What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I've never been as consistent about going to the gym as I have recently...might have something to do with paying for a gym membership.
Anything else you would like to share with us: My weight probably like a lot of people's on here fluctuates a lot...I've been everything from a size 4 to a size 14 and though I've listed July 2007 as the start of my weightloss journey, that's just the time I hit my absolute (to date) max...I got down to 165, then back up to 170, now back down to about 160.
Hobbies/Interests: Swimming, pilates, yoga, watching tv/movies, reading fiction, shopping, cooking (love to watch it on tv, sometimes like to try out new recipes myself)

Starting Weight: about 250
Present Weight: 238!
Goal Weight: 125-130ish.
Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: sticking to an exercise routine.
Following any specific plan: no, not really. taking diet supplements and not officially "dieting", since the term demotivates me.
What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I'm no longer at school, and I'm making my own money, so all the stress I used to have is gone, and I have money to buy my own groceries. a big issue with me before was that my family loves junk food so that's all we'd buy... but because I couldn't buy my own groceries, I'd be stuck eating what they bought and it never ended well.
Anything else you would like to share with us: I'm happy to have found this board; people are genuine and supportive and honest about their journeys through weight loss. it's the kinds of things I had never found before, so this motivates me to start being honest with myself about my weight and my habits.

Starting Weight:
205
Present Weight:
/
Goal Weight:

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss:
Getting started and sticking with it!
Following any specific plan:
Mostly I'm just researching and learning better ways to cook/healthier foods and modifying my portions. I've been changing up the unhealthy things I eat for healthier alternatives, and cut out 99.9% of fast food. I'm watching my calorie intake and using fitday to keep track of myself.
What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past:
I've never really felt dedicated to wanting to do it, but over the winter months looking at myself I got so disgusted and I just kept saying I'll do it later I'll do it later. Then spring came and I would have a hard time keeping up with my kids without being out of breath, and just felt so.. blah all the time I was getting depressed, so I knew it was time for a change. I've slowly been working up to really dedicating myself to it but now I'm ready to just jump in and get going.
Occupation: lawyer-to-be… studying for the bar exam this summer! eep!
Pets: several awesome cats
Hobbies/Interests: drawing and painting, reading a lot
Height: 5’8”
Eye/Hair Color: brown/blue-green
Starting Date of Weightloss Journey: It’s been a long process… I’ll say today, since I’m starting a workout plan and beginning to post on the forums.
Starting Weight: 170, but I've been higher before
Present Weight: 170
Goal Weight: 150, or whatever feels right. I don’t want to be skinny, I just want to be toned and be able to wear whatever I want without bulges. I also want to remain the same weight for the rest of my life- my mom had wardrobes in 4 different sizes, and I’m trying to own as little as is feasible, so I do NOT want to do that… I want to get to a happy, reasonable weight and stay there with no more food drama.
Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: I love me some carbs. I’m also really lazy about exercise and tend to make a lot of excuses- I need to do it no matter what. The weird thing is that I LIKE doing it- it’s some mental block or self sabotage that prevents me from starting.
Following any specific plan: I made a bracelet that I use to track calories, and an exercise chart (Couch-to-5k, yoga, and some weights/pilates exercises).
What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I’m finally out of school, and I don’t want to drag these 20 pounds of baggage into my new life.

This is my second attempt since I was here on the board..
Last year I went down to 144, but I never transitioned and my eating habits became much worse than they had ever been.. a lot of emotional eating, a lot of stress eating. Needless to say, this time I am getting some help to sort out all the stuff that has hindered me.
