  • zan - A loss is a loss, well done!

theresa - I love Stephen Fry too. We were the 10th audio boo as well (heckelphone, if you saw the post last night on Twitter) but I'm disappointed we missed out on the 100th show by just one taping! They had Jeremy Clarkson there, and I really like him too!

jpg - Welcome to the thread!! I make 'normal' meals from magazines and things (my boyfriend got me a subscription to BBC Good Food which is sort of like the Rachel Ray mag except without Rachel Ray) but use low-fat alternatives or smaller serving sizes. One of my favourite lunches is a hardboiled egg, chopped up finely, mixed with a tbsp of light mayo, a squirt of lemon juice, and some dried dill, and spread on ryvita/melba toast equivalent. It's only 2 points for the egg salad.

bex - We had some gorgeous weather and then it got cold again. Argh! Unpredictable, rainy England! At home in Alberta, Canada, they got snow yesterday and it's supposed to be summer time! They were in the low-mid 20's like two weeks ago. Canadian weather is absurd! Hope you're keeping warm!

abluvion - If you're doing well on your own, skip the meetings! I've never been to one and though I see the appeal of them, I can't afford it, and I'm doing fine on my own. You seem to be doing just fine as well - save the money and buy yourself a nice dress or get a manicure or something at your next mini-goal

Well, I weighed in this morning as I'm away this weekend. 151.4! I have sore muscles from lifting weights yesterday so I suspect I'm retaining a little bit of water too. I haven't been 151-something in probably about a year so this makes me very happy! I thought I'd be stuck at 153-154 forever. It's still less than a pound down from last week but considering how poorly I ate on Wednesday, I'll take it!

    Have a great weekend everyone!
  • JPG, welcome! There are a ton of recipes on this site (WW > WW Recipes). I also use the recipes on the WW website, and then a new site I found yesterday: EatingWell (you'll have to google it, since I can't post links yet). You can also google WW blogs, there a few really good ones out there.

Anyway, welcome back on the wagon!

Bex, I bet it's just starting to get chilly there. :) I live 6 degrees north of the equator. Hot weather all year round! Except today--it's rainy and miserable. Boo!

My husband went out to visit a client up country a few days ago, and came back with about 4 dozen bananas. They're much cheaper to buy in villages than in the city. So now I'm trying to figure out some healthy banana recipes to use up 50 bananas before they go bad. :)
  • I am staying at my parents house for the Memorial Day weekend and I've noticed a lot of fruits, veggies, yogurt and other things in the fridge. The last time I went home my mom learned that I was doing WW again so I think that she wants to start losing weight too. Very cool.

What isn't cool is the 5-point a piece chocolate chip cookie tin right in front of the fridge. Friday is a horrible day for me because if I'm lucky I eat once and I don't get to eat again till about 3 o'clook due to my summer class schedule. And I didn't get home till about 7 so I hadn't eaten for a long time.
I see the cookies and I know I have about 16 points the spare and the sushi I'm eating is barely going to dent about half that so I take a 3 cookies thinking that it would be about 6-9 points. Well now I know how many points they were worth and those 3 cookies pushed me into the weekly points. This week is really the first week I've even touched those since I started. But I had days this week when I was off the plan in the other direction. I was hungry but I didn't want to or couldn't eat. I know it's stress from an overambitious summer schedule but wow, I need to figure something out fast. Looking into meal replacement shakes.
  • Happy Tuesday all. Monday holidays make for a nice weekend for me! I rather miss being off, , Haha!

Well, Friday is my brother and sister's birthday. I'll probably just take them out to eat, as it is easier than to try and figure out what to get them gift-wise, . Then next friday is my Dad's birthday, and father's day is 20th and my best friend's B-day is the day before, so yeah, insanity!

Oh crud, I have to pay rent today!

I think I've lost track of the world all of a sudden!

I hope you guys are having an easier time with June than I am!
  • Hey ladies. Sorry I fell off the face of the earth. I got super sick and was not able to move. :S Two ER visits later I am feeling better and tomorrow I will be doing my first workout post sickness.

So Congrats to those that lost and keep on keeping on everyone else!
  • Lackie Are you ok!? Goodness me! Great to have you back.

Zan Sounds like you've got an expensive time ahead of you. May is my bad month. Sister, like 5 of my best friends and mothers day. Gah. Its my bfs birthday next week. So excited Party this weekend. I have stayed away from the Why you shouldnt consume alcohol thread haha..

rayosun Thats so lovely of your mum to support you. Makes a big difference when you know you can encourage someone else. And meal replacement shakes are actually really filling. I did it for a while. If you think you can stick to it it might be worth a try.

    Freedom Yay for your loss!

theresac I know a few of the ladies at my meeting talk about just freezing bananas and eating them frozen as a dessert. Apparently its like having banana icecream. Havent tried it but its supposed to be amazing! Or lots of banana smoothies. Or maybe find a low point banana cake for a treat?

What happened to the June WW thread? I posted in there and now its gone
  • Hi everyone, shall we move over to the June thread?
  • I've caved to temptation!!!

... At least this doesn't have calories!
