Welcome to our new thread!! :welcome2: :)

Arabella - That does sound like a very nice New Year's Eve! Sounds so relaxing. :) Good for you for being so on track!! I can't wait to see where you will be come mid-summer. And thank you for the comments on my maintenance, so far to be honest I've found it fairly painless, just keep on keeping on basically, except I get to eat a bit more which is always nice! ;) I've maintained 6 months now.

Susie - Throw that fudge out girl! :) I do that sometimes too, I just keep sampling it...I do try to keep a rough calorie count when I do that, but when it's something I just can't stop with I tend to feed it to the kids or just get rid of it. I have very few guilty feelings about getting rid of food, especially when mostly it's junk food anyways I'm getting rid of. I second Arabella though, keep really good track and drink lots of water and you may be surprised!

Anyways as for me working today, and then have a study group at church tonight. Hope everybody has a great day!

Our new thread looks so warm and welcoming..Thank you Liz! :)

I am able to get on today at work...about to take a break for lunch. I have some noodle soup, peanut butter and crackers and pears and water.

Had a wonderful 2 mil walk last night with a friend..planning on walking again tonight at the Y. I'm thankful for that indoor track. I might do the treadmill tonight. Just depends when I get there on what I will choose (and maybe who I can watch on the! ;) )

Liz: The fudge is gone. I only get it once a year (thank goodness!)
I hope to one day be ok with throwing out food..especialy junk food.
Thank you for sticking around here with us and showing how you turned your weight-loss into a lifestyle. AMAZING job for maintaining for 6 months!

Arabella: You are 55 lb away from ONDderland and I have a goal to loose 52 lbs this year..those numbers are close....let's do this! We can and WE WILL!

Carri: Did you watch BL last night. I'm excited to talk about it....I love the "No Excues" theme.

Is anyone else watching?

Hi Mel: I see you on FB...please drop in here too!
Hi Dee: Looking for you to be here soon
Hi Auntie G: Hope you will stop by soon.

Hi Girls :grouphug: I hope your Holidays were wonderful :wreath: Ours were & I'm burned-out, I'm ready for a 3 day vacation w/o any stress, just sleep & playtime. We had our 4 grandbabes for 4 days here with us & those were the most fun days with them.
Liz :hb: on your 6 month maintenance!
Carri :snow4: we got 6"-8" snow*, yes 6"-8" of fluffy*beautiful*snow* between Saturday-Monday :snowglo: DH & I are so happy.We'll go hiking this weekend in our snow-shoes :bunny2: & he ice-fishes & I ice-skate.
Susie  A PBS dietician has lots of free-healthy/Diet Yummy recipes that I've made for food programs @ tops. they are mainly sugar-fat free. My DH & grandbabes love everything of hers that I've cooked.
Arabella :sunny: It is sooo wonderful to have everyone back. Susie & I are joining you with logging our daily meals :p
Wed.= 3 c. coffee w mini candy-canes to stir, 1 vanilla soy-protein drink, medium chef salad, 2 bread-sticks, 1 c. milk, 2 c. green tea, 2 pork egg-rolls, Lots of water.

Umm, does anyone have a 'elliptical trainer' @ home & do you love it, I want another activity to do? I wrecked a knee while snow-boarding 4 yr ago, I must avoid twisting my knee now & so I can't ski/snow-board anymore :(

Okey-doke. Yesterday was good, got in all my steps and :yoga: I've been doing it at 6 when DH heads out for a walk. I dim the lights and put on soft music and that seems to make it more appealing. That's four consecutive days of yoga. I just logged my steps for the month, too, and averaged out to over 10,000 a day despite not getting my total every day.

I was hungry yesterday and had a stressful afternoon. Could see where it might go off the rails but pulled it back.

2 boiled eggs
1/2 grapefruit sprinkled with pomegranate seeds

Small bowl steel-cut oats with yogurt

turkey-veg soup, 1 p. flax bread with 1 T PB

1/2 c. tamari almonds (this was the thing that could have turned into a binge. Didn't intend to eat so many but still... could have been much worse.
Chicken-broccoli Alfredo, heavy on the broccoli.

1 small beer, 1 small glass red wine. (I haven't been having a drink most nights. I think that was probably the stress again.)

Dee, I love hearing about all your exercise! I do tai chi too, although I haven't in a while. I do Taoist style but would love to learn Yang. I don't have an elliptical at home but I like the one at the gym. I think I'd recommend it.

Susie, you are ON, girl! Let's see now... oh my! That's just a pound a week -- surely we can average out to that. And, of course, if we get serious, we can probably make our goal well ahead of schedule. :D

Liz, it's pretty obvious that you've made the adjustment to healthy, non-obsessive eating habits. That's where we're all aiming to go -- thanks for showing the way!

OK -- going to go put the laundry in the dryer and get to work. Let's make this a good one!

Morning All - hope you all had a great New Years ...we hung out with friends till 2 in the morning, drinking and eating, haha ...great times :D but I did something to the ligament in my left knee and it has been giving me troubles off and on since then ...I woke up with it tucked under my other leg on new years eve and it has been trouble ever since, hope it just works itself out.

I am SOOOOO jealous of you guys that got ( and are getting snow ) ...our Winter has pretty much sucked so far ...warmer temps and little to no snow...I want my Winter !!!!!! :coolsnow:

Liz - thanks for starting the new thread, I never pay attention to the numbers but I know we always go really high...I also want to throw in a compliment to you about you sticking to maitenence...they say it is harder than losing good for you girl !!!:hat:

Susie - yes I did watch BL Tues night and I am excited about the new theme too, and it is RIGHT up my alley...haha ...

Arabella - Sounds like you are getting back on track and doing a great job, yes 2012 is our year !!!! I am with ya !!! :cb:

Well I have started back on and am doing my usual slow approach at first so I dont feel like crap and get a ton of here we go girls !!!!

Have a great day everyone !!

01-06-2012, 02:18 PM
Well..the fudge caught up with me. I had a .75 gain at TOPS last night.
I will get it off this week plus more, so that I can keep my average of 1 lb loss each week.

I really thought I would be in worse shape than that, so maybe I didn't eat as much as I thought or I moved more than I thought.

I'm back to using my Lose It app DAILY! That has been a good tool for me.

Busy weekend for me. I have a church brunch in the morning, then getting my hair done and then we are going out with friends that night.

I'm planning on getting started back to working out on Sunday afternoons at the Y this Sunday.

Carri: The slow approach is good for you. You want to feel good and I know when you quit the sugar all together you have bad slow is good. How are you feeling?

Liz: You mentioned a bible study in one of your posts. What are you studying?

Arabella: I have been doing 10 min of yoga in the morning and 10 min at night..because you inspired me to do so...and I feel so much better!
Glad to have you join me for the weekly average 1 lb loss challenge. I am going to try to lose more than that but I will be content with that. If I do's 52 lbs gone!

Dee: I don't have gym type machines at home but I do use the ellipitical at the Y and I love it. I don't do the incline very steep. I see people do that and if they think about it, they aren't working their total leg and buns...i want it all sleek and sexy! ;) and it also helps the knees to not be so steep. to get back to work.

01-07-2012, 04:33 PM
hey everyone! i think i'll hop on the onederland express... i'm hoping to get there by my birthday in october! 60ish pounds in 9 months is entirely doable :)

01-08-2012, 08:07 PM
:welcome: to Mandy. This is a great thread and these ladies here are so supportive. We come here when we are doing well and we rejoice together and we come here when we aren't doing so well and we support each other and help each other get back on track.

I find it helpful to post daily if I can.

We had a great weekend. It was busy with all the things you have to do on the weekend but still a great weekend. I even got my car sweep out and wiped down inside. I know that Carri and Dee and Arabella like the snow but I sure was happy with our 50 F degree weather this weekend.

I have been having a hard time logging my food (here and on my Lose It app), so I started doing it again today and I will share it tomorrow.
I love the Lose It app because I can put in a goal and it tells me how many calories I can have daily (based on my current weight and what I want to get to and how many pounds I want to loose each week) and I can easily see if where I am in that calorie count.

Dee: Your hot tub area sounds like Paradise! Our neighbors have a fire pit and they are all sitting outside tonight around it.
Sorry to hear that you can't get the elliptical right now. What about getting some hand weights and a exercise ball and doing that? You can do circuit training 3 times a week using those items for 20-30 min.
If you need some ideas let me know. I have done classes like that at the Y and they are a workout! The way it works is you do something cardio for 2 walk or march in place or do jumping jacks or squats or lunges. The the next 3 min you do something with the weights working your upper body.

Hello to Carri, Arabella, Mel, Liz and Auntie! Looking forward to your posts!

01-08-2012, 08:49 PM
I'm about 10 lbs away so I hope to be there in March sometime :)

01-09-2012, 11:17 AM
Good morning All, hope you all had a great weekend...mine was pretty good...didnt feel so well yesterday, lots of bugs going around here at work so I guess it is only a matter of time ( knock on wood ) , didnt lose any last week but I didnt figure I would since I am just slowly creeping back in for a couple of weeks.

Susie - I have a love/hate relationship with that Lose It app ...sometimes I just love putting things in there and other times I find it lengthy and annoying...but either way I know it helps.

Dee - the hot tub does sound nice ...I could never have one where I am at now though, too many neighbors, I need to move out into the country and get away from everyone.

Hi to Liz, Mel, Arabella, and Auntie G !!!!

Hope you all have a great day !!!

01-09-2012, 12:16 PM
thank you susie and doodles for the welcomes!

happy to say i've got a plan in place. an old plan, but it worked in 2011 to help me lose over 50 pounds (in about 5 months).... i'm hoping that means it can help me lose 60 pounds -and get to onederland!- in 9 months (ambitious i know, but 9 months from today is my birthday... it's really a 2012 goal, but it would be nice to reach it by my birthday.) :D and if i don't hit 60 pounds lost, then i won't cry because i'll still be down several more pounds, and that's something to cheer for.

over the last few months i've expanded out of my size 18 jeans, and i'm hoping to squeeze back into them by the end of the month. :D

01-09-2012, 04:31 PM
Arabella - I don't know about non-obsessive but hey it's working so whatever!!! :D

Carri - Thanks!! And yes I want winter too, Jacob is so excited to do snow angels and so far all he's been able to do is flail around on the lawn, when there was a little dusting of snow on it. he was convinced he did a perfect angel though despite not being able to really see it. :) Mind you I did enjoy our super long bike ride on Saturday in warm temps!!! :dizzy:

Susie - It's a study about how we as a congregation can work to be more welcoming and inclusive with lesbian/gay/transgender people at is about what the bible has to say on it and we're watching a video on it which is supposed to be very interesting - I don't remember what it's called. I'm going to be helping to facilitate small groups so our meeting was about the facilitation process (I've never done it before), our first session with the general participants is this Wednesday. I'm quite excited to see what the feedback is like!

Welcome Mandy!!! Sounds like your timeline is reasonable, and like you said it doesn't matter as long as you're headed in the direction of your goal!! Good luck!

drivenbyambition - Welcome!!!!

Anyways gotta run the kids are bugging me, to you all later!! :)

Hi Everyone  Well, this afternoon I taught a 'adult doggie obedience training session' & few people commented about 'crocus & hyacinth' shoots appearing in my flowerbed :o as they came inside, they typically shoot-up in March. What is happening to our northern winters

I'm going to cruise the web this week & hopefully read reviews from people who got 'really good' weight loss results using from practical, not gimicky diets & work-outs :exercise:
If any of you all find/try something 'outstanding' please give us the scoop on it:goodscale Weight Watchers was reported #1 last week, Dash Diet #2 & South Beach #3 as the 'Best Diets nation wide' w/o purchasing the Diet Food Meal programs like J.Craig, Nutrisystem, etc.

Carri, what is your fav site that you use for logging meals or inspiration?

Susie, do you live near or go to the Columbus Zoo in the winter? I love Jack Hannah & want to take the grandbabes there this summer.

Liz, what was the most helpful diet that you used while losing wt.?

Mandy, keep up the positive thinking & your body will make your thoughts become a reality

:welcome2: DrivenByAmbition, Join us whenever you can stop-in :smug:

Have a Great week girls, Dee:goodscale

Morning All day down of no soda yesterday...and I am really craving it, but I know it is just empty cals I dont need :(

Liz - I think what your congregation is doing sounds many churches ( like the one I grew up in ) dont even allow different lifestyles in and I think that is kudos to all of you :hat:

Dee - I do really like the Lose It app on my Iphone and that is what I normally use...I also frequent the WW message boards and they encourage me but by far I think watching Biggest Loser each weeks helps me stay on path...I am considering buying Chris Powel's new book, I like what he has to say about carb cycling.

HI to everybody else, have a great day !!!

01-10-2012, 07:18 PM
Two "have to do things" on my list today and that is to get here to catch up with all you lovely ladies and to go to the Y for my walk.

I'm here and I have my workout gear on so after my post I can shut down the computer and head out the door.

Ladies, yesterday I just about threw in the towel with trying to lose this weight. Work is CRAZY with me working my new job and my old job--I did start training my replacement today.

I hadn't had much water, my lunch wasn't satisfying and when I get home I ditched the exercise for milk and oreos! Not proud of this at all! I screamed, I yelled, I cried and I went to bed.

This morning I got up, logged my calories from yesterday (I was still under by 25) went to work, kept my head down and plowed through. I took a cereal bar to work with me, had skinny burrito at lunch and drank my water..and here I am, posting and about to go out the door to walk. Now if I would just take a moment to breathe! ahhhhhhhhhhh.....that's better!

I am looking forward to the Biggest Loser tonight--Carri..we will watch it "together".

Carri: The soda is hard to kick but I know you can do it. Don't give in. I did on Friday and it has thrown me off track for a couple of days..that sugar craving is high from it and I'm back to fighting it off again. I know you can stay strong!

Dee: I live about an hour from the Columbus Zoo. We go in the summer..haven't been in the winter. If you bring the grand-kids sometime, let me know...I"ll get my nephews and meet you there..and we can walk and walk and walk...

Liz: Keep me posted on the bible study. Good for you for going on that bike ride on Sunday.

Mandy: Good for you for having the plan in place. I'd love to hear more about it.

DrivenbyAmbition: Welcome!

Arabella and Auntie: We need you here with us! to run...well...walk...see you all tomorrow.

01-11-2012, 11:48 AM
Morning Girls !!

Susie - What is up with Bob and Dolvette and their annoyance of eachother...that was a little crazy last night ...I didnt notice any of that last season but they really seem to be getting on eachothers nerves this year...I was glad the guy who left went home...but I did feel bad for him in the end...he should have turned it around in the house before he got voted out...

Not much going on here...nose is stuffed again ...seems to be after certain meals that it clogs up...I have heard that it can be an allergic reaction to some food ( maybe dairy ), but I am getting annoyed by it ...

Anyway hope you all are having a good day, talk to you later.

01-11-2012, 03:06 PM
Susie - Good for you girl, you had a hard day and decided to get right back up and try again! And anyways - you were under your calories anyways (I always call that a win!! :)) Life is going to be crazy anyways, so you may as well just keep on keeping on! You can do it!!

Dee - I have always just done calorie counting, and that's what I've been doing in maintenance too. I don't restrict any particular group of foods, but try to eat healthy and include treats in small amounts!

Carri - I agree with you about churches, my church is fairly progressive in that area and some people are very uncomfortable with it and have left - but I'm very happy with how things are there (as are the majority of us). Good job on the no soda - hope your nose is feeling better!! :) It is annoying when you can't breathe properly!

As for me just working away....things are busy lately and I'm feeling stressed out! Too much going on with work and kids and just, everything. lol Oh well...I feel like I need a vacation already....groan....anyways hope everybody has a great day!

01-11-2012, 04:30 PM
susie -my plan is a simple one. i count calories using myfitnesspal and only eat between 1pm and 9pm (hubby and i are both night owls). i've found that IF works best for me. i eat a normal sized brunch meal around 1. small snack around 4. dinner's between 6 and 7. snack at 9. then bed around midnight. hubby and i will typically go to the gym either at 9 or 10 (when there's a weekly tv show on we want to watch) or before dinner. it's easy now because we're both home all day (most of the time) while he's on his winter break for school and i don't have a day job. side note: it's funny how nobody wants to hire you when they know you won't be around more than 6 months.

everything is going fairly well, minus a few false starts. white chicken chilli last night for dinner was great. i made sure to use the reduced sodium beans and broth. the night before i went over a bit because i had planned on rotisserie chicken then we couldn't get it... and we had to have steaks because it was the only meat thawed. it had been in the freezer for a while so to combat the freezer-flavor i topped it with some spaghetti sauce, onion and pepper slivers, and light mozz cheese. turned out very good, so i can't complain about going over on the cals. and the day before that i was trying to make something in the toaster oven, only it didn't shut off when it was supposed to and burned to a crisp - complete with a small (contained!) fire and lots of smoke. we were lucky the smoke alarms didn't go off. the day before that every time i went into the kitchen to cook, i dropped the food on the floor as i was preparing it.... unlucky!

but today i had a light breakfast. grapes and a glass of skim milk... cause i plan on thoroughly enjoying the spaghetti dinner i've got ready to go. i've just got the sauce on to simmer. mmm.

01-12-2012, 01:42 PM
Hi All!

Busy days for so many of us; I know its hard to get here but I feel that this is what keeps me on track. So please help me by coming as often as you can.

Tonight is weigh-in. I have no idea what the scales will say. I don't "feel" like I lost or we shall see.

We are supposed to get snow today and tomorrow---I am thinking I might send it to Dee and Cari and I think Liz wanted some too?

Cari: I noticed the Bob and Dolvette and their annoyance of each other thing too. I don't know why it is there. Maybe because they have different couching styles and I think I hear Dolvette say he has to beat Bob (I think he said that last week), so maybe its that Dolvette is making it competitive and Bob only makes it about the people he is working with?

If I were at the Ranch, I would want Bob as my trainer..his style would motivate me more--especially when it was him and Jillian. It's not because Jillian would yell so much is was about how she did it--I always saw through it. She was preteneding to be tougher and not care more than she really did. With Bob, he is what you see.

I will have to say that I think Dolvett is HOT! ;)

How are you doing with the no soda?

Liz: Vacation sounds good! Remember to be good to yourself in non-food ways when you feel that stress coming on. You have to take care of Liz in order to take care of the other stuff.

Mandy: thanks for sharing your plan. I just took at look at your ticker and I see that you and I almost started at the same "place". You have done well..and I know you will keep going. I'm watching you to see how its done! :D

Mel, Arabella, Dee and Auntie: Where are you guys?!:?:

01-13-2012, 11:51 AM
Morning All - still no soda today is a week of no soda week down...once I really get it out of my system I dont really care ...I love water anyhow and we have Ice Mountain delivered to our house monthly in the five gallon jugs that we put on top of a cooler ( like the one's at some business' ) and it really hellps to have nice cold water anytime you Ice Mountain is my favorite...

Susie - yes everyone knows Dolvette is an extreme hottie, haha ...I would also like Bob as my trainer...and I really miss Jillian...but I understand she wanted to move on...we did get about 3 inches of snow yesterday and last night and I LOVED it !!!:snowglo: Good luck on the weigh in

I am so glad I made it to Friday, we have a three day weekend because of MLK day and I am so thankful, need a break already

Hi to everyone and I hope you all have a great weekend !!! Stay OP !!

01-13-2012, 07:13 PM
TGIF! I have a 3 day weekend too!! But I will most likely work a couple of hours from home cleaning up my work email.

Right now I'm doing one job at 100% and training my replacement and my other job at 35%. It was only supposed to be 25% but I kept track this week and it turned out to be 35%. It's ok..I will survive it!

We didn't have TOPS last night due to the snow. We have a lot of "mature" ladies and I they don't brave the elements. So, I will just have to wait until next week--it gives me another week to work hard to show a big loss for 2 weeks.

Carri: You are doing a great job with the no is hard to get off it but once you do it's awesome. You have done it before and I have faith you will do it again. Seems like you always have good losses when you don't have soda in the mix.

I am happy you have your now can it be over?! :dizzy::^:
It doesn't have to get hot but I would love to not freeze even in my coat!

Have a great weekend everyone; I will be around off and on and hope you are too!

01-13-2012, 10:26 PM
susie - i got it done before thinking "i really don't want to be 300 pounds when i get married..." that was mid march, and by my wedding day (two months, one week later) i had lost 30 pounds and the day before my wedding i weighed in at 268 or 269, don't really remember, but was under 270, and thrilled that i could do it. i had a reason to lose the weight quickly and it worked well. i kept the momentum going after the honeymoon and got back into my weight loss plan and within 2 weeks had lost the 7.5 pounds gain from the honeymoon, and was back on track... by the time i had to move in august i had lost a total of 50 pounds. pretty much all of august was a free for all while i moved from VA to SC and got started working a new job. but i managed to re-lose the gain from that plus a few more pounds down to 246 and that was all well and good, but then birthday, halloween, thanksgiving, travels, christmas, new years, etc happened and i'm not entirely sure how much i've regained. but right now i'm just trying to re-establish my healthier habits (counting calories, reducing them slowly, drinking all my water like i'm supposed to, and exercising regularly)... then come february 1, i'm recording everything and getting back to what worked so well for me last year.

01-13-2012, 10:37 PM
Jumping on the bandwagon here!

had a good day. Went for a walk and stayed on plan. Just need to avoid the late night munchie monster now.

01-16-2012, 05:57 PM
It is very quiet here. Where is everyone? I am having the hardest time getting my "game face" back on and I have no idea why. BUT..I won't give up. Every day I will try.

