~Memorial Day Challenge~
 
Hi everyone! :wave: With the First Day of Spring Challenge coming to an end, I thought maybe some of you would like to start a new challenge. Since Memorial Day (Monday, May 31) is pretty much our unofficial first day of Summer I thought that might be a good place to end up. If anyone is interested please join!! Hopefully with each other's support and encouragement we can reach our Summer goals!

I'll start:

SW: 160.5
GW: 149.5

Goal: Lose 11 lbs and start/stick with a workout routine

Even though I hit my initial weight loss goal last week, I'm still reassessing where I want to be when I've ended the weight loss period. Currently I'm thinking mid-130's, but we'll see, I'm definitely happy with some places on my body, but my stomach still needs to lose a few! I'm going to try for 140 by Memorial day! :)

toesock, I didn't quite make my Spring Challenge either but we can do this!

mkendrick, lblazy, and Pink, I hope to be joining you ladies in the 140's by the end of this challenge (at the higher end but still). :)

smisen, great job on maintaining for those months! I did that as well (although mine was for about 6 months) but I'm back in gear now too since Jan so we can do this!

What day is everyone's official WI day?

And does anyone want to share what workout/diet plan they are following? It looks like you all have had tremendous success so far!

My "official" WI day is Monday even though I weigh every morning. And I am currently counting calories trying to stay around 1500-1600 but I think I might be lowering that to 1400-1500 soon. As for exercise, I have a 16 month old that I run around after. I haven't added formal workouts yet but I plan to soon!

My weigh in days are Fridays. I am counting calories , staying between 1400-1600. I have cut out added sugar, and have switched to whole wheat or whole grain wherever possible, but I have yet to cut white flour completely. I jog 2-3 miles a day when it is nice, or walk 3 miles on the treadmill ( I hate jogging on the treadmill) and do strength training every other day. I have been losing from 1.5 to 2.5 pounds a week so far with this plan , so I am sticking with it for now.

-- i'm going to reassess this goal weight later on in a couple weeks.. i'm in another challenge for the end of april to be at 182.. but the end of may is 2 weeks before I head off to GREECE! i'm going to visit my family, and I want to be thinner than i've been! plus i'll be in a bikini at least 75% of my time there, so i thought might as well look my best so i can feel comfortable!!
-- if i make it close to my 182lb goal for the end of April, i'll probably try to lose another 10lbs before the end of may to get myself to 172lb!

I'm in!

CW: I think 145 pounds

GW: under 140 pounds... maybe around 137? And stay there (not go lower than 135 or higher than 139) until Memorial day if I get there early. So, in a little over 2 months I'd like to lose between six and ten pounds.

I always feel like I know how to lose weight, but I end up getting too excited, eating too little or exercising too much, losing weight quickly but unhealthily and feeling like I am torturing myself after a while of that, and rebounding and rebelling by stopping all healthy behaviors I had gone overboard with (ie healthy eating and exercise)! So, I am trying to go as slowly as possible, and NOT go to extremes. As long as I am sane and treating myself well, I will be happy.

My plan? Making sure I get 45 minutes of some sort of activity in each day, and eating according to my calorie needs... which according to the internet is about 1650 if I want to lose a pound each week. (so trying not to eat too far over or too far under--if I eat 2500 calories one day... I eat 1650 the next. If I eat 1000 calories one day... I eat 1650 the next. If I try to compensate for days over or under, I'll end up overcompensating. I know this from experience.)

I'm in!! :D I was just writing down my exercise schedule through then since I am doing my very first race that day!! A 10k so I'm gonna be a running fool the next couple of months. I lose super slow so I'm going to set my goal as oh...lower 140's somewhere...lets say 143 :)

My official weigh-ins are on Sunday, but I do weigh myself daily (or hourly depending on my mood, lol). My goal is 155 but I may change that in a few weeks depending on what my numbers are like. I turn 28 mid-May and I'd really really really like to be in a 'normal' bmi range by then (158 lbs). Hopefully I'll make that goal but if not 155 is even better. :)

Hi All! I'd like to join this challenge too! :)

I'm aiming for a 20lb loss as this challenge is 10 weeks long and I really want to try my hardest to look better for the summer :)

AndreaMarie, I think people usually post their weights on their own official weigh in days, you can post more or less often if you want.

i usually post every couple days, when i have a change whether up or down! i also do post on my official weigh-ins, but it's all up to you when to post :)

Well I didn't make the Spring Challenge, so I'm gonna sign up for this one...; ( I'm still at 180! I haven't lost any weight in exactly 11 days. 11 freaking days! My weight flucuates 1-2 pounds but it typically goes back down to 180 lbs...funnily enough it never goes under 180... I'm trying to moniter my calories very strictly...going for 1400-1600 cals, but I hate doing that, its annoying to me. ; (

Anyway for the memorial challenge:

Chipmunk, I know how you feel it seemed like no matter how hard I tried my weight loss always stopped at 160, never 159. But if you stick with it I know you can see 170's, calorie counting is sometimes tedious but worth it when you start to see results!

Official WI day and I'm down 2.2 lbs! Not exactly sure how that happened but I'll take it cause this is the first time I've seen 150's since high school!

-- soo yeah... i had at one point hit 189... but then it went back to 190 seeing as my last couple days i haven't completely gone off track, but i binged one night, and last night my boyfriend treated me to ice cream (i was having a bad day w/ family) so i did it.. i don't regret it. after today i hope to see the one pound loss and get back to the 180's! and if not today, ill see it by wednesday :):)

I'm totally in! I want to focus on losing 10 pounds, which would put me at 146.6 on Memorial Day.

As for my plan, I am trying something new this week that I hope to stick with: no processed foods, no chemicals, no crap. Everything organic and natural. In the words of Jillian Michaels "If it didn't have a mother or come from the ground, don't eat it." I am not going to be quite that strict, but I did go out and buy organic versions of the foods I usually eat. I also want to focus on eating more fruits and veggies. We'll see how it goes.
