Tina, welcome back!!! Boo hiss on the luggage issue. That stinks.
We spent all day working at the estate on Tim's Eagle project. Part of it was to clear out honeysuckle plants and clean trails of rocks. Well, today was rock day! I can't believe how many rocks we got out of the trail that we were doing. I know we loaded and emptied 5 or 6 "gator" loads. It was fun, but boy were we all getting tired. We had planned to stay until 4, but we ended up leaving at 3:15. We're going back over Thursday after school to finish up that trail.
There were 9 of us there. Right now 4 of the 9 are in the basement. (Tim, Jessica, Brent, and Kaydee) Everyone went home, cleaned up, ate supper, and those other 3 came back. They are shooting pool right now. The ping pong table collapsed a while ago, so I think we'll be fixing it tomorrow. lol
They're going to watch movies and just hang out. I'd rather have them here than out running around. It's raining and I don't like slick roads. I can't believe they still wanted to be together after working at the estate today!!! Young Love!! (or crush!!!)
That's all for now. I need to get some papers graded.
Hi All,
Yes, young love is wonderful!!!!! And at that age, they have so much energy.
Tammy, tell us more about this trail. I don't think you mentioned it before.
Great news------our luggage is back. Now, I have an uneasy feeling about Continental's ability to put luggage on the correct plane. Larry has flown quite a bit because of work and has never had this happen. Oh well, hopefully it's a one-time occurance.
Now, I have to empty that case---that big case .
Anyone want to share a recipe? I need some inspiration.
Tina
I have a great recipe for cole slaw. I've changed it some and it one of my favorite things to eat. I'll write it up and post it later today.
I went with Pat to play last night. Little did we know they would start playing at 10:30 because of the time change, so they finished up at 3:00 (2:00 with the time change). Can you so WAY TOO LATE!!!
Hope everyone has a great day! Tammy, I have a stack of papers for you to grade too. I don't think the stack will ever get shorter.
Oh, oh, oh,
I would love that cole slaw recipe. I used to make it all the time but haven't in ages. It's funny how we get on a kick and then forget about it.
I'm so full. Since it was so cool today, we went out for Mexican food tonight. It just seemed the right thing to do.
We now have heat in the house. So, in the morning, I don't have any excuse not to exercise. I'll be getting on that treadmill early in the morn.
Tina,
I love the cooler weather. It's so nice! I'm still not use to the time change. I'm already for bed and it's not even 8:30. I'll email you the receipe.
Happy Wednesday to everyone!
What is on tap for everyone today???? Guess that's a silly question because so many are already at work.
I miss the regiment of having to get up at a certain time and hurrying to get ready and go to work and then picking up a paycheck.
I don't think we've talked about Halloween this year.
Tammy, is Tim going to a party?
Susan, is Pat playing at a Halloween bash somewhere?
Sis, does your daughter still go out trick-or-treating, or go to a party?
Sheree, Maureen, Kady, anyone-------????????
I've got to get to the store and buy candy. Lots of new families with lots of children have moved to our area.
Like last year, I bought stuff that we wouldn't eat. Anything left over was thrown away.
The trails that are part of the project have rocks sticking up that cause major damage to mower blades and to people walking. We're digging those out. Also, there are honeysuckle plants overgrowing some of the trails, so we'll be cutting those back.
Tomorrow after school I'm taking a van load over to the estate to do more. I hope we can finish off the one trail before it gets dark. Then I'm taking everyone for supper. (only McDonalds, but they'll like it!).
Tim will be involved with the Academic team in competition on Saturday most of the day. That night is a Halloween thing at an apple farm outside of town. They have special things on the weekends for kids in the fall. My nephew's band will be playing that night, so Bob and I will be going too. Tim will be going with Jessica and probably Brent and Kaydee.
Tina, I'm looking forward to retirement!
I think I'd do it today if I could. Less than 4 years. Hope I can hang on. lol
Hi all. Hope all is well. Tina, no my dd doesn't want to go trick or treating this year. That is all good with me as sugar doesn't seem to set well with her if she eats much. She ends up running to the bathroom. A lot. So I think we will figure out something else to do. There is a corn maze around here that they do every year so I am thinking of trying to talk her into that. That is if my back lets up. I have been having muscle spasms bad, yesterday and today. I hope it quits before the week end. Have a great day everyone.....Sis
It's the day before Halloween!!!! Wheeee!
Sis, I hope your back gets to feeling lots better quickly. I've never had that problem and don't know how bad it can feel.
Susan, how are your allergies?
Tammy, I'm glad Tim is having suvh a good time with his friends (especially Jessica). Thanks for telling us more about the project.
Is anyone else out there??? Boy, we need more friends to post. Everyone have a great day.
Tina
Did anyone resist candy tonight? I bought Snickers because I don't eat them. Well, I was soooo hungry before supper that I ate 3 miniature Snickers. They weren't even that good.
Hope everyone is okay and has a good weekend.
Tina
Tina- thanks for the well wishes. My back is a lot better today. Still a bit sore but better.
I know what you mean on the candy. There are those you can't resist and then sometimes you just have a sweet tooth for anything sweet. We can do this. Have a great week end....Sis
It's a great Saturday
Sis----have a fantastic time on your anniversary getaway. I knew it was coming up soon. But, this year is just flying by so fast. Can y'all believe that it is already November !
It's time to start decorating for Turkey Day.
I never decorated far in advance but do now since "everyone else" does.
I guess we'd better start bringing out all our WW recipes for the holidays. I hope I can find all of mine.
Once again, no trick or treaters! We've never had any in 18 years. We never did in the apartment and then I think it's because we live so far off the road, etc. There is a pre-school at school for teacher's kids and then Head start babies, they came by my room. I had candy for the older ones and for the babies toothbrushes. They can't have food, so they said that would be a good idea. They were so cute!!!
I did take candy to my students and had some. Ended up not eating supper last night because I just wasn't hungry. I hope this next week shows something good on the scale. TOM ended up coming for a visit so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
LOL to the Snickers. I bought those too. Bob and Tim like them. I can take them or leave them. I've had one, so I guess that's not too bad.
This weekend has gone entirely too fast! I know I've stayed busy, but I'm not even sure what all I've done. Bob worked yesterday, and Tim was with the Academic Team at a meet most of the day. Pretty quiet around here.
Jessica and her family just pulled in and are talking to Tim. They are such nice people. I guess I'll go see what's happening! Toodles!!
Yesterday, the weather was beautiful. I raked leaves, cleaning between our newly-planted ground cover. Today, I feel muscles I'd forgotten about.
'got to drink lots of water today because I went out and had Chinese for lunch yesterday.
I take my mother for a blood test today. She had the new flu but is almost perfectly over it now.