I will say I'm a pit disappointed as I was doing so well, but I must move forward right?

Looking forward to hearing how everyone else is doing.

Cherrypie: :welcome:

Mandy: I think I will try what you are doing now: "just trying to re-establish my healthier habits (counting calories, reducing them slowly, drinking all my water like i'm supposed to, and exercising regularly)... " that is really the way that works. Thanks for sharing it with me!

01-17-2012, 12:19 AM

healthy eats today. well, mostly... my pb-honey sandwich on whole wheat was more calories than it was worth i think! but the chicken stirfry and brown rice for dinner was delicious and full of veggies and lean meats! and i clocked the bowl full at 500 calories.

made it to the gym too! did 35 mins on the elliptical (and it said i burned approx 330 calories) and 25 mins walking at 2.5 speed, 3.0 incline burning about 150 calories (according to the machine).

i hadn't been to the gym since just after thanksgiving! i was so worried i would barely be able to do the 30 mins plus cool down on the elliptical, but i managed that plus treadmill time to finish out the hour we were there to watch castle AND I DIDN'T FEEL LIKE I WAS GONNA DIE. so happy with that. :) going back tomorrow night to watch white collar!

01-17-2012, 09:39 AM

Hello ,

I have not been on the site for several months and am back up to 207. Holidays kinda got me. It could have been worse. At least I am working out and walking.

Anyway, back on the express and moving back into Wonderland.

I feel remotivated. I admire people who don't take a break but guess I needed it. I'm here now!

Interesting...I forgot how to move the ticker...I guess I'll just leave it there for motivation!!!!

01-18-2012, 12:20 AM
hey ladies!

hope everyone is doing well :)

mostly healthy (though on the salty side of things) foods today! greek yogurt, and chicken, and veggies and fruits... and a trip to the gym that made my thighs cry. the cross country trainer on the treadmill is a beast. the 12% incline is now my personal foe and i will defeat it!

01-18-2012, 11:21 AM
Good Morning Girls - sorry I havent been on in a few weekends get the best of me and I dont think to get on the pc ...I have been doing so so, like Susie I am having a hard time getting into the mind set, which I hate ...I did have soda again this weekend ( confession time ) another set back ..did weigh myself yesterday and thankfully am still where I was a month ago although I dont know how I am managing that, but I am very thankful ...

Welcome to the people who keep popping in ...can't keep up with it all ...

Susie - Yes, we wont give up, just keep forging ahead and think of the doc appt is 2/28 and that just keeps getting closer and closer, may have to reschedule, haha

HOpe everyone has a great day !!!! I am craving chicken salad ! :D

01-19-2012, 11:16 AM
SNOW !!! Its dropping like crazy right now...we are only supposed to get 1-2 inches but it is coming down pretty hard so we will see ...had a good day eating wise yesterday...better than I have been ...bought some good low cal, high protein snacks for work so I wont be tempted to go to the snack machine here with the cookies and chips that I crave !! haha

Anyone else getting snow? Mel ? Susie ? I know you guys are in my path of it ....

HOpe everyone is having a great day !!!!!!

01-19-2012, 11:21 PM
good days make me happy... days with slips that i manage to account for and still stay within my calories seem to make me even happier :D today is one of the latter... and i'm feelin good after a trip to the gym!

01-20-2012, 11:49 AM
Morning All - in another Winter Storm watch tonight, thankfully not until after we get home from work and I dont have to work tomorrow so I say "bring it on", haha

k-fy - good job on the workout and managing to stay within calories with a slip...I know it is hard to do ...your ticker shows great numbers, good job.

Where is everyone else hiding? Cold keeping you away? haha ...Dont stay away because you aren't doing well ...its not keeping me away lol

HOpe everyone has a great weekend !!

well had some good days this week and some not so good days. Hope I didn't do too much damage.

01-20-2012, 05:00 PM
satine - my ticker is currently incorrect. probably by about 20 pounds or so (judging by the fit of my smallest pants) after a hiatus that unfortunately lasted several months. my first goal upon returning is to make it correct heh. we'll see how bad it is on feb 1 when i start back up my daily tracking of my numbers. right now i'm just trying to reestablish my habits.

01-20-2012, 10:34 PM
Hi Everyone,

I had one busy week! I am currently training someone for my position, usually 2 days a week but we had a offsite all day meeting yesterday, that actually was very motivational. I am also doing 25-35 % of my new role while training this person and then doing the work on the days she isn't there.

I'm getting a bit tired and it's showing, as I had a .75 lb gain at TOPS last night  All because I just haven't been making it to more than 1-2 workouts and really not eating enough but what I am eating isn't helping me to burn fuel rather to store fight. So I have 1.50 lbs to get back off to be where my ticker is and I AM going to do it this week and I will have at least 2 lbs off so I can get back on track with the numbers and where I want to be.

I logged my food today and I am well within my calorie range. Tomorrow I need to work a little harder on making it more balanced. I'll get there; I feel the mind starting to work back to that "mind set".

Carri: How you doing with the no soda after having some last weekend? It is a hard thing to get off of and then if you slip and just have one it starts the cycle again. I know it all too well. I know you can do this. So, you have a doctor's appt set and you want so much off by then?

We are to get the same ice storm tonight as you are getting. I feel the same about it as you do, it doesn't bother me when I'm home and don't have to be anywhere.

We also got the snow the other day that you mentioned and it sure was COLD! I can do without that bitter cold.

Cheerypie: As you know this is a journey so there will be good and bad days. Let us know how it turned out for you.

Visionary: I remember you. :) Welcome back!

Mandy: How is it going reestablishing your habits?

Arabella, Liz, Mel, Dee, Arabella and Auntie G: We miss you!

01-20-2012, 10:35 PM
susie- it's going well! i find myself craving the 'bad' stuff less and less frequently! slowly wean myself away from them was the idea, and it's working :)

01-20-2012, 10:47 PM
ugh. I need to seriously regroup tomorrow

01-21-2012, 11:33 AM
We have ice and snow this morning.

I am glad we don't really have to go anywhere. We might go to birthday party for one of our friends grandson this afternoon...he calls us Aunt and Uncle.
I will be careful with the cake and such!

I wanted to share a NSV (non scale victory) that I had last night and has set my mindset right for the day. Last night after we ate dinner (for another friends birthday celebration) my DH wanted to get a milkshake. He asked me if I wanted one. I thought about how late it was, how full I was and so I said no...made me feel awesome this morning!

Have a great day everyone!

Cherry: The weekend is a good time to can do it!

01-23-2012, 01:58 PM
How's everyone doing? I have the Monday fog going...trying to get back into the working mode.

I'm having a great day though..all my co-workers keep commenting on how "thin" I really feels great! So, note to self, wear these black pants and hot pink sweater more often! :D

I have done well over the weekend with staying in my calorie range on my Lose It app.

I'm looking forward to hearing from everyone.

01-24-2012, 01:47 AM
went to the gym today... tried running on the treadmill... did a bit of alternating.. one minute running, one minute walking. so proud of myself for running! :D this is like my pre-c25k stuff.

01-24-2012, 11:18 AM
Good morning Girls - not much going on here, hanging in there ...

Susie - yay on the NSV for the milkshake and also for the compliments you got at work are doing a GREAT job !!!! Keep it up.

I actually brought my lunch today so I dont have to go out ( so cold ) and figure out something to that is an NSV for me, haha

Been pretty dark and cold and dreary here the last few days...but I am think we might get some sun soon.

You all have a great day !!

01-24-2012, 03:25 PM
Hi Susie & Carri, It sounds like we r all feeling the gloomy days of winter. It's hard to be motivated without the :sunny:

Cherrypie & Visionary :welcome2: I hope our thread helps you both.

Life has been complicated so I've been MIA the last 2 weeks here. It's good to be back, I do enjoy my 'free therapy' from my 3FC friends here. Like I gained 2# during the past 3 weeks from eating w my hubby again. He's had cravings for my 'homemade raviloi, pizza, etc.' plus carb-rich desserts & 'I get fat cooking & sampling' :hungry: Where is the King's Royal Taster :queen: sooo I don't get fat tasting everything I'm cooking.
The snow has a icy coat on it, sooo no snow-shoeing for me. The gas prices r up again & so we can't ride our snowmobiles much now :bike:
We need 1 month of winter w beautiful fluffy white snow to play in; not this nasty ice & slush :( Then spring & summer to be back!
I'm ready for summer, I miss my fresh garden foods :carrot::broc:

Does anybody own the Kindle Fire or the Nook Color & how do you like it? I've read several tech reviews online, but I only have 4 friends that own one & I'd like more feedback. TY for your comments on yours.

Carri, I used your: "To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world... " as my closing in this month's club newsletter, as editor I need to keep finding new ways to keep it fresh monthly. If you have a source to get more, please PM me w it or post it here for me TY

Time to go put a DVD in & move to loose those 2#. Yesterday I bought a dozen 4 oz. canning jars to put my food portions into & eat my meals from. No more measuring excuses for me :cheer2:

Liz, Arabella & Mel You all r missed, please stop by & say 'hello'

2012 :val3: ~~~ *Think Small * Eat Small * Be Smaller* ~~~

01-24-2012, 09:39 PM
STRESSFUL work day here. I'm about at my wits end doing 2 jobs.

Just about 3 more weeks of this. It should get better next week as my replacement will be with me full-time and she will be executing my current position's duties and I'm just there to answer questions.

Both of my positions require keeping a lot of data and information straight and current so it will be nice to focus on one batch of info.

I worked out last night but came home and napped tonight after work. I just was so mentally and physically tired.

My food is going pretty well this week.

Dee: So glad to see you back. We are here to help you get that 2 lbs back off.
I don't have a nook or a kindle fire so I can't help with that.

Carri: Good job on packing your lunch! That really is a NSV.

K-Fy: Good job for starting the running on the treadmill

01-25-2012, 12:55 AM
1600 calories on the foods today. and an hour in the gym!

i'm back on track, for real this time, and it feels great!

01-25-2012, 02:51 AM
I've been focusing this week on not snacking and not counting calories. So far it's going well. My meals usually aren't too bad but I have a bad habit of starting snacking that turns into grazing that turns into binging. This has really been a problem the last couple of months.

01-25-2012, 11:30 AM
Morning everyone !! Hope everyone is having a good day …I myself am not …well got TOM this morning …and if any of you remember I am on the three month pills so I only have one every three months so when I do get it I whine terribly, haha …and of course I am overly hungry , wanting soda and chocolate, and have two pimples on my 38 year old face….so fun, fun, fun ….just waiting for the cramps to get here and then all will be complete. Lol

Dee – I don’t remember where I got that but don’t you just love it ? I sent it to my dad one day and it really made his day…I go online a lot for quotes…there are several sites that are just quotes, so go on there and you will find a lot …don’t worry about your two pound gain, you can get that off easily enough, plus you had some good times with the hubby too, right? I don’t have either a Kindle or Nook, I still like the feel of a book in my hand so I can’t go to one of those…but I know a lot of people love them.

Susan – Sorry you are so stressed at work, hopefully that lets up soon. Hugs.

K-fy – good job on the calories and the gym, keep it up !!!

Cherry Pie – I hear ya on the snacking, I tend to have quite an issue with that as well …I need to have good things around me to snack on if I am gonna do it anyway….right now it is little goldfish crackers…but I know I probably need something better for me, haha …good luck

Hi to everybody else….where has Arabella been?

Have a great day everyone !!

01-27-2012, 11:15 AM
wow ....ghost town huh ? haha ...Hope you are all doing okay ...have a great weekend !!!

01-28-2012, 02:41 PM
Hi! I survived the work week and had a .75 lb loss at TOPS. I have lost one of the .75 lbs I gained so next week I want to get that .75 ld off and 1 more lb so I can be at my average of 1 lb a month. If I loose more than that a month I am happy but right now, until I can totally focus on the weight-loss and get myself to the gym more than a couple days a week I am ok with that average.

I feel I should have things in place by March 1st to get start getting to the gym more consistantly. I'm shooting for more before then but I know with closing my old role at work out and starting my new role at work that it will not be consistant.

What can be consistant is staying in my calorie range. So I will start reporting that daily again. Keep me honest ladies!

Carri: Sorry to hear that TOM arrived. Thank goodness you only do it every 3 months huh? Be strong with those cravings and give yourself more need it anyway at this time and it will keep that hungry feeling away.

Cherrypie: Good for you for finding the area where you are struggling and focusing on that. I would recommend that if you do snack, or want to, add up the calories and see how many extra ones you got invested in that snack before hand.

Carri & Cheery Pie: I know how it feels to just "want something" and they say we should eat every 3-4 hours to keep blood sugar even and keep the metabolism going. I've been snacking on try ceral like Oat bran or Quaker Oats. I feel the exta fiber is a "good" thing for me. Just besure if you increase your fiber you increase your water (which is also good for you) or you end up with "concreate" :o

K-Fy: Applause for you for getting back on track and for real?! Keep it up.

Arabella: We are looking for you. Miss you!

Dee: It was good to see your post the other day, and I got your email. Hope to see you here again soon. I got my new TOPS News in the mail today...did you get yours?

Liz: How are things going in "Maintence Land". We always love to see you here. Miss you!

Auntie G and Mel: I'm about to send out a search party. Where are you guys?

Visionary: I think I saw you pop in a while back..hope to see you again soon.

I better get back to cleaning the house, then going to the grocery with my DH...and he said we would eat dinner out--I'm thinking Bob Evans.

01-28-2012, 06:50 PM
 Hope everyone is doing well.

01-29-2012, 12:55 AM
K-Fy: Applause for you for getting back on track and for real?! Keep it up.

i totally thought that said applesauce...

01-30-2012, 11:23 AM
Morning girls, hope you all had a good weekend, I did have some regular soda so wasnt so good but hey :D

Dee - I won't do diet soda because I wont do anything with artificial sweetner in it ...long story about why...but I just don't have it ....but I do drink a TON of water all day long at work and if I have a soda I am really only having one in the the summer I always have a pitcher of water infused with lemon or lime, love that ...and yes you are right soda is better than all of the things you mentioned, hahaha...I also like to make a lot of things ahead and portion it out, makes it so much easier for me because if it is going to be hard I wont do it, especially after a long day at work....

Susie - TOM is over thank God as of yesterday...and now I am free of it for three whole months...gotta love modern medicine, haha ....I too like to snack on cereal at work...because I do just sometimes want something...I do try and have something substantial though every three to four hours ...keeps me going.

Hi to Liz, Mel, Arabella, Auntie G, Visionary, Cherry Pie and K-Fy ( is there something else we can call you? haha )

Hope you all have a great day !!! I know it is hard because it is Monday, but try :dizzy:

01-30-2012, 03:07 PM
satine - you can call me mandy. it's my name and much easier :P (it's up there under my screen name if you forget!)

01-31-2012, 11:16 AM
Hi everyone !!! And thanks Mandy that is easier ...haha ...hope everyone is having a good far I am ...I got a really good night of sleep last night and that has made all the difference, feeling good...actually shaved my legs last night too, haha ...I have a hard time doing it in the winter because I normally who think "who is gonna see them?" but I think dh was getting sick of seeing them, so I caved and shaved lol

this is just a drive by post ...hello to all !!!!

02-01-2012, 11:11 AM
morning everyone!

today is my first weigh in in MONTHS (aside from a quick peek on a random bathroom scale a couple weeks ago) and i'm crazy nervous. i know it's gonna be a huge regain and i don't want to see it :(

i've got all my spread sheets at the ready to keep track of my weight and measurements and i'm seriously excited about getting back on track. i get the feeling i'm going to have to work crazy hard to see onederland by my birthday in october. it's 8 months. and i think i'll have to lose between 8 and 10 pounds per month to make that happen. i'd like to hit that goal by my birthday simply because i know in the months after my birthday through new years it will be a food fest free for all. i'm hoping i handle it better than i did in 2011. yikes.

02-02-2012, 11:20 AM
Morning everyone ....really quiet in here lately, hope all are okay ...

Mandy - so how did the weigh in end up going? I also would like to lose 8-10 pds a month...I will be going on vacation in Sept to see friends so I would LOVE to have off 50-60 pds by then ...would be wonderful. Yeah unfortunately for me the holidays thru New Years is usually a free for all with food too ...gonna try and be better in 2012 but we will see :D

Not too much is going on with me ...trying to make my grocery list for next week...getting sick of lunch meat sandwiches and baked chips for lunches here at work ...seem to need more protein ...might switch out the chips for cottage cheese and maybe the bread with a higher protein ( lower carb ) wrap...gotta re-tool my menu main snack staple is this spicy hummus I buy at is SOOOOOOO good ...I love spicy things...I make my salsa super hot too ...

Well hope you all have a great day, miss you guys. :(

02-02-2012, 11:21 AM
also forgot to ask did anyone watch My 600 Pound Life last night on TLC ? Very interesting ...definitely made me feel better about myself or a while

02-02-2012, 01:56 PM
I feel like the "groundhog" peaking my head out! But I'm finally here!

This week has kicked my butt. I have been helping my brother out for about 4-5 hours after work with his boys as his partner is traveling this week and that left him at home alone with a 2 yr old a 10 months old and a Great Dane.

I finished my "babysitting" last night, I have my replacement at work executing the daily jobs in my old role and I've just about got things and a system set up for part of my new role.

It feels good to see a little "light" at the end of this transition tunnel. I feel like I can now get back to me!

I have no idea what those scales will look like tonight at TOPS.

Carri: I didn't get to watch that show last night and forgot to DVR it. I'll have to see if I can find it online.
I haven't watched Biggest Loser for this week yet. I plan on catching up on it tomorrow night.

I like your lunch time swap idea with the cottage cheese.

Mandy: How did it go at the scales?

Both of you have special dates in the fall of the year that you want to show significant weight-loss for and so do I. We have a wedding to attend in PA in October and I would love to have 30-40 lbs off by then. So, let's keep these Fall dates on each others radars and keep one another on track.

I think I will add a ticker for mine.

It's good to be back with you guys and I hope we hear from the others soon!

02-02-2012, 03:25 PM
heh the weigh in was worse than i thought it would be. i gained exactly 30 pounds from october through january. which is always a bad time for me. it starts with my birthday celebration, then halloween, then thanksgiving, then christmas and new years, then NFL play offs and the superbowl... (football is big in my family) and all of the church and campus events and travel that go along with the holidays. it's a wonder i didn't gain it all back! (i gotta hold on to somethin, since my net loss is now 23 pounds instead of 53 pounds)

if i want to lose 76.6 pounds (to get me to 199.9) by my birthday, i have 36 weeks (ish) to do it. which means a little over 2 pounds per week. (2.12 actually) and i know that's really super ambitious but i know it will come off faster than that in the beginning. which means it can come off a little slower than that at the end. I WILL MAKE IT HAPPEN! heh. and if not, and i only lose 60 or so pounds... hey, i will still have lost 60 pounds by my birthday. i can't think of a better present to myself :)

02-03-2012, 11:34 AM
Morning Girls, TGIF !!!!! I want to relax this weekend …of course I will probably be staying close to home base all weekend because of the superbowl here in Indy…crowds will be crazy …I made reservations at a steak house we like to eat at on Sat and they could only get us in at 3:00 …so late lunch I guess …places are crazy busy around here right now …good thing I am north of all the real craziness…don’t know who I am rooting for …I guess I would say the Giants …because of Eli Manning being the brother of our Peyton…haha …so GO GIANTS !!! We will watch the Superbowl and probably just make wings at home with celery and blue cheese …something we can both have and by making them at home I can control my portion and calories …and also gotta watch because I am a huge Madonna fan ( don’t know if I have ever shared that or not ) …so gotta see her at the half time show!!

Mandy – I hear ya …I gained 20 pds between Halloween and New Years …usually always happens, nasty cycle …so right now I am at 236 …and I want to lose 8-10 a month to get to at least 50 pds lost , to get under 190 before we go …preferably I would like to be under 180 but we will see how it goes …I know we can both do it if we put our minds to it …who is more powerful ? Us or food? We run our lives, not food !!

Susan – great to hear from you again, haha …yes please find that show on TLC and watch it …apparently it is a 4 week series, so on again next week with a new person…it was truly eye opening…her visit to the grocery store in the beginning brought tears to my eyes for her …people are so cruel sometimes…and yes I LOVE cottage cheese, I like to top a serving of it with a tablespoon of sunflower seeds …give me some crunch for texture and some extra protein…tastes great too …

I probably won’t hop on here this weekend so hope you all have a great weekend and enjoy the Superbowl if you are watching. See ya !!

02-04-2012, 07:33 PM
Spending the weekend quietly. My DH can't believe we aren't going to or attending a Super Bowl party. We will watch the game at home, or rather DH will watch the game and I will watch the commericals and the half-time show.

Mandy: You can so make that goal and like you said..if you get to 60 lbs or 50 or even 40 by your's still a great present to yourself.

Carri: You can make your goal...get tough and do it! I will be looking forward to the Madonna half-time show as well. I will share that I even had a black lacy glove and wore it to clubs when I was out dancing in my 20's! :D

Ladies, I have a big fat 1 lb GAIN on Thursday night....wake up call for me. I need some tough love here.

Hi Liz, Dee, Visonary, Auntie G and Arabella! You are missed.

Mel you are missed to...I KNOW you are on the come and visit us.

02-08-2012, 02:47 PM
Oh ladies too much to catch up on, so a hello and how are you all doing post from me!!

