carter, I hope you're enjoying the Jazz Festival. Newport is quite the town.
I'm back down to 136.6 this morning. I had lunch with a friend yesterday and we splurged on dessert (a truly fabulous chocolate cake) but that was all I ate all day, so it worked out fine. It used to be that I would have a big lunch and still have dinner. I'm encouraged that I've been able to change that behavior.
ciao, I did download a free app and it made me register a credit card, so I had a brief moment of "What?" but I didn't get charged anything.
I seem to be hanging at 253 for the last few days. I was worried last night because I went over my limit 1200-1500 but with the walk I had yesterday I did not gain. I had the veggie burger at Red Robin and it was sooo good but 700+ calories. I just wanted a burger so I compromised. My total was 1626 instead of 1500. Not too much more.
I looked at the burgers I used to get and that meal was more calories than I now eat in a day. WOW. Amazing how many calories I used to eat and not think a think a thing about it.
Not sure if I am going to get a walk in today. Its very warm for here Western Washington state. In the mid 80's and we are having a yard sale. I am so sweaty and hot. I might try this evening if it cools down. We packed up early because it was getting so warm.
I did not get a walk in today. It was just too darn hot. We are not used to the high 80/90's where I live. I wanted to after dinner but it is just miserable. I will try tomorrow. We did have a yard sale and I got sweaty setting up but that does not count. LOL.
No weigh-in today as I am still at Newport but I just want to say this: I ate very carefully at the festival yesterday and kept out of the snacks and festival treats. After the day's jazz I drank a dirty martini with my (carefully-ordered) dinner, went for a long walk, and then ate a fantastic ice cream cone of the sort you really only seem to find in summer resort towns.
The martini and the ice cream were TOTALLY worth it, and I am stating that here for the record so that when I get home, if I see a bounce on Monday, I have written testimony of how much I enjoyed those two treats that, for the most part, I assiduously avoid these days!
I had a little sodium bounce from yesterday's foods. I made spaghetti for dinner. I had spaghetti squash and the meat sauce. The sodium is still higher in the sauce than my normal weekly foods.

I am up a pound. I think because what Diana wrote about salt. I dont salt my food and you never know how much is in restaurant food. Also I was not able to walk yesterday. We were setting up the yard sale at 7am so I had no opportunity in the morning. It was too hot to even do the Wii last night. It was 84 inside. I am going to start back my membership in the Y so then I could walk indoors.
Hey everyone!! I am 146.8 today, but it is my Sunday family dinner day where I have more calories than normal. So tomorrow maybe a little more. I did manage not to weigh more last Monday so maybe I can achieve that again.
Carter you are doing great. Small treats are definitely worth it.
My last WI was Thursday Aug.2 @ 151.2.Been doing a lot of running around since then,no time to exercise but did make better choices than i did the beginning of last month.Plan to hit the gym tomorrow and WI Tuesday.
Realized(some time ago) that i ovulate at the being of the months and usually start seeing the scale move closer towards the middle/end of the month.Anyway.. at this point,I'm not going to lose more than a lb or 2 a month cause I can't eat any less and sustain it for life.Totally crazy to develop a eating style that I won't be able to maintain and start to gain my weight back.
Will fight to get back to ticker weight even tough i fought hard last month,I was on my way.seems that i ran out of month.My legs,muscles everywhere,(having to take pain pills) were hurting so bad from all the exercising.Learned how to use the treadmill and ran on a high incline for 2 long plus all the TRXing started doing jumping jacks,jumping rope..(lady on the desk,at the gym even told me that i need to give my body a rest and go home )
I got my walk in today which is good. We had a community BBQ and I walked to our local park twice so 1.6 miles. It was very hot and I was swetting in the shade much less on my walk. I did good and just had a burger no bun and veggies. I must have drank 3liters of water. So all and all a good day. I am even under my goal.
