Ouch!
Oh, Susan, I am so sorry. It makes me so mad that you have to endure that girl.
Please take good care of yourself.

Sue - I hope you don't swell too much. But as far as the black eyes... you wil at least be more like me and my permant ones. I am sooo sorry! I know it hurts.

I have been on the phone with my wonderful big sister all day. As most of you know, we worry and hurt together.

Well tomorrow is going to be a long day for me. My Manda has an appointment with a pediatric cardiologist to have tests run for a heart murmur that her doctor found last week during her regular visit. I know it is common, but it doen't take a mothers fear away. I just pray is if fine.

What is this... the quiet one is talkative this week. I guess I just have a lot to say.

Well something funny has happened to me this last week. I think I might have found what I have been missing for 9 years. I became a stay at home mom when I had Amanda 9 1/2 years ago and have been looking into things I could do. My degree is in accounting, but that is not calling me. This week I have been getting my CPR and First Aid Red Cross certifications for Girl Scouts. I was talking with my instructor and the director of training for Girl SCouts San Antonio last night after class. Sienna (the director), offered me a position with the Council to become an instructor for CPR/ First Aid. They will pay to send me to a 3 day instructor school.

Girl Scouts is my passion and seeing the girls grow is magical.

With Zack starting school in the Fall and growing up too soon, I need to feel that void.

This weekend, I am going on a Troop Leadership Camp training weekend an hour north of SA. I can't wait! Except for the fact that it is suppose to be in the high 3o's - 70's on Saturday. This little Texas Miss is going to freeze!
I will let you know how it goes!

Sue - How is the nose?

Where is everyone?

Hi all,
I'm down with an awful cold. Yuck! I have those little sore places in my mouth. Yuck, again! At least I'll probably lose some weight.

Amy, how was your daughter's doctor visit? And, congratulations on the new job. That's fantastic!!!!!

Susan, how is your nose? We want an update.

I hope everyone else is okay since no one is posting much!!!!!

Okay, I'm going back to the sofa and watch mindless TV

Susan!!! I just read about your nose!!! Ouch is right! One of my friends is an aide in an MH room. She was head butted a few years ago. The principal and a supervisor were in the room when it happened. Luckily, Melissa's was hit in the back of the head, not the face. She didn't see it coming though.

Amy, how were Amanda's tests? Prayers are with you. It is common, but we always worry, don't we? That is awesome about being offered that position! The right place at the right time? Keep in mind about the camping, that Tim's troop goes to Canada and camps in the snow every January. Doesn't that make you feel all warm and cozy??? lol

Tina, feel better soon!! No fun! Well, the sofa and TV might be fun!!

BIG NEWS!!!! The elementary principal resigned at the board meeting Monday night! We are all in shock! We didn't find out until yesterday since we ended up cancelling on Tuesday. I didn't get on the computer last night, so I couldn't let you all know! Would a party be too obvious? lol

The superintendent came to me yesterday afternoon because I had written a letter stating that I plan to only go 120 days next year, then retire. I told him that I think someone else should go into the 4th grade classroom so the students will have the same teacher the whole year. I had this crew of kids last year, and they need consistency (to say the least!). There is a tutoring position that is paid full time. That teacher would love a classroom. I mentioned her to the supt.

Then I mentioned that I don't even know how many days I'll be there anyway, the way my back has been. We talked about disability, then he asked if I'd be interested in using my sick days. I catch on quick. There is still one teacher who was RIFed last year. If I would use my sick days for 120 days, they could call Beth back to do the tutoring position. She is currently a part-time aide in the new preschool that we have. I'd love to see her get a full time job back. Bob and I have talked about it. I know I wouldn't get as much severence pay by using that many days, but I wouldn't have the stress of being there. Of course, I'm sure life will be better for everyone with the principal gone. It can't get worse!

Well, that's the scoop from Ohio!!

It's Party Time!!!!!

Tammy, that is fantastic about the principal leaving!!!!!!! Yes, yes, yes, we are going to have a big party----even if it's a cyber party.
And, you deserve to take your sick days and leave that place. Yes, it will get easier without "him" but you don't feel good and need to get out of there!
I am soooooo happy to hear your news.

LOL Isn't it great? It seems like everyone is less tense already! I don't know if it's possible or we're just imagining it. I'm still having the back problems, so I guess things aren't all hunky dorry. (I have no idea how to spell that!!) Bob and I talked this morning (he's still at his brother's in Tampa) about the $$ situation. We think we'll be fine. I go to my doctor on April 4, the rheumatologist. I'm going to explain the situation to her.