Susie - I'm sure you saw my post on facebook but thinking of you!! :)

Things are going well here, I took the day off yesterday and Jacob and I went swimming - so much fun and he's getting so good! He had his 4th birthday Jan 13th and I am so impressed by my little guy and how fearless he is with doing lots of stuff - he is very physical and loves to be active, so we definitely want to nurture that! Honestly there is usually at least a moment everyday, especially with him running circles around me, that I am so thankful that I lost weight, I have no idea how I would keep up with him otherwise!

We also had Katie's 2nd birthday so lots of partying last month! I can't believe they're 4 and 2 now - time flies. Sigh. :) Other than that maintenance is going well, I've very consistently been floating arond 133-135 which I am very happy with. Still counting and weighing daily!

Hope everybody is doing well!

02-08-2012, 04:55 PM
hello ladies!

wednesday is my weigh in day, and i am happy to report that i am 3.1 pounds closer to onederland :D it's awesome that during a week that was more offplan (food wise) than on.... i still managed to lose. i'm thinking it was the extra workouts i threw in knowing i was gonna go over my calorie limit thursday thru sunday.

02-08-2012, 05:00 PM
WOO HOO Mandy!! It probably was the extra workouts, I know when I am more active I can definitely eat more and stay the same weight. :)

02-08-2012, 08:32 PM
Hi Everyone. I am sorry to have been MIA for a few days.

Work got really busy and I have been working about 12 hour days and then not feeling well--my IC seems to be flaring up.

I haven't counted calorie one or exercised this week. I will start fresh this weekend. Starting next Wed, Feb 15, I will be working only one position. Praise the Lord!

Liz: So good to see you. You inspire me with how well you have stayed on course and I love your comment about why you are so happy you lost weight--great reason! Your little ones are growing up fast!

Mandy:Congrats on a fantastic weight loss!

How is everyone else?

02-09-2012, 11:20 AM
Morning Girls....hope all are doing well :)

Liz - You inspire me too think you started where I am ( and I was there with ya then ) and now are 100 pds less and have been keeping it off ...I look to you for my example

Susie - Hope things are getting better for you...I am in your same place as far as not having counted cals the last week or so, but also like you I look forward to re-committing this weekend when I get my groceries.

Mandy - AWESOME job on the loss !!!!!!!

Hey Mel and Arabella - miss you

Not too much going on here, working, eating, sleeping, farting, burping, etc ...hahahaha, there is your laugh for the day.

See ya

02-09-2012, 11:43 AM
Carri - lol nice thanks for the laugh!! :D

Susie - I didn't know you were working more than one job?? ouch! Glad you'll be down to one (which is normal, btw ;)) very soon. Hope you're feeling better very soon!

How do you ladies work your meal planning? Do you plan things out in advance or just rotate through the same kinds of meals? I find I am in a rotation, and not a very interesting one at that. I am OK with things I guess, but sometimes I wish I was more creative and bought different things at the grocery store. Any favourite recipe websites you might use/know about?? Looking for some inspiration! :)

02-10-2012, 11:21 AM
Morning Girls !!

Liz - I plan my meals for me and dh a week ahead ...usually I do fRiday night or Saturday, then grocery shop on Sunday for the week...that way I only have one weeks worth of food at a time...and can stick to my 100 a week budget dh does low carb eating and I tend to do the same with him at least at dinner I visit a lot of low carb recipe sites, which probably wouldnt be helpful to you, haha ( Linda's low carb is the one I like the best ) ...I also like to go to, they have a lot of great recipes and ideas...

Dee - GREAT job on the loss !!!! I was starting to wonder why we hadn't heard from you in a little while ...I am also doing the no candy for Valentines this year...I would rather have a low calorie lobster meal anyway. :)

Hi Susie, Mel, Mandy, Auntie G, and Arabella !!!

Hope you all have a great OP weekend !!!! We need to start telling our losses again once a week ( if we have any haha ).

See ya

02-10-2012, 02:11 PM
hey kids...

i'm on day 3 of the yuck. yay winter colds :( it's really messing up my workout schedule. it's awfully hard to go sweat and breathe heavy if you are freezing and congested and coughing. BLAH.

on the flipside, i'm not very interested in food, so i'm staying within my calories. heh. oh sickness. you are a poor diet.

02-11-2012, 12:27 PM
Hey Mandy, try hot juice like tomato w chili powder, or soup, so you don't get dehydrated. When we're out & either of us, r sick like you, we go to LaSenorita, or where they have 'hot/spicy Mexican soup' which helps burn calories also, Asian/Chinese soups work too. But you need it spicy or add pepper to 'decongest' & lose some body fat.

Carri  TY for saying my favorite fishy 'Lobster'. Now I can tell my hubby that my friends r eating Lobster for Valentine's, so maybe I'll get to eat it :p instead of the Chinese/Thai he wanted.

Arabella - Susie - Mel - Visonary  You r missed.

Happy Valentine's Day Chick's :val1: Dee

02-12-2012, 06:21 PM
dee- that might work if i liked spicy foods and could eat them without having major reflux lol... but we're doing much better now. between the hot tea with honey and lemon... the diet soda for the carbonation.... and the water that i had to keep near me because of my dry throat, i'm sure i stayed hydrated! heaven knows i had to pee a lot.

anyway, my weigh in this week (on weds) probably won't be all that great because i'm making a yummy dinner for my husband for valentine's day. lasagna, red lobster cheddar bay biscuits, apple caramel upside down cake... i let him choose the meal and the dessert and promised him i wouldn't be calorie police on valentine's day. i told him i'd eat my yummy dinner and the chocolate he bought me and like it. :P though i'm hoping to make it a double workout day (tuesdays usually are) to help fight some of those calories.

hope ya'll are having a good day!

02-14-2012, 02:55 PM
Happy Valentine's Day ladies!

Dee - thanks for the website suggestion - I'll check it out sounds like what I need!

Carri - I wish I had the discipline to do it a week ahead - I try to plan meals and then when the time comes I'm like oh no I want this instead. lol I like allrecipes though - I go there quite a bit but I should check it out more!

We're having DH's mom over tonight for pizza dinner (how romantic, lol)....I don't really want pizza because it is a trigger food for me but she is insistent she wants to get it for us. I'm going to use this as a test to see if I can hold myself to 2 pieces!! Wish me luck! :)

Hope everybody has a great day.

02-14-2012, 05:32 PM
decided to weigh in today instead of tomorrow for a more realistic number. i know tomorrow will show a bump because of my husband's choice of lasagna for a valentine's dinner, and my promise not to be calorie police today. so, good news... another 3.1 pounds closer to onederland! :) 270.3 today... 6.2 down, 70.4 to go. 34 weeks to do it (my 29th birthday).... 2.1 pounds, average, per week. i can do it!

02-15-2012, 11:23 AM
HI GIRLS !!! Sorry I have been MIA but I have been so sick ( as those of you on my fb know ) ...bad sinus infection, was off work Monday and Tuesday and would like to be home now but what are you gonna do ....I did however start back strictly on my diet Saturday like I said I was going to ( despite feeling like utter crap ) and guess what ?????

drum roll please .................... I am down "4" pds as of this morning !!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Everyone,

LONG work day here. It was my first official day in my new role. I felt like a fish out of water.

I am still working at the same company that I have been with for 5 yrs but working in a different Global Business Unit than I have been in so it's like being in a differant country for me. While we are all the same Company, each GBU has its own products and slightly different ways to accomplish the work.

I am also in a different building than I have been in for the past 5 years so I don't know to many people or where things are. It will all work out..just have to give it time. I am still excited about the role---and it was a promotion for me! :D

Dee: That is a GREAT loss! Good job. That system is really working for you. I will share it at my TOPS meeting.

Liz: We plan meals for the week (and I have a cook who comes 2 times a week and fixes our meals) so that helps me to stick with what we plan at least Mon-Thursday (we do leftovers on Tues and Thursday); we try to cook on the weekend but end up going out a lot.

Carri: I hope you get to feeling better soon but WOW and I am proud of you for sticking to your guns, while sick, and it sure paid off at the scales for you!

Mandy: Hope you are feeling much "stuff" going around.

I have no idea what the scales will look like tomorrow night but it will be what it will be and to change them going forward is up to me (it always seems to come back to that doesn't it? lol ;)

02-15-2012, 09:05 PM
dee - the only reality show we watch (i say 'we' because hubby and i rarely watch tv separately) is the voice. i will confess that i only started watching it because of a crush on blake shelton :P but it is actually pretty interesting, and the 4 judges are pretty funny (cee lo green is entertaining like you wouldn't believe).... and i love that the hosts watch the prerecorded stuff (that's on now, the blind auditions) and they post their tweets during the show across the bottom of the screen. other than the voice, mostly we watch crime dramas (castle, bones, white collar) and hubby really likes royal pains, so i watch that with him. they are our exercise shows... we go to the gym to watch them because we don't have any kind of cable in our apartment.

susie - i'm feeling much better, thanks! the only issue i seem to have as right when i wake up. but getting up and moving seems to clear the rest of the fog :)

carri - congrats on your 4 pound loss... even if it comes at the expense of comfortable sinuses. i hope that gets better soon, and makes work easier for you. i hate sinus infections, i think they are the worst sick you can have!

02-16-2012, 11:23 AM
Morning All, had a good OP day yesterday :)

Mandy - I LOVE The Voice husband and I always watch it ...I like it because they don't bring people on who can't sing just to make fun of them ( like American Idol, haven't watched that in years ) ...and yes Blake Shelton is a cutie. :D

Susie - You have someone come to your house and cook? Wow, that sounds nice...that would be so helpful if you worked a lot. Hope you get acclimated
( did I spell that right ) quickly...I am sure you will do a great job. Good luck on the scales.

Last night dh brought me home some fresh tulips from the flower store and a small bag of Bugles ( love those things ) because he knew I wasn't feeling well ( those of you on fb already know this haha ) was sweet and I was able to only have half of the small bag of Bugles and put the rest up which is a big accomplishment for me. :)

I am feeling better today, things are definitely starting to loosen up and come out ...getting more snotty day by day, haha

have a great day all !!!

Hi Chicklets  we had a crazy 4" snowfall :snow4: overnight & today it warmed-up & is melting already, so I didn't have my tops WI cause the roads r nasty & schools are closed.

Carri, yup the romance is alive in your home :val3: your DH is a sweetie-pie.

Is Christina A. still on the Voice, I Love her voice. Yup I Love to watch that show when my NBC signal isn't fuzzy. Isn't it amazing that Christina & Brittany Spears & Justin Timberlake & Lance Bass were all Mickey Mouse Club kid stars the same years, singing together. Cee Lo is a 'hoot' on the voice :dizzy: I got Blake's autograph & pic @ a airport a couple of years ago, his eyes & smile r sooo sexy in person

Mandy, My DH also watches the crime dramas like you do too. What is royal pains? A British biggest loser?

Susie, Liz, Mel, Visonary, & Arabella :grouphug:

~Think Slimmer~~Eat Slimmer~~Be Slimmer~ Luv to you all, Dee

02-17-2012, 02:33 PM
Carri - those tulips are beautiful!! I love tulips. Glad you're feeling better!

Susie - Congrats on the promotion!! Hope the scales were good to you! I'd love to have a cook.....sounds like a great time saver!

Dee - That sounds really nice, to change a favourite pattern into another outfit altogether! I wish I had talent like that. :)

Well I didn't stick to my 3 slice limit :o - I made it to 5 slices. Naughty! :) So I've been trying to be good - but I've been a bit more snacky than usual, so up to 136 right now. Oh well just have to be a bit more careful and get it back down again. We have a holiday on Monday (I think you guys do too, for us it's family day and I think you have president's day?) - and we're headed down to Rochester, NY on Sunday and we're going to stay overnight - we're going to go to the museum of play there, I am so excited! Hope everybody a great Friday!

02-18-2012, 11:41 AM
Hi Everyone!

I am sitting here posting and DH is in the kitchen making breakfast, bacon, pancakes and eggs.

We always have a later bigger breakfast on Saturday and then we eat a snack in the afternoon after the house is cleaned, then we go get grocery's and order dinner out when we come home or we might be having dinner with friends so we go out. Tonight we are taking DH's dad out to dinner tonight for his birthday. We do cook on Sunday.

As I'm sitting here reading the posts, I'm just smiling and DH asks me what I am smiling about and I told him that it's just all of you make me happy and inspire me and keep me in touch with myself. So THANK YOU!

I had a 1 lb gain at TOPS. So, I am up 3 from my lowest weight (288) in a long time. My focus for the next 2 weeks is to get below that 288 number. I just have to keep focused and the way I do that is to come here and read and post everyday, use my Lose It app and get back to the Y 3-4 times a week.

I survived the 1st week of my new job. They already gave me an additional assignment for my work plan. I will be preparing the agenda and taking the minutes for a Leadership Team meeting.

We have Monday off (President's Day) and I will spend a few hours working so that I can get a bit more organized and hopefully start working that way in this role.

My managers calendar is crazy and I have to keep up with it. I'm new to supporting her so I'm just learning the meetings she has to attend or is a Sponsor off. I have to ask her all the time about conflicting meetings and her priority, so we sat down a bit on Friday and went over her recurring meetings and which ones are have to's or like to's or should be for her so I can start managing it myself without having to wait and ask.

I'm making a spreadsheet of all that info so that it is at my fingertips and I can look at it and quickly process the calendar invites and move what needs to be moved. Information at my company comes fast and has to be handled quickly and correctly. As we are Global it can be challenging at times with all the different time zones. I guess that is why they call it "work"! lol

Many of you commented about me having a personal chef twice a week. It has been a great thing for us since we both work and have a 45-60 min commute both ways daily.

We have done this for a little over a year. My personal chef is a young family friend who has been going to culinary school for the past two years. She will graduate in May and in July she is headed to Mexico for 1 yr to do a mission trip and teach the cooks at a orphanage there how to use the resources they have to make healthy and different meals. The past two summers she went to this mission and worked with them for 6 weeks, doing a lot of things beside the cooking and she feels called to do this.

So, I'll be losing her in July. I don't have anyone lined up to do this for us after she leaves. I'm praying that I will find someone I can trust to come in and do it for us.

Carri: Tulips are beautiful and one of my favorites. How nice of DH to do that for you and congratulations for not eating the entire bag of bugles at one setting...that is a great NSV! I am glad to hear you are feeling better..and getting more snotty! lol Drink lots of water to get that stuff moving, thinned out and gone!

Dee: I hate it when the bad weather keeps me from my TOPS meeting.
We had a great meeting this week, very uplifting and building excitment for weight loss.

In the newest issue of TOPS news there is a program that utilizes a bingo type game. Have you seen it? We are using it as an ongoing thing to get ourselves moving and trying new ways of exercising and getting back to exercises we used to do. The square they pulled for this week is walk 1/2 mile. I do have that on my bingo card and it's something I do pretty regulary daily (I usually walk 2-3 miles a day when I am in a routine), so I've got this week square covered!

The first person that "bingos" will have a choice of an exercise ball, kettle balls or exercise bands.

I wish you could come and cook for me..and sew too! It's hard to find people to do those things.

Mandy: I LOVE it that you and your DH watch those shows and exercise together. I am going to mention this to my DH and maybe we can do that at least one workout a week together. I want to get him back to the Y with me. It helps me to go as well when he is going to.

Liz: I LOVE pizza too! I'm sure you will get that 3 lbs back off and at your maintence weight. Have fun at your time in NY...sounds like a great time!

DH is telling me breakfast is ready. I feel so great now that I have started my day with all of you. I KNOW it will help keep me on-plan today.

02-20-2012, 08:53 AM
It was a great weekend and I was on plan most of the time. Went a little over my calories on Saturday with eating out.

I am off work today and getting ready for my day. I have some things I want to get done this morning, then this afternoon I'm going to watch a movie or nap. Meeting a friend at 7 p.m. tonight to walk the indoor track at the Y. We have found a 5K Walk/Run (i will be walking) Race to do at the end of March..time to start training. We want to finish it is 50-55 min. Shaving a little time off each race that we enter.

Hope everyone has a great day!

02-20-2012, 11:18 AM
Morning Girls I am pretty jealous of all of you that have today off ...I work at an ins company and we don't :( Oh well :D

I had a good OP total loss for my first week back on was 4.6 pds so I am very happy with that, although I realize I wont be able to keep that up long term...just want my normal 2-3 per week ...well most likely 2

Liz - You are doing so great with maintenence, you are so smart about it I wouldnt worry about the 5 slices...I have such a pizza issue...I LOVE it !!!

Susan - glad to hear the job is going well ...guess it will take some adjustment time ....dont worry about the gain, you can get that off pretty easily...and make us smile too

Hi Dee !! Hope you had a great weekend ...and Hi to Mel, Arabella, and Auntie G as well.

Hope you all have a great day !!!

02-20-2012, 05:34 PM
dee: royal pains is a medical drama on USA about a 'concierge doctor' (hank) his brother, and his physician's assistant, that basically do house calls for a bunch of rich folks in the hamptons. it's pretty interesting, but my husband likes it a lot more than i do. :)

well, it's monday and that means we're gonna put our gym clothes on, go sit on a comfy leather couch for 2 hours and watch the voice, then at 10 head down to the gym and workout while we watch castle. woo!

i posted this on MFP: so, in my collection i have a few "walk away the pounds" dvds, a "yoga for beginners" dvd, as well as the full set of "billy's boot camp" dvds. considering switching out my afternoon walk (it just doesn't get my heart rate up anymore!) for 30 mins yoga/30 mins billys boot camp (alternating)... last time i tried the boot camp DVDs i couldn't get through the first 10 minutes before i felt like i was gonna die. i think i could do better now.

i'm tryin to make up my mind on this i LIKE walking. but it's just not the workout it used to be (yay for that)... tryin to turn it up a notch.

02-21-2012, 08:23 PM
Hi. It was back to work today and it was a busy day.

I am having so much trouble getting into a regular workout routine and I find it surprising as I used to love to work out. It's just that when I get home I am tired and so I take a few minutes to relax and then I don't want to go back out. I do well for a couple of days and then my workout partner can't make it and so I just don't go.

I know if I start getting into a regular routine that I won't be so tired, but it feels like a catch 22. I would love some advice/input on this.

My food is good and the good part of my new work area is that I have to climb 20 stairs daily to get to my desk.

Carri: WOW! What a great loss!! That is a good way to jumpstart and feel really good about what you are doing.
Sorry you had to work yesterday.

Mandy: I am a walker and I love it but I think it is good to vary the workout routines so you should try something new.
I don't see myself ever getting to where the walk doesn't get my heart rate up because when that starts to happen I just increase the incline.

02-22-2012, 11:19 AM
Morning Girls :sunny:

All going well here, snuck on the scale this morning and was down another pound, I have said I am only going to weigh myself every Saturday but the scale got the best of me and had to peek...My goal is two a week though so hopefully I can squeeze another one out before Sunday :sumo:

Susan - I am not a good person to give advice on working out...I hate to do it and I rarely do it ...I am thinking about buying a bike to ride on the trails around our neighborhood for the Spring though ...figure that is something I enjoy...they say food is 90% of the weightloss so I never really put much thought into the exercise part except that I know in a few years I will be 40 and I need to tone up as I lose as well. :jig:

Had to dvr Biggest Loser last night, this has been the first season of it that I am not real into it ...I think it is the cast, especially Conda, I want to go and kick her butt around a little, she drives me nuts with her attitude...but I guess I will watch it tonight ...

Also tonight is the last episode of My 600 Pound Life , I have loved watching that show and will be sad to see it go ...this one ( per the previews ) seems like it might be the best one yet ...If you have missed them all I think I saw that on Saturday ( maybe afternoon to evening sometime ) they are going to run all four of them and I believe its TLC channel.

Have a good day everyone !!!

02-23-2012, 11:14 AM
Morning All ....just got done having my breakfast with a side of antibiotic, haha....I have been real into the Chobani yogurts lately for breakfast girls like them? or had them? It's a greek yogurt, I like them because they are not too sour, have a ton of different flavors to choose from and have 14 or more grams of protein per container ( which is great for yogurt ) and the one I had this morning, blood orange, was only 140 cals if you like yogurt and you havent tried them, give them a try, they are good ...I also had a granola bar to go with...I am excited because me and my brother are going out for lunch today and we are having SUSHI of my favorite meals....filling and low cal ...I will get one roll, a seaweed salad and have some edamame ....can't beat that and it will stay with me all day....

How are you all doing?

02-23-2012, 03:28 PM
I am on my way out with the kids right now but I really wanted to say hi, things have been so busy - I'm actually off this week but have less time in front of the computer since the kids occupy most every single waking second! I'm about to take them for a long walk in advance of all the snow that's coming! Them and the dog, since I know I won't want to take the dog out later. Hopefully I can be back on tonight and do some individual posts but wanted to at least say Hi! See, in the time it took to do this post, they got into two fights. Groan!!!!! :( :)

02-24-2012, 12:06 AM
i've officially started strength training :D

my arms/back/chest are gonna hate me tomorrow.

02-24-2012, 11:15 AM
Morning All ....tgif !!!! :carrot:

Mandy - how are you feeling today after the new workout? I know I would be sore my muscles don't get worked out at all haha

Liz - thanks for stopping in, we need you around to inspire us and show it can be done...and maintained !! :)

Not much going on here, just had breakfast and now want lunch :D

Hope you all have a great weekend !!!!!

