G'day everyone,

I am pleased some of you are keen to share their picture with us. I am very happy to help you post them.
I am still waiting for my poppies to flower, as soon as they do I will be attaching a photo of them, I am sure they will be beautiful.

Marnie depending on the photo, I can even 'shave off' a few pounds!!!!! I have attached a before and after photo of myself.
Please note, I only share this photo with friends, I think it is pretty gutsy to show the whole world this photo!!!!

My dh took the photo whilst I was driving in New Zealand somewhere, I was about to delete the photo (wonderful option with digital cameras ) when I decided to see if I could fix it.

Hope it was just a routine appointment Peggy with the doctors.

KarenI know a little about hearing aids, my f-i-l has had one for years. Last week I took him to have another one fitted. They have certainly improved over the years. Unfortunately with f-i-l he turns them off all the time, because he wants a bit of 'peace' Much to the frustration of all his children. He is 90 so I guess he is entitled to do as he pleases.
This last one was quite expensive ($1500 as compared to $175 four years ago when he last updated them) so we told him to get his money's worth and keep it turned on
The forecasts here are for a very hot summer, we had a particularly cold winter so you might be right that you are due for a very cold winter
Weather patterns are so strange, we have had the coldest start to October for 90 years. Whilst I was in Sydney a few weeks ago, they recorded the hottest September day since records were kept

Trudy Pleased to hear you had an enjoyable Thanksgiving. Slavika must still be celebrating, I have missed her posts.

Have a great day all,
Cheers
Maria

Hi Everybody
I can't believe how busy our board has been, and what fun it was to have so much to read.
Maria You certainly have the "magic touch" when it comes to working with photo's...well done! I'm glad you got most of the wine out of your carpet.
Karen so your son is engaged now.............. when are they planning to be married? Since she loves your son I'm sure she will love his daughter too. How old is the child and how often does he get to see her? I'm glad you are finding the new hearing aids so helpful. What was the reason that you lost some of hearing? I have a very close friend who has trouble hearing but she says that hearing aids would not help her, but it's been years since she really looked into it. I had mentioned that she should maybe look into seeing what's new with hearing aids.
Glenda where are you these days? We haven't heard from you in a LONG time.
Peggy by the sounds of your post it looks like you will be working for your niece again during the holiday season. How did your doctor's appt go?
Ann I'm glad that your dog is doing ok. You've had her/him for a long time, and they sure steal their way into our hearts.
Marnie hi there, it was nice to see you back. Sounds like you had a nice and busy time when your sister was visiting.
We had a lovely time at the lake over the Thanksgiving weekend. On Saturday evening it was warm enough to sit out on the deck and watch hundreds of geese flying overheard. They are just amazing the way they fly in the "V" formation, with the leader giving up the head spot when he tires and another goose taking over. We could not believe how many were flying over us and those geese were honking the whole time. It was wonderful!
DH just got home, he was a grand opening for a new car dealership, so I'll say good-night for now, and talk to you all tomorrow.

Slavika I have a conductive(?) hearing loss and as I get older it just gets worse. This last doctor I saw was amazed that I can do what I do.( WW leader). I had to admit all my members are very helpful. and I do read lips some. He also felt that I was impaired at birth because of my speech patterns(?) It was not discovered until I was 9 years old. But with these new aids I feel like I'm in a brand new world. So encourage your friend to just go and get checked out. They have computerized everything. These even know when to turn themselves down a bit like a loud noise happens or when I vacuum. I am truly amazed.

DS's daughter will be 8 in November. We only get to see here once a year for a month. They are planning a wedding for next summer.

Maria I know a lot of people who like the on- off switch. This pair cost me $3300 . 3 years ago I paid $1900 for a pair. 10 years ago it was $990 and 30 years ago I paid $250. And that pair is still working.

Morning All,

Maria sent you an email. You can certainly crop my friend out. I like your before and after. It's amazing what you can do. I should have a full picture taken and send it to you and you can "reduce" me and maybe that would give me the incentive I need to lose these lbs. Ya know that might be a good idea for the WW group of Lily and Karon. Might help people stick to their diet. Don't know why I am thinking this but isn't Club Soda supposed to help get stains out of carpets and things?

Karon sure wish my mil would wear her "ears" all the time. I don't know why she won't. My fil could use some too. Now we have to yell and repeat ourselves. Sometimes it is so frustrating to yell at the both of them. We come home hoarse. But they are 87 and I guess set in their ways. I hope the future dil likes the son's dd. It might take a while for them especially for the child. Would like to see a happy ending.

Slavika aren't those geese amazing the way they help each other out. People could take a lesson from them. Dr apt was for my 6 month oncology and I passed and now don't have to go for a year. Going to try getting off the hormones slowly. Have to up the calcium.

The weather has been so pretty. The trees are turning. There are a lot of acorns so I think that must mean something. They are continually falling and hitting the house. Can hear them crashing down in the park. Lots of those black walnuts too. Always hope one doesn't hit me in the head when I am walking in the park.

Got to go get the order ready for pick up for the lady I paint things for. This time it is old cooking pots painted with dogs for dog treat pans. Next it's recipe boxes.

