they may be mandarines. we have those. i've had those. never heard the word satsuma though. well, time for workout #2 (i've been reading posts and drinking water to get myself worked up). i'm going to do another watp (the 30 minute walk/jog) and then i'm going to do tae-bo. here we go!

i was trying to talk myself up in the last post. trying to mentally prepare myself to do two dvd's in a row. guess what?! i just finished BOTH of them!!! i am so proud that i stuck with what i said i was going to do. plus, as an added bonus, i really pushed myself on the tae-bo (the second dvd i did) b/c i used to be able to make it through the whole thing and now i can't. well, i did so much better than last time. i pushed myself and made it really burn and i did everything that they did, although some of the time when they were doing "double time" i was still doing singles. but i did it!! and it felt good!!

Wow Jmb1981.. lots of exercising! I feel lazy compared to you! I really love tae bo with Billy.. he is fairly annoying... I laughed when I read that! I have done a lot of his dvd's.. his first tapes (the original tae bo) I loved and couldn't find them on dvd. So i got his bootcamp series last year but I hate those damn Billy bands (resistance bands). they get all tangled up when I am using them. My newest billy dvd I love (fat blasting cardio). I use ankle weights and hand weights instead of the bands and it is a fantastic work out. Which one do you do?

Elwing- keep up that running/walking and soon enough, you will meet your fitness goal!!!

Anti222- well I hope things are going well now for you and your fiance!

It sounds like everyone is having a great start to the competition!

I do have a question.... I notice by the end of the work day, my stomach is very bloated.. I don't get it! I drink lots of water and tea during the day and I do not eat lots of salty things. I wonder if I cut out carbs if I would still be bloated? I mean my stomach really sticks out by the end of the day. It is very weird!!!

I feel like I need to step up my work outs just to keep up with you girls!!!!

I just read the 30 day shred thread and I feel like I should get the DVD. I like my tae bo and doing the treadmill. I wonder how this DVD compares..... anyone know?

i'm planning on getting it (30ds). from everything i have read it looks to be a great dvd. i'm a bit nervous though, i can barely make it with billy! i'm excited about getting it and starting. my plan is to keep doing tae-bo until december and then start 30ds. right now i do the "get ripped" series. it's the only tae-bo dvd i have.

I started my 30 day shred today. It's pretty brutal considering it's only 20 minutes. It makes me feel really out of shape. :P Other than that, I took the dog for a 40 minute walk, despite the cold. Tomorrow is going to be a challenge since I'll be at school aaaaaaall day. I'll find time to work out somehow.

I don't really know tae bo but the 30 day shred is more like a circuit training. Every time you have 2 exercises, you do both twice and both are for a certain goal (cardio, abs, strength...). The exercises get harder when you progress and many of them have an easier and a harder variant. Everybody says it is not easy (even not the people who go to the gym often etc) but it really works and when you stick to it it is doable.

Edit: I also hit my water goal yesterday and have now weighed in at 67 kg / 142 lbs for 2 days straight. Yay! When I don't do anything stupid I can at least report a 2 lbs loss at the end of the week.

Hi everyone! Well, I'm in a different office today so I'll check in again this evening. Things are going well so far today, got about 670 cals to last me until dinner time so that should be fine. I'm going to be doing a LOT of walking at work today so may or may not make it to the gym after work, depends how worn out I am. I'll try though! I'll definitely do the 30DS when I get home though

jmb1981: Nice going with all the exercise! Hope I can be that motivated one day

It is friggin cold here today. .very unseasonably cold actually! I am super inspired to do the 30DS.. I think I will go to wal-mart either tonight or this weekend to get the dvd. I like to work out in the morning before work (did the treadmill this a.m.) but I would like to intensify my work-out and I am hoping 30DS will do that! I just need to get my butt out of bed in the morning. Seriously I hit the snooze for 30 min today!!!!
Lately it has been a struggle to get out of bed. But once I start my work out and get going, I feel fantastic!
The wal-mart by me is so ghetto it is not even funny. The lines are long and it is awful!!!
Spikedpunch- keep up that exercise! sounds like you are doing great!
Elwing- that sounds great! I know you were concerned about a plateau but it sounds like you have it licked!
good luck jmb.. let me know when you get the 30DS
Anti222- love that motivation!

Hmmmm well then I am def going to go tonight to look for it. If they don't have it, I will try Target and look for it at several other stores too. I bet they will have it. The ghetto people at the wal-mart I go to are not in shape and looking at the crappy food they have in their carts, they don't seemed too concerned about losing weight.. my walmart probably has a ton of copies of the shred!!

Evening ladies! Well, I just got back from work and I feel pretty exhausted! I'll still manage to fit in my exercise though

The 30DS is really good, the first time I tried it I made it through the first 10 minutes and then my legs went so wobbly from using muscles I hardly ever use that I had to stop. I could hardly walk for the next 3 days! I started it again though and it wasn't so bad the next time as I did the modified exercises (thought I was doing them the first time but apparently not ) Anyway, I perservered with it and although I ached quite a bit for the first 2 days, it definitely got easier and I can hardly feel it the next morning now. The workout is still really tough though and I find the first set of strength and cardio the worst. Once I get past that bit though I love the rest of it. I'd certainly recommend giving it a go I'd definitely recommend using an exercise mat though if you have a wooden floor. I didn't have one when I did it the first time and almost slipped over in the lovely puddle of sweat I left....yummy! Haha!

Hope all your days are going well!

thanks for the info anti222! i've just got to get to december and i'm there! not sure why i feel the need to wait until december. i guess i feel like i need to prepare myself with some tae-bo and other exercise. i guess part of the problem is i haven't been able to find it in any stores yet.

jessiecat: i'm laughing! too funny!

i'm ready to get done with work and get home! i'm looking forward to putting in tae-bo and showing billy what i'm made of!

checked wal-mart again, still no dvd. actually, i searched the store to find ANY fitness/workout dvd's and didn't find any! i looked in electronics, i looked where the fitness stuff is, i looked in numerous isles. nothing. not a one. weird. i know i have seen them there before. they used to be with electronics. maybe my wal-mart decided that my town is better with some extra weight!