02-24-2012, 01:58 PM
hey carri! i'm definitely sore lol. and it's weird because i like it. it means i pushed myself i didn't just go through the motions!

and re: chiobani... i don't eat that one, but i love the oikos by dannon! (it's cheaper and i'm poor :P)

02-25-2012, 02:30 PM
Carri, what restaraunt in Indiana serves fresh Sushi? Sooo wonderful to have a brother to eat out with, I envy you :smug:

Mel, Arabella & Susie :luck2you: I miss hearing from you.

 to you all, Dee

02-25-2012, 06:23 PM
Afternoon Girls, or I guess it is evening now here is freezing here only a high of 31 today and get into the low 20's here tonight so I am just hanging at home with the hubs and the dog ...

Dee - I am SO sorry for your loss, that is horribly sad ...will be thinking of you in this time of sadness. Hugs

My goal for the week was 2 pds but I actually lost 3 and a half per the scales this morning so I am super pleased and on the right track...have now lost a total of 7 pds in two weeks.

Have a good rest of the weekend all.

02-25-2012, 08:32 PM

It was a long work week but I managed to get my email down to 14 emails that I have to do something with. Much better than the 162 emails I had on Monday!

I am happy to report a 1 lb loss at TOPS on Thursday. I have 2 more to get back off to where I was on Jan 1. I WILL do it.

Today I haven't stepped foot out of the house. I did some house cleaning and wiped out the fridge before 9:30 a.m. this morning. DH went to the grocery and I wanted to clean it out before he came home with new stuff.

Dee: I am so sorry to hear of your friends passing. So very young and so very sad. to you. I will keep her daughter in my prayers as well as you. Friends are precious and sometimes we are as close with them as we are with family.

Carri: I have had some trouble getting into Biggest Loser too and for me it is due to Conda..she is irritating! It was a good episode this week though.

Liz: Did you get your walk in before the snow?

Mandy: What sort of strenght training are you doing?

Where in the world are Arabella, Auntie G and Mel??? :?:

02-25-2012, 09:52 PM
susie: i'm doing a lot of upper body stuff with an all-in-one gym because that's all i really have access to and i'm enjoying it. my husband is helping me :)

tonight is a strength training day and i'm excited :)

02-26-2012, 07:27 PM
It has been a relaxing day for me. I am about to go do some yoga here in a bit but that is about as strenous as it is getting today.

I have been on track with my food and calorie range yesterday and today.

It is pretty quiet here so I'm thinking you all have been relaxing too!

Mandy: I used to love strength training. It made me feel so powerful afterwards to have that soreness in my muscles from pushing them a little further than I thought they could go.
Keep up the good work.

02-26-2012, 09:40 PM
last night after doing 3 sets of 10 on 50lb for the bench hubby was like "let's see if you can do 90..." and i did, then he was like "hmm... let's see, try again"... then he was like "yeah, you just bench pressed 100 pounds with tired arms. good job"

i felt like some kind of god there for a second.

02-27-2012, 11:12 AM
Morning Girls ....hope you all had a great weekend ...I am still riding high on my weight loss for last is really helping me stay OP ...hope I can do it with dh out of town this week though...I tend to eat really bad when alone because no one can see me do it haha but will try and stay strong and active and then keep my mind off the food...

Mandy - great job with the weigh training...sounds awesome

Susie - congrats on the loss ...keep it up !!!

Nothing too exiting for me over the weekend, just lazing around basically...gonna REALLY warm up here this week...Weds supposed to be a high of 65 which is quite unheard of around here in Feb ....but it is Leap Day that day so the whole thing is kind of odd, haha

Have a great day everyone !!!

02-29-2012, 11:15 AM
wow quiet around here ...looks like we need to recruit some new members haha :D Hope you all are doing well....

Same ol' here, still sticking to plan and hoping to lose my 2 pds this week, I snuck on scale this morning and was only down a half of a pound but I know a lot can happen weightloss wise between now and Saturdays weigh in.

Liz - I cant remember, at what rate where you losing ? Like 2-3 a week or more? Seems like you got it off quickly but I can't remember how long it took you ...did you just stay around like 1500-1600 cals or how low did you go?

Hi to everybody, hope you all are having a great week !!!

Come back on and talk

02-29-2012, 01:41 PM
Hi. Carri is right, it has been quiet here.

My Director is in town this week so I'm in early to the office and leaving late and not taking lunch..just eating at my desk but today I decided I was jumping on here for a bit..I need to get my ONEDERLAND Gang fix!

While I have been having busy days in the office this week I am proud to say that I have gotten in a 30 min walk at the Y on Monday and Tuesday and it's so nice here today (Carri--we have 65 F degree weathier today) so I hope when I get home I can do the walk outside.

I have added a new ticker goal at the bottom of my signature. It is something I am working for by April 27 as that is Ohio TOPS SRD day (State Recognition). This is a very motivating event to go to. I haven't been in a couple of years but this year it is in Akron, OH and that is a nice "trip" for me and DH to make so I want to go and thought it was a great opportunity to challenge myself and work towards something.

So I am logging my food again on my Lose It app and getting in at least 30 min of exercise 5 days a week. That's the plan.

Carri: What did you think of Biggest Loser last night? Now about your DH being out of town. I am one of those eaters who eats more when people aren't around to see me, so I understand. (every ate a candy bar in the bathroom at 2:00 a.m.? or baked a cake and then had to bake another one so no one knew you at the whole thing?!)

As you know, you own the control over that and can decide to use it as a excuse or to conquer and I bet THIS time you can!

Mandy: You are going to have killer arms...and that chest will sit up high! and that's a good thing to have going for you---as you age, gravity is not kind! :dizzy:;)

I'm looking forward to hearing from everyone. Please come and POST!

03-01-2012, 11:14 AM
Morning Girls

Susie - that made me laugh about eating the whole cake and then having to bake another one, haha ...I haven't done that but have done similar things...and yeah I will eat a lot more when others arent around so I have to take control and be good.

I havent watched B Loser this week yet, I dvr'd it and will watch it maybe tonight or tomorrow ...the whole thing is getting ridiculous though, so hope this weeks episode was better than last weeks.

Hi everyone !!

03-01-2012, 05:54 PM
Chick's, What r your healthy-silly treats that you do :T
Susie & I made our confessions :o

DH just got home, I gotta go finish supper.

hi ladies and happy march!

getting my day sorted out, it's ending with a cook out. every friday i know it's coming, and every friday i stress about how much i'm gonna eat! today i think i'm gonna make a veggie and whole grain rice stir fry dish, so there's at least *something* healthy there to eat. :)

03-03-2012, 01:53 PM
Weigh in today ...was down another 2 pds down a total of 10 pds in three weeks as of today ...woo hoo !!!

Have a great weekend everyone !!!

03-03-2012, 10:58 PM
Wow Carri :celebrate::woohoo: on your Awesome Losses!

03-04-2012, 10:33 AM
I had a .25 lb gain on Thursday. I have no idea why, but I won't stress over that 1/4 gain. I don't feel it was "real".

What I am concentrating on is how good I felt about myself for staying in my calorie range all week last week and getting in my workouts and I will stay that course. I think that .25 and more will be gone this coming Thursday.

We went to the Arnold Classic yesterday in Columbus. I saw a lot of very fit people and people who take it to the extreme and I could feel that confidence that each one had in themselves.

I felt it wasn't because they knew they looked good (although you could tell they were proud of that), but more about the fact that they were in control of themselves and their hard work showed. They felt accomplished.

I want that feeling! and the only way I can get it, is to get out there and do it and recognize it as it is happening. Does that make sense?

Carri: Great job on getting 10 lbs off already this year!

Dee: So good to see you here!

Mandy: How did the cookout go?

03-06-2012, 08:11 AM
Hi Everyone,

I didn't make it here yesterday and I didn't get my workout in eithier. I tried to do our taxes last night. It's my first time efiling. I think I know have the Federal one done. As soon as it is accepted I will then tackle the State.

I could feel myself last night wanting something to soothe and comfort me while I was doing them but I didn't give in to that. I mean, come on..was food going to help me file them? NO!

I have a busy day at work today; everything still feels very new and it takes me forever to do something. At least that's how I feel. My manager tells me I'm doing great and I'm very resourceful.

So, that got me to thinking. I wonder how many other things that I think are not really as I perceive and how does this go hand-in-hand with my weightloss battle.

Anyone want to share their thoughts on that?

I hope you are are on plan and doing well. If so, come inspire me. If not, then come and let's figure it out together. Support comes in many, many forms doesn't it?

03-06-2012, 11:27 AM
Morning everyone …I had a good OP weekend…I haven’t had any kind of “cheat” meal in 3 weeks now…and I am about to crack for one…I have my annual blood work done this Friday AM and after that I am going to have a cheat meal this coming weekend….I am sort of thinking my body needs it as something different anyhow, everyday it gets the same 1500 cals and I am going to give it a little more one night, haha …not crazy over, but over …I think after 3 weeks ( well it will be 4 at that point ) of staying on point I deserve one meal ….I think …

After 3 weeks I feel pretty much in the groove but still have some bad craving days…I was VERY proud of myself for not having a binge day with my dh being out of town this weekend…normally I would do that every time …so I feel like maybe I am getting some control back finally …

Susie – I wouldn’t worry about the gain, not very much of one …I too am a comfort eater but am slowly re-training my mind to not go towards food for comfort but other things …what you brought up is good food for thought , will have to think about it …I know my dh is always saying that I perceive things differently than they really are …I know there is some truth to that …just keep moving forward and doing what you are doing…you will be in the groove in no time…I know it gets frustrating, believe me…

Dee – Thanks…I feel really good right now

With my depression I need to have something to look forward to in my mind all of the time, just keeps my outlook more positive and right now I am looking forward to Fall of this year and being at least 50 pds lighter ….

What are the rest of you looking forward to this year ?

:kickcan:Carri & Susie, we r on the same page & concerns often...We are like family  I am so happy that 3FC is here for us.

As long as we start-over, a small binge won't wreck being OP. Because we are here, we r determined to be healthy & slimmer & we are winningWeight is something we can fix, nomatter our personal reasons. It's within our reach & it does affect our future health, by preventing disability & diseases.

Carri, You r beautiful & have a wonderful future & You Are succeeding with your goals..We are Proud of You & so is your family :smug: If you have/go to Halloween parties, think about your goal & planning your skinny costume for it & Let that or your winter Christmas party Inspire you getting your body Slim again.

I'm looking forward to the warmer weather; cook-outs, camping, biking, I Luv the water, swimming/kayaking, walking on the beach, gardening/eating fresh foods, the flowers.
Spring & fall r also pretty, but they are the big allergy seasons & I hate the migraines I get from the pollen/weeds.

Susie, I'm serious about my family coming to the Zoo, & find a hotel nearby & come in July. It will be wonderful if we can meet & maybe get Carri to meet us too. With the gas prices, my DH is not certain we can do it this summer :( but I think I can convince him :o

 Dee

Morning Girls !!!

Dee - you are just the sweetest  Thanks for the encouraging words...I didnt know your dh ever had cancer, but am so glad to hear that he is okay now...I know financial stress is hard to deal with...and good for you on the snacks...I might use that idea, its a really good one ...I found these 50 calorie all fruit popcicle that I have been using my for week moments...because they are frozen it takes me a while to eat them and then I feel fine after that...
And you are right, weight is something we can work on no matter what is going on in our lives, stress wise - so I am glad I feel like I am on the right track now and hopefully can get all this weight off in 2012.

Yes, gas prices are HORRENDOUS, they are talking about them maybe getting up to 5.00 this Summer, that would put a stopper on quite a few things for would stink ...but they know they have us where they want us, we have to have gas, so we are screwed ! :D

Hope you all have a great day !!! Miss you guys !!

Hi Everyone,

So good to read the posts. I almost cried when I read what Dee wrote. I have way to many 'I should have done this'...'not that' times in my life. And I swear I don't want to turn 50 and think, "I should have lost that weight in my 40's".

I came here at the right time tonight as I was feeling very tired and overwhelmed. So much to do at home and work and then trying to keep myself on track every day. When I become overwhelmed, I overeat and then I start over.

I know when I have a slip up I need to just start over, but dang it..I need to get past only doing well for 2 weeks! BUT I WILL NOT GIVE UP!

Carri: I have kept popsicles on hand in the past to help me get over a weak moment. Thanks for reminding me of that. What kind did you buy?
I also like the idea of naming something to look forward to.

Dee: I really hope you do come to Columbus in July and I will for sure meet you there with my DH and maybe one a couple of my nieces or newphews. It would be so much fun. and just imagine in Carri and her DH came too! Wouldn't that be great?!

Ok. I feel much better now. I will go eat dinner and clean up the kitchen and then relax and get to bed early and hopefully tomorrow I won't feel so tired, worn out and easily defeated in the "diet" area of my life.

03-08-2012, 11:19 AM
Morning Girls.....

Susie - I got this new kind from Edy's, it was like a box that had three kinds in it and said it was anti oxident fruit flavors ( acai berry and blueberry, white grape, and I think pomegranite ) ...they are really good.
Do you live in Columbus OH ? That isn't terribly far ...don't know if I could get dh to come but I might be able to, if gas isn't 6.00 a gallon by then

Get my annual blood work done tomorrow morning...just want to get it done and see the numbers...I have always had high tryglicerides and for some reason last year they were good ( out of the blue ), so I am anxious to see if it still is and what all my numbers are.

Still staying on the straight and narrow food wise ...updated my weight on my Lose It app a couple of days ago and dropped 46 cals ( that I needed haha ), so have been a little hungry the last couple of days but haven't gone over calories...

Have a great day all !!!

Just came from my TOPS meeting and I gained--and it was a big gain 1 lb! It was all the handful of jelly beans I kept having each day an each night. I knew I would be up.

So, today when I left work, I took that candy dish and threw them in the trash and I did the same thing when I walked in the door at home. I KNEW not to buy them...who did I think I was kidding?!

I had the program tonight at TOPS and I did it on how we don't perceive ourselves as being overweight because a lot of times we don't look in the mirror. If we take a picture of ourselves it will help us get a better perception, so tonight we all retook our pictures.

I know I see a lot of weightloss success stories and always along they way they take pictures of themselves. So I have my picture and moving forward and downward on those scales!

Carri: Good for you for updating your Lose It app. Didn't that feel good?!
I hope you get a good blood work result back,

I don't leave in Columbus, OH but rather between Columbus and Cincinnati. Right off I 71. Both downtown areas are about 1 hr from where I live. I drive to Blue Ash, OH every day for work, takes me 40 min.

I think it would be fun to all meet in Columbus is the gas isn't sky high and we can do it.

Where is everyone? Liz, Mel, Arabella, Auntie G, Mandy..and Dee I know you have been here but not today. You ALL are missed!

03-09-2012, 11:14 AM
wow girls, I have some great news !!! At my last few doctor appts my blood pressure had been horrible, like 160/114 most times...well last month she put me on a low amt of bld pressure meds and told me to lose weight ( of course ), so today when I went back, after losing 8 pds since I saw here a month ago, my bld pressure was only 120/82 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :carrot::carrot: I am so excited, she was so happy with it, and I haven't had a good dr visit in a while ....will get my blood test results back probably in a week or so that is the next hurdle to get over, so hopefully all is well there.

I am also in the lead in the weightloss challenge here at work after only two weeks...hope I can keep that up too ...there is a nice little bit of prize money if I can.

Susie - Dont worry about the 1 pd gain, you can get it back off ...I think throwing away the jelly beans was a good start...Yes it would be nice to meet up :)

Well I gotta get back to work ...hope you all have a good weekend...I will try and get on here tomorrow when I do my weekly weigh in ...

03-09-2012, 03:48 PM
i'm here i'm here!

sorry i haven't been posting, but i do check in and read :)

i only got to record a .7 loss for last week (sad!) but i did get to bump up my various weights by 10 pounds each, so i feel good about that :D (also, starting to see a bit of definition in my bicep area)

did my taxes today and we're getting back more than we thought, so i'm in a very good mood... it means i get my heart rate monitor AND my ab roller AND the dvds i wanted. yay!

03-09-2012, 09:59 PM
:yay: Carri & Susie :cheer2: On both Your successes.
 Carri for your blood pressure # I know your doctor was thrilled to see you there much Healthier :goodscale
Thanks also for info about your fruit popcicles to us :p I'm buying some Saturday for a quick fix. There is no cure for the type of cancer my DH has, he'll be on a daily chemo. pill forever, oncologist says until his body rejects it/his death. He has side effects from it he tolerates, like most RX.

Have a Great Weekend  Dee

03-12-2012, 10:48 AM
Morning Girls….well I finally had a cheat meal ( or rather day ) Saturday…I told myself that I had been doing great for a month and decided I deserved one….so I did eat what I wanted that day and it was good, felt a little odd since I am so used to counting cals daily now….so today I get up and the scale shows me up 2 whole pounds !! 2 !!! I realize it is probably water from all the sodium I had that day and fat, but still …I realized I may not even lose anything this week and that makes me sad, feel like I will be working to get off those two pds, I don’t think it is possible to actually gain two pounds from one day …I mean they say you have to eat an extra 3500 cals to gain one pound, so that would mean I would have had to have eaten 7500 cals over what I normally eat to gain two pounds, so not humanly possible, but hey I guess stranger things have happened…I guess cheat days just don’t work for me…but again I did think I deserved it ..

Liz – did you have occasional cheat days when you were losing steadily ?

Dee – I am so sorry to hear about your dh and his condition …I know this is also very stressful on your as well…you do a great job of keeping your positive attitude up …makes me realize how lucky I am with my health, even with my small issues. Glad he has some meds that give him some comfort.

Mandy – nice to see you back on here, please come on a post more, we miss ya !!!

Hi Susie – hope you had a good weekend !!!

Miss my Arabella, Auntie G, Liz, and Mel on here !!

The DST has me SO tired this morning …getting up an hour earlier is really hard on this old body, haha

Have a great day everyone !

03-13-2012, 11:18 AM
Morning ....looks like just me again so far today :)

Nothing exciting going on, still trying to get the water weight off from my cheat day, now instead of it showing me up two pounds it only shows me up one...either way it still sucks...I will work all week to just get back to what I was last Saturday :( oh well, you pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start all over again .... right?

Have a great day everyone !!!!!!

03-13-2012, 03:46 PM
Hey Carri :luck2you: Yup, its quiet in here....Maybe the Leprechauns r out :patrick: playing their pranks, a few more days till St.Paddy's Day.
Carri, Don't feel bad about your 'cheat' I know your a winner & you will have that 1# off by Saturday & your WI.
:thanks: for your kindness about DH cancer. After you live w it & accept it.

03-14-2012, 12:40 AM
Gonna jump in here! I wanna get to onderland BAD! My ticker says my goal is 200 but my ultimate goal is 170...Hopefully by my birthday in october. (I was losing 8-12 lbs a month last year so I think I can do it!) If I dont make it that far well then...I will be happy with 200 by the end of summer :D Lets do this!

03-14-2012, 11:22 AM
Morning Girls ...well FINALLY I got on the scale this morning and the two pounds I was up Saturday from my cheat day are back to 226...which puts me in a MUCH better mood, you can imagine :) Now if I can only get off at least one more so I will show a loss for the week I will be extra happy :D

Dee - Just hearing you talk about dh makes me think I whine too much and that I could have it A LOT harder thank for sharing. I think it is so cool that you do some cooking and catering for a living...dh loves to cook, he is great at it, so he has always wanted us to open our own resturant but we have never been in a position to do that, but who knows what the future will bring. And thanks for the St Patricks Day reminder...I gotta go home tonight and get out my green nail polish !!

Dreamer - Welcome !!! Happy to have you ...we are all just working towards Onederland so hop on and join us !!! And good luck ...your numbers show you have done a GREAT job so far !

Hi to everyone else !! Hope you are having a good week ...Happy Hump Day !!!

03-14-2012, 01:27 PM
Thanks for the welcome satine! Glad to be back at 3fc. It's been a while. I think now that I have the motivation again (and now that I have the support of a boyfriend, he is working on losing weight too...has lost 20 lbs since we started dating 2 mos ago!) I can finally get outta these 240's that have plagued me for soooo long and get to goal!

03-14-2012, 04:00 PM
:luck2you: Welcome Dreamer, let us know how we can help u here.

Susie, where r you? Over-work & you'll b stressed & get sick, a crummy way to loose weight. Your sisters r waiting to hear from you  don't whine, You r a Winner :cheer3: I Knew you'd get that 1# off this week :cheer: It's so cool that your DH loves to cook :p I don't know about your town, but have u ever thought about buying a food-truck & cooking/selling from it? They r a big hit in big cities & college towns & @ factories.

My hamstring is better, but my DH won't get my bicycle out for me, it's hanging from the polebarn ceiling it's 65* :sunny: & I need my bike ride, even a 10mile ride would satisfy me today.

Hope to hear from you soon....Liz, Mel, Arabella, Mandy

03-14-2012, 06:54 PM
Thanks Dee!

03-14-2012, 08:32 PM

Dee called it; I have been sick! I woke up sick Sunday morning with some lower GI issues and aches. I was able to take care of the lower GI issues with the meds to stop that but my body was still achy. I slept most of Sunday. I hear it was beautiful outside for most of the country that day.

Monday I went back to work, pretty draggy, and then worked late on Tuesday but tonight I left on time and I am here.

And it is still beautiful outside! The sun and warm air make me feel good. It's not to hot yet.

My new work location is just beautiful this time of year and I found a group of gals who walk on their lunch hour; I'm joining them next week. If it's nice they walk outside and if not, there is a "trail" through the buildings that can be used for that purpose.

Dee: You have no idea how I wish you lived close to me. I would't make you rich but you would have extra income from me. As you know I'm loosing my chef in June and I'm always looking for a seamstress for repairs and hemming.

