I made 30 days ON PLAN !!!
That's the first time in 6 years I managed that. DH's support really helps.

calluna 10-31-2010 01:15 PM

Congratulations, Sea! That is a major NSV! :D

calluna 10-31-2010 01:16 PM

Doing well today - Halloween. Not thinking about candy today, but rather about altering the size of my son's costume. Keeping busy!

skygirl 10-31-2010 03:39 PM

Ugh. I am so disappointed in myself. I really thought I was making progress. Ok, tomorrow is another day. Gotta get back to work. I can do this, I can do this, I can do this.... Grrrr.

Congrats to everyone on all the wonderful progress! So many people sticking with their plans and reaching new highs (or would that be lows ;)).

Today was boarderline OP for me. Maybe I squeaked by with a smiley face, but it isn't a very happy smiley face. I had a big lunch and ate more than I should have (went to a Thai restaurant and they served a lot of food). I made good choices otherwise and did manage to walk around 3 or 4 miles.

I didn't have any candy and I did probably burn off more calories than I took in. While it wasn't quite as good as I hoped, I shall count it as OP.

10-18 to 10-31 :)

Charms 10-31-2010 08:12 PM

Racking up a smiley day. Passed on the candy. Passed on the fatty food dinner. Passed on the cannoli. Pretty darn pleased with myself!

10/11-10/30 :)

Hopefully things will slow down starting tomorrow and I can catch up with everyone!

WildThings 10-31-2010 11:35 PM

I survived Halloween without any candy!!! I actually helped pass out candy last night, I could just smell the sugar wafting out of the bowl, but I passed it up. We gave the last few kids huge handfuls just to make sure there was not any left over.

skygirl 11-01-2010 02:51 PM

Ugh. I want to get excited and remember that this is possible, even for me. Hopefully this rough patch is coming to an end and there will be brighter days ahead.

I hope everyone is having a great week! :)

I'm claiming my smilie in advance for tomorrow as a show of my commitment to myself that I will be on plan tomorrow, all day, for nutrition and exercise, no matter what. I will be back tomorrow evening to confirm what I already know to be true. :)

11-2 :)

Charms 11-01-2010 07:50 PM

Great job WildThings!!! We had exactly TWO trick or treaters yesterday. I gave the leftover candy to a neighbor for her grandchildren. It's not tempting for me since I really don't like sweets, but I didn't want it in the house regardless.

skygirl, that attitude will bring you much success. I will be looking forward to your post tomorrow confirming your smiley :carrot:

I'm having some major TOM issues but I hope my good eating still shows up on the scale tomorrow. (My official weekly weigh in day).

Today was a good one tho making it 21+ days in a row. Hopefully my new habits are getting firmly established!

10/11 - 11/1 :)

matt_H 11-01-2010 09:16 PM

today was a fairly okay day food wise and an excellent day exercise wise!

I was getting a bit bored with my standard turkey or roast beef sub, so I went with pastrami instead. It is LOADED with sodium and has a lot more fat and calories. Not the best choice, that is for sure. However, dinner was very healthy and I ended doing my longest run ever this evening! I ran about 6.5 miles very slowly.

I was under my calories even with the less than steller food choice. Overall, it was a good day.

10-18 to 11-1 :)

Charms 11-02-2010 07:11 PM

Where are all the challenge folks? Get your butts in here. If you're off plan, now is a good time to get back on!

I have not been able to exercise the past few days because I'm having a horrible fem cycle right now. I hope things let up soon.

Today was 4 weeks on plan for me. And the results are encouraging.

Pounds lost: 12

Inches lost:
Chest: 1.5 inches
Waist: 1.5 inches
Hips: 2.0 inches
Bicep: 1.0 inch

10/11-11/2 :)

skygirl 11-02-2010 07:47 PM

Thanks Charms! And congrats on your 4 weeks on plan and your 12 lb loss! Whoo-ho!

Had a great weight lifting workout. I think I am going to add a third one each week, because doing two leaves too much of a gap in between.

11-2 :)

Do you use machines or free weights?

I'm here! I'm on plan! :)

matt_H 11-02-2010 10:11 PM

10-18 to 11-2 :)

I didn't get any exercise in today at all. I hoped to be able to walk some today but it is brutally cold out. I was however pretty much perfect with food. I'm well under my calories and I'm actually probably around 1500 or 1600 (very low for me). I'm usually closer to 1800 to 2000.

skygirl 11-03-2010 08:17 PM

Creech, I am doing a weight lifting class. I asked in the weight lifting section if this is considered to be free weights, and they said that it is, because it is a bar and plates, but that they are somewhat different from the bars and plates that lifters use that do it on their own like not in a class. The bars and weights are lighter. I really enjoy it though. There are instructors to check your form, and you can build up your weights over time. Congrats to you on all your days on plan during this challenge, that rocks! :)

Sick today, fighting some kind of cold. Second one in recent weeks. Not sure what's up with that.

Hope everyone is doing well! :)

11-3 :)

matt_H 11-03-2010 09:08 PM

Was under my calorie count and did a 5k run this evening! Twas a good day :)

10-18 to 11-3 :)

Charms 11-03-2010 10:14 PM

Way under calories and water intake today. Stomach is still a bit wonky from this fem stuff. If it doesn't ease up tomorrow I may have to go see the doc *sigh* Eating less is better than eating too much tho, right? LOL

10/11 - 11/3 :)

skygirl 11-04-2010 12:38 PM

Charms, I hope you start feeling better soon! :) Great job staying on plan even when you may not be feeling great.

