I am going to have no life all week. At work today and then will be spending the rest of my week at the library I think. I am sooo behind with my work at the moment!
I was just talking to my dad on the phone and he was like hows the gym been going lately? And because I am sick I haven't gone in a while so I said how I'd mainly been sitting in front of the fire trying to get study done (its cold here) and he goes well as long as you haven't been sitting in front of the fire eating chips. AGH WHAT DOES HE THINK I AM!?!
I haven't lost this weight by doing that. I think he thinks I still have these awful habits that I used to have and it really got to me. Probably more than usual due to the current time of month but agh.
It frustrates me. They try and be supportive but its always oh you're doing so well, nearly there etc. When I was at my lowest it was always yea shes nearly there. Never hasn't she done amazing.
bex - parents can be rather thick. so can siblings and friends. it's no body's business whether you're eating chips or not - the fact that you're over that habit is beside the point. maybe just be firm with him next time and say, this isn't up for discussion? your comments aren't helpful, I have this under control? I'm sorry people are making you stressed
free - exciting, moving in with the bf! and congrats to him on the job. I totally feel ya on the housewifely type activities - I am moving in with my bf this weekend actually, and am totally looking forward to it for the same reasons. And not being in a long-distance relationship anymore. That part will be awesome too
Weekend was decent eating-wise though I haven't officially been tracking. I need to get on that. Had a nice talk with the boy about what I need to do for myself, he's totally supportive. We have a plan of attack for once I move down to be with him, and in the week remaining here I am going to focus in on restarting my healthy eating habits and get some exercise too.
Bex - I agree with abluvion, you may just have to let your dad know that his comments hurt you somehow. I was a chunky kid (though still in a healthy BMI for my height) and my dad BET me $100 I couldn't lose ten pounds. I was about 12 years old at the time so had no control over what was purchased in the house for meals and my mom generally cooked good meals for us anyway. I think my mom went after him (they were divorced) for his stupid bet, which I didn't realize at the time was so inappropriate and cruel to offer a 12 year old. Thinking back now, though, he wasn't open to helping me in any way except to make me feel bad about being chubby. So don't let parents, who probably mean well but don't seem to show it, get you down! You know you can do this and you'll show him that your old habits have died and you've picked up new ones! You wouldn't have lost 22lbs if you hadn't changed your habits and it's a shame he can't see how hard you're working.
abluvion - How exciting! I can't wait to move in with him, I wish I was doing it this weekend too! LOL. We live about an hour apart now so we only see each other on weekends or holidays. We've been together almost a year and a half and originally went to the same university (he's still there, I moved to a different one to do my masters). How far are you moving and you are moving into his place to be together or getting a new one? From where I am now, our new place will be about 3 hours North and will be new for both of us so we're going up in June to do some flat-hunting. I'm glad your boyfriend is supportive and willing to help you out when you move in together.

Weighed in this morning at 153.0 so down exactly one pound. I saw 152.6 earlier in the week but I always eat the most points on the weekend so why my weigh in day is a Monday I have NO idea! But determined to eat well this week and then spend some flex points on the weekend again.
Happy Monday!