Woo Hoo!!!! It's about time that the principal quit!!!! I'm so happy for you!!!!

Tammy, take care of yourself and do what is best for you!!!

Tina, what's new with you?

As for me, I'm finally getting to go to an ENT on Wednesday, March 29. He is on the southside of town. It's not the best neighborhood at night so Pat is going to take me. I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to have surgery on my nose. It's nice and swollen and hurts like the dickens!!!! It would be one thing if my student did it on purpose but this is part of her disability. Her mom felt just horrible. Let me tell you, if you've never had a broken nose (I haven't) you feel horrible all of over!!! I told a friend of mine, Man I didn't even get the black eyes..... if I'm going to have a broken nose I want them. Now isn't that silly?

Amy is off to her camp out! Hope she has fun.

Susan, we are all pretty tickled that he is leaving. Sure wish the board would have done something years ago, I'm sure our lives would have been much less stressful. I hope the doctor will go for the plan of just using the sick days. The superintendent is ready to let me do it, but I'll need a doctor's note. I believe that I'll feel better once the principal is gone, but I know the pain is still going to be there.

I agree with you about needing those black eyes!! What good is a broken nose if you can't have them!!!! LOL

Hope Amy is having a blast.

I need to get started. I slept in this morning. Must have turned the alarm off sometime during the night because I woke up when the water aerobics class was starting. Kind of missed it. I'll need to do something later since I missed it. Need to get some things done around the house since Bob will be home tomorrow sometime. And of course, there are the endless stacks of papers to grade. HEY! If I would end up doing the tutoring next year, I wouldn't have that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tina hope you're feeling better.
Mimi, where are you??
Well, i've weighed myself and i'm down 10 lbs since i quit smoking again about 25 days. I can't believe it, but i sure feel great. I haven't skated in years, but ladies, this old broad is going to start living again. Boy i just feel fantastic and I sure hope everyone here does too.

Afternoon everyone,
I'm actually feeling better today. I've had those little ulcers in my mouth, on one side, and they've been driving me nuts because they hurt so much. (long sentence!)
It's such a pretty day here. We woke up to cold weather but it's now 70 outside.
Susan, I can't believe you haven't been to an ENT yet! I'm so sorry you hurt.
Tammy, is your porch okay? How does Kramer like it?
Maureen, you go girl!!!!! Losing 10 pounds is something else.
Take it easy on those skates. Have fun!
Sis, how are the wedding plans? Can you tell us about the dress you are going to wear?
Mimi, you are way too quiet. I hope you are completely well now.
Jody, did you fall off the face of the earth?????
Noble1, how are you doing?
Later........

It was a beautiful day here too! Started off cold but sure warmed up. We toook the dogs for a long walk and they sure enjoyed it.

I'm not feeling the greatest. I just want to sleep. Not sure if I'm just lazy or that it cause of my nose. I can't wait to go to the doctor.

Tina, ouch!!!!! my mouth hurts for you. Pat uses some mouth rinse that he uses when he gets them. A friend of his, brother was a doctor and came up with the combination. I'll have to get it and send it to you. Now his dentist just calls it in for him.

Tammy, I hope you get to take your days. You need to do that!!!!

Maureen, WAY TO GO!!!!!!! I would have much more than a broken nose if I went ice skating.

I've been eating too much junk since I broke my nose. I've stopped at Sonic and gotten the strawberry creme pie shake. (One of my comfort foods) I know it's just cause I don't feel great but don't need to keep eating junk.

Hope ya'll have a great weekend.

Tina, we had snow again today! I had trouble seeing when I was driving home from WalMart this afternoon. Glad you are feeling a little better! I'm satisfied with the porch, but we'll see what Bob says. Kramer will like it much better after we move his glider up here!! lol

Susan, I think I would like your comfort food!! Sounds yummy!! I made myself a couple pancakes with sugar free syrup for supper.

Snow in the Spring. That's something else. I know lots of places are having cold weather -- still! Brrr.....
It's in the low 70's here today and the sun is out.
I'm actually feeling almost back to normal today.

Hope everyone has a good day and a good Monday.
Any new recipes out there????? Our grocery had split chicken breasts on sale for 99 cents a pound. I've got loads in the freezer now. I need recipes!