Carri: Glad that "free" day weight is gone, hope you will show a loss when you weigh-in.

Dreamer: So good to have you with us. Your ticker is inspiring to me; glad to have you on board! This is a great group and you will love it hear.

Mandy: Are you lurking? Come post..tell us what is going on. I find that reading everyone's posts helps me; even if they are struggling, it shows me how to get through it when that is what I am doing.

03-15-2012, 11:29 AM
Morning Girls ....

Dee - Yes, the first thing he and I thought of was a good truck...we would love to do that ...but like I said, we will just see ...there is this taco truck that moves around Indy daily and it is SO popular, people join their page on facebook just to know where they are that day...I think that would be so much fun...margarita is my all time favorite drink ( on the rocks only , extra salt ) so have one for me !!

Susie - glad you are feeling better ...I know it sucks to be sick when it is so beautiful out ...high 70's and low 80's in March ...what a freak show of a Winter, haha

Hope you all have a great day !! We are having a pitch in here at work today so I need strong discipline vibes sent my way to only have a little , haha

See ya

03-15-2012, 06:47 PM
2befit- Thanks for the welcome! I'm flattered my ticker inspires you, you will get here too, It is a long road ahead but weeellll worth it TRUST ME! Now no more sickness for you! ;) You need to be healthy so you can get to goal!

Satine- Here is some willpower dust for ya, you can do it! :dust: :dust:

Not much goin on here today. Ballroom dance final went well. No more ballroom dance class which means I need to find a new exercise :( Loved taking that class...le sigh. Other than that a bit stressed over my math final (YIKES!) but I have time to study for that before next thursday (Whew) Kinda dreary here and I ended up in a dress in pouring down rain (not so fun) Thank goodness I thought to bring a change of clothes for after my final LOL Have fun ya'll Gotta get ready for my orientation tonight!

03-16-2012, 02:14 AM
you caught me lurking!....

actually i was just really busy today with the mountain of laundry i kept putting off (my least favorite chore... folding laundry)! i think my sinus infection is slowly going away (thank you vitamin C - i don't like taking antibiotics if i can avoid it) though it did give me a bad enough headache that i only got to take a slow walk -and skip the strength training- tonight. :(

oh well, i did something and that makes me happy. also TOM is on the way out so he will stop having his way with my calories! rar! i stayed under today though, so yay! the last couple days were rough though with the sinus infection and TOM kicking my butt and making me resort to the behavior of a 3 year old. i didn't want to eat at all, all day, until about 5 or 6pm, and then i would stuff my face for 6 hours straight. then wonder why my stomach hurt. my husband was ready to stay with the neighbors, but bless him for being a wonderful nurse to my whiny butt. :P

03-16-2012, 10:19 AM
Good morning. We just had a wonderful thudershower here. It was relaxing to hear that rain. It's now over and I can see sunshine coming.

I am happy to report a 1.5 lb loss at TOPS last night. So I got that 1.5 off that I gained in the past 2 weeks and I'm back at my ticker weight again. Now to move that number down!

Carri: how did you do with the "pitch in" that like a carry-in? I really hate when they have those at's hard to control but I know you are strong and I bet you did stay in control!

Dreamer: I took some ballroom dancing classes last year and I loved it! My DH didn't so we stopped but we can now do a few dances at weddings and such. It really is good exercise. Have you every tried Zumba?

Mandy: Hope that headache is gone and great job on still going for a walk.

Ok..back to work for me. Have a great day!

03-16-2012, 11:16 AM
Morning All glad it is Friday ...we are going to the Black Keys concert tonight with some friends and dinner before ( will try and be good since I have to weigh in tomorrow ) is gonna be a long and tiring night probably, but I am looking forward to it ...should be a good time, and then I can just relax all weekend if need be...although need to sweep my car out, its that time...

Susan - Congrats on the loss !!! :cb::hat::cp: You guys call them "carry in'", well yeah I guess it would be the same thing, everyone bringing in food to eat went pretty well, I did end up having a cookie or two but didnt throw me way over I call it a win :D

Mandy - Hi, we have missed ya !! NO more lurking  haha

Dreamer - thanks for the will power dust, it must have worked.

Well I hope you all have a great day, have a good weekend and stay OP :jig:

See ya

03-16-2012, 11:17 AM
As per usual, I will try and hop on tomorrow or Sunday with my weigh in number ...see ya

03-16-2012, 01:41 PM
but i like lurking :( it's all sneaky and makes me feel like a ninja!

anyway, today is friday and that means cookout. sigh. wish me luck on that!

03-16-2012, 02:33 PM
Mandy - Sorry bout the sinus infection feel better! glad the vitamin c is working for you and HEY folding laundry counts as exercise...and lifting the baskets of clothes is strength training right? hehe

Susie- I love it too, If my boyfriend wasn't so tired after work I'd try to rope him into doing some dance lessons ;) No, I have never tried zumba. I heard it's good. I think I want to wait till I am closer to goal before I do that so I don't feel like the fattest one in the crown (yes, I know I know I should do it anyway but finances and my schedule are also preventing it).

Carri- Your welcome for the dust ;) and I am soooo jealous. A concert?? I love concerts!!

its the middle of the end for me at school which means study study study for finals today! First I am gonna go to the goodwill and try to find a top to go with the CUUUUTTTEEE top I got for $2.50 last week though. I want to wear it when I meet my boyfriend at his work for lunch next week. then I have to finish 2 practice exams for my math final and a discussion for history plus two final papers. Wish me luck! (oh, I was gonna have fridays be my weigh in days but umm...I kinda went over on cals and WAAYYYY over on sodium yest :\ over on calls is ok cause I havent been able to eat more than about 1000 cal/day for the last like 4 or 5 days and I should be eating 1400! sodium just blah, If I go even 1 mg over 2000 mg of sodium I gain 5 lbs..Ugh.)

Have fun Ya'll!

03-17-2012, 02:31 AM
Mandy u gotta get your hubby helping u on stuff u don't like doing...make it more fun for u :val2: give alittle...get alittle. Lurk, as long as you remember to drop-in & say hello

Carri u live in Indy right? It's gotta b a great town for concerts. I envy u tonight, we need a night out too.

Have a Fun weekend Everyone, Dee

Liz, Mel, Arabella, We miss you  please say 'Hello' if you r here reading today.

03-17-2012, 02:37 AM
Dee thanks for the tip. I don't add salt to my food PERIOD. the sodium I went over by was umm....*shirks away* eating out....My boyfriend decided he wanted subway and I didnt think until after that I could have gotten a 6" oven roasted chicken breast instead of the footlong buffalo chicken and stayed below my sodium AND calories LOL. my sodium comes from any sodium in the ingredients of what I am making (except I don't add any salt when a recipe calls for it). My boyfriend does like salt though so I will pass that tip on to him!

03-17-2012, 11:31 AM
Good morning everyone.

I worked from home yesterday and got so much done, for work and at home.
I'm beginning some spring cleaning this weekend, really just going through some things and tossing.

Today I will take my snowman off the front porch and my pine wreath off the door and I will put up my butterflies, wind chimes and my spring wreath.

I also need to do some regular cleaning. Then it's a fun night out with my BFF, Genny. We are going out to dinner and seeing a local high school production of the musical "Oliver!". I'm looking forward to tonight.

Dee: I WANT those closes that you said you would design for me. Sounds so lovely. You are so talented. I think it would be amazing to have some of my clothes designed for me. It's hard to fnd a seamstress anymore for repairs and alterations must less designing.

How are things with you on the weight-loss? Thanks for the info on salt; I have cut it way down in the past few years but I do still salt my food before I eat it (I don't cook with it). I have been using sea salt but I am going to try the kosher salt. Thanks for the tip!

Casey: Good luck with those finals and don't do late night eating when studying! Did you find a cute shirt? I have a couple of friends who love going thrift shopping. I haven't really done any of it as I thought it would be hard to find things in plus sizes.

Mandy: How did the cookout go on Friday.

Carri: How was the concert?

Liz, Arabella, Mel and Auntie G: What all is keeping you so busy that we havent' "seen" you in ages!?!

03-17-2012, 02:45 PM
Whoa, another record breaking day :sunny::beach: We're going to the lake soon. DH is fishing & I'm cruising in my kayak, looking @ nature, maybe get some pics :df:

Cassie, umm I repeat 'we r happy that you r here w us' :smug: That u r doing sooo good w taking care of your bod, being a responsible owner of it :cheer3: I'm sorry, I messed-up w you & the sodium having a love-hate relationship, oops! My new fav @ Subway is getting the egg-white (less fat) steak & cheese breakfast muffins & topping them w all the veggies, the flavors r so delish I don't need a dressing; my dh always gets a footlong sub, he's 5'9" 174 pds so he eats everything in sight, no weight concerns...

Carri, did u get sloshed last night @ or 'after' the concert  How did your WI go? I don't do rims of salt w my Margarita's anymore, sorry, I cut my daily sodium in half. That's why I get the fruit flavor Margarita's now.

Mandy what's up :o the weather was 'perfect' last night for your cook-out. I wish I had a work-out buddy like you 2x a week, every winter; our friends just snowmobile.

Time to leave for the lake now, B safe, Dee :luck2you:

03-17-2012, 06:36 PM
i did pretty well at the cook out i think. a couple bites of this and that to fill my plate and try everything without snarfing down a huge pile of dessert.

doing well today too... yeah, i started my day out with cake :p but lunch was a ham/spinach/onion/pepper wrap (my new fav) with a side of carrots and a banana... dinner's gonna be lemon thyme chicken with some spag squash and maybe some potatoes roasted with garlic.

03-18-2012, 02:49 AM
Hey all. Left at 7:10 this AM to meet my boyfriend at the farmers market to buy him some good stuff (he is knew to the no-eating-processed-food thing, 33 and literally can't cook. i know i know, i'm working on it :D ), then we went to the store and finished his grocery shopping, after that it was on to the pet store to get his newfoundland some yummy orhganic food. Finally we got lunch at a chicken teriyaki place (I had sushi, the healthiest alternative!) and saw a movie (21 jump street is AWESOME BTW) then I went to ulta for a friend and picked up her lipstick. Got home at exactly 9 pm and just finished homework. I am EXHAUSTED and am heading to bed. I was completely on plan today :D balanced my two high days out nicely this week. Average is 1310 cals a day and my limit is 1440. Hopefully the scale loves me this week. I d love to see 243.3 or 242 but we shall see! right, off to bed for me. Just wanted to check in before I passed out will do personals when I get a chance (maybe not tomorrow, will be at old navy with a friend for part of the day and that old navy store is 2 hrs from me (yikes!)

03-18-2012, 01:51 PM
Hi everyone. I had a GREAT time at the Black Keys concert ( Dee yes I am right near Indy ). And I was VERY good. And exercised a lot that night between walking and dancing. Haha. And I got up this morning and was down another 2 pds YAY !!!!! Down to 224 now. Onederland I am coming for ya !!!!

Okay gotta go clean my car out. Have a good Sunday all

03-18-2012, 04:20 PM
one of my former coworkers' band is playing the pre-party for the black keys' concert in norfolk va on friday. i'm so proud of them :D

03-19-2012, 11:17 AM
Mandy - that is pretty cool ....The Black Keys put on a great show, it was a very cool night out

03-19-2012, 11:21 AM
Morning Girls ....Hope all is well with all of you ...we had a beautiful weekend weather wise ...I didn't make it out of the house on Saturday after my night out Friday for the concert ...funny ten years ago I would have been just fine, but now at 38 I am down for the count the next day, haha ...sad huh? lol
But me and dh had a great weekend, only problem is I usually do my grocery shopping on Sunday and didnt so now we don't have food in the house and I work until 6 or after all this week so am not gonna feel like going...dh is gonna be working late too so I guess we will see which one of us can make it to the store soon.

Other than that not much going on ...I am very excited that i am down to 224, but won't feel like I am making real progress until I get into the 2 teen numbers....because then I know the single digits ( and the count down ) are very within reach ...cant wait to see that 199 again !!!!!

Have a great day all !!!

Carri :cheer: on your Discipline w your 2 months of Losses & being sooo good @ the concert.

Mandy & Cassie :chef: great going w your healthy weekend :smug:

Today is 78*, in March :dizzy: Umm I can't believe I'm in Michigan. Tonight I'll start making me fruit slushies, while my dh Teases me w his hot-fudge-brownie ice cream sundae's, etc. @ night :p Why can't ice cream be healthy like veggies r, it's so unfair. I have a box of Edy's fruit pops for my emergency back-up :frypan:

Dancing W T Stars starts tonight :yay:

03-19-2012, 10:47 PM
Carri - Glad you had fun! Congrats on the 2 lb drop!

Dee- 78 you tease! It's in the 40's here....we're even getting snow! ugh. Snow in march???? Since when??? LOL

TOM came finally (about 2 weeks late grr)....I guess I was holding water cause I dropped 2 lbs today...241.8 WOOHOOO I am sooooo ready to be out of the 240's ugh. 6months of a 24 something is annoying! Not much else going on. Finals week this week and boyfriend and I are looking at apartments to move in to next month (We're both sooooo tired of the places we are living now) Umm...not much else to say. Should go change the laundry over though LOL huugs ya'll!

03-20-2012, 11:53 AM
Morning everyone...all going well here ...just had my breakfast of a low cal english muffin and peanut pushing my water to keep my full until lunch three hours from now :) The weather has been absolutely beautiful here lately .....oh and .............

Happy Spring !!!! :flow1::sunny: Today is the official first day of Spring

Dee - I was looking at Michigan info the other day because I hate that in the time zone we are in that it doesnt get dark until 9:50pm or later in mid Summer and it was showing the same for Michigan ...but I guess you are probably used to it...we just started DST about 5 years ago...we are going to be in the low 80's for a temp today, they said on the news we might set a record for March is odd...feels like we skipped over Spring and went straight to Summer.

Dreamer - where do you live that you are getting snow? That sounds awesome to me since I love cooler temps and we had a joke of a Winter this year, stayed really warm and hardly any snow, which is very unusual for Indiana....congrats on your loss :carrot:

Hi Susie, Arabella, Mel, Liz, and Auntie G

Have a great OP day everyone !!!!

03-20-2012, 12:58 PM
Carri- I live in Portland, OR This is VERY unusual for us. its usually about 55-65 right now.

03-20-2012, 03:54 PM
i'm in columbia SC... and yesterday it got up to 87 degrees. today it's mid 80s and will be for the rest of the week! the pollen is intolerably high too. so it's hot and sneezy outside which means i stay inside. luckily we have a lovely air conditioned gym room walking distance and i can still workout. yay!

heart rate monitor is on it's way, DVD and lifting gloves will be here later in the week, looking forward to the ab roller being back in stock. time to get buff!

03-20-2012, 09:00 PM
you'd think with all the working out i do, i'd lose some weight. but it's being stubborn! (also, my typical online alias is Xenia - for Xenia Onatopp in goldeneye - she was one tough sexy cookie! even though she was a bad guy)

03-20-2012, 09:12 PM
Mandy ;) your work-out plans r inspiring, maybe we should start calling u Zena, or Buffy

Cassie :smug: I'll take your cool spring, when the pollen-count is low & I don't get 'allergy headaches/migraines'. I luv fresh picked spring 'morell mushrooms' saute'd in butter :p

The Voice was on last night @ the same time as D.wtStars :( I put the pic on pic on & kept flipping channels back & forth. OMG the dancing was:woohoo:for their 1st night.

Susan, Mel, Liz & Arabella,...We're waiting for you, come back ASAP :easter::easter2:

03-20-2012, 10:42 PM
Dee...I wish it was like that no fresh nothing here .Our trees aren't even budding still looks like winter :\

03-21-2012, 12:07 AM
Ok. I just read all the posts and you gals are rockin' it! It inspires me.
I am doing well with my food but had Mexican yesterday and Chinese today (sitll in my calorie range) and I can tell the salt in the food is making me retain water. Time for fresh veggies, protein, and frush fruit.

I won't have a weigh-in this week as I will miss my TOPS meeting due to a event I am attending with a friend of mine on Thursday--it's the Pantene Beautiful Locks donation. I work for P&G and a friend of mine is donating her hair to this program. They are doing a whole event around those who are donating today, so I'm taking a vacation day with my friend and we will be doing that in the afternoon (starts at 2:30 and goes until 5:30), the downtown offices are 60 min from my hometown so I won't make it to TOPS which meets at 6;00. Also my cousins are coming for dinner that night; they are visiting from DC and CA.

Had a great time with my friend on Saturday night. We enjoyed the play and stopped in for a St. Patty's day drink afterwards at a local tavern. I had one green long island ice tea--I know my limit! Like Carri it doesn't take much to put my down for the count the next day!

Carri: Sounds like you had a great time at the concert and you are doing great with the weight-loss keep it up!
We are enjoying the same beautiful weather that you are having and I LOVE it.

Dee: It's good to shake up your plan every once in awhile so I think it's a good thing to do WW. As you know you can use any eating plan TOPS that you choose to use. They say that decision is betweeen you and your physician.

I am watching Dancing with the Stars as well..there sure is a lot of "eye candy" on that show this time! ;)

Mandy: Keep up those will see the weight drop soon.

Dreamer (is it Cassie?) keep up the good work..we will try to send you some of our spring and sunshine!

Ok..need to get to bed. 5:00 a.m. comes EARLY!

03-21-2012, 01:27 AM
i'm really confused as to how my post got posted BEFORE dee's when i was obviously responding to her. message board quirks. who knew?

03-21-2012, 07:51 AM
Susie  happy to see your OK & back. Your career seems fab & I use all the P&G products & I love Pantene for my long hair. What a fun vaca day you'll have w your friends & cousins :cool

03-21-2012, 12:01 PM
Morning Girls…lot going on around here, I like the activity !

I had to DVR The Voice and haven’t caught up on it yet since I watched Biggest Loser last night….I was SO glad that Kim didn’t get in the bottom two….she showed them what was what, haha

Dee – I did WW one year back about 7 years ago and lost 48 pds, so I know the program works if you stick with it …congrats on joining and good luck !!! I also have bad seasonal allergies so I feel ya on those…warm weather always brings them on, so does yard work and yard mowing…ughhhh, but I guess it is a trade off for the warm weather…No, I have never been to the Indy 500 ( which I know if probably hard to believe ), dh has been to several of them…but it is usually so hot then and me and hot weather don’t mix so I normally watch from inside my air conditioned home.

Susie – I didn’t know you worked for P&G …I love their coupon insert packets…my dh has to take daily Prilosec and they always have a 2.00 off coupon that I use. Glad you had a good time Saturday night, I love Long Island Iced Teas …but they do get to me easily, haha

Dreamer – I love Winter, and we really didn’t have one this year ( very odd ) so I am kind of jealous of your cooler weather …but I guess I better be quiet because another Winter will be here before I know it.

Mandy – yes we are having the same warm weather, so odd for March …I hope this doesn’t mean our Summers are going to be unbearable. Thank God you have an air conditioned gym huh?

Well I better get back to work, and just remembered I haven’t had my breakfast yet and getting kind of hungry ( its 10:36 here now ), so getting kind of late for it. You gals have a great day.

03-22-2012, 02:28 AM
holy calorie burn!

965 calories during my workout tonight! according to my new fancy heart rate monitor.... i started it up when we walked out the door to leave, and stopped it while my husband was unlocking the front door. so the 965 calories includes the warm up walk to the gym, the stretching while trying to find something to watch, 35 mins on the elliptical, a brief walk around and stretch session as a cool down and prep for strength training, 3 sets of 12 on the all in one gym doing 8 different exercises, another brief walk around cool down, then the walk back to the apartment.

but almost 1000 calories burned in just under 2 hours! this could be why i'm not losing any weight. i figured maybe 500, if that, and was eating accordingly. my body is probably hoarding! i will not complain about eating more!

03-22-2012, 11:40 AM
Morning Girls, just a quick pop in, busy today ....

Mandy - wow that is a lot of cals do probably need to step up your eating amount, that would be a great problem to have

Hope everyone else is doing well ...we have a friend in from FL who is coming over tonight to hang and eat ...gotta clean the house up some on my lunch hour, only time I can fit it in , haha

See ya

03-22-2012, 11:46 AM
Hi Everyone. I agree with Carri, lots of activity here and I love it!

I had a slip up last night. I was starved when I got home from work and so I got into DH's stash of chocolate (he hides it from me at my request but when I feel like I have to have it, I'm like a drug addict looking for a fix!) So, I found it and had 3 Reese Eggs and a coke!

I feel horrible today...physcially and emotionally. Oh and mean...sugar makes me mean and grumpy. So today will be detox for me.

I know that today is a new day and I'm glad to feel like that but you know, for the first time I'm MAD  at myself and I think its a good thing. Sometimes I'm too easy on myself. I was telling my DH that if I did this with alcohol or drugs people would be telling me that I'm robbing my life and throwing away my future...well, you know what? I'm doing that when I make those choices with food!

It's high time I had a heart to heart talk with myself..thanks for letting me do it hear.

Carri: I enjoyed The Biggest Loser this week; I couldn't believe that Kim had on a bikini and she looked good in it too!
I'm glad that you use and like the P&G products, especially the Prilosec one. In my last role at P&G I "worked" on the digestive wellness brands and Vicks. Prilosec is a good product and helps a lot of people.

Dee: Thanks for being a loyal P&G brands user! It keeps me employeed!
It's a great company to work for and I feel blessed to be there. What are you sewing today? Are you logging your WW points?

