OK, I fell off this weekend. It all started Saturday night when friends were over. They brought a ton of junk with them. Even though I
had enough healthy things around, and I held off for a while, I got hungry and started in on some chocolate chip cookies. Ugh, not even homemade, just from a store. I was drinking some wine and I think that makes me more hungry and lowers my resistance so I need to be more careful about that.
Then, Sunday morning. OF COURSE there were leftovers from the night before and of course I felt icky from all the wine, so... well, I won't go into details, but let's just say I didn't even hold out for the good stuff!! Just nasty processed stuff. Why o WHY
Dinner party last night and I already knew it was going to be white pasta. So I brought a salad, but for the most part just gave up and enjoyed the meal, including dessert (with berries at least) and wine.
So I am a bit frustrated with myself that I can do so well for 3 weeks then crash & burn. I am trying to learn from this and some of the key things I have taken away from this weekend are: 1) ALWAYS make sure there is healthy stuff around when people are over, or I am at someone else's house (bring crudites and hummus, for example) 2) eat before going somewhere where less-than-ideal food is being served 3) watch the alcohol - stick to the 1-glass serving, on Phase 2 of course.
Wow, nothing new there. I guess I should add 4) stick to what you plan to do! That's the hard one!
So I'm going to be hanging out on Phase 1 a few more days ...
LaurenBelle - I never got into the egg muffins either, at least not ones made ahead. But some people swear by them, so I don't know... for sure heat them up, at least the wetness will be gone but they might be even more chewy... I often just microwave a beaten egg in a coffee cup (with added cheese, spinach, whatever) - it takes about a minute to cook and for me at least, tastes way better than the baked-ahead eggs.
Aimee - I hear you on the carrots. Look at my ticker - it has carrots
and peas on it. Sad.
