ALEKS, sorry to hear about the food poisoning. That's no fun at all!
I am sticking with my plan and really hoping to see 3 lbs. gone this week. Exercise is always a struggle. I ended up doing the 30 Day Shred DVD tonight at 9:30PM. I am also irritable. Stupid TOM. But I haven't given in to my cravings for sweets. I did allow myself 1/2 a cup of lowfat frozen yogurt today (and calculated the calories too) and it was tasty! I also started my new position at work today. I really like it so far! Tomorrow I should get my computer at work and then I'll be good to go! :) |
To Divine Fidelity: I joined the 260's thread this week also. Like you, I'm hoping that loosing over 100 pds will lessen the pain in my old knees and hips. I can only walk a short way with a walker. To tell the truth, I'm 61 and know that loosing the weight this old won't take away the wrinkles will probably add tons more, plus hanging skin. I'm not in it for the looks this time. This time the loss is to relieve pain. I will be FURIOUS if I loose a hundred pds and still cannot sleep or walk!!!
Yes my, overall health, blood pressure ect, will be better. But It's all about the painful sleepless nights for me. Hope to see you in the 50's soon. |
I got out of the 260s this morning! The scale said 259.6 and I checked it several times. :carrot: Thirty pounds and over 10% lost! I'm trying to really appreciate how happy I am right now, so that I can motivate myself in times of temptation or laziness, as I start counting down the 250s.

Thanks Rebelle! :) I'm absolutely loving the new position so far!
|
261.3 this morning. I feel like I've been stuck in the 260's forever and ever but soon they will be gone!
You guys are all doing great! |
Hi ladies - mind if I join you?
I'm at 264, dying to be out of the 260's and 250s. This is my highest weight. I'm putting the breaks on today. After a ton of research and some trial-and-error, I decided to do a low carb plan - sort of Atkins, with paleo/primal thrown into the mix. Natural foods, 20 carbs or less per day. I realize that there are all types of plans being followed here, but if anyone is doing LC, any tips for getting over the first couple of days, which I understand are not so fun? Thanks. And looking forward to checking in here. Jes (Daisynyc) |
Congrats on staying on plan Rebelle! I ended up taking a couple of days off of Atkins Induction because my son had the stomach virus from the firey depths.. he is on day 4 and finally getting better. My mom was hospitalized yesterday for an intestinal blockage and may need surgery... life got too crazy and I just didn't have the energy or focus for my plan. Restarting within the next couple of days. I was 253 even this morning :D
|
Hi folks. How did your 4th go? Mine was great, but terrible for my plan. I didn't go anywhere, but used the day as a much needed lazy day. I admittedly didn't get dressed or even get out of bed except for potty breaks and food. And my food choices were awful. I snacked instead of eating meals, consuming mostly handfuls of Life cereal and Cheddar Jack Cheez Its and drinking decaf sweet tea. Not a healthy day at all! But it's over and I'm back on plan. I think all the salt in the snacky foods is making me hold a little water because the scale read 265 this morning. Yuck.

Hey Everyone and Hi Jes,
Yes.. low carb is part of my plan.. but not no carb. Sounds like the heat wave and holidays is getting to us all. I brought home much of the chocolate from my getaway but I did indulge in some pretty rich foods. I did try to keep the portions down and did get a good workout in at the hotel gym So.. we will see what happens at weigh in on Wed. Keep cool everyone. 36 degrees Celsius here today. wow.. hot! |
Hi Y'all!
feeling good right now. Yesterday I started a 100 day challenge from a book by the same name. Had a really good day. I'm counting backwards from 100 to 1 so I can feel what that is like. I so want to someday say I counted down 100 pds lost. But small steps 1st. Just staying in my calorie counts, exercise, water ect. daily goals for 100 days is a good way to start. This is my 1st day of week 3 since I started healthy plan. Tommorrow is weigh in day wish me luck! Healthy me: OK, so the 4th is over and todays another fresh start day. Thank God for fresh starts. Tiff: Sick children and parents are the pitts.:( Just keep coming back. Jes: WELCOME! I've lost a lot of weigh on Atkins about 10 yrs ago and gained it all back. The main reason I lost at all was the atkins support board. But once I fell back into carbs I was too embarresed to come back. I 'm counting cal this time, carbs included , the only way I can do this at my age is with something I can stick withh all my life, I love pasta too much for Atkins. But if you like Atkins check around on this site for an Atkins thread also. And NO MATTER BAD DAYS keep coming back for support. Unicorn: I LOVE YOUR NAME! Lead me the way to the 250's! Grace: YEAH! 250's. Way to go! 30 pds down is suberb! |
Alright Rebelle, awesome results so far!! 5 pounds is 5the pounds, regardless :)I think thank you for the well wishes. My son is much better but my mom is still in the hospital.
I am still at 253, restarted Atkins today, going to do my best with staying on plan.. it is too easy for me to overeat simple carbs when I am unrestricted. It is raining here, I LOVE RAIN! I hope everyone is enjoying their Friday. |
I was down .2 this morning...not much, really, but profoundly grateful not to have a huge bounce from fat and sodium-rich 4th of July foods! We'll see what the scale has to say tomorrow on my official weigh in for the week. :)
|
I have been MIA for a while. Started weight watchers about 1 month ago and have lost 10 lbs so far and am back down to 255. Stressful week and have been eating too much of everything. Hoping tomorrow to get back on track. It is so good to be back!
|
This week I seem to be maintaining my weight instead of losing. I was hoping that with TOM going away a few days ago that the scale would start moving. I haven't been extremely diligent about my food intake or my exercise though and I think that's what's holding me back. Time to step it up!

:carrot: 3 Pds closer to the 50's. FRom 269 to 266 today !!!
