Just a quick drive by for me today. My deprivation caught up with me last night. I woke up, looked at my clock and said, "can it really be that late?!" Indeed it was. Clearly my body needed the rest and if it over sleeping had to happen any day, good that it was a Friday. While I had 3 back-to-back meetings my morning was clear enough to allow for it. I keep telling myself that I WILL do something about this but haven't followed through. Where I work the phrase "work life balance" gets a lot of traction. Like unicorns and I think it's just a myth
Have a safe and wonderful weekend!
@KateB: Love, love, love your daughter's response I think winning that cruise was her reward! And how fantastic that the bridal expo used Roller Derby gals. Don't know if you had or if there was an opportunity to provide feedback, but if so, I think it's worth mentioning how you enjoyed their inspired choice!
@Kukkie84: Congrats on your last lunch with the gang and moving on to the new position. Departing one job for another on excellent terms is the way to go
@tefrey:
@Martine and Kukkie84: Okay, this is it ladies. This is the month we get out of our respective weight ruts! The three of us have been maintaining pretty much our same weight but it sounds like there is greater resolve this month. Let's do this

Thank you Sunshinie, love2b150 and curvynotlumpy for the words of encouragement. Right back at you!
KateB that expo sounded fabulous. How wonderful that your daughter won that trip, she totally deserved it after talking down those women. Some people need to put others down to build themselves up and I will never understand it.
Just exercised for another hour. I'm making up for the days that I did not exercise this week. Tried new things: cardio pilates (hate it), kickboxing (love it but really suck at it) and some new abs workout (which must work cause my abs are sore right now). But that swoosh on Oct 1st did not last, back to that darn 233 this morning. Body, tell me why you are resisting the 220s so much?!
@winning: YOU can do this! I'm not a betting woman but I'm betting on all of us who for whatever reason haven't broken through to our next goal.
A beautiful Saturday morning here that was perfect for a little Farmer's Market shopping. Decided to do something a little crazy (at least for me). I decided to run the Portland (Oregon) Shamrock Shuffle in March 2016. When I first became a member of 3FC I was an avid runner; at least 3-4 times per week. Injuries and various life stress led to more , less and lots more weight. I haven't felt like a runner in very long time. Instead, I feel heavy, lethargic, and moving through life like there is a film over it. I'm a goal driven person. For me goals need to be tangible and the stakes high. Again, at least for me. I'm not a "live on the edge" kind of gal by a long shot Somehow shelling out the registration fee and reserving a hotel room does that. This will be an adventure. I looked back and March 2016 will mark 2 years since I've ran in a race and that one was also a race. An added bonus is the opportunity to do an out of town and state race and reuniting with a friend I haven't seen in a couple of years as well.
Now it's on to a training plan. I have roughly 20 weeks until the race; 10 more weeks than than the standard training plan. And I need to make it work for and with my life. I WILL do this!
curvynotlumpy go you on running the Portland Shamrock Shuffle! That is such a great goal to work towards. I've always admired people who run, it's just not for me.
Another workout done. I'm sticking to my plan, varying workouts, we'll see if it pays off by the end of the month.
@Martine: I'm with Rennie; on your hour long workouts AND being so committed that you want to make up missed workouts!
Rennie: Nice to see you. Did you have a good weekend? You can drop those 5 pounds. You've had some steady drops and success in the last week so I wouldn't be concerned.
@bigjoe: Usually the week just flies by so here's hoping Wednesday will get here quicker than you think!
@winning15: Indeed; a drop is a drop. Be proud!
Thanks ladies for all the support on my goal to do something healthy and a little nutty One of the requirements to do this race is that you have to most of it. While I don't *think* I will be able to it all, I'd like to have my run/walk intervals steady and predictable. Since I have 20 weeks, the first part of my training plan will be more intense walking. I walk a lot just in my daily life so it's going to be a challenge to stick to the low mileage some of the novice training programs recommend. However, if this means that I reduce the chance of injury, then that's extra motivation.
Curvy, I wish we were close to one another (though I don't know where you are) but I would love a walking buddy. I work most weekends unless I request off but all in all it was a nice weekend. My daughter and her husband blessed us with their presence yesterday so that was a plus
Rennie thank you @ Onederland, I tried replying back sooner but accidentally closed the page before sending the message , and put it off until now . I'm glad you're enjoying the Beanitos chips, you have to try the puffs, a whole bag is only 360 calories! Whole Foods and Sprouts have them.
Love2B Yesterday was supposed to be green, since it was a lost. Lol! I use my starting weight for the month and subtract it from my daily weight.
Yesterday my 9 yr. niece and I did our training for her first 5k. It is going to be fun running with her and having a running partner for a change. We also did a 3 mile bike ride after. She is so motivated, so I have to try and keep her that way.
