For today, here is my meal plan:

Whole-Wheat Tortilla 330 cal
one scrambled egg
cheese
salsa

Amy's organic pesto tortellini 430

banana 90

meat and veggies 350

total calories: about 1200

Plus a six-mile run on the treadmill, starting to become wintery

OKAY, so, I have my new work schedule and here is what my WO will look like for the week, when i start my new schedule

MON - morning 6 mile run treadmill
TUE- morning 6 mile run treadmill
WED- 915-1015 Cycling, 1045-1145 Tai Chi
THUR- 915-1015 Cycling, 1045-1145 Yoga
FRI- Bodypump 9AM

I think that this is a great schedule because it will incorporate everything that I wanted to work on this winter (endurance, flexibility, and strength training). I want to make sure that once I get back to the running season next spring that I am up and ready! I like this because on WED, THUR, FRI, I get my exercises in the morning, which is key for me, Doing an exercise after a long day of work is so stressful.

Anna Congrats on the weight loss! That's wonderful that you can weigh yourself everyday like that. I get too frustrated. I flux so much! It's like, one day I gain a pound, the next I lose. I like looking at consistent results or I go crazy. :dizzy: LOL, but congrats.

I didn't want to let the cat out of the bag, but, I am losing weight too!!! I only weigh myself once a week, and I think this monday was a good one because I came in at 155.8. My mouth dropped--I am sure that will fluctuate back up again. I am guessing I am about 156 right now? Getting down to 154 would be great because that would mean I have lost ten pounds since my honeymoon!!! Hopefully, I can build on that bikini bod for the summer. I am hoping to keep up the good healthy lifestyle this winter!!

On Halloween, I am running a 10k and being the designated driver the night before (sat) for all my buddies. It's nice to know the people you love have a safe ride. Plus, it helps with drinking less calories! I can get crazy at festitivies, so I am usually the first one to claim DD on party nights.

Well, hopefully by next monday, I can come in here telling you I have lost 10 pounds since July. :carrot:

Thanks for everyone's support!

Charms 10-26-2010 02:14 PM

Amanda, I need to set up some formal exercise goals too. I've been winging it since doc told me I could start doing my low impact videos again. YaY for your great day :)

Congratulations Matt on your new weight loss territory!

Anna, *w00h00* for your losses!

Sea, may I ask where you live? Your avi makes me sigh every time I see it. Happy to hear the scale is being kind and moving the right way.

librarygirl, that is some workout routine! I'm sure you'll be seeing results with all that hard work.

Well the scale blipped back up 1/4 lb for my "official" weigh in today. But I am still down 10 pounds since October 9th so there will be no complaining for me!

Hope everyone else checks in soon too! Still lots of days left on the challenge. Let's make the most of it.

:):)GO SMILIES!:):)

p.s. That little mouse in my avi is one the reasons for my determination. My eldest granddaughter Vivienne. I want to be able to run and play with her and her cousin Erin for a good long time. (Erin is only 5 mos so not much running yet LOL)

dorian05 10-26-2010 03:08 PM

Hello everybody!

I've just returned from my 60-minute walk with my dear brother. I've eaten in my calorie range. So today I get my :)!
Anyway, I visited my doctor today (nefrologist; I'm not sure if you use that term also) because of my high blood pressure. She said that I'll always need medication even if I loose the weight; that was dissapointing, hu :halfempty
The other thing she said was that I consume too much salt. 6 grams is enough for a day. And you know what? 2 slices of bread have that much salt.:fr: What about other food where salt is hidden?!
I came to a conclusion that raw food is what I should eat most of the time (veggies, fruits, nuts, ...). That way I can have my salt intake somewhat in control.
matt, anna, Sea, librarygirl, charms and everybody else I'm happy that you're doing so great and congrats on the weight loss!

Charms, we have the same reason for losing the weight. I have my precious son Dorian who is only 5 and needs his mum to stay around him years and years to come. He is my number one reason I'm doing this!
The second reason is that I want him to have a brother/ a sister soon! It's not possible while I'm this heavy and have so many medical problems and on so many pills every day. :(

skygirl 10-26-2010 03:22 PM

Checking back in after the weekend. Glad to see so many people are doing so well staying on plan and seeing good losses, congrats! :)

I had a planned for off plan day on Sunday. Wow eating like that really drains my energy and brings my mood way down. Got right back on plan Monday and today, but still trying to undo the effects of that day, mental and physical. Scale jumped up and I thought it was just sodium and would be back down this morning, but looks like it's going to take another day.

I did the treadmill and stretches yesterday, and weight lifting today.

Took a verrry hard midterm last night.. barely got 1000 calories in for the day and most of them were at night when I realized I ate close to nothing. When I woke up the scale said I was up .6 lbs.. probly from eating the bulk of my food so late the night before. Today has been a bit better, my school followed a Friday schedule so I had the day off. I relaxed, watched a bit of TV, cleaned a bit.. etc. I'm at 1065 calories right now so I have a little wiggle room if I decide to have a light snack and a cup of tea. Time to study and do some laundry though, another midterm tomorrow night! x_x

Great job getting back on plan anna!

Jelbelle, take a deep breath, pamper yourself with a relaxing bubble bath or something and remember the school semester will be over soon! Over eating won't fix anything.

I woke up to a great surprise this morning. A two pound *whooooosh*

:D

skygirl 10-27-2010 08:59 AM

Well I was on plan again yesterday.

