Unusual bikram class today. One of my fave instructors was scheduled but she got stuck in bad traffic and didn't have a cell phone. We didn't know what to do but one of the regulars started the class. We stayed on schedule and the instructor made it about 20 minutes after class started. I was impressed with all of us....no one left or complained. There was even a brand new student there.

July 24: 95 minutes Bikram Yoga after my "fun" day getting my physical and my crown. My mouth is so sore tonight!!
Ran 3.84 miles, which took me about 40 minutes, and an interesting thing happened: As I was running, a real runner came by: Tall, thin guy with a bandanna around his head and a long, smooth easy stride. As he ran by me, I picked up something of his rhythm & pace for a few seconds and thought, "Wow, this feels ... right ..." and then he blew past and I lost the rhythm and went back into what I was doing, which feels very bumpy, landing hard, with too much upper body movement.
Wednesday 7/24: 30 minute heavy weight workout, 30 minutes on the bike - 8 miles
My heavy squat is back up to 120#. I'll never get below parallel with a bar on my back with my tight hamstrings and shoulders, but I get pretty solidly even to the horizon. I feel good about that.
Just 30 minutes on the StairMaster, re-learning what I already knew about how individual machines vary widely in their settings. My usual resistance level of nine & random intervals was unsustainable. I had to drop to seven, and then, after 32 minutes, grab the side rails. And then drop to five. I felt afterward that I'd done enough & did not need another 30 minutes ... but stopping at 30 minutes will fill me with guilt for the rest of the day
60 minutes back & biceps routine. The lack of 12.5-lb and 17.5-lb dumbbells in this gym (which nevertheless has dumbbells that go up to 125 lbs apiece!!!) made me drop lower on some exercises and attempt higher on others.
