Weighed in at 149.5 today. Thank goodness. I've been stuck at exactly 150 for 3 wks or more!!! It's not a big loss, but it's a step in the right direction for sure. :D

Krizstyling - I will attempt to get a third day of strength training then! :) Although I have such a hard time motivating myself to strength train. Cardio is never a problem for me. I actually really like cardio cuz it relieves a lot of stress. :) But yes, like I said before I have a huge fear of losing muscle mass because I feel like I already don't have that much to begin with! And thank you again for your advice :)

Sniperhil - I am pretty much eating anywhere from 1400-1600 calories a day depending on how much I workout. The only distinct meals I eat are breakfast and dinner. I usually graze throughout the day at work, that way I never feel like I am starving. I'm eating tons of protein though, like anywhere from 80-105 grams/day which might be too much, but I feel full when I eat protein so I'm doing it. Here's what an average day looks like for me:

Breakfast: Fruit & Veggie smoothie (which i'm about to make a thread about!) 350 calories

Dayfood: 1 pack of Tysons grilled & ready steak strips (both servings!) 280 cals
2 pieces of Arnold's whole grain/nut bread 160 cals
1 Kelloggs coconut caremel fiber bar 130 cals (taste like samoa girl scout cookies!!!) :)
1 vanilla creme muscle milk (after workout) 170 cals

Dinner: 1 packet of quaker dinosaur egg oatmeal (cuz i'm a dork) 190 cals
1 serving of open nature 4 cheese/whole wheat tortellini 280 cals

Hope this helps/gives you some ideas! It's still painful for me seeing as I'm only at the start of week 3, but I have stuck to it. Good luck! :)

I tacked on an extra .25miles to each run for a total of 2.25 miles. I did it again this a.m. and like it. Yay!

On the downside though, my calves are getting bigger! weird. Oh well, maybe I'll lose some weight now! I've been stuck for awhile. I'm with xNani and need advice for busting plateaus!

Yes! We definitely need to figure out a way to bust out of those wretched plateaus! xD

and xNani, I am 5'4 and I'm currently eating anywhere from 1500-1700 calories a day. 1500 on days I don't work out, 1700 on days I do workout. MyFitnessPal tells me I should be eating 1200 when I don't exercise, but I think I'd stroke out if I ate that few calories a day! I know as I lose weight i'll probably have to cut calories as my weight decreases, so as long as i'm not plateauing, I might try to stay around 1500-1700, BUT if you have any advice/suggestions/experience, please share it with me! Like I said, any advice is much appreciated :)

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll lose 2 more lbs on my next weigh in. I'll probably scream when I see 145.0 on the scale. BAHHHHH

I screamed when I saw a one as the first digit instead of a two!

Anyways, hey if that's working for you stick to it. Eventually you might have to lower the calorie intake, if or when you do, try cutting out some of your day snacks (take your time on it, it's not an easy thing to get used too). If you think 1200 is low try the diet I'm on, then you'd really stroke out. My diet consists of two main meals breakfast and dinner (before 6pm :P) I either have a cup of orange juice with a fruit in the morning or a simple cup of coffee, and for dinner it's either steak, chicken, or fish with a salad or some kind of vegetable. I've actually gotten used to it and I'm not hungry as often, and when I do get those cravings and bend the guidelines a bit, I don't end up eating much because I've reduced the size of my stomach.

Now when the weekends come around, that's a different story my breakfast's can either stay the same or get a bit bigger for example I'll have pancakes (my fave!). Now, I don't binge and have like four of them, maybe one and a half but I plan them into my daily intake.

Exercise-wise, I'm so lazy when it comes to it, BUT I do exercise. Since I live in Florida it's even harder, the weather here is unpredictable. On those days (like today it's pouring outside!) I'll workout indoors (lunges, running in place, crunches etc.) anything to burn some calories. When I do have a chance on the weekends I love to go cycling, it's very peaceful riding around in the park with your ipod plugged in. If I had a pool I'd swim all day everyday if I could (my absolute favorite sport in the world!). Since these things are limited to me, I have no other option than to stick to my "workout" (if that's what it's called? Lol). If you have any suggestions exercise-wise feel free to pitch them to me, I know exercise is key to losing weight as well as calorie intake, everything and anything is much appreciated.

WOO! You can do it! That's awesome, I hated that feeling though...seeing the same digits week after week. I would get so sad, but I learned that when you do get stuck it's because you gotta change something. Whether it's foods you're eating or whatever you're doing for exercise, either eat a little less or workout more. I feel you on those plateaus! They SUCK big time!

Lifehouseluver

Thanks for posting "a day in the life" of your diet. Seeing what other people are eating gives me ideas for changing up my diet. LOVE muscle milk! I drink the chocolate one though. Too scared to try the vanilla bc if it's nasty then it's wasted! LOL! 1400-1600 sounds like a pretty sustainable number to me. I need to get myself back on track and count my cals more strictly. I am at 149 today though, so that's a plus!! :D

xNani

Thanks for the encouragement!! You're right, the constant need to tweak your routine/diet can be rather annoying but necessary to keep losing.

Okay, I'm months behind on this thread, but is there room for one more? :halffull:

I'm at 154 and on my way to 140 as my initial goal. There are no excuses this time!

SJtangerines 08-15-2011 04:17 AM

Just weighed in at 153.8...

I lost ALL this weight a few years ago and gained it ALL back...but the lowest I got was 150.0...I never could see 149! I was just dying to see 149...this time I'm doing more strength training, etc.

I've amped up my workouts and am being more strict on myself as far as food...we'll see what happens! Ready to be OUT of the 150s!

sniperhil 08-15-2011 09:38 AM

Mindymoo12

I just jumped in not long ago. This thread seems very relaxed and welcoming to everyone who wants to jump in. :D so, welcome!!!!

SJTangerines

the 150s are soooooo hard to get thru. I just got out of them and it took me 5 months! NO JOKE! Idk if it's bc my body was already used to a reduced cal diet and didn't want to give up the weight or what. Welcome to the thread! :D

SJtangerines 08-15-2011 04:56 PM

Ugggh not what I wanted to hear! :( ;)

I think before, because 150 was the smallest I had been I got reeeeally happy there and didn't feel too much of a need to keep going. This time I'm driving through them, so hopefully we'll see some progress here soon.

Thanks for the welcome! Good to know that it is, in fact, possible to do!

size8 08-16-2011 02:24 AM

Finally weighed in at 158lb yesterday after being between 160-165lb for the past few months. I am happy and hope to get more weight loss...

Hard work + commitment + perseverance = results

Good luck ladies...

You are very welcome! I've always told that to people who ask me how I've lost so much weight. :)

luciddepths 08-17-2011 07:30 PM

just popping in... still sitting at the same :)

Meredith 08-17-2011 10:20 PM

I have been stuck for two weeks between 155 and 153.8...I can't seem to get it any lower then that! I have switched it up in the past two days doing more outside activity workouts then gym workouts. Hope that helps.

SJtangerines - We sound a lot alike. I have pushed down to 150 - 152 many times but never see that 149! This time I am going to make it happen. If you want a little friendly competitiveness I will race you there :)

SJtangerines 08-18-2011 10:20 AM

Meredith -