Matt, great job to you too for all your on plan days and all your running! :) I want to be able to do some jogging at some point in the future, hopefully not too far away, and it's great to hear about all your running. And your journey is so inspiring! I read about your journey and looked at your progress pics and saw that you did that multi-day Komen walk/run, amazing!

I am only feeling a little better than yesterday, when I started getting sick. But I am going lift weights today, in an effort to feel better.

Hope everyone is having a great day!

11-4 :)

Charms 11-04-2010 09:42 PM

Matt your workouts are so inspiring. I'm trying to build myself up from walking and yoga but my body isn't cooperating.

I do feel a bit better today. And I ate closer to calorie range and got all my water in plus some.

So I'm taking my smiley and going to bed LOL

skygirl, that smiley looks good on you :)

10/11 - 11/4

matt_H 11-05-2010 07:02 AM

Yesterday was borderline again for me. I'll consider it on plan, but I might have just reached the calories for the day and I didn't do any exercise. Hopefully today will be much better.

10-18 to 11-4 :)

calluna 11-05-2010 10:58 AM

Yesterday was very good for me - in spite of work-related travel and all-day meetings, I packed (didn't have much chance to eat) my foods and didn't grab for junk.

WildThings 11-05-2010 07:28 PM

Eek, I realized today I hadn't update my original post in almost a week. Fortunately, the only think I failed to do was update my progress, still been on track all week.

matt_H 11-05-2010 09:29 PM

Today was definitely a good day.

Ate very well and did a 5k run this evening. I have my weight watchers meeting in the morning and I hope I will have a loss this week. I believe I will if my home scale is to be believed. I probably won't be into new territory quite yet (lowest I've seen on the home scale was 189.8) but I might be close. The last 4 or 5 days have been fluctuated up even though I've been pretty much on plan. The weight loss definitely is at a snails pace, but I'm not in a rush at this point ;)

10-18 to 11-05 :)

Charms 11-06-2010 12:04 AM

Ran around ALL day and it felt good! Went out to dinner and stayed on plan with some sauteed chicken and veggies. This is getting easier by the day to stick with as I learn what works for me.

10/11-10-5 :)

matt_H 11-07-2010 12:08 AM

11-06 was borderline again.

Probably under my calories but I was out of routine and went to a restaurant I normally don't go to and then we went for frozen yogurt. What I choose to eat was one of the better selections and was healthy, but it was more food than I probably should have ate. It is hard to guestimate calories.

calluna 11-07-2010 01:28 AM

Excellent day; did a 2-hour workout, something I don't usually have the luxury of doing, and ate well besides.

Charms 11-07-2010 10:00 AM

Glad to hear folks are continuing to do well!!

My son came over yesterday to help me clean out closets and cabinets. He had to remind me to eat LOL

Lots of calories burned, lots of water to hydrate my system and food totally on plan (even tho they ordered a pizza for dinner I had fish)

Loving all the smilieys :carrot:

10/11 - 11/6 :)

WildThings 11-07-2010 07:06 PM

We are in the final strech for the 30 days! The next two months are going to be the real challenge for me. I'm already trying to come up with what kind of challenge I can give myself.

matt_H 11-07-2010 08:29 PM

Anybody want to stretch this challenge out to December 1st? Then, maybe me or somebody else can start a new challenge until January. I really like the sort little daily check ins to keep me accountable.

Today was finally a non-borderline day. It was an absolutely good totally on plan rocking day! I walked probably 10 miles in total today and made excellent food choices. I'm thinking positive thoughts that the scale might actually be a new low in the morning ;)

10-11 to 11-07 :)

Charms 11-07-2010 09:05 PM

I'm all for going another month!

It's amazing how the thought of not coming here to post a smiley face keeps me on track LOL

Today was a really good day. Food was perfect. Lots of exercise. Tons of water.

Now for a nice relaxing bath and some sleep!

10/11-11/7 :)

calluna 11-08-2010 09:37 AM

I'm all for continuing this, too; it'll help a lot with the holidays.

Was on plan this weekend with food, but I think there was some hidden sodium in the rotisserie chicken I bought at the store on Friday, because I had a sodium bounce this weekend.

Creeech 11-08-2010 11:34 AM

I'm up for stretching it :)

I think pink wanted it to be a 30 day challenge because of the coincidence in the dates.. 10/10 thru 11/11. Maybe we should do 11/12-12/12 right after and continue on through there? (since there's no 13/13 ;D)

I love this thread :) I've been pretty busy but I still read everyone's updates!

penny10 11-08-2010 12:54 PM

Wow, just reading through this guys, great job! Very inspiring, however, I don't know that I can do it! I will continue to track your progress in hopes of getting me to try to do it as well :)

Thanks for the inspiration!

AngelicLyna 11-08-2010 01:18 PM

:)

Charms 11-08-2010 09:59 PM

Great day here! I even got in a walk/jog this morning :D

This time change is messing with me tho. I'm crazy tired so off to bed I go.

10/11 - 11/8 :)

calluna 11-08-2010 10:54 PM

Good day here - spent some time shoveling snow and playing with the dogs in the new snow tonight. I don't know about you, but I count 45 minutes shoveling snow as part of my workout!

Charms 11-09-2010 08:41 AM

45 minutes shoveling snow is DEFINITELY a work out. Wow!

But would you mind keeping the snow there please? I'm not ready for it yet LOL In fact, it's going to be close to 70 today and tomorrow in Chicago :D

Sea 11-09-2010 08:46 AM

I had an off plan day last Tuesday. It created a whole week of waste. I stayed on plan since. Today is the first day that showed a weight loss again. I finally broke through the decade mark.
