Yeah OC, NJ and OC, MD are two totally different places. OC, NJ is a cute, quiet little town.

Hoboken isn't *that* bad. Its got more bars per mile than any city in the world - its actually in the Guinness book of world records - but its a fun place. There are many different kinds of bars, and they have cute boutiques. Its also very walkable (the whole mile of it). My favorite place to go there has odd age limits. To get in you must be 23 if you're a girl and 25 if you're a guy - it gets rid of a lot of the riff raf (ie those who are really 16 and have a fake ID) and its generally a good time. One of my really good friends lives there and most of the girls I went to highschool with have now moved there.

HaleyisLove 12-08-2009 11:08 PM

23 and 25? thats pretty funny... I would be able to go in January haha

but I like the idea that guys have to be 25 to get in... guys any younger are jerks

stellarosa27 12-08-2009 11:11 PM

Yeah, its a fun place - there's dancing, etc. Whenever we go we always wind up making friends with girls lol.

Hey guys im getting so frustrated at this site lately!!! Im so behind on sooo many threads and I cant seem to catch up because I keep getting those page load errors!! Is everyone else still having this problem or is it just me?

forestroad 12-09-2009 12:13 AM

Oh no, I got behind...it's like quicksand. Musings: I have actually heard Hoboken is actually pretty cool now. My dad grew up half in Stone Harbor and half in Bryn Mawr PA, but his grandma sold the family house there and left the money to charity. I grew up going to the Outer Banks, rather than the Jersey shore or DelMarVa (though I did those occasionally too). I looove Duck and Corolla. The beaches are the best- they are so clean and not too crowded and the surf can be really really good. The water temp is just right--not too hot (like SSI where my parents go now in GA) or too cold (like up here in VT--I live on a river that comes straight down from the mountain and runs through my backyard, and there is a swimming hole and even in high summer you never get used to the water).

ETA: Icon, do you live in Devonport? Your photo of the beach looks really familiar :)

Air81 12-09-2009 01:42 AM

Rebecca's hair~ Agreed terrible decision on her part, but that's just me. I liked her as a brunette!!

Air81 12-09-2009 01:45 AM

I'm so starving right now but should be sleeping so the starving tummy will have to wait for my 7:30am apple and then potluck at 12:30...yes bad bad thing I know. I have planned my cheats, yes they are cheats right now, wisely and know what I will cheat with and what I will not be eating! I LOVE to plan so this works for me.

On a side note, one of my teacher friends at work, finds something new to disapprove of about me each day AND something to punch my self-esteem about food or exercise or anything. She is so jealous of my weight loss and I should really just tell her she is jealous and should get over it or try to lose weight herself (I've lost 44lbs total :))She is an 18 and loves fast food, but AHHHHH don't pick on me cuz I'm doing something! Should I say something?

No but I live relatively close to Devonport. That's takapuna beach :)

Pammy- im not getting any issues with the site anymore :?:

Air- I would just ask her to stop with the comments because it makes you feel bad, and if she doesnt then stop hanging out with her :) Although it is tempting to make stabs back

Who is rebecca?? And what is wrong with her hair?

Sanna Maria 12-09-2009 06:08 AM

I wish I had MTV too, I want to know what those Guidos are all about!

Bee20nine 12-09-2009 08:40 AM

Ghost: I agree I have no idea who rebecca is and I dont know whats up with her hair.

Well ts 830 and I am hungry. I keep sipping on water and its not helping at all. I brought my normal 10am snack but I might have to break that puppy out early.

So breaking up is so freaking hard. We were gonna do the the whole When Harry met Sally thing. I told him I need space right now but that I wouldnt mind being the whole friends thing. So we texted last night to each other but it was just different. So this morning he hasn't texted at all and I keep checking my phone like every 2 minutes because thats what I am used to. :(

smisen 12-09-2009 08:53 AM

Bee - Hugs! It's hard, but he might not be ready to be friends yet. I tried to do that once with a long term ex-boyfriend and it didn't go well - I needed some time to separate friend from boyfriend and I wasn't able to do that when we were still trying to be friends. Just my experience, of course - yours might be totally different - but I hope you guys get it worked out :)

Uggh, I'm getting ready to go dig my car out from under the foot of snow that fell last night. The school system here is closed, the university that hasn't closed in the last 20 years for snow is closed and all non-essential government departments are closed. Why can't adults have snow days too?

