to check back into the challenge. I took my official “before” pictures, since this is my all time heaviest. I also signed up for 2 local 5k races (one is next Sat). I started the couch to 5 k running program today (even though it downpoured and I got soaked). I hope to complete 8 total runs before the first race. I decided to officially start a strict diet on Sat. Thursday is the last time I will see my dad for 2 months so I plan on drinking a beer with him tomorrow. Then Friday is my last night out with the girls. Then on Saturday it is salads and chickpeas (no matter what!).

I need 2 perfect weeks to lose the initial whoosh for a Memorial Day party on the 25th. Also my clothing situation is getting dire and I do not want to buy any more clothes at my current weight. After 2 good weeks I should be down a size and some old stuff may be wearable (crosses fingers).

Even though I gained so far, the checking in each week at least stopped me from ignoring the scale. As stressful as these last few months were, 15 pounds is not that bad. I just feel grateful that everything got done and I got the result I wanted with the school/career stuff. I now have until late August (when I move) to really focus on my weight. I noticed that at this size I feel tired all the time. I'm excited to get back in the game.

Riestrella

Can you add me back to the chart please. :)

ParkTrot 05-09-2013 05:02 AM

Hoopty - Thank you so much!!! :). I definitely feel a whooole lot better now, as you stated. I was barely able to function before. If you're having a lot of mouth pain, definitely try to avoid anything too acidic in those smoothies! I twill irritate it even further. Hope you feel better ASAP.

Scarlett - School is a killer, and I think you're handling the weight very well. I'm only down 4lbs since January (gained back 7 from my low of the semester once I go super stressed out) so I feel your pain. Just remember summer is almost upon us!

Diet today was kind of cruddy - damn it! But I did get a beast of a workout in...15-12-9 Rep count of 75LB Thrusters and pull-ups for time, 5 minute rest, and then 150 walking lunges with a 14lb med ball for time. All I can say is holy smokes my poor glutes...they were trembling afterwards! Going to be more strict on the calorie counting tomorrow.

Scarlett 05-12-2013 04:16 PM

Parktrot - Thanks, I guess we're both slowly getting back on track.

I am having a harder time of it than expected. I thought that once school got out it would be diet ninja all summer. It's difficult to go from zero to sixty overnight. I'm just trying to get back into the diet mindset. I keep having to remind myself to not pick at the food at work. I'm starting to get back into planning my day around when I can work out and planning for food shopping and preparation. If I could put a really good week or 2 together I'd probably be good. Slowly but surely.

Hi everyone. I'm copying this from another thread as I'm too lazy to re-write the same thing with different words, sorry!

I've been hugely off track again lately and don't have time to catch up. Hope you're all doing well!

I started fresh this morning, been gearing up to a 'new' start for a few days so I feel ready for it now. Good job, as I forgot to weigh on my home scales this morning, and when I got to the gym I'm ever heavier than my all time-high of a couple of weeks ago. I'll weigh on my home scales later, but obviously it won't be as accurate as first thing this morning.

So I'm really trying to stick to a healthy eating plan, work out like crazy and shed these unwanted pounds. I'll try to get on here more often too to stay accountable. Here's to a good week!

ChickieBoom 05-13-2013 01:55 PM

I definitely slacked off last week. I was feeling really down and couldn't muster the energy to work out. I stayed on plan (for the most part) with my food but I didn't exercise at all. But I'm going to Nike Training Club tonight and I've got Bikram yoga on Wednesday...maybe I'll even squeeze in a run tomorrow.

Scarlett 05-13-2013 03:39 PM

The good news is I am down 4 pounds so far this week, even though my eating hasn't been perfect.

Other than that it feels like the universe is conspiring against my weight loss efforts.

I drag myself out running for the first time in a few months, it downpours while I'm on the trail and I ruin my ipod.

Then I accidentally ruined the upstairs carpet and have spent my spare time the last few days tearing it up.

This one is the best! Last night as I'm about to go to bed and someone crashed into the front of our house. It was 12:30 am and I hear a squeeeel....CRASH!!! This was some Billy Joel type sh*t. His car was 4 feet in the air in the rock garden/island in the front of my parents house. With the window completely smashed and glass everywhere. It was 3 am by the time they got the car out of there and I couldn't fall asleep afterwards. Then at 8 am in the morning there was some sort of construction on my block.

I also am STILL waiting to get my final grades to find out if I am graduating.

#9? Wow! That's exciting! This has been a bummer week because I've been sick...only one pound...but I don't weigh in here till Tuesdays so I have 12 hours to lose a little more lol

summerkate83 05-14-2013 10:39 AM

Hi Ladies! I'm sorry I've been missing lately! I've still been reading some of the posts, but school just got the better of me the past couple weeks! Then I walked at graduation (I finish in the summer), and my sister and nephew were here for a week, then both me and DHs family was here for a couple of days. It was totally crazy! I feel like I overindulged a little, but the scale is actually slightly down. I think it's from running after a toddler all week-that kid has spunk!

Riestrella-Would you add me back to the chart please?

I may try to do some personals later, but I'm so far behind that I'm not sure! Hope everyone is doing well!!

Ms A 05-14-2013 06:11 PM

Hope it's not too late to join. Since there are only a few weeks left, I am going to try to lose ten pounds. :)

Hoopty 05-15-2013 11:36 PM

Whoop Whoop - back down to 139.6 lbs! :woohoo:
