Default 12 Weeks to Take Off!!!

Our thread got closed so I started a new one. I'm just going to re-post last week's stuff to get us started.

I'm not adding new people to the charts. It's a 12 week Challenge and we're well into week 4. If we end up doing another chart challenge I'd love for you to join us. I'm very sorry. Please feel free to post/hang out here for support though .

junebug41 - I really appreciate you letting us keep this thread in the 20-somethings forum and not moving us to the challenge forum. I like it here alot better. Thanks .

It looks like this strategy is working for you. Congrats. PS I can't drink and stay on plan either. An added benefit is I kicked my drunk texting problem.

That is not a problem. Thanks for telling me. I'm so jealous, one of my New Year's Resolutions was to travel somewhere outside of North America. I've been looking at South America trips all year, but my financial situation hasn't been cooperating (I still have time though...). My new avatar is of Mount Roraima in Venezula, a mountain I'd like to climb someday. The thought of being able to do outdoorsy/Adventure stuff like that really pushes me though my runs. I can't wait. HAVE FUN!!

Buttercup85 - I haven't been having a great week either. I'm currently down 2/10 of a pound. Hopefully the scale moves a little by Wednesday. Unless it's really bad I'm going to just suck it up and post on Wednesday. I have my 5K on Sat and will be eating a few extra carbs this weekend. I'd rather save the extra day for next week.

Thanks scarlett! I won't be weighing in this week as I'm going away for a few days but will be back next week!

I go out and drink only once a week max. I have a few friends who get a few beers after work almost every day so once a week is actually great. Never got really hungry while drunk and I always drink stuff mixed with diet sodas or just water. Not the best thing in the world but I never drink diet sodas so I guess a few here and there won't hurt. But I think I will cut back soon. As I get closer to goal it's tricky to lose fat and I will have to make some changes I'm sure.
But I can say that I admire people who don't drink because of diet. It's not that I like getting really drunk but if you don't drink you are kind of automatically the designated driver or 'that sober chick' at the party.. I don't know. It's kind of sad really. How us young people can't party without alcohol or drugs. At least in my social circles..

Red face

Why was the thread closed?!
I'm so glad I found the new one; I almost had a heart attack! LOL! I'm at work trying to be good and needing some support/inspiration , only to find my support system / source of inspiration on lock... does things to me! LOL

I got a glowing job review; the second great job performance review since I started working here. I am on cloud nine and I have not been able to come down. I'm even more ecstatic that I did not reward myself with food! Now if only I could get some more work done so I don't mess up!

Fassgal - I'm pretty sure the thread was closed because it got too big. They close the threads once they reach a certain size, I guess so that there aren't 100+ page threads that never go away clogging everyone up.

congrats on the job review. The last job I had didn't do job reviews. You literally had no clue if you were doing well or were a mistake away from getting fired. It drove me mad. It looks like you're having a great summer, losing weight AND kicking it at your job.

Blondie160 - I saw your post, it's not a problem

Thanks Scarlett! I worked for a company like that once; I'm so happy I'm no longer there.

This is the Bing photo of the day. I was really wowed by it (my new desktop) and thought I would share. It's a pic of the Chile volcano taken 6/5/11

Also, I've been feeling like I expect myself to be at my 30 lb goal in August. I'm wearing my size 16 shorts because I know they won't fit soon (they're loose now). I've also been making comments about my expectations to my family. They've seen me running every day, cooking eggs in the morning and know I'm down 10 pounds already.

Today my Mom was going to Motor Vehicle to get her license renewed. I wanted to go with her because mine expires at the end of September. She thought this was a bad idea because I'm losing weight. By waiting I would have a lighter weight to put down and a thinner looking photo. I thought it was kind of cool that my mom wanted me to wait because she really expects me to be at 185 by the end of the summer. It's so great the people around me are now expecting me to reach my goal too.

Wow! I didn't even realize you could fill up a thread. Good on us!

Buttercup85 - You still have a couple more days, you can do it!

Tahnee - Have a great trip!

Fassgal Congrats on your review. You seem to be on a roll!

Scarlett Love that photo. It's strange how something so threatening can be so beautiful. Also, love how your family is so supportive! They don't even think to doubt your plans, so why should you? You're doing something, why would they doubt it? Even if you don't make it by the end of this challenge, you're going to get there. I'm believing that of myself this time around too, and it feels great. Glad we're both feeling so confident!

I've been doing well this week. Took up a challenge with someone here to complete the full 30 day shred (I've only ever used level 1). So far that's been super challenging, and I've actually had to take a recovery day due to muscle soreness -I literally couldn't wash my own hair - haha! Darn those push ups! The scale's not looking too exciting yet, but I'm still hoping for that three pound loss. This time of the week is crunch time for me.

Hi everyone! threads are closed when they reach 500 posts. (some 3fc policy) so yey! we chatted a lot!

as for me, im at 227.5 almost couldnt believe it this morning. tom left, and gave me a nice loss this week

were planning a mini vacations, just DH, DD and me. beach front hotel. splurging a little, but we havent been on vacation since before i got pregnant, so over 2 years. im dying to go somewhere. i just want to sunbathe and veg out! were leaving for the july 4th week. im hoping that i lose a little more bc im NOT biniki ready in any way. i tried on the bathing suits i have from last year and it was bad! after breastfeeding my breasts need more support than the bathing suit has. a bunch are too small and i got the belly overhang! which i never had before i got pregnant, even at this weight, i had a fairly flat belly. now i have the post baby pouch im thinking i need to buy a one piece, with a support bra and a skirt thing? hope i find somthing soon, and not expensive bc i dont plan on using it for long....

have a great OP day!

I'm not either. My back pain has gotten worse so I've still been unable to exercise (and now hardly sit or move) for 2 months. I went to a specialist yesterday so tomorrow I'll see what exactly is going on with my back. The doctor said it sounded like sciatica. All this frustration was leading me to stray from my diet and so far this week I have gained almost 2 pounds.

However, there is always next week . Maybe I'll be on the path to eliminating this pain and losing some weight.

buttercup - me either!
khat - i know!! last wknd i went out and i told myself i would not be drinking and that i'd only have a diet coke or seltzer buttttt i gave in and ended up having a cranberry vodka (of which i only had half, so i guess it wasn't a complete fail)..but i get what you mean regarding hanging out and mind altering substances :/
fassgirl - nice job
scarlet - cool pic and i def agree with your mom!
ish - gluck with the 30DS!
aggie - vacation sounds funnnn...and as for the bathing suit, try on a bunch n see what u feel comfy in, i personally loveeee skirted bottoms with a bikini top. They're sooo cute
do the robot - diet and exercise will definitely help with the sciatica and probably even eliminate it...i had it once before and losing weight def helped! Also, do special lower back stretches and exercises (i recommend the piriformis stretch) youtube them

not really looking forward to tomorrows weigh in...havent been studying for the past 4 days b/c i've had guests to entertain...and so i've been eating reallly bad dinners and deserts the past 4 days (pasta, chocolates, ice cream, brownies, white rice--what was i thinking, cheesy nachos, potatoes---you get the picture) I woke up today feeling sooo sick, nauseous, tummy ache, if i see or smell any food i think i'll vomit..and I ate wayyyy too much yest, never eaten that much before and i think thats what's causing me to feel like this today...all i've been able to stomach so far today is some black tea and low cal gatorade...i feel sooo gross on the inside and i look like i'm 5mo prego with my bloated belly so sorry in advance if there's a gain this week, hopefully next week will be better

cat eyes-Everyone has those weeks, you are not alone! You are doing awesome and one week will def not ruin your weightloss!

Khat-that is so true. I went to trivia night last night with some friends at a bar/club and when I told them i wasn't getting a shot they were persistent on my drinking-I eventually said fine and that i would go order the shots-so i got 4 vegas bombs and one water shot so it just looked like i was having straight tequila. nobody bothered my for the rest of the night about it. but it is so strange how people drinking just want everyone to partake!