Have a great day everyone! Talk to you later

03-22-2012, 04:28 PM
it's been a thought, i won't lie. but if i'm gonna be a trainer, i've gotta get myself in shape first!

also news: i'm moving from columbia SC to bryan-college station TX in july.

TEXAS. in JULY. sigh.

03-22-2012, 04:38 PM
Mandy :cp::strong::broc: :congrat: Have u thought about becoming a 'persona trainer' getting your Bachelor's degree. You have the 'drive to move your body' so I know you'd b a GREAT personal trainer, go get your Bachelor's degree & kick butts :workout:
Hey Mandy, I did it again, I reposted to add something & I saw the reply, u just posted. Congrat's on your move to Texas

Hi Carri & Cassie :bubbles: 80* again. This weekend cooler into our normal 60*, w spring thunder-showers :smug:

I think my dh is on his TOM, he's been very grouchy the last 2 days to me :( If I make a joke to get him to stop yelling @ me, he yells more.:dizzy:

I was cruising a week ago on 3FC & I saw Arabella, I didn't want her to think I was looking for her; so I didn't say 'hi'. Arabella if you r reading this now 'hi'

Liz & Mel where r u :easter::easter2:

03-23-2012, 11:53 AM
Morning Girls ....all is going well for me, our friend up from FL was here last night and we went to BD's Mongolian Grill for dinner, it was very good, but I think a little high in sodium because I was up a little this morning...we had our weekly work weigh in this morning and I am still in the lead so far, so fingers crossed I win cause there is 100.00 on the line :)

Dee - I haven't watched Survivor yet so you should have said "spoiler alert" haha, I didnt know Colten was gone ....I usually dont catch up on my shows until the weekend....I agree with you he is very unkind for someone who is in his shoes, maybe he will learn from this. ALso I get my P&G coupons from the Sunday paper, normally there is a packet in there.

Mandy - I think a personal trainer would be a great job, get to call your own hours and get to help people lose weight and reach goals. Texas in July ? Isn't that VERY hot ? Ick ...good luck :D

Susie - 3 Reese Eggs and a coke ? Talk about your sugar high ? haha OH well like you said detox today ...I rarely eat sweet stuff but when I read Reese egg I was salivating, haha

Hi to everyone else...I am so glad it is Friday...cooler here today and rainy...gonna be like Dee said above for us too ...cooler this weekend and rainy ...oh well, I'll take it ...

Have a great day, and I will check in over the weekend with my official weigh in results...later

03-24-2012, 11:41 AM
So my weigh in this morning was good. Down another two pounds. I lose that every week. No more , no less. But hey I will take it. Have a great weekend all.

03-24-2012, 04:50 PM
Carri :cp: 2 more pds gone :cloud9: Hey, how tall are you? I feel like a 'shorty' here, I've been 5'4" since a teenager in the 1970's when you were a child.
I don't know why the guys height shrinks, as long as that's all that ever shrinks :lol3: My dh is 49 yr & was 5' 10" when we got married 16 yr ago & now is 5' 9".

Carri, Keep up the fab 2 pds off weekly :goodscale Are you doing anything special--work-out or certain foods :m:

:egg::bunny2: :easter: Have a fun weekend everyone, Dee

03-24-2012, 05:36 PM
Dee - I am just under 5'4. So we are about the same height. I am just counting calories ( keep below 1450 ) and no I haven't been working out but I need to for toning.

03-25-2012, 12:01 PM
Hi Ladies. My detox is going well. The sugar cravings are gone again. I swear its like going through withdrawl!

I also did my 2nd 5K walk yesterday and I imporved my time from the one last November. My time for this one was 58.50.9 for my chip time, 59.10.2 for the gun time (we were back in the pack a little so the gun time is the time the race started--I looked at my watch when we walked over the starting line and it was about 9:02) So my pace was 19.01/m) My friend that walked with me ran the last 20 yards to the finish line and finshed 6 seconds ahead of me. So, I feel I was walking pretty fast if I was only 6 seconds behind her.

I really love doing the 5k's; they make me feel like a athlete. I didn't train for this one like I should have but will train for the next one. We are looking for one in May/June.

Carri: :carrot: another 2 lb down for you! Keep up whatever you are doing. It is working well for you.

Dee: for P&G Coupons they do come out in the Sunday papers, usually the last week of the month; it is in their Brand Savers. Also, there is a website or facebook page for just about every P&G product so you can look them up there and sign up for electronic coupons and such.

Mandy, Dreamer, Arabella, Liz, Auntie G and Mel: Hi!

03-25-2012, 09:21 PM
Hi ladies! I'm back... I was very active in the boards 3 years ago, and had great support and good success. However, pregnancy, personal issues, and life got in the way and I'm back to almost where I started the last time around!

I'm looking for girls that will support me, and challenge me to hit my goals. I need accountability, but not a mother. I'm happy to jump right in - and get this weight off! I weighed myself for the first time in almost a year last Monday, and will weigh in on Mondays.

I HAVE to do this!!!

03-26-2012, 11:31 AM
Morning Girls…had a GREAT weekend, spent a lot of it outside with friends, grilled food, etc ….stayed mostly OP except for last night I went over my calories by about 600 or so, but I need that once in a while…and shouldn’t make much of a difference ….I have been having issues with some side muscle being pulled on my left side…this always happen when I start to lose a bunch of weight, doc says the stomach hang ( i.e. muffin top haha ) starts to pull in different ways and the muscles have to act and work differently …in my case the stomach starts to slide down first, and that always causes some discomfort …plus I sleep on my side a lot and that pulls it too ….oh well, something I have to deal with for a while.

Did you all have a good weekend? I see Susie did the 5k, which is awesome !!!!!

Dee – and glad to know that we are both shorties….haha …I have been about the same height since early high school …graduated in 1992 …shame my 20th yr reunion is coming up …where does the time go ?

Hope you all have a great Monday !!!!! If that is possible, haha …

03-26-2012, 03:03 PM
Hi Gals, It's a bit cooler here today but still hoping to be able to take a gentle walk around the neighborhood tonight when I get home. My knee is still giving me some issues. It feels a little better but I'm still babying it.

Carri: I'm back to losing my Lose It app--you inspired me again to lose it as you have been doing very well with the weight loss lately.

Welcome back to Enygirl! This is a great bunch of ladies and I think you will find what you are looking for here.

Hope everyone else is doing well and if you are not, that's ok too...come on and post and we will help get you back on track or celebrate your victories.

03-26-2012, 03:17 PM
Thanks for the welcome ladies! I weighed in today - with no movement on the scale. Like I said, i'm just now getting back into this - so it'll get better. Staying OP and planning out meals (especially dinner) will help! Right now the next 2 weeks are planned out. :)

03-26-2012, 05:04 PM
Hey Susie, Great job doing the 5K walk, most of my friends have a bad knee or problem, I think I'll try to get a challenge going w them beginning w 2 miles, to work up to a 5K walk :running: When your chef is gone, have you thought about trying the Nutri-System meals, etc. like Marie Osmond, Valerie Bertinelli r doing?

Liz, Melanie, Arabella, Mandy & Cassie :easter2: U r missed, Dee

03-26-2012, 05:12 PM
Susie - LOVE to hear that I have inspired you !!!

03-27-2012, 11:02 AM
Morning everybody…hope you all had a good Monday yesterday …gonna be a beautiful day here today…around 68-70 and sunny …dh and I are gonna do some yard work when we get home tonight before dinner…he is gonna mow, and the yard is pretty long so I will have to rake the grass up and maybe bag it …gonna be some exercise for sure…I don’t mind working outside when it is cooler out …once the humid Summer sets in though I will be only inside.

Anybody watch The Voice last night? Sometimes those judges just aren’t thinking like me …I have seen them get rid of a couple of my favorites lately ….I will be sad when the show is over, I love to watch that ….and Biggest Loser…although this season has not been a good one….but it normally comes back on again in September …I love September for a few reasons…a couple being that one that is my birthday month, and two all the shows start their new seasons, and three it starts getting cooler and heading towards Fall !!

Still plugging a long on the diet front…snuck and weighed myself this morning and so far a 0.4 loss …so I know by the end of the week for weigh in it will be better …at this two pound loss a week though it will take me until Jan or Feb of next year to reach goal, and that just seems like forever…but I guess what else will I be doing? I just hope I can have the discipline to actually do it this time. Lord give me strength !!!!

Well you all have a good day …stay OP !!!!

03-27-2012, 02:11 PM
Susie- Yep It's cassie ;) Also, one slip up once in a while is ok. Chocolate eggs are yummy but not at the expense of your overall well being! Feel better soon! And congrats on speeding up your 5K walk!

Dee- Send me some of that sun and heat will ya? We are still having snow IN MARCH! Oh and you better watch it, I might recruit you to make me some clothes :p

Carri- You can have my winter, I'll ship it on over ;) and WTF on your 2 lb loss! A stead y 2 lb loss is GREAT.

Mandy- Wow looks like you are LOVING you new HRM..glad you like it. and sorry bout moving to texas in july...that's gonna be a killer...but look at it this will probably have an easier time losing weight because of the heat.

Enygrl- :Welcome:

Omg. I have been SOOOOO busy. Finals last week, looking for an apartment with my BF, helping a friend of mine clean her house, and 3 binges (One day I even got up to 4000 calories ugh I want to puke just thinking about it.) I still managed to lose 2.8 lbs and get into the 230's last week though WOOHOO!!! 239 this morning! But my boyfriend is still catching up to be Grrrr LOL. This week we are meeting his cousin (He's never met her) turning in an app for an apartment and taking his dog to the vet (is having a slight limp poor puppy :\ hope its jsut a growing pain, he isn't full size yet). Classes start again on monday so this is my spring break. and have a LOT of stuff to buy for the apartment. O.0 Anyway hope you all are doing well!! I will be back to check in later today!

03-27-2012, 03:11 PM
hey ladies.

sorry i haven't been posting, i've just been in a funk. i'm worried about the move to texas. i hate driving, to the point i'm almost phobic about it and i will stress so hard in the first part of the drive that i'm exhausted near the end, to the point i'm falling asleep at the wheel :-\ not good. also my cats are not good travelers. they freak out.

i've done what i can so far. i've researched driving routes, and planned to methods of attack (3 days @ 6 hours, 2 stops... also 2 days @ 9 hours, 1 stop).... because it's 1100 miles there, about 18 hours of driving. sigh. i need to just 'let go and let god' but i'm having a hard time with it. i'm too much of a worrywart and i don't know how not to be. anyway, my new goodies that i ordered came in from tastefully simple. generally not calorie friendly - especially the cakes and breads! - but the shaker seasonings and sauces are amazing. kinda excited to try the honey bbq seasoning shaker. :)

anyway. hope you all are having a better time of it than i am. i keep trying to forget what's going on in my life, and in the course of 2 days i ate a huge bag of chips and a whole jar of queso - my go to comfort food.

03-27-2012, 05:13 PM
Mandy - Sorry you are having a rough time...I know you can get thru it all though, sometimes thinking about it is worse than actually doing it

03-27-2012, 06:30 PM
So lately there's bee a picture of a woman with her head hung in shame with the phrase "I'm ashamed of what I've done for a Klondike bar" next to her. Today, I AM this anecdote. I have felt like crap all day. I've had a headache, tired, just overall blah... so instead of upping the water (because I'm probably dehydrated) and working out to increase the endorphins, I turned to food. Wait, not just food - but a 1220 calorie Baskin Robbins Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Premium Sundae. yea -1220!!! And you know what - it DID NOT make me feel better! It didn't take care of my tiredness, headache, or sourpuss mood... no, it made me feel WORSE about myself! I logged my calories in and I had gone WAY over before I even GOT to dinner!!! UGH So, I laid down to sleep off the headache, drank some water, did the first level of Slim in 6 DVD, and you know what, I FEEL BETTER! Since I do my calorie counting based on a budget, I got to put 299 calories back into my day from what I burned... as great as that is, I still only have 9 left for the day.

HOWEVER, I'm glad that although I made a really bad choice, I wised up and remedied it somewhat. Tomorrow's another day, and I WILL make better choices!!!

03-28-2012, 02:28 AM
guess who went to the gym tonight?!

oh yeah. i still feel blah but i think i burned off all the chips i gorged on. :P

03-28-2012, 03:05 PM
Mandy & Enygirl :celebrate: You both r winners :yay: Congrat's on getting back OP, we pay & learn from our screw-ups. I agree w your posts.

TY for your honest posts & inspiring us all :dust: to keep going forwards to our 'goals'.

:egg::bunny: Happy Easter Chicklets, Dee

03-28-2012, 03:57 PM
Hi Everyone. Some really good posts. I know that for Mandy and Cassie and Envy those binges can be rough but you got back on track and you all gave me some very good ideas to use the next time I binge on sugar. I would love that there wont' be a next time, but you know, I'm a comfort eater and I will do my very best to out-wait a craving but sometimes it does get me.

My knee is feeling a bit better today. I can now bend it with no pain. I skipped a walk last night. I will try a walk tonight and see how it goes.

Dee: A pedometer is a good idea to count your steps; I know that the minimum points is not very much and I think they equal to 1200 calories..and you should NEVER go below that a day, so getting in the step and counting them will help.
Thanks for the idea about the Nutrisystems food. I hadn't thought about it. I will look into it. It would help to have some sort of help with dinner a couple times a week.

Carri: Enjoy the evening working in the yard with your hubby.
Did you watch BL from last night yet? I found it to be a good episode. Let me know what you think.

Cassie: You have a lot going sure you schedule "take time for Cassie" in there.

Mandy: I LOVED the picture you posted...Way to go! Sorry about the driving anxiety.

Enygirl: I am a MONSTER when I binge on sugar; I really like the way you handled it to get back in the game and feeling like a human being.

Ladies, I'm having a little bit of axiety myself. I didn't go to TOPS last week and our Leader emailed me this week that you has decided to step down as leader. She's done it for a long time and right now is having to take care of her sister and so I understand--the other members have been emailing me all week and they are upset and some are thinking of dropping out (I think they were looking for an excuse) because they don't want a change in leadership.

While I love our leader, I think it would be good for a bit of a change and some new blood in that office. The part I'm upset with is that from what I'm hearing the leader isn't just stepping down but also leaving the group. She said something to the effect that "we don't do much as a chapter".

I'm expecting some drama tomorrow night and I'm not sure the Co-Leader will take the office. I'm the Secretary and wouldn't mind being the Leader but i would need someone to get there before I could and open the building and such, since with work I can't get there much more than 10 min before the meeting starts.

A lot of our Ladies are older and so I'm expecting some drama tomorrow and I hope to be helpful and not hurtful but I do have things I want to say. So, please keep me in your thoughts and prayers and if you have any advice I will take it!

03-29-2012, 11:32 AM
Good Morning Goils !!!! I see you all are doing well ...I too have a slight binge issue off and on ...I hate those times....but you learn from it ...I tend to not have any foods around that I want to binge on, that helps me

Susie – yes I did watch it …I think Kim ( the 38 yr old mom ) is looking pretty bad…her face is so thin and makes her look a lot older than she is…I am her age and I don’t look anywhere near how old she does, maybe she tans a lot, who knows….I keep thinking of that saying ( which is mean I know ) that goes “turns out she lost all the weight and she doesn’t have a pretty face…” hahaha …..but of all the people left I do tend to like her the best…I think she has a good chance of winning …just don’t let Conda win …I will wish you drama free night at Tops tonight …I think you would make a great Leader, keep you more accountable too, so go for it !!!

Dee – I love Wendys chili, I relied on that for a diet staple a lot in the Winter …the large was only 310 cals and it is so filling …

Hi to everyone else !!!

Not much going on here today, not having the best day, got into it with dh a little while ago and am just feeling kind of down…we have been married for 18 yrs and off and on we do have our low points…I know a marriage is a work in progress so I try and remember that but some days its just hard…

Have a great day everyone !!

Hey all just checkin in this morning. The scale said 237 WOOT that's 2 lbs down today...I like it, I hope the 230's continue to fly by like this! Going with the boyfriend to turn in our applications for our apt today. *crossing fingers we get approved, I'm nervous* other than that not much else going on this week. I might make the boyfriend go get some new pants and a new belt (he's lost 30 lbs and his clothes are FALLING now..its funny to watch him run with his dog he has to hold his pants up). I'm proud of him (even if he is losing at a rate sooo much faster than I am LOL). Gonna chill some before classes start next week. german starts monday and my school book isn't here yet (YIKES!). Well, I'm off to get ready so I can make it to my noon appointment with my scholarship coordinator! have a great day ya'll the week is almost over ;)

03-29-2012, 03:13 PM
i'm not losing any weight. fractions of a pound over the course of a week. i'm afraid to reduce my calories any further because of the intensity of my workouts. i wish something would give. every day i have to tell myself "giving up will make you 300 pounds again, it will be better tomorrow"... but almost every day i do what i'm supposed to (i highly doubt a binge on occasion can completely cancel out weeks of not binging), and i see no change on the scale. at 170 i might accept that and be happy, but at 270 there's just too much fat to get rid of to accept that i'm *supposed* to be this big. blah.

03-29-2012, 05:11 PM
Mandy - you know they say muscle adds more weight so maybe back off of that part of it for a while and just do simple cardio ...see if that gets things moving...or drop your carb intake ....

03-29-2012, 11:10 PM
the problem with cardio is it doesn't just cause your body to burn fat, it can cause loss in muscle mass too.... building muscle is supposed to help with your metabolic rate and increase the rate at which your body burns fat. which is why i do it.

i don't know how much to eat. i don't know how much to exercise. i'm just confused by it now. :(

Hi Everyone. I am so glad it is the weekend but the TV will be on all weekend in our house. My DH is a huge basketball fan and a huge professional wrestling fan and both sports have things this weekend--including Monday night when it is the NCAA Men's finals.

While I'm from Ohio, and I will cheer them on to beat Kansas, I ultimately want UK (Kentucky) to win and if they don't then Louisville is my other pick.

My DH's best friend who passed away last July was a HUGE UK fan and they had talked about going to the game if UK got into the Final 4. I offered to go with my DH if he wanted to as I know this was something he was looking forward to with his friend but he said, he would just stay home and watch it since his friend couldn't go; he did ask for me to sit and watch that whole game with Saturday night (I'm usually drifting in and out doing things around the house, or reading) but I will watch the UK/Louisville fro beginning to end in support of my DH.

Carri: So, I just posted and said how I was supportive of DH--I want you to know that comes and goes! lol :D We have been married 24 years come this October and you are right, marriage is a lot of work and that is because it is a committment.

I know you and your DH will come to an understanding but it does feel badly at times when a couple is disagreeing. Just say I love you and I want to move on from that. If you can agree on whatever it was work to it and if you can't then agree to disagree and figure what you can live with and what you can't, present that to the other person and then just move on as you can.

I agree that Kim on BL is looking a little older than she was and I do think its because she is tanning so much. While I am NOT a Conda fan, I have to admit she is looking good and you know I think she is a pretty girl..on the outside..not so sure about on the inside.

Dreamer: Great loss for you! I hope things goes well with the apartment application.

Mandy: You are right that just giving up will only get you back to 300 lbs and you DON'T want to go back there. It is frustrating when you don't see the scales moving but you know they will start just need to hang in there.

I think you should add more protein to your diet and make sure your carbs are complex carbs.

You said you didn't know how much to exercise or how much to eat. Have you looked online for one of the sites that will tell you how much to eat and work out to loose a set number of weight from where you are at?

Also, I think maybe changing what you do with your workouts might happen. I remember one night on BL Bob was talking about doing your regular workout backwards. I can't remember all what he said, but I bet if you google it you can find it. He said it helps to break a plateau.

So, last night I had a BIG gain! Two pounds in two weeks. That is why I don't miss meetings very often and why I was stressed that we might not have a TOPS group after last night.

However, things got worked out and our Leader said she would keep the position but asked for help with certain things and people did step up for those.

I have set new goals for myself. No Excuses this time!

I put my weight in my Lose it App and said I wanted to lose 2 lbs a week and it tells me my daily calorie intake amount is 1876 and I should reach my first goal of 270 by June 16.

There's my stats ladies...keep me to them. I need some tough love and a lot of support! I am an emotional eater and for the next few weeks I will be searching ways to not comfort myself with food when those emotionals come.

03-30-2012, 11:26 AM
Morning All ...well we did the weigh in this morning for the work contest and I am still in the lead, but just barely and this guy are really close, and you know how men can lose he tends to do drastic things in the last week just to win so I probably don't have a week is our last weigh in, I think the prize is about 100.00 which would be nice...I would spend it on a couple pairs of capri's...want some jean ones for this Summer ....I was down two pounds on this scale so will probably be the same for my weigh in at home this weekend but we will see...

Tonight the girls at work and I are all going out for a 40th bday celebration for one of the girls here and we are going to TGI Fridays...gonna try and be good and order something lower, also not going to have any of the cake I ordered for her yesterday, which will be hard since I am such a icing whore, lol :D

Susie - I know you put Dee's name on your post, but I know it was to me from what you were saying :) haha ....and yes things with dh are back to normal, like every couple we just go thru things...I know you know what I mean with your lengthy marriage....yes I do think Conda is very pretty...and like you said this is just on the outside because she has a lot of things she needs to change about her immature personality.

Mandy - sorry I don't have more advice...I have lost 17 pds with no exercise so I am not a good one to give ya advice on that :(

So glad it is Friday, so need the weekend, think if it doesnt rain we are going to do more yard work, putting mulch down and stuff.

