Congrats devnet!

I gained over the weekend. Today I'm at 260.4 again all due to bad food choices for 2 days straight. It happens. Back on track today though!

Devnet - great job getting into the 200s. Those round-number milestones are very satisfying to reach. Hang onto it if you find yourself challenged at any point in your process.

And, hello everyone else. After a weekend of not-great (but certainly not catastrophic) eating at the music festival, I am happy to report only a one-pound bounce this morning, to 156.

I overslept, and haven't decided yet whether I'll hit the gym this morning or start working on time.

Good luck and good strength today.

i know this is only temporarily and everything will be fine, but i just wanna be whiny and pouty and moody and munchy (thanks TOM).

Funny how pretty much the same number can produce such wildly different reactions. I was 149.6 this morning, my second 40's number in a row, and I'm so ecstatic!! I've never been below 180ish in my adult life so every new low is really a new low. Intellectually I knew I would get here but just seeing that 4 is such a surreal experience for me. I'm bouncing off the walls over here, emotionally-speaking.

Thistleberry- Congrats on the continued 140's. I could not even imagine. I was 140 about 20 years ago. I am trying for 160 but I think 140 might be a long long term goal. Congrats on your hard work. How long has it taken you to get this far?

Ciao-This is my first month counting so I am not sure if I will gain or not around TOM. I hope its over soon. Whine away girl.

Carter the music festive sounds fun. Glad you had a good time and only a little bump in your weight.

Diana no change is frustrating but better than a rise.

Heathymewannabe- its only a small gain and you have a good attitude. Just get back on track.

I am excited to see a drop today. I lost the pound I gained by eating out and then 2 more. I don't know if it was all the water I drank yesterday, the walking or just keeping in my range.

I do have a question. Yesterday I only had about 850 calories after dinner. It was hot and I just had small meals. I read if you don't eat at least 1200 calories/day you can slow your metabolism. I ended up eating a few almond and some frozen edamame to bring it up to 1218. There have been a few days I only eat around 1000 calories. Do you think I should make sure I get at least 1200/day? I just don't want to limit myself if it is just going to make it harder to loose.

Thank you!
I started back on April 1st 2011. (I get the feeling that will always stick in my mind. I didn't even think about it being the first of the month or April Fool's Day. I was just like, yep, Friday it is.) So it has taken 15 months to lose 80 pounds. I'm so excited to be losing again because May and June I hit a stall caused by a new birth control pill. I have since switched over to a generic of what I'd been taking previous to that (which is what I feel they ought to have prescribed in the first place but oh well) and I'm finally back on track. I was getting so frustrated and I was told time and time again by people irl that maybe my body was done but I just knew that wasn't right. I'm thrilled to have figured it out.

As to your question, it's going to take more than a few days to lower your metabolism so I wouldn't worry too much. So yes I don't think it's a serious problem to go below 1000 calories on some days but I would try to even it out with a high calorie count on others. I try to shoot for an average for the week so there are some days when I'm only at 1000 and others where I get 1600 and it all comes out in the wash.

Thank you. I had 1600 on Friday. So next time I will not worry so much about not being hungry but not having 1200 total for the day. This is all new for me so I may ask some silly questions.

Hey everyone! I am up today. Which I expected, just not quite so much! I'm sitting at 148.

Thistleberry I feel you on being in the 140s! I am so excited to be here and working to go back up! But I have a vacation starting on Thursday. I expect a gain. I hope my weight drops more before I leave.

As far as I'm concerned this is the perfect place to ask "silly" questions. Anyway, more often that not, they really aren't all that silly.
Are you taking a good multivitamin? One of the reasons they suggest you eat at least 1200 is that it's very hard to get all that good stuff through food alone whilst eating at that kind of deficit.

Oooh, Domlacha, I'll definitely cross my fingers for you that you get a little more wiggle room before your vacation. Where are you going?

Hi Everyone!

Carter Did you make it to the gym today?

Ciao Hang in there, the TTOM water weight will be gone soon.

Thistleberry Good job on the 140's!

Lishar Good job on your weigh in! I agree that you are supposed to eat a certain amount of calories in order to get the proper nutrition. I would also even out the lower calorie days with a higher calorie day.

Domlacha Good job on staying in the 140's after the weekend.

AKA Good job!

Healthymewannabe Today is a new day. Get right back on track.

So I was up to 239lbs yesterday and am back down to 237.4lbs today (thankfully).

I had a bad weekend (eating wise) after a successful weigh-in on Friday. I am trying really hard to stay on track but everything seems so tempting. Hopefully I'll do better this week.

On a positive note, a few other girls at work have decided to eat healthier which makes it easier for me too.

Congrats to everyone on their success/continued efforts!

Went down another .6 pounds. From 298.8 yesterday to 298.2 today. I would have liked to see a whole pound, but it's near my TOM, and I'm on some meds right now my body isn't used to, so I'll take what I can get.
