I'm still not officially weighed in yet but it was 168 before. That's another pound gone and just to feel good about myself, I may pee before officially weighing in. |

I did my official weigh in about two hours ago and it was better than I expected-- 167.8!! I'll die if I can reach 165 by next Wednesday!
Rain and Echo: How the heck can you guys drink that much water?! I calculated my water intake for the first time today and it was only about 40oz. I also have an 8 oz glass after I workout. I think if I had more water, I'd be in the bathroom ALOT! |
Kurleq- I do have to go to the bathroom several times extra, especially at night! That's pretty annoying :-)
Oh gosh, today has been a terrible day, self-esteem wise. I finally told some girls I know how much I weigh (never told anyone before) and that I'm trying to lose. And I'm 162ish, and though I know I weigh more than they do, I don't *feel* that big compared to them, so I thought they'd just be like "Oh, that's nice, go for it." But instead, several of them said things like "We wondered when you were going to try to lose that extra weight", and one girl (she's a fitness trainer) asked what my body fat calculations are (they're 31%) and told me even though I may not LOOK obese, those calculations are OBESE and I must have alot of extra body fat and no muscle and I really need to fix that! Another girl (not a friend, so she might have been intentionally cruel) said "Oh, 160 pounds! My husband (aka a MAN who should weigh more than me) got up to 160 pounds after we got married, and even his relatives were saying he looked all fluffy! I don't know, maybe I was feeding him too much!" It's like, people take no consideration of the fact that I'm 5 inches TALLER than her husband, it's just the "160" that sends them all into skinny-people orbit. Then one friend (she was trying to be helpful) gave me a chart of how you're supposed to weigh 100 pounds at 5 foot and 5 pounds for every inch after, so at 5'10 150 pounds should be the MOST that I ever weigh, and if I want to be "average sized" (WHAT?) I should be around 140 tops. Then she added that obligatory skinny-friend comment that she weighed 110 on a FAT DAY, of course. It was all really, really discouraging, to find that even when people were trying to be encouraging - subtly they all think of me as some tall, large cow. :-p To top it off I tried on lingerie I used to be able to wear and looked awful! Needless to say, I am SERIOUS about this weight loss now. :-P |
Hey all, I haven't checked in for awhile... after about a month of sitting around 164-162, I weighed in at 159.8!!!! :carrot: I think I cried tears of joy!
It's time for me to move on... good luck, everyone!!! |

Rain, so many things about your post rubbed me the wrong way I literally turned on my computer to reply to you. Firstly, congrats on finally feeling comfortable enough to share your weight. :carrot: It's a huge step! Now on to the fun stuff: :hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug: Those are to make up for the hugs those other girls should be giving you! My two best friends weighed in the low 100s most of our friendships. One is 5'4 and the if 5'. I fall right in between at 5'2. Unfortunately for me, my weight was never between them and the lowest I EVER was while we were friends was 129. I've never felt like the fat friend with them. You should be proud of the weight you lost this far and keep your head up. I know I will never be 110 (which is what that chart of yours would put me at) and I never WANT to be 110. Diet and exercise until YOU feel comfortable and tell the rest of the world to f*** off if they don't like it. Remember, when you are feeling down, that everyone has imperfections. I go to my friends for fitness advice because I know it's a two way street. If they need help writing a paper or fixing a computer, I'm on their speed dial. If worse comes to worse, you always have us! I may not know you but I do know what you are going through. Here are some more hugs!:hug::hug::hug: |

what gets measured, gets done!! my trick is that i have a LARGE glass of water - about 600ml, and a straw. and i sip it whenever i am on the computer, or if i'm watching television, im just constantly sipping it through the straw, makes it easier to drink rather than gulping it down. especially when im watching tv. i will constantly be sipping it, and not even realising i've drunk the whole thing. also helps me not snacking on stuff whilst watching tv. so another bonus. yes you will be going to the bathroom alot. that is true! but interesting thing about that is that you lose fat through urination. sorry for being gross. so i think to myself everytime i go to the bathroom, i'm losing abit of water weight and fat. well thats what i tell myself!! |

wait, how tall are you? 5 foot 10? the other day one of my friends asked me how much i had lost and how much i weigh now. in the past i would never have said, but i felt comfortable and did so. then my other friend was like WHAT!, but then she quickly corrected herself and said, oh wait your taller. i cant believe your friend the fitness trainer, said that!! that's just ridiculous!!!! how the heck does she know how much fat or muscle you have!! unless you've been dunked in water, and had those calculations done, she cant gauge anything by just looking at your weight! ahh infuritates me, when people say stuff like that!!! dont listen to them! you're doing GREAT!!! and we're all very proud of you. you keep doing what you're doing and do it for you! and like KurLeq said, just figure out what your ideal weight should be based on how you feel with your body. you know what you should embrace being tall! being tall means you can weigh more and still look slim and healthy and have a higher BMR, which means you can eat more hehehe  when i was younger, i used to think i wish i was abit shorter, as all my friends and cousins were short, and i felt so tall. but now im so happy that i'm 5 foot 7 as i can weigh more and eat more lol hahahaha you're doing great!!! :bravo: |
