  • Ah I am not really a nut fan so that's out for me. I like making 1-2 point dessert things like cookies and muffins (found a great oatmeal chocolate chip cookie that comes in at 2 points per cookie, and I use the banana chocolate chip muffin recipe on WW which is 1 point per muffin) but I haven't felt like baking for a while. And I'm waiting for my bananas to ripen so I can make banana-bread.

I went to the bathroom again and turns out that I lost afterwards. I think I will just hold off weighing myself until I go because this is the second weigh-in where there was a drastic difference between before and after I went.
  • Alright, .

Well, I just snuck a leave slip on my boss' desk. I was all sneaky-ninja-like about it... okay, well I waited until he was in the garage, But I am looking forward to a four day weekend as soon as that slip gets approved! w00t!
  • freedomreins, that samosa recipe sounds great! I'm going to pick up some phyllo dough this weekend and try it.

I recently started WW after waking up one morning and realizing that I'm smart, driven, ambitious, and going places. And it was bloody stupid that I couldn't apply the discipline I apply to the rest of my life to getting healthy.

Turns out, it's a little bit harder than that. :-P

Anyway, I'm slowly learning to resist temptation, control portion sizes, and eat healthier! It helps to have 3FC as a support group. Y'all are so inspiring when I start wondering if I can keep at it or not!

I hope you have room for one more fat-*** in this thread. But that's why hanging out on the Internet is better than hanging out in town. Don't have to worry about how many will fit in the back seat!
  • Bah! I didn't have any butt at my highest weight, and I sure don't have one now!

    Welcome, theresac!
  • I went to my second meeting yesterday and lost 2.8 pounds. I had just eaten dinner about and hour before the meeting so maybe I actually lost more?
  • You probably did, Stellar, congrats on the 2.8 lbs!!!
  • Congrats on the loss stellar!

Welcome theresac, it's always great to have more people in this thread! The more the merrier!

Yesterday was awful. It included a good breakfast, then a sandwich and a snack, then another sandwich, and then at 11pm some McDonalds on the way to the coach station. Appalling! I did at least resist the ice cream my friends were having but aaargh I'm just going to try to be really good this weekend and hope that I can balance it out. We went to see a show called QI being taped. I don't know if anyone has heard of it unless you're familiar with UK television but it's hosted by Stephen Fry and it's sort of like a quiz show except it's a comedic one. It was brilliant, I loved it! It was totally worth four and a half hours on a coach, two half hour train trips, not sleeping in my own bed for a night (I do like my own bed but pretty grateful a friend said she'd put me up so I didn't have to spend another half hour on the train in the same day), and three hours waiting in line. LOL. At least the tickets were free.

It's a long weekend here this weekend! Woo!
  • Sounds like you had quite an adventure, freedomreins! Sounds like you had fun!

Well, despite my worries, I had a small loss at WI yesterday. Down 0.2 lbs, and still stuck in the 220s. Ah well, I am still happy that I had a loss, and I will be doing a lot better this week, seeing how there are no full weekend of visiting friends planned. Though I might just have to do one night so that I can pickup my cellphone charger. The battery is going to die, .
  • zanheltangia, congratulations on the weight loss! Something is better than nothing, and definitely better than no change or gaining.

freedomreins, I love Stephan Fry! So funny! Also, he's on Twitter, and I love that. He tweeted me once. I swooned. I'm sure you'll be able to balance out the calories from the weekend this week. Either way, I'd say Fry is totally worth it.

I'm having a hard time getting up early to exercise. Yesterday, while trying to do one of the Spark People's 10 minute exercise videos, I discovered that my body is no longer flexible to do squat thrusts. What?!?! When did that happen?!?!?

Anyone else run into unpleasant surprises like that when they were first getting started? All of a sudden, I was confronted with the hard reality that I'm even more out of shape than I thought. Yikes!

On the plus side, I found smoked turkey in a grocery store yesterday (like many Western foods, very hard to find here in Cotonou), which means SANDWICHES! Turkey, green apples, and dijon toasted on (*cough* very very thin slices of) a crisp baguette?!? NOM NOM NOM.
  • Hey all. I'm new to this site and was in search of support! Just started weight watchers yesterday on my own (have all the materials because I've fallen off the wagon more than once )
  • JPG, what matters is that you are trying again. You know what holds you back or makes you want to give up from the other tries and this time you can better plan to deal with those problems.

I recommend starting small and slowly making changes, it's easier to stick to then. It's a slow process, and it's hard to deal with that some times, but if you keep working at it you will get there.

  • Thanks zan. I just know I need to change and this time I'm ready and fully committed. Does anyone have any good ww meal ideas? I'm sick of baked chicken lol!
  • Welcom JPG! I've done WW soooo many times before. Sounds like you have the right attitude this time. Good luck!

I guess its getting warmer over there for you guys?
It is FREAKEN freezing here. I have 4 layers, a blanket and the fire going and I'm still cold. I'm trying to write a massive report. And its not going very well lol.

Watching Oprah, its a really old episode (we're like 6 months behind) and its about a place where people try and gain weight and being overweight is sexy. Gosh damn sign me up :P

    Hugs to all!
  • freedom - sounds like a great time! don't beat yourself up too much about the McD's, it happens, and you were traveling. Count it and move forward.

    Suh-weeet! It's a loss! Run with it!

Oh man. Every time I restart exercise I'm faced with how out of shape I am. When I restarted the 30 Day Shred I couldn't even do the full 2 minutes of cardio in the first circuit. Talk about disappointing.

Quote: Hey all. I'm new to this site and was in search of support!
Hi! Welcome! Check out the WW section here on 3FC, there is a menu/recipe section that will give you good ideas for recipes. Chicken gets borrrring quickly. Beauty of WW is you can basically eat anything... Just count the points.

Where do you live? Everyone I've been hearing is talking about how hot it is. Weirdo

Well things are going ok here. Yesterday was a bit of a food fest but I think I came out of it OK... We don't have a whole lot in the house, I just kept going back for snacks. And damn fudgecicles. Silly boyfriend, bringing fudgecicles into the house... TOM starts today too so I'm going to avoid the scale for a bit and see what happens. Tomorrow is supposed to be my first "official" WI but I didn't take TOM into account when I set that date, so I will just hang out a bit. I was going to start going back to meetings starting tomorrow... But I'm doing so well here on my own I'm hesitant to spend the money. Maybe when I start losing motivation I will join the meetings again, they help keep me on track. But since I'm not having trouble with that now it seems like a waste.

We got all our paint and will be painting this weekend. We have green for the office, yellow for br/hall/lr, and the blue/brown for dr. Friend's coming over with a ladder. She's struggling to get on WW and stay there so it'll be nice to spend some time with her and try to help her talk it through.

Well, back to work. Later taters.
