Good Morning! Happy New Year!

I forgot to post yesterday morning. The previous day I was low calorie but high sodium so yesterday I was up .2 to 195. Yesterday we celebrated New Year's with the traditional Southern fare. I only had breakfast and our New Year's meal. It was higher calories, different foods than I normally eat, but in moderation. I thought I would have a gain this morning, but I maintained at 195! That's huge for me.

Vladadog Great job sticking with your plan through the holidays. I am hoping to be more consistent with my fitness on my hectic days. That's a big challenge for me.

I ended up down 5 pounds for December. I’d really like to end January down in the 210’s. I think that’s doable.

Diana, do you do a new year’s eve tradition? Is that black eyed peas? We always do New Year’s Day and it’s pork and sauerkraut. Mine’s in the crockpot now. Just a lean center cut chop not a big pork roast. I tossed some carrots and some tiny potatoes in too - those aren’t traditional but they cook up nice layered in the kraut. As a kid I hated sauerkraut but it was MANDITORY to eat at least a tiny bit. I’d take one single strand and bury it in a big forkful of mashed potatoes. Now I love the stuff and always have pork and sauerkraut new year’s day.

Vladadog Yes we do have traditional foods and/or a take on the traditional foods. We have pork (this year it was pork loin), greens (DH prefers collard greens), Hoppin' John (DH prefers to have his rice and beans separate and instead of black eye peas he prefers field peas), and corn bread.

Food and exercise was on plan yesterday and I am down .6 to 194.4 this morning.

Vladadog Yes, inching down is a good thing.

I was able to sleep in this morning. It felt good. Yesterday was on plan with food and exercise. I am down 1.6 pounds to 192.8 this morning. Sometimes I have a bit of a bounce back up when I have a larger loss like that. We'll see what happens. I won't be too upset if this happens because I am aware of how my body reacts.

Yesterday was on plan with exercise but my calories were a few hundred higher than they should be due to a bit of junk that I ate. But I maintained my weight from that. I didn't even enjoy the junk, so it's not worth it. Back on plan today.

Good Morning!

Yesterday my exercise was on plan. I had some extra grapes last night. Before bed I felt bloated and I woke feeling bloated. I am up 1.2 pounds to 193.8. My calories were about 100 more than normal. The gain is not from that, so it must be from sodium or something I am unaware of.

Last night I made a poor choice and I got into some roasted in shell peanuts. I cannot eat nuts in moderation so I need to completely stay away. Weigh In, 194.6.

I’m sorry I haven’t been checking in. Not weighing daily, while working for me right now, definitely means I don’t ha e a daily reminder to check in here. But I know checking in is good for me.

I also have avoid roasted in the shell peanuts. ESPECIALLY if they are salted. Oh my! So you haven’t understanding and sympathy Diana. I don’t like almonds nearly as much so I keep a bag of those around. If I’m just kinda feeling like I need a little snack a half dozen almonds take the edge off but I’m not tempted to eat the whole bag. I also keep raw cashews which I throw into stir fried dishes and with veggies that I’m roasting in the oven. Good protein but they aren’t as yummy raw so, again, I’m just not tempted.

Even without weighing I’ve been sticking with IF and eating healthy. Except for one day I had nachos for breakfast. Ooops...

Yesterday was on plan with food but I was unable to workout. My DH has not been feeling well since we got back into town. Yesterday I took him to Urgent Care. He has a sinus infection. Hopefully he will start feeling better soon.

My weight is down 1 pound from the gain to 193.6.

Vladadog All nuts, tree nuts, etc are like drugs to me. I wish I could have stuff like that in moderation. But it is what it is. I just need to be vigilant.

Weighed myself this morning and i’m up a pound since the last time I weighed in. I’ve been sticking with IF and eating healthy but definitely not getting as much exercise this month. I think next month I’ll go back to weighing daily but for this month I’ll keep with weighing whenever.