Have a great day everyone...will check in over the weekend and post by weigh in results. See ya

03-30-2012, 01:24 PM
Submitted apt apps last night *fingers crossed* we should hear back mid next week!

236.6 this am...not recording it on ticker till sun or mon though. glad I am back to my average of a new decade a month *whew* I was worried for a bit I wouldn't make it into the 230's in march. Now just to make it into the 220's in april (with moving and all that will be a challenge yikes!)

Mandy- maybe try to replace 1 night of weight training with cardio only. Cardio does build muscle because you are using muscles to perform the actions just not at the rate weight training does. i found when i started running last year i didn't lose AT ALL when i ran but when I didn't I lost a TON and it wasn't muscle I was losing either it was cause my body was tired.

carri- im sure you can beat him. oh and there should be rules at work against drastic measures

susie - THANKS! and gl on making your goal! im sure youll do it!

03-30-2012, 09:54 PM
Hey Y'all :snow4: April Fool's Day was early & hit today. We had a 2 hour blizzard, 1" of snow & the temp is 38* today.

03-31-2012, 10:57 AM
Had a great on-plan day yesterday and was able to talk myself out of having a ice cream bar about 9:30 p.m. I would have been within my calorie numbers but I wanted to feel as if I had power over that ice cream bar so I took my book, got in bed and read until I feel asleep.

Dee: THANK YOU  for the tough love and for the 21 (3 week) reminder and making it a challange. Right now that is my goal, to not eat for comfort for 21 days and stay in my calorie range.

Good for you for saying what you did to your TOPS club. I sort of gave a similar speech on Thursday. Sometimes we need to kick those we love to get motivated!

Time to get busy and do some house cleaning. Have a great Saturday and work towards the you that you want to be.

03-31-2012, 06:38 PM
Hi Mandy, Cassie & Enygirl :smug: we enjoy it when we share our menu's or log-in our daily foods here. It helps us to be accountable & gives us ideas to cook & try :p Sooo if you feel like sharing your food, please do. Also like Susie did >(able to talk myself out of having a ice cream bar about 9:30 p.m):dancer:<
Please, share your victories often w us TY.

Have a fun April 1st, Sunday. Dee :easter2: We're on the same team @ 3FC, w the same reasons :grouphug:

03-31-2012, 06:48 PM
Evening all. Just a quick drop in for my weigh in results this morning. Down another 2. So now I have lost 18 pds since Feb 9th. I feel really good.

Have a good weekend all

04-01-2012, 12:16 AM
i am going to try the 'eat more, weigh less' plan.... crazy i know! but i am going to post a few things to my blog, and if you want to read about i encourage it.

i realize i am going to have a gain initially on this method, but if you have seen my posts around the site then you know i am not one of those who can just eat less and less and don't like the idea of eating less than BMR. i get grumpy, mean, unhappy, and i'm hungry!

i have seen several "yay for me" type posts where it has worked out for many women. i am willing to risk the gain in order to start losing again.

04-01-2012, 04:53 PM
Mandy :cheer3: Good Luck, I know You can do it!!!

04-01-2012, 10:18 PM
the hard part right now is trying to get in enough calories without eating so much i feel sick. it's a problem i never thought i'd have to deal with. the issue is getting to my calorie goal, with 40% from protein. when you add in that much protein to your diet... it's almost impossible to eat that much.

04-02-2012, 10:58 AM
Good morning Onderlander's lol

I weighed in at 198.6 last Fri, woohoo!

Still can't believe it but my clothes show me otherwise,

04-02-2012, 11:21 AM
Good morning Girls ...I had a good weekend...yesterday I went over calories at a pizza buffett, but oh well, today is another day...and I had a great time with my parents, brother and his kids, and dh it was worth it all ...beautiful day too...

Mandy - I have heard of that plan but don't know much about it ...good luck with it. :)

Dee - I know this has been a few days since you were talking about the guy here that is in the contest with me at work ...what he is doing is not right and I have sworn I will never be in another contest here of his because of that...I have worked hard for six weeks to win this and he is going to take it away from me in the very last week...I don't see how he can do it with a clean conscience but oh well...I have resolved myself to not winning and will move on, I am losing this weight for me and my health, not that contest ....I will have to try those skinny girl margheritas, that is my FAVORITE drink

Susie - I am too late for the tough love , Dee gave ya enough haha ...but I do know you can do this....I had a rough time of like 6 months where I just couldnt get it started and now that I have and have lost a small chunk I am just SO in the groove and can get there too

GHlover - congrats !!! I can't wait to see a 1 on my scale

I had like little to no sleep last night...I am so tired today at work ...probably gonna be an early one for me tonight ....hope you all have a great Monday.

See ya

04-02-2012, 01:52 PM

I had a good weekend and stayed OP and within my calorie range with the exception of Saturday and it was because I had a rootbeer but I was only over by that and I was under on Friday and yesterday so it will all even out.

We went to a local Rootbeer Stand that is only open from March until Sept and they make their own's very good. My DH and I aren't wine drinkers so we are Rootbeer drinkers! We look for different kinds to try all the time. Just something we have done since we got married--that and always finding a Walmart on vacation where ever we are to take a picture. We put together a slide show of our vacations once and just for fun that was all the pictures we showed (at first), then we showed the rest of the vacation pictures.

I am getting a pedicure after work tonight. I usually do my own in the winter but always get a professional one for the first one of Spring and usually do it around Easter.

Dee: When I do drink margarita's rasberry is my favorite, so I put your recipie in my recipie box. It sounded like you had a lovely time planned with your friends.

I have friends who have done the lap band and the baratic surgery. One of my friends looks great and healthy, the other 3 have so much lose skin and one of my friends died.

I think it's a individual choice and just not one for me.

Carri: Congrats on that lose! Can't wait for you to hit the 20 lb mark...hopefully this week?!
You are right that I just need to get in a pattern where I am seeing a loss for about 3-4 weeks and then I will be in the right now I'm just "faking it until I make it" and each day, I tell myself that I am in the groove..i'm walking and staying in my range so for now, that is my groove!

Mandy: I will check out your blog and good luck!

Ghlover: Congrats on your accomplishment!

04-02-2012, 05:00 PM
the blog where i'm keeping better track of everything is the one linked in my sig... i would suggest reading that one.

except for a handful of people being supportive, i am starting to think that maybe 3FC and me need to part ways. i don't like the thought of there being 2 choices "eat everything, exercise never, and get fat" or "eat nothing, exercise always, and lose weight"... so many people on here seem to push the "your body doesn't need calories calories are why you are fat!" idea... and i feel that eating well, healthily and at a level my body needs, and exercising to create the deficit is the most healthy way to lose weight. i'm tired of being told i'm wrong, or have it implied that i'm stupid. :(

04-02-2012, 11:08 PM
Hi There :sunny: Yup, spring is here & all is well. I can barely wait to get my garden planted the 1st week of May.

:welcome2:ghlover We're happy for your 100's success!

Cassie :smug: I hope you got great news about your apartment today. Good Luck @ school w your classes & spring-fever being here.

Has anyone seen 'The Hunger Games" yet?

G'Night All, Dee, :easter2::easter:

04-03-2012, 11:17 AM
Morning Girls ...all is going well here :) Supposed to get some bad weather again tonight, hopefully not anymore hail brother lives in an apt and his car is outside and the other night we had some good size hail, well he has a lot of damage to his car...I worry about that too when I am here at work.

Dee - yes he is a butthole for doing what he is going to do :D any other time he is a really good guy, I just think he has a very competitive nature and can't stand to lose. I agree with you on the Karma thing, so what comes around goes around...Yes, I can't wait to start getting new clothes ...I am so bound and determined to get this weight off for good this time !!!!!

Mandy - I will also miss you if you go but I would understand...they say any plan works if you work it and I believe it, you just have to find the one that works for you, no judgement...I, like you, don't believe in starving myself to lose weight, I eat a lot on my plan, just good things instead of bad what's best for you and don't worry about what others think...none of us think you are stupid. Good Luck

Susie - I LOVE Rootbeer too....I love the root beer floats they have at our State Fair every year...cant wait to have one again in August. How did your pedicure go? I always get one near spring too ...the polish, if done well, lasts so long on your feet...well worth the money, and great to have some pampering

Hi to everyone else !! Have a great day.

04-03-2012, 01:07 PM
Hello Everyone,

Beautiful day out today. I hear we might get some storms later; just hope they come after my workout partner and I do our walk tonight.

I was 56 calories under my range yesterday. :) I don't want to be to far under my range but it is nice to bank those calories for the times I might go over. I know they do that (or used to) with points on WW. The important thing right now is that I am AWARE of what is going into my body..not sticking my head in the sand anymore!

Dee: I know you weren't suggesting that I needed to get surgery. I was just stating that sometimes for some people its a good choice and sometimes it is not.

I haven't seen The Hunger Games. For me it will probably be a rental but I am starting to get curious about the books. Have you read them?

How's it going with WW?

Mandy: I echo what Dee and Carri have said. We would miss you nut you are always welcome here and we will always support you. Now, may I say...please don't go!!

Carri: I hope we don't get hail! Thanks for asking about my pedicure. It went well and I went a little wild! My toes are a lime green and they did flowers on my big toes. Everyone keeps telling me how cute they look (because of course I wore sandles today! ) ;) You are right that the polish lasts long with the "professional" pedicures.

Keep up the good work with your are inspiring me!

04-03-2012, 03:37 PM
thank you guys for your kind words :) you all have never made me feel like i was crazy for starting to think about the math and science of calories and metabolism. i'm just starting to get twitchy whenever i see somebody post that they had "omg i went over and ate 1600 calories today, so glad i burned 800 at the gym!" and i think "do you realize that a net 2000 calorie diet is what's healthy for the lightly active adult?" it's not natural for your body to survive on 800 calories. and that's why so many people plateau.

and the advice of "lower your calories a little more" just makes me want to cringe! :( i've been eating 2500+ for 3 days now, and i have not gained anything! nothing! and i'm PMSing! (i picked a really good time to start a higher calorie plan didn't i? lol)

i didn't get to 300 pounds by eating 2600 healthy calories a day and exercising 3x-5x per week... i got there by eating 3000+ of junk and not exercising at all. and it wasn't a rapid gain either. it was slow and steady after the freshman 15 (which in my case was the freshman 25). i was around 225 when i graduated high school. eating junk every day. i gained 25 my first year out of high school cause i ate the same, and didn't have all my extra curriculars anymore. then it took me at least 5 years, probably more, to pack on the extra 50 to get me to 300. that's 10 pounds a year or less. that's less than a pound a month eating a ton of junk and not exercising!

eating healthier, and exercising, should easily cause me to lose weight once my metabolism recovers from all the jerking around. starve myself to lose weight, give up and binge an gain faster, then starve myself to lose again, repeat ad nauseum. i have more energy, i'm in a better mood, and i'm sleeping better now! plus i'm never hungry anymore. how is this a bad thing?! sigh.

04-04-2012, 01:45 PM
Hi Everyone,

I had a great time walking with my friend last night. We walked the local college campus and there was a lot ot "see". ;) lol

I walk on Tuesday's with this friend of mine, the other days we do our workout seperately due to schedules. She's also my 5k walk buddy.

So, we were planning our workouts a bit and we decided that on a 4 week rotation the first week we will walk outside from a starting point to and ending point..if it takes us 45 min, that is what it takes, if it takes 30 that is what it takes. the 2nd week will be 45 min on the treadmill following the "hill" program. the 3rd week, is a 45 min walk focusing on speed, the 4th week is to do an actual 5k route. We know the one that is mapped out every year for the Turkey Trot in November in our town and there we will be working on lowering or time and assess how our training is going.

We are looking for a 5k walk/race to do in June or July.

Carri: Let me know when you watch BL--it was Makeover week!

Mandy: What you are doing is absolutely correct for you and really I think for many others! Your story and mine are very similar.
Stay steady the course!

I am using my Lose It app to track my calories for day and I have a goal weight set in it, and it tells me how many calories I can have a day (and when I exericse I get some of those back if I'm close or over) to loose an average of 2 lbs a week.

Yesterday I was under by 399. At first I was under by 56 but then added the workout and so that gave me back 343 calories.

Have a great day everyone!

04-04-2012, 04:36 PM
you know what's delicious? vanilla greek yogurt with cinnamon, shredded apple, and a bit of granola.

04-05-2012, 11:22 AM
Good morning all ....yesterday was a hard one, I was having one of those days where no matter what I ate I was still hungry all day ...don't know if my body was adjusting or what was tough to get thru but I stayed the course

Susie - yes I did watch it last night and I gotta say they looked GREAT ...I loved Conda's hair especially, and Chris OMG< she looked SO much younger without that grey hair ....great episode ...I also use the Lose It app faithfully and I know that is what has helped me lose my steady two pounds each keep with it, it will work !!!

Mandy - that does sound good ...I used to eat a lot of the Chobani brand greek yogurt, they have a ton of great flavors

Hi Dee, Liz, Mel, and Auntie G !!!!!

Tomorrow is the last weigh in of the work contest and to announce the winner, don't plan on winning since the only guy in the contest is probably gonna beat me, but oh well, I gotta remember I am doing this for me and not any contest.

have a great day all

04-05-2012, 03:13 PM
attempting eggplant parmesan for dinner tonight. first time with a meatless meal. wish me luck :D

04-05-2012, 09:05 PM
Hi, gals! I used to post on the forums here once upon a time when I had lost 60 pounds and reached ONEderland. Unfortunately, I got off track and gained all of that back. Yuck. So, here I am again...determined to get this weight off and keep it off.

Is there room for one more?

04-06-2012, 01:17 AM
hello foucault :) congrats for getting back on the horse!

well ladies, the eggplant parmesan was mostly a success... i just left it in the oven a smidge too long and the cheese got a little brown. but hubby and i like crispy cheese, so it worked out well :D

today's cals eaten: 2696
todays exercise: 840
NET calories: 1856

i'm not supposed to NET below 2000... and after my recovery smoothie and some string cheese i'm stuffed! ah well.

04-06-2012, 11:01 AM
Happy to report a loss at the scales last night at TOPS: a 2.25 lb loss!

Recording those calories and staying in my range and doing consistant daily exercise seems to be the key for me. :)

How's everyone doing? We are off work today for Good Friday. I also took yesterday off work as a personal day and so did DH. We changed our closets over to Spring/Summer clothes (and now it is FREEZING here!). It feels good to have that done though and it lets me know what I need to buy for the season.

Today we are doing some housework and then some friends of ours are in from Missiouri and we are going to Terry's Turf Club tonight. This place was featured once on Diners, Driveins and Dives. Our friends have never been there and they want to check it out. It will be a fun time and I have planned for the calories that I will eat there.

Carri: I would love to hear that you won that work contest but like you said, if you don't, this is not really about a contest. It's about you being healthy and happy with you.

Mandy: I'm a vegetarian and I love eggplant fixed so many ways. Good for you for trying something new!

Foucalt: Welcome back and yes there is room for you! Looking forward to getting to know you through your posts.

Have a great day everyone; I must get busy with some housework.

04-06-2012, 11:20 AM
Morning everyone, well I have good news and bad news...first bad news: I didn't win the work challenge, the guy lost 6.6% and I lost 6.0% ...but the good news is that there was a 2nd part to the challenge, if anyone could lose more actual pounds then him then he would pay them $5 per pound I did end up making 60.00 since I lost 14 pds during the 7 week challenge and he only lost 12 hey I will take it !!!! :carrot:

Susie - GREAT JOB on the loss ...I am telling you that Lose It app works...that is how I am steadily losing 2 pds a week ...keep up the good work !! We are having really cool weather here too ...I kind of like it...I thought it was getting too warm too quick, haha ...

Mandy - the eggplant parm sounds good, I am going to incorporate a layer of eggplant in my lasagna next time I make it....saw that on Dr Oz ...

Everyone have a great day !!

I will pop on over weekend and post my weigh in results

Have a Happy Easter !!! :bunny2::egg::easter2::easter:

04-06-2012, 11:40 PM
Susie :smug: I'm down 1 1/2# in 2 weeks, it seems so little but I'm on the lowest pts WW has because of losing less than 10# to my goal. A heavier person needs more calories, so that person has more food pts to eat. I am enjoying the structure. :congrat: on your 2.25 lb loss. You inspired me to start doing 5K walks. My hamstring is almost healed & I entered 1 for April & 1 for May & I'm excitedps:Cinco de Mayo is Saturday, May 5, 2012..:dancer:

Luv to ya'll, Have a safe weekend & enjoy your Chocolate bunnie ears :bunny: Dee
Cassie, Mel & Liz :easter2::easter::egg:

04-07-2012, 01:35 PM
Morning Girls - just a quick pop in with my weigh in results. Down another 2 pds to 218 so now I am officially down 20 pds since I started in early Feb and I am really happy about it

Have a great Easter weekend

See ya

04-07-2012, 01:39 PM
hey everyone :)

i dyed eggs with kool aid yesterday! it was fun and they are so bright, and it was cheap.... and i will never again use the vinegar stuff.

04-08-2012, 12:50 PM
Mandy I Luv your gorgeous Easter eggs....Toooo beautiful to eat :o

Sometimes I use choc. covered peanuts for bunny poop & I usually use coconut for my bunny & sometimes I cut out a chick from (my pineapple upside-down cake)

It's fun to play w food :smug:

04-08-2012, 02:36 PM
thanks dee! i had so much fun doing them! i love hard boiled eggs too, so this gives me an excuse to color them... it's nice to know the difference in the fridge. i can get 2 dozen eggs and a pack of koolaid every week, always have colorful eggs in the fridge (plus a healthy snack at the ready!)

04-09-2012, 11:27 AM
Morning All, hope you all had a great Easter ...we didnt do anything, we got out and went to Panera Bread for lunch and did a little shopping but other than that not a whole lot happened.

Mandy - those eggs are beauts !!! I like the idea of the kool aid a lot better because I hate the smell of vinegar.

My weekends just seem to fly by and the work week just stalls. hmmmph :)

Cant wait till the end of this month when I get a three day weekend ...might have to make it a four day weekend actually ...but we will see

Have a great day everyone !!

Even if I measured at a different spot (like on my thigh) I would have had to move the tape much higher up into jiggly thigh region (almost to my groin area) to get the 29 again, and nowhere around my hips measured 54, so I know something's moving!

Morning everyone…I am so tired today, didn’t sleep well last night …had some heart burn which I rarely have, but I made the poor choice of eating peanut butter before bed and that usually always does it…my own fault, haha …oh well just means I will sleep like a baby tonight

Mandy – great job on the inches lost…I really wish I would have taken my measurements before I lost this 20 pds so I could see how much is gone…I know there is a big amount from my stomach, but would like to know the inches …oh well, maybe I start taking them now…I was entering your info ( had to guess on your height, put 5’8, you look tall in your pic haha ) on this weight loss calculater thing online and it shows that at your size you would lose at 2300 pds…said weight loss at 2340 cals per day…so looks like you are spot on, especially with all your exercise ….I think you are doing a great job on just doing what works for you …starving yourself is no way to live…

Hi Susie and Dee – hope you both are having a great start to the new week.

The weather was only 34 degrees this morning, real chilly start …gonna be in the 60’s next few days and in the low 70’s over the weekend, that should be nice.

I am so excited to be firmly in the 2 teens now….knowing that 9 pds from now I will be in the single digit two’s and then it is the FINAL COUNT DOWN to Onederland !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can’t wait !!!!

Well my stomach is starting to growl at me so I better go and make my breakfast and get back to work

Have a great day all !!

i am tall. i'm 5'9 ;)

i usually eat around 2500-2600 every day, a big chunk coming from protein shakes, getting me to nearly 200g protein every day, and according to my HRM i burn several hundred calories in the gym multiple times a week. so i am creating some deficit. this week i may have to eat lighter cause it's TOM and i'm not going to be as active, cramps kick my butt and make me not want to do anything. currently squinting at the monitor because of the beginnings of a migraine. but for some reason my maxalt packs are in here.

hope you all have a good day. :)

Hi Ladies!

Things got a little crazy busy over the weekend and then back to work yesterday but I'm here and doing well.

I have to admit that I didn't use my Lose It App on Sunday but I'm back to it now and staying in my range.

We had friends in over the holiday that I hadn't seen since Thanksgiving and they said, "you have lost some weight" which I have since they saw me last, about 10 lbs; it feels good to know that it is noticed.

Oh and a funny thing happend at church on Sunday. We had a singing group in and the bass singer was a very nice looking single man. I guess I must have looked pretty in my new Easter dress because our pastor's wife told me that when he saw me, he said "who is that and is she married?!" I smiled the whole day and DH held my hand a lot more! ;)

Carri: Congratulations for losing 6% of your body weight AND for beating that guy out in the pounds lost and getting $60! You are doing great...just keep it going! We will be here cheering you on.

Dee: You did some great bargin hunting and I LOVE the idea of the swimsuit cover up..that is going to be so cute!
Also happy to hear that WW is helping those scales move for you.
As for the 5k walks, good for you! I hope you can find someone to walk it with you. It's very helpful to have a friend with you. My friend and I check our pace at the mile markers that are provided so we know how we are doing and we help each other keep moving. Right after 2 miles I always get to where I want to slow up and she keeps me going. In the beginning she needs help to get the speed up.

Tonight we will be on the treadmills doing the "hill" program setting so that we can use that training in our 5k's. You never know when those hills are going to be there and if we train for them, that is going to help our time.

Mandy: Those eggs are beautiful and I never thought to use koolaid. I will do that in the future and like someone said, it's a nice way to know the boiled eggs from the other eggs. I eat a boiled egg almost every morning as a part of my breakfast.