But, from that one day off plan on Sunday, the scale jumped 3.5 lbs Monday morning, then stayed the same 3.5 up on Tuesday, then went down just 1 lb this morning. I have to admit being confused/frustrated, because I did not have anywhere near enough cals to cover my BMR plus 3.5 lbs to make that weight "real," so I'd thought it was just sodium, but I don't remember having sodium take *this* long to go away. I got right back on plan, with nutrition and exercise, have done the treadmill several times and weight lifting. So I am confused and frustrated, and trying not to let it get me too down or throw me off course.

Hope everyone is having a great day! :)

Sea 10-27-2010 10:12 AM

Staying on plan and exercising a hour a day. The scale shows no improvement today :?: , but I know because of staying OP, it will.

I have lost ten pounds!

The scale read 154.6 this morning, my lowest low ever.

Wow, it feels great to be getting in shape again.

10-18 to 10-27 :)

I stayed on plan and even went for a run this evening. After the run I ended up going to a late movie and now I'm home and falling asleep fast. Its wicked late on a school night. I'm dreading the morning :)

calluna 10-28-2010 01:01 AM

Hanging in there - today was a pretty good day. It has been a struggle lately, though.

AngelicLyna 10-28-2010 03:43 AM

Oh dear, today was a bad day for me, I bought a bag of chocolate candy to decorate my cupcakes for my cousins on Sunday and I had it opened near my computer desk so I was eating it while I was playing videos games, when I looked at the bag again, it was half gone. Lesson learned, don't put junk food near the computer desk and tell myself "just 2 pieces".

Exercise and water consumption were good though.

fatmac 10-28-2010 05:14 AM

Two good days in a row! Woo hoo!

Charms 10-28-2010 07:40 PM

matt_H 10-28-2010 09:28 PM

10-18 to 10-28 :)

Another good day. The last couple of days the weight have fluctuated up. I'm up a few pounds from my lowest, but I've been definitely OP and under my calorie mark.

I'm still a bit sore from the running I've done on Monday and Wednesday, so maybe this is causing a bit of water retention. I do plan on going running tomorrow night too.

I think I'm due for a "whoosh" soon which will drop me into the 180s. It always seems hardest to make it into another decade ;)

BTW, lately has not been the best times for me in terms of depression/ life issues. Today was particularly bad. Combination of work stress and relationship issues just about did me in. I was about ready to do something stupid (head to the bar) when I realized that I would not be able to put another smiley face up here.

I'm glad for this forum and thread for keeping me from being my own worse enemy.

Jelbelle 10-29-2010 04:25 AM

matt-- good job resisting that temptation! I had my own little stress-induced falling off the wagon today, and I remember just how bad doing that something stupid makes me feel afterwards. Charms is right, "overeating won't fix anything" and neither will a bit of bar time!

12/30

skygirl 10-29-2010 09:48 AM

Thank you so much Charms! I hope you're right! ;) BTW your av-pic is so adorable. And congrats on all your success, lots of smilies! :D

Rough week for me, but hanging in there.

Still lifting weights, which I really like. I feel stronger and better when I do this a few times a week.

I just finished reading Eat To Live. I've got The Beck Solution next up on the list.

Congrats to everyone staying on plan, losing weight, hanging in there, and getting back on track after an off plan day! :)

As of mid-day today, I weigh 156, which is 8 pounds down from when I started. (I flux a lot, lol) I know that if I stick to my plans and try to keep going with exercise and everything that I will eventually reach my goals. As someone else said on these message boards, we are trying to create consistency, and slip-ups aren't something to feel super guilty about, but instead, something to tell yourself to acknowledge as a tiny in break in the big vast lifechange you are currently experiencing.

Dont be nervous. Just remember the candy makers rubbed their snotty noses while working and may have accidently drooled into the candy. Who would even want to think about eating that?! LOL (gross I know, but it WORKS as a turn off)

I am silly tired. Had my grandbaby for 12 hours today plus worked line a maniac. Tomorrow I'm going to do as little as possible!

But I AM here to collect my smiley face. It does make me happy to see it before bedtime

10/11-10/29 :)

calluna 10-29-2010 09:26 PM

A pretty good day for me. Had a heavier lunch, planning a lighter dinner. Walked/jogged 3.1 miles today at just over 4 mph pace. Considering I am just getting back on the exercise wagon after a 6-week hiatus, this made me pretty happy.

matt_H 10-29-2010 09:55 PM

Its hard to guestimate calories today. For breakfast, I know it was around 250 calories. Lunch was a small BBQ chicken sub. It didn't have any cheese or any mayo. Just BBQ sauce, grilled chicken, onions, and tomato. I'm guessing around 700-800 calories. Dinner was a healthy wrap but it was ginormous. I'm guessing maybe 800-900 calories.

I ended up running this evening a 5K distance in about 35 minutes. So that was good even if the calories might have been slightly on the high side (I try to shoot for 1800 but go as high as 2000 a day).

I was under my calories still and did have a good day in terms of exercise. I'm giving it a smiley face.

Sea 10-30-2010 09:19 AM

On plan all month, scale has stalled again. :(

skygirl 10-30-2010 09:41 AM

Part of my plan this moth has been to plan some off plan days so that I could practice being off plan and then getting right back on plan, without freaking out or spiraling out of control. It's been difficult but I am hoping that it helps me in the long run for when I have off plan days, that are either planned or not planned, so that I don't get completely derailed. It has been a "skill" I was missing and has been one element (of many elements, and I'm working to improve all of them) that played a role in keeping me from being successful at staying on track in the long run.

I haven't claimed smilies on those days, even though they have been planned for, because on those days I still had either foods, or an amount of calories, that I wouldn't normally have on plan.

Now I'm going to transition into planning less of those days and see how that goes.

I hope everyone has a great weekend! :)
