Nagazim a TICKER.. WOOO HOOOO Yeah that is a "cool" thing!! Now lets watch it move to the right!!!!

punkrocksong 06-26-2013 10:59 PM

Welcome Melly - I'm clean eating (trying to anyway) as well. It's amazing how much better I feel!

Well at least during the summer I do believe midwestern humidity is comparable to Florida's. It's been in the low 90's all week...it just kind of sucks the energy out of you. I feel like I've been going in slow motion!

Nagazim - congrats on the ticker!!! And way to stick with it!

Joe...that's kind of the attitude I have. I mean I'm not even close to goal, but I figure as long as I keep losing I should just go with it. I've dropped three pants sizes in less than three months...I really don't have anything to complain about!

wannaskipandlaugh 06-27-2013 07:43 AM

Can't wait for the 50 lb off celebration Punk!!!!

punkrocksong 06-27-2013 08:23 AM

Me neither, I'll be a 1/3 of the way to my goal. But it's TOM...so I usually hold pretty steady and/or gain a little before there is a big whoosh. I might not hit is this Sunday, but definitely by the following Sunday. It's all good though. It'll happen when it happens.

joefla70 06-27-2013 10:02 AM

Well, last night and the night before I got back on track with the exercise and walked 6 miles both nights. This morning the scale showed me down to 250.5. (I was kinda hoping that I'd see a 249., but not yet. I never know if I can trust the scale after I exercise like that because it might just be water weight fluctuations. But... in any event, I know I'm pretty close to getting out of the 250s. :)

Welcome Melly!

Oh my goodness Joe! You are going to be leaving us very soon. :)

Nagazim 06-27-2013 09:25 PM

Way to go Joe! I just realized how much your ticker says you've lost. Holy cow! You've lost all of what I hope to weigh some day! Amazing!

My husband called me today to say he's bringing home a treadmill! I'm pretty excited since I'll be able to work out MUCH easier with my kiddos napping schedules. Plus, the idea of walking to tv instead of sitting and watching a particular sounds positive. No clue what kind it is other than it's current and was a quick "we're moving and can't take it with us" sale. He got such a deal I'm hoping it works :/

punkrocksong 06-27-2013 10:53 PM

You'll get there Joe!

I've been looking at treadmills too! I've finally lost enough weight that I wouldn't have to buy the super industrial strength one that costs an arm and a leg.

wannaskipandlaugh 06-28-2013 08:06 AM

Treadmills are good things (I think they burn more lbs than walking/running outside!) Nagazim.. good for your hubby to find a bargain! and Punk, I know what you mean about not having to get the Industrial kind LOL YEAH.. we are under that Oh Oh I can touch that without it breaking Weight! OH yeah... I realized that I don't even have to think of weight limits anymore.. and that is just a SUPER thing (after last year 4th of July breaking my friends outside chair trying to get out of it being in the 300's) Breaking me more than the chair.

YEAH.. WE ARE DOING WELL and taking care of ourselves :D

loganandlivsmom 06-28-2013 09:59 AM

hello all!
I am at work so I can't stay on here long, but I would like to report at least I am down a pound. Had gotten down to 249 then bam!! I gained super fast-6 pounds! :o crazy! stress eating with the car issues, etc... but that is over with and I am now 252. I am looking to try to make 250 by July 4th (even 249 would be ok) LOL Not gonna beat myself up-sometimes I do over do it with the comfort foods. At least I am reeling myself in and not getting too off track.
I noticed a few people saying they have a problem with salt. I love salt too much. I have started using No Salt in the grocery store. It's really potassium but it tastes just like salt to me and it actually can lower your blood pressure some if that is a problem for you (potassium naturally lowers BP) Anyway, just thought I would throw that out there.

welcome Melly!!

Looks like a lot of us are almost of this thread and will going down to the 240 thread in no time at all!! have a good weekend all

Thanks Sue... and everybody else... for the kind words. :)

LOL @ spitting before I weighed. I'm not THAT obsessed with the scale! Actually, you were right about getting into the 240s. This morning I weighed in at 249.5 this morning. I don't know if it will stick over the weekend, but it was nice to see that "4" show up on the scale. :) And even if it bounces back up a little in the next few days, I know that will be fleeting.

I've been walking a lot lately. I started out on the treadmill and was doing 1/2 hour on it, but I got bored being inside. So, I started walking outside. At first I was doing 3 miles, but then I increased it to between 5 and 6 miles because I felt good enough to keep going. (That may have been a mistake, though, because my legs and feet are starting to ache!) So, I might have to cut back the distance a bit. But the walking has made a big difference in my weight loss. Before I started walking three weeks ago I had stalled in the low to mid 260s for a few weeks. But since I've started walking these past few weeks I've jump-started the weight loss and lost about 13 pounds.

I don't have any special treadmill and I used mine when I was 400 pounds without a problem. It never even occurred to me to check to see if there was a weight limit.

I think treadmills help burn more calories because they keep you at a steady pace. When you walk on your own outside, you may slow down without realizing it. What helps me when I walk outside is that I have a running app for my phone that tells me my time, distance, pace, etc. Plus, the music keeps me going too. But its weird, whereas I can walk at a pace of 4.0 MPH on the treadmill, I seem to be able to only walk at 3.7 MPH when outside. Also, I can jog a little bit on the treadmill, but I can't jog at all outside. Its too hard on my knees.

Hi, I made it!! I am so excited to be in the 260's thread!!! I love the name...flying through, and I hope that is exactly what I do!!!

Good to be here:D

erinmarie312 06-28-2013 10:34 PM

Oh my gosh I can't believe I have been away for so long!! So much has been going on the past couple of weeks that I haven't been to the gym more than twice and haven't been clean eating like I wanted!! FINALLY finished my last day with old job and starting new and wonderful job on Monday. For the weekend I'm going to make a plan for food, and getting Nia to daycare on time.
I have missed out on so much of what's been going on here! Honestly haven't even been weighing myself...too scared. I'm also going to take a gallon of water with me, just to make sure I drink enough. It's good to be back!!