Taking your measurements is a very good idea because not all losses show on the scale. It looks like your eating plan with more calories, which are GOOD calories, is working for you. Keep it up.

Focult: how are you doing?

Liz, Arabella, Auntie G, Mel: Are you guys lurking out there?

04-10-2012, 03:28 PM
46* right now, high 60*s this weekend so I can ride my bike again :bike2:

Susie  so glad that you r okay & had a wonderful visit w your friends over Easter. My dh said he'd do my 1st 5K w me because a baseball ticket is included w the registration $25 fee :smug: I googled 5K walk/run & found lots of 5K's for every state.

Mandy & Carrie all I can say is :woohoo: WOW on the progress both of you have made....I hope both of your dh & your mom's r cheering you on every time you all talk, they gotta b very proud of you :cheer2: Time for you 2 chicks to shrink your clothes smaller & move your buttons/elastic before they fall off your little butts :o now.

Carrie, sorry about you not sleeping last night, if I eat near bedtime I have dum dreams that night. Yesterday I was walking & got a earache from the wind & new pollen & I slept cozy w a warm rice pack on my ear & 1 on my neck. (uncooked rice in a clean sock, heated in the microwave/spray a drop of fragrance on 1 side of the sock) my dh got hungry smelling the rice until I put a drop of perfume on it.

Mandy have you ever tried laying a heat pack on your back or tummy? Ask your friends what helps them, instead of suffering. Is your dh studying to b a pastor or did he graduate already, what church  Congrat's, a pastor's wife has a busy life also.

Girls, Who r your fav guy & girl celeb on DWTS to win the ball? I'm not sure yet.

Cassie & Mel & Liz :comp: stop back ASAP & say 'hi', I hope you all r well.

04-10-2012, 05:19 PM
Mandy that is GREAT that you get all that protein ...I am a protein junky but I don't get nearly enough, I need to eat a lot more ....

04-10-2012, 07:17 PM
dee - he is in his 2nd year right now... starting first sunday in august he will be an assitant pastor at Our Saviour's Lutheran in college station texas, we'll be there for the year, then he'll come back and do his senior year in seminary, at the end of which he'll be ordained. :)

04-11-2012, 11:00 AM
Morning Girls !! :sunny: Hope you all are having a great morning so far. I am having a pretty good one. Just finished my breakfast, a high fiber english muffin with peanut butter looking forward to lunch, haha ...I brought a turkey sandwhich with swiss and a side of cottage my cottage cheese :T

Anyone watch Biggest Loser last night ? It was an okay episode ...could have done without all the First Lady stuff at the beginning ...wanted it to be more about the show ...but anyway I dont "spoil" it for anyone who hasn't watched it yet I will only say that I was glad this person went home...before you know it the season will be over...but I know it comes back in Sept every year ...sadly, before you know it September will be here already...haha...time flies huh ?

Dee - thanks, I am really happy about the weightloss and am sure I can get down to my goal weight this year, I am going to pull a Liz !!!! :jig: I did sleep A LOT better last night so I am not feeling so tired today...and no heart burn last night

Hi Susie and Mandy

Hi to Liz, Mel, Arabella and Auntie G ...miss ya

Okay, well getting back to work ...speaking of work, they started another weight loss challenge here but this time a company wide one, not a little one where only one person can win ...there will be three winners and you only have to lose 5-10 pds in 12 weeks, which I know I can do so I signed up for it...heck I am going to be losing anyhow so might as well have a chance and winning some money for it, haha ...mama needs money to pay the IRS !!! :smoking:

Okay see ya later

04-11-2012, 12:52 PM
morning everyone!!

i'm on a tear, about to go blog about how healthy fats are HEALTHY and necessary... people who only eat 1000 calories and claim that's "all they need" while running a couple miles a day make me want to cry. :( some fats are bad, yes, but some are good. and necessary! avocado. nuts. fish. GOOD FATS. and tasty fats. eat some, they will do a body good! :D

04-11-2012, 02:29 PM
 Mandy we're on the same page about the 'yummy healthy fats' :hungry:
Have a :trampo: week, Dee

04-11-2012, 04:02 PM
Hey all,
Could have sworn I posted and update last friday in here, Guess not. We got the apartment and I have not been able to rest since! Soooo much to do, I'm lucky if I find time to sleep! (ok, I do have sleep time but it feels like I dont) *sings this is the week that never ends to the tutne of this is the song that never ends* Have not been good calorie wise or sodium wise BUT i knew that was going to happen and I am OK with that. Gained 4 lbs overnight on thurs because of stess and water retention from a huge fight. Havent looked to see if ive lost it yet. Kind of scared to get on the scale :\ I'm honestly resolved to not worry about it too much this week and then just work off whatever I gained next week when I can cook and will actually have more control of what I eat. There is literally NO time to cook this week. I am not home for more than 20 mins unless I am sleeping cause I'm out buying stuff for the apt or signing paperwork/at class. Anyway keep up the good work ya'll gotta get ready for class! Huggssss!

04-11-2012, 07:57 PM
I have no energy today. I think it might be the weather.
Any one else feeling draggy?

Dreamer: Get on those scales and see where that 4 lbs are..and if they are still there get a plan to get them off..don't let them hang around.
I am like you, I get busy and those lbs sneak in on me..we have to fight them off!

Glad to hear you got the apartment.

Carri: I watched the Biggest Loser as well. I think it's going to get interesting from here on out. Those left are hard core I think.

Dee: I'm watching Dancing with the Stars and right now I just love watching everyone dance...I will say the "eye candy" is great this season!

Mandy: I really need to work on the protein. Would you mind sharing how you get that much protein in?

04-11-2012, 08:27 PM
today's dinner had 75g of protein... i had 2 tilapia filets (they are packed with protein!) and 3oz of small shrimp in garlic/parm butter as a topper (shrimp are also packed with protein and healthy fats!) there was a little more protein in the corn, parm, and salad i had, but not much.

breakfast had 25g protein... 2.5 eggs, with some cheese, ham, green pepper, and onion... a banana and some 100% fruit juice.

lunch was pork bbq on a low carb/high fiber tortilla (12g fiber!)... i had 47g protein in my lunch because i had 6oz of pork + 1/4c mozz cheese on the wrap.

i also had a protein shake with skim milk and 1 scoop protein powder that had 34g protein.

later i will have a shake after dinner that will be 2c skim milk (16g protein) 2 scoops protein powder (52g protein), a banana (for the potassium), and 1tbsp of peanut butter, that has 4g protein, so it will have 74g of protein there. (but it's also 650 calories, so like an extra meal!)

edit: that puts me at 257g protein today... and almost 3000 calories. but i'll be working out hard at the gym tonight, so i plan on using it up!

i get my protein from a lot of meat and dairy. i'm lucky that i'm not lactose intolerant!

04-12-2012, 11:23 AM
Morning Girls ….

Susie – did you see the previews for next week’s biggest loser? That is the one where all the contestants walked out on the show…did you hear about that about a month or two ago? It was all over the news when it happened, but I guess on next weeks episode we get to see how it played out.
Should be interesting ….

Dee – Just thinking about a Cinco de Mayo party makes my mouth water…I am glad that it is on a Saturday so I can plan a little get together too…I wanna try those skinny margheritas you were talking about a while ago …and I can make fresh salsa ….oh yeah this is gonna be good

Mandy – I would like to get more protein in by way or protein shake but I can never find one I like or one that doesn’t have artificial sweetner in it …since I am lactose intolerant I was gonna mix it with my Almond Milk…maybe I will go to GNC and see what they have …

Not much going on here …I do have to confess that I had a binge night on Tuesday …it was bad…talking about going through McDonalds and getting a large Double Cheeseburgar meal ( comes with large coke and large fries ) with a side of a McChicken sandwich…came home and ate all that in minutes and went on to buttered popcorn, sour cream and cheddar Ruffles, Mountain Dew, chocolate chips, etc ….it was all in my stomach in a matter of about 15-20 mins and it was AWFUL, I was so full that it was clear up in my throat ….and it hurt …I guess it just teaches me that even though I am doing really well I still don’t have a handle on this completely and need to be on my guard …I have put it behind me and have moved on…because yesterday was a new day and I made it a good one.

Everybody have a good day.

04-12-2012, 03:56 PM
carri - i use a whey protein which has ill effects on those who are lactose intolerant. my vegan friend uses a hemp protein powder and says it's good, and less processed than soy powders.

last night at the gym was great :D 717 calories burned, and i kicked major butt on the elliptical, even if it was only for 30 mins, i did half of it at the highest incline with a pretty decent resistance (12 out of 15 on this machine)... felt like i was pushing through quick sand at first, but i kept my pace above 100 on that, and on the lower kept my pace to 150 (strides per minute)... then i went over to the weights side (i'm backwards, but i like to finish with weights) and I MANAGED TO BICEP CURL 25LB WEIGHTS :D then i made my hubby feel like a wimp cause i either did the same or higher weights on the other exercises *flex* i felt buff.

hope you guys have a great day!

04-12-2012, 04:19 PM
Girls fill me in on the BL drama, cause NBC signal doesn't always come in & I have to go to their website to get updates.

Cassie, don't let classes & life & stress screw-up your metabolism, we want ya to b healthy. Take time for a bubble-bath, go swimming or whatever it takes to chill-out :cloud9: ask your boyfriend to join you.

Hope y'all have a wonderful weekend, Dee :dust:

04-13-2012, 10:04 AM
My weigh-in didn't go well. I was up major! 3 lbs! It wasn't food but rather soda. While I was within my calorie range (right at the limit) even with the soda counted, it ALWAYS makes me gain.

I am usually a water drinker, but last week I kept letting a coke or two sneak in here and there. I'm lucky all I had was a gain and that it didn't flare up my IC! I was pretty made at myself last night, but today is a new day and I have 7 days to get that 3 lbs off. I'm not changing my ticker but if it isn't all gone next week then I will. BUT, I plan on taking it off and more..even if it is just 1/2 more!

Dee: Sorry to see that you had a gain well as your chapter. Our chapter was in the red last night too. I did the proram last night and it was about changing your bad habits to good ones.

I approached it from the sentence in the pledge that says : I am an intellgient person, I will control my emotions and not let my emotions control me.

I started there because all the research I did about habits is that they come from our subconscious which holds our emotions as well. So, to change a bad habit is to change it in our subconscious and we do that by swapping out bad habits for new good habits. In doing so, we control our emotions..and that gives us back the power.

When i was watcing the BL on Tuesday, and Chris got a call from her husband that effected her emtionally she let those emotions control her by binging. That is a habit she has when she feels overwhelmed and out of control. She hasn't yet exchanged that habit for a good one; like maybe going for a walk instead or calling a friend to talk it through.

Carri/Dee: As for the drama on the BL show that will be the topic of next weeks show it is going to be interesting. I really didn't know what was going on (I dont' get to watch the news much and I don't look at the webpages when they come up; I just go to the sites on my computer that I want to be one) so I googled it and it looks like the show was going to bring back elminated contestants and give them a shot at the big prize. I would say that stirred up a lot of things.

Carri: Glad you kept the binge to one day and one meal...and that you moved on. I'm excited for you to be doing another contest at work. I think this one will get you to ONEDERLand. :cheer2::cheer3: TEAM Carri!

Mandy: You are doing great and I can tell it makes you feel great and THAT will get you to your goal.

I am a Vegitarian, but I do eat eggs, so I have a lot of trouble getting my protein in. I'm always looking for ways to do it.

Ok ladies...I must get some work done. Have a GREAT Friday!

04-13-2012, 11:29 AM
susie - my best friend is vegan, with a slight nut allergy, and she has a major issue with proteins too. i think she gets a lot of hers from beans. i know she eats a lot of hummus. i'll talk to her about her protein sources, and get back to you :)

04-13-2012, 05:47 PM
Susie ask 'your chef' about getting more protein.

Here is one of my fav Hummus recipes:
Sweet Pea Hummus:
1 cup sweet peas, cooked in boiling lightly salted water for 2 minutes then strain & cool on a baking tray in the frig. (fresh or frozen taste best)
1 garlic clove
1/2 avocado
8 fresh mint leaves
juice from 1 lemon
¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
salt and pepper to taste
In a food processor puree everything together and season to taste with salt and fresh ground black pepper.

Use as a dip, spread on a main dish, or w pasta, or as a spread etc. Use it like you also use pesto. I always rinse my canned veggies to lower their sodium & chemical content.

I gotta go now,

04-14-2012, 12:45 PM

Mandy: I'm looking forward to the information your friend gives to you about the protien.

I went for a walk this morning...great way to start the day! Now on to housework. Have a great day everyone!

04-15-2012, 10:38 AM
Yesterday was a very rainy and stormy day here in Ohio. After I got my walk in yesterday morning, the rain started.

It was nice was relaxing and I got a lot done in the house. My office is FINALLY organzed once again, the groceries for the week are bought and the house is clean.

This morning is church and I have a couple of projects to work on this afternoon--I want to get my password list all in one place on a spreadsheet. I have this folder with all of them in it, writte on seperate pieces of paper and it's just a mess, so I will use Excel to organize.

I also want to download some new workout music for my ipod and I have a new book to start reading. I bet I take a nap in there somewhere and tonight I will take a walk.

I was within my calorie range yesterday (back to putting it in my Lose It app) I was within the middle of the range.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend and I hope someone posts soon!

04-15-2012, 11:19 AM
Just a quick pop in. Weigh in Only showed me down one pound this week to 217 so I am not real happy about that. However I did have a lot of sodium in both my lunch and dinner so I might see the 216 tomorrow morning. Have a great Sunday.

04-15-2012, 10:03 PM
hey ladies :) we are home from a weekend away.

because we were out with a bunch of guys, food came from the following sources: zaxbys, local catering (baked ziti), chick fil a, a local diner, chinese take out, mc donalds, and wendys. OY.

my stomach is really not happy with the grease, and the rest of me is not happy with the sodium. but other than the food, the weekend was great and the weather was gorgeous, and i'm sun-burnt from being outside all day yesterday. back to healthy stuff tomorrow... i vaguely resemble (and feel like) a ripe, plump tomato.

04-16-2012, 11:16 AM
Good Morning , hope you all had a great OP weekend ...I did ....:D

Weekends just go by WAY too fast when you work a M-F job and look forward to them so much, haha

Anybody do anything fun? We went to our friends daughters art exhibit and then out to a tapas bar for a late dinner on Saturday...Sunday we just basically hung around the house and acted silly ....caught up on DVR shows and just was nice and warm yesterday but the wind was insane, we still have a wind warning in the area ...about blows you over...

Have a good Monday everyone !!!

04-16-2012, 11:40 AM
Also ( and Susie can relate to this with the Lose It app ), I finally updated my Lose It app with my real weight and lost 59 cals per day ….so this is gonna be a harder week for me …but I bet I see a better loss at this week end. Should have been updating it weekly and then it wouldn’t have been so drastic ….oh well I guess

See ya !!

04-16-2012, 12:07 PM
hubby and i went to an ultimate frisbee tournament in richmond, va. the weekend was fantastic in all ways except for food lol. well, food and sunburn. :)

04-16-2012, 03:19 PM

if anyone is interested in reading more about what i've experienced with my eating more healthy calories diet plan, i've just posted a fairly lengthy blog detailing the differences between high calorie, unhealthy foods diet, low calorie diet, and higher calorie healthy foods diet. :)

04-16-2012, 03:43 PM
Mandy your frisbee tournament sounded so much fun. Sunburn~ouch sounds like you needed your umbrella for shade :rain:

Carri what's the name of the 'tapas bar' you went to, it sounds yummy. I'll google it to see if there is 1 within a 2 hr drive of me. What was your fav & what isn't so good? Your metabolism sounds right-on-target for burning up your food in-take daily, so I know you'll keep losing everyweek :dancer: 'Team Carri' :cheer3:

Susie I wish I had your energy level all weekend, your to-do list made me tired just reading it :smug: I'd need lots of protein & chocolate to keep up w your list :chockiss:

Have a great Monday! Dee

04-17-2012, 11:53 AM
Good morning girls…well I got thru yesterday’s calorie drop first day …I really think I needed it, think my body has gotten used to the certain amount I was having daily for the last couple of months …I am starting to realize that I need to incorporate better food choices in my daily meals…for example I would normally have a sandwich and baked chips for lunch ( sometimes cottage cheese ) and today I brought carrots to go along with my sandwich instead of the chips…dinners I usually do pretty well, we pretty much always have a lean meat and a veggie …I have a pressure cooker ( new modern type ones I bought off of qvc ) and make pork chops in it, turned out pretty well …and then we had asparagus with it…for my evening snack I had two halves of deviled eggs that dh made ( he follows lower carb plan too ), as I don’t like to have carbs in the evening, too hard to work off while I sleep, haha …tonight I think we are having some lean beef with broccoli and cauliflower steamed …sounds down right exciting huh?

Dee – I wouldn’t recommend this tapas place …it was just a local place called Sonata ( don’t know if spelled right ) , they actually served us raw chicken…after I saw that me and my friend lost our appetites completely ….they offered us replacements and said the chicken rolls would be comped ( well I hope so since they were inedible ) but after seeing all that raw chicken under the bacon none of us could really eat …instead of comping us the chicken rolls you should have comped us the whole meal , but I wasn’t paying so I didn’t say much …we all could have ended up really sick from that …we won’t be going back…there are other tapas places though that we can try around us.

Mandy – I LOVE Chick Fil A ….those chicken nuggets are the best !! Glad to hear you had a good time over the weekend. Don’t worry about the food and sunburn part, that comes with the weekend outside territory, lol

Susie – Hello, hope you are having a good start to your week. Wanna come clean my house this weekend? Hahahaha Remember tonight is the Biggest Loser episode that the contestants walk off of, is gonna be a good one

Well guess I better get back to work …have a good day all ….

04-17-2012, 12:18 PM
The sunburn is starting to itch! ugh.

But in other news, I purchased The New Rules of Lifting for Women, Women's Health: Big Book of Exercises, and a Body Fat Analyzer!

My husband's comment: Why aren't you like normal women who get excited over shoes and purses?

04-17-2012, 04:02 PM
Hi Everyone. I didn't get a chance to get her yesterday as I worked from 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m and at a quick salad at my desk.

My week is crazy as my Director from the UK is here this week and there are a lot of meetings this week and I'm sort of "on call" and in "demand". She's a lovely lady and I'm happy to assist her. It's just that I have a lot of other things that I do too in my role, like support my Associate Director!

Yesterday was my 5 yr service anniversary and that is a good thing. I get 3 weeks of vacation now and I get to choose a "gift"...I've got my eye on a ring or a watch. I also saw my compensation go up. ;)

I made sure to get a lot of walks in over the weekend because I wasn't sure how much my evenings would be affected. Last night I didn't get to exercise but I think tonight I will.

Mandy: It sounds like you had a very nice weekend and it also sounds like you are getting back on plan. Your husband's comment made me laugh!

Carri: I think that since you updated your Lose It app you will see more weight come back off..but you know...a pound is good and I bet this week it will be 2 lbs.
I can't wait to see Biggest Loser tonight!

Dee: I think your DH just loves you the way you are and he doesn't want you to feel like you have to diet. But sometimes men are a pain for sure!
And you know, they think that if they are happy with the way we look then we should be too. But you know, WE own our bodies!

As for my to-do list, it makes me tired too..and I'm trying to do more protein and no chocolate! But sometimes the chocolate does sneak in. I'm a very high energy person and I always have a to-do list. That's why my DH is so good for me; he is a lot more laid back so he balances me when I need it.

I'm just sort of weird..having things orderly makes me happy and I like to "putter" around organizing.

Ok..back to work for me..I ate at my desk again but I decided I needed to put me first somehow so I took a break to check in here and get my motivation! You all are special to me and it makes me feel good to come here and read and "talk".

04-18-2012, 11:25 AM
Good Morning Girls  Hope everyone is having a good morning ...I am so far ...nice and sunny day out...always puts a smile on one's face

So did anyone watch B Loser last night? Susie ? I found it all very interesting and cannot believe that contestants actually walked off the show and lost the chance at the 250k after all that hard work...but oh well I guess...cant wait until next weeks show to see who is coming back from the at home contestants.

Mandy - I get from your posts that you are not exactly a girly girl, and from your husbands comments, haha :belly: I think after all this is said and done you are gonna have a rockin bod, muscular and strong :lifter:

Susie - those are LONG hours, don't know how you do it, I barely get thru my 8 hrs here ...congrats on your five years, always love getting a raise and more vacation time ...go for the ring !! I wish I was more organized like you but I just don't have it in me, I know dh wishes I was too.

Dee - I agree with Susie, it is your body and if you would feel more comfortable losing more weight then do it ...I applaud dh's message though in telling you that you are beautiful as you are now and don't need to lose more...maybe do some soul searching and see if he is right?

Well I think for dinner tonight I am making low carb cordon blue ( probably mispelled that ) with broccoli :broc: Dh has been working late all week so I sort of fix dinner, eat by myself and then heat up his food when he gets home....kind of lonely  but he will probably not work a lot this weekend hopefully.

Okay well have a good day everyone !!!!!

04-18-2012, 11:33 AM
Also is anyone interested in posting what they had for the previous day at the end of their posts? Thought it might help give some of us ( or anyone lurking ) some ideas maybe? What do you think? I know I get bored with what I am eating and making EVERY week …

Here is mine from yesterday

Breakfast –
Half wheat bagel
Strawberry cream cheese