Feral 12-09-2009 09:35 AM

Air - that is so cool!!!! I knew a girl that moved from South Africa to the States when we were in middle school. Her younger sister still has way more of an accent than she does.

Bee - *hugs* Just remember you have to kick the habit. You are missing something because it was habitual and you will eventually move on and replace that habit with something better for you in the long run. It's still really tough. I used to think that you could always be friends with exes, but I've found that the more serious the relationship the less likely that is. There's just too much that has passed to make it doable. In my opinion.

As far as yesterdays events... I'm waiting to meet with the principal. I hand wrote a note yesterday afternoon and left it with her. I was so mad I couldn't even turn my computer back on and email her. I had a kid get a NASTY gash on his arm from an injury in gym this morning so I'm waiting for his mom to come get him so I can sneak in the boss's office. I left a note on the counseors door asking her to please take the student to the bus today. I did write under it in small-ish handwriting that *I* had to stay until after 4:00 because he got on the wrong bus. The only thing she said to me this morning was for me to not leave notes on her door because she doesn't like that. I didn't say anything.. I about went through the roof. Maybe that was slightly unprofessional, but I was PISSED. She's lucky I don't go in there and tell her how I really feel because i would make her feel about 2 inches tall and she wanted to go play in traffic. Unfortunately I have the ability to verbally annihiliate people so I have to really watch myself.

forestroad 12-09-2009 09:42 AM

bee- the only thing that has worked for me is to go cold turkey. I have ended up friends with my exes before, but only after a while of separation. Out of sight, out of mind, I find.

Smisen- I took an adult snow day today :) We didn't get that much but I don't get my snow tires on till tomorrow and it's practically a white out outside. I'm just working from home till the roads get better.

Feral- good luck with your meeting. That's a tough one. I'd really want to speak my mind but I hate making waves at the office.

HaleyisLove 12-09-2009 09:45 AM

Smisen I'm sooo jealous of your snow... All we got was RAIN lots of RAIN

Everyone Rebecca was on the biggest loser... last night was the finale... she cut off her hair and looks like Peter Pan with this really ugly not even cute blonde color

Sanna haha you NEED to look on MTV.com or something and see these Jersey Shore people because honestly if you need a good laugh...you will get one

Forest I also grew up going to the outerbanks but my family has a condo in OC and we would spend long weekends there... Plus I went to college on the Eastern Shore so I spent a lot of time there... Seacrets haha
And I cant believe you called it DelMarVa haha...It made me laugh...its sad they couldnt think of better names... there is an area named Delmar and another one named MarDela... we get it people... its Maryland, Delaware, and Virgina lol

BEE The friends thing is hard... I tried it after a 3 year relationship and it didnt work... we took some time apart and then we talked once in awhile and now we dont talk at all... I took a Psych of Sexuality class that also talked about relationships and supposedly you cant get over someone unless there is distance between the two of you... which doesnt just mean physical distance... it is hard to seperate someone from the boyfriend role that they have always played and put them into a friend category... I wish you a ton of luck because I know it is sooooo hard

So I got on the scale this morning...twice...and saw 229.2 both times... I'm really excited but not counting it yet

I'm skipping the gym today and going out for a sushi dinner with my best friend :) it's been awhile since I've done something fun and grown up like go for sushi

Feral 12-09-2009 09:55 AM

Forest - Be careful out there!!!! I cannot drive in snow nor do I pretend to want to. Especially since I don't have a 4 wheel drive or a 5 speed anymore! I have a mouth on me, but I have discovered as I've gotten older I really, really don't like confrontation - especially in the work place. My mom was trying to convince me to meet with the principal AND the counselor I was having issues with and I just don't have that much gumption.

Haley - that class sounds awesome! I love psych. I've always done really well in it. I had to take general psych and developmental psych for nursing. Developmental last semester was pretty cool because it helped me realize the kids I work with aren't there cognitively. Also we learned some really neat stuff about autism because our instructor's son is autistic.

I LOVE sushi. I always get bummed because no one here will go with me (my whopping 5 friends LOL) when I want to. I used to go all the time in ATL. When I would visit my ex that was always our date night.