Reason: Spelled abluvion's name wrong! Haha sorry!
Hey, congrats on the pound! Excellent Do your Monday WIs help you feel accountable on the weekends? If it helps you stay on track a bit, then it may be a good thing!
My BF and I are currently 2.5 hours apart, so we've only gotten weekends as well... I'm moving down to where he lives now. He's in the Navy so he can't exactly leave the ocean, though I prefer my mountain setting... It'll be worth it though. I lived in the area when I was a kid so it will be a return of sorts. He's in barracks right now so the move will be new for both of us. I'm incredibly excited about it... dreaming of paint colors When we were apartment hunting we walked around the neighborhood a lot and talked about how we could see ourselves running by the waterside together, hanging out in the park nearby, etc - so it bodes well for an active future. This is going to be a good change. And my boss is letting me take my job with me til I find new employment (tho he doesn't exactly know I am looking), so I get to maintain my income as well!
I just want the move part over and done with. Oy. Still so much packing to do!
Yeah, folks can be tough to deal with from time to time. Just keep going and get your studying done. What are you working on, Bex?
And that was pretty harsh of him, Freedomreins, .
I've got a pair of pals coming down from GA in a two months, I'd like to be out of the obese range at that point and it is starting to look like I'll make it and maybe a little more, . My mother and sister have commented that I look a lot better, but I can only see a little change. Crazy how we can barely see it in ourselves sometimes, , but it does change (and I can tell with how my clothes drop in size and the old ones hang).
'Bout a year for one, probably 3-4 years for the other, and last year for the rest!
I just seem to keep moving further and further away from them, and I really need to swing back down there and catch up. I'd help if we were all on similar schedules though, 'cause we sure aren't!
I just moved into the Master Bedroom of the house I am renting at with a pair of other roommates, and I have to say, having a bathroom to oneself is fantastic! Now I know what I was missing all these years of sharing, haha!
zan - oh your friends are totally gonna notice a difference if you haven't seen them in so long! it does take a while for our own eyes to catch up - funny, when I last lost 30 lb I couldn't see it in myself, but I sure can see that I put back on the 30.
As for paint colors - we have a chair rail in the dining room so we want to paint one color above and one below - we're thinking of a dark brown on bottom and a light blue on top. I like that combination. The LR is going to be a warm red... kind of a brick red, not primary, but a little orangey. We have no plans yet for the 2 bedrooms. At least, that's how we're thinking now... could change at any given moment
bex -
So yesterday was supposed to be my first real OP day, and it didn't turn out horribly. For some reason after dinner even though I was full I kept eating toast and peanut butter. I counted the points for it, and went 6 over my daily points. However, I did make myself restart the 30 Day Shred, which I haven't done since February - and man I'm right back where I started, feeling way out of shape! It did earn me some APs though so that helped counteract the -6 I ended the day with. Anyhow, it was a babystep in the right direction if not a picture of perfection. Today's a new day!
Sounds like you made out alright, Ab. WPAs should help with that peanut butter toast too! Congrats on the Shredding.
Yeah, there's a room in the house I am renting at painted red. It has a sharp orange tint to it during parts of the day. I used to have that room, and I was starting to wish that the landlady had went with a more primary red, . Of course, I'm the crazy one who would go with a nice dark red more so than a warm red/orange color. I've got an oddly green room now. And she picked an weird brownish/tan color for the LR/Kitchen/bathrooms, and a strange yellow/tan for the other bedroom. Not really descriptive, but yeah, the colors just seem off to me.
You've just got to go with the colors that make you happy! , though I think she might have to tone it down quite a bit if she wants to sell the place like she was talking about. It could make a difference.
Just popping in to see what's up. I was super on-plan yesterday, bought some nice healthy food and took the time to prepare a dinner made of recipes I hadn't tried before (two from the WW website, veggie samosas which were excellent and spicy Italian chicken which was pretty good too). I always feel great about this new lifestyle when I do that!
Congrats on the pound bex!
Speaking of paint colours, my mom and stepdad built their last house and so got to choose what colour went in every room. They picked brown for the living room which the builder cautioned against but everyone who comes in loves it! There's so much light in there because of all the windows that it doesn't look dark at all, so I agree with zan, pick the colours that make you happy!
I love brown and blue together as well abluvion. We probably won't be able to paint our new place because we're just renting it and we will both (hopefully) have full time jobs so probably won't have time anyway, but I am looking forward to a few years down the line when we've paid off our loans and can buy a house and do whatever we like with it!

I lost .4 of a pound this week. It's kind of discouraging even though the tracker tells me that on average I've lost 2 pounds a week and that's a good thing. Must have read that article on slow weight loss three times already.
Last week I was trying incorporate other recipes from other places but portion sizing gets really difficult. I'm not really sure if I'm eating too much or eating too little. I've started taking classes at the gym now that it just opened after being closed for two weeks. Yesterday was a weight lifting class that kicked my butt.
My plan for this week is to buy another food scale (left teh one i was using at my mother's house) and a measuring tape. I'm noticing a bit of a difference in the mirror so I guess tracking measurements will help me get more encouraged. Also to really keep track of portion size and try to keep my points as accurate as possible.
Sounds like a great plan rayosun. A loss is still a loss - you're going in the right direction! Was the gym closed to put in new equipment or something? What other classes are you considering taking? My university offers spinning and pole dancing and yoga etc, but I have such a random schedule that changes week to week so I never felt that I could take advantage of them in case it meant I had to miss a class I'd paid for, or miss a class for my degree!
The gym closes when there are no classes. So it was closed after the spring semester and stayed that way until the summer semester started on monday. The gym is "free" (although I think everyone pays for it when paying for classes) which is good and there are so many classes that I probably won't get bored for a while. (a lot of them are in the evening and most of my classes this summer are in the morning so it fits well).
I took a hip hop aerobics class on monday (and learned I have no rhythm at all , weight lifting on tuesday. Today I wanted to try kickboxing but I think I might do the hip hop aerobics class again since it was at a good time and I want to get better at it before jumping into something new. Thursday is something called Dance Party but it was either that or Capoeira and from what little I know about the latter, I don't think I'm ready for that.
EDIT: I had to go to the bathroom and I went and weighed myself again and now it says I've lost a pound. Hee, I'll take it.