Wow! Maria, I want you to do my photo!
I'll dig around and see if I can find one I'm willing to share! You have a pretty face with or without the "shaving."

So, Karen, will you be moving in a year? Are you going some place warmer? I empathize with you regarding the hearing aids. Like most have said, I have a b-i-l who turns them off conveniently! He just likes the quiet, I guess. Good luck with finding what's right for you.

Peggy and Slavika, I didn't know that about geese! I knew there was a leader and that they formed a V, but I didn't know they changed to help each other out. You're right Peggy, we could learn from them.

Gotta work on a grocery list for our picnic tomorrow.

Later

Marnie

Hi Everybody

I have to stay home all day today as I have the furnace men here installing my new furnace. They said they would be finished around 4:30. I heard from my painter too, and he will be here next Monday to get started on painting the inside of my home. On Monday he will remove some border wallpaper that I have up in a couple of places and talk to me about the colour I would like to have the walls painted in.
I "tried" sending my picture to Maria but I am not sure it went through, so I will wait and see if I hear from her. I am not certain that I want my picture on the "internet" but I would like to share it with you gals. I told Maria it would be nice "see" what we all look like. I have the email address for Glenda, Ann, Lily and Maria but I don't have Karen's, Marnie's or Peggy's
If you like, please send your e-mail addresses. I am hoping that Maria can down size the photo for me so that when I send it to you gals I don't use up all your space.
The other thing is I might "look better" if the picture were down sized.
Karen thank you so much for passing along the information on hearing aids. I will pass the information on to my friend. Peggy I'm so glad your doctor's appt. went well.

G'day all,

Karen that is unbelievable that your hearing aids 'know' when there is a loud noise. It never ceases to amaze me how clever people are who design these sort of things.

Peggy I am so pleased all is well again for you. I am due for my anual mammogram and appointment with my cancer specialist. I am sure everything is fine but it is always nice to be told officially again.
If only it was as easy to shave off some extra pounds as it is when manipulating photographs
I must say I have been very much on track this week and feel good, I now must keep this up over the weekend!

Marnie I hope you find a nice photo. The photo Peggy send is really nice. I am sure you will see for yourself soon.
I am trying out a new salad for my b-b-q on Sunday, if it is any good I will post the recipe.
I have to say, I maybe good at messing about on my computer but I am a very ordinary cook Every now and again I try something new, but mainly stick to the 'tried and true' recipes.

Slavika I hope you are able to get your photo reduced a little so you can email it to me. I used to feel a bit uncomfortable having my photo on the internet and I was very mindful of that with the photographs that are posted on my 'business' website.
My personal website where I have a lot of photos, the only people that see that site are those that I have given the address to and of course, it has not been listed with any search engines.
Speaking of my personal website, I have found some awesome photos of single flowers, crying out to be made as a background for a website, so I am re-doing my personal website. As soon as I have it up and running I will post the address.
If nothing else you will love the stunning backgrounds of the webpages.

It is 11.30am, I have been for a bike ride, I have cleaned the house (so it is tidy when dh gets home tonight ), watered my garden, I have 'fixed' Peggy's photo and I have been on the phone to a client.
I think I deserve to relax now and just mess about with my new website.

Have a good day all,
Cheers
Maria

Good to see you Lily Sorry you have been so busy.
Pleased you will also get your photo done.
It will be so nice to soon have a bit more than a mental picture of everyone.

I hope Glenda comes to see us soon again, she is part of the group and I have missed her posts.

Hey it did. Wasn't sure if it would work since I am computer dumb. This was taken last Saturday during the walk. Maria did a great job cropping out my short friend I was with. She is under 5' tall and I am 5'9". I looked like a giant next to her. Now if I could crop the fat off and thinking I need to go to Victoria's Secret for a new bra. LOL

Thanks Maria.

Looking good Peggy. It really is nice to see you.
I will take a picture to Slavika's to get it scanned and then try to send it to you all. I am just as leary as Slavika to put it on the internet.
My 'puter problems are not solved yet. I can't get to my pictures because the stupid thing keeps telling me "I have no disk space"... what does that mean? My son-in-law told me that he has to come over and "work" on it, but he never tells me when that will happen. I dropped another subtle hint again today I hope it works.
Yesterday my DH and I went to Toys-R-Us and played... We were looking for a little Halloween gift to give to our I was amazed at the selection of toys and that all the toys had batteries installed so we could try everything out. It has been a long time since we shopped for toys... absolutely unbelievable what is out there. We bought a turtle that is also good for the tub. You pull a string and it runs across the floor or glides in the water. Also got a Leap Frog Learning Drum. It teaches letters, numbers and plays songs has lights flashing... really cute.

See you later..

G'day all,

This is so good, you look great Peggy.
I received a photo of Slavika as well this morning. I have returned it to her with the size reduced so no doubt we will soon see that one as well.
I have to say, if people have the image of 'lil ol' ladies' sitting around being computer nerds, it is very far from 'Reality' I think I have just created a New Reality in their minds (get the connection )

It is just amazing, here I am on the other side of the world, you send me the photo's, I have a fiddle, send them back to the other side of the world again, you do your thing and voila there is your photo for the whole world to see
Technology, you gotta love it!

I had another thought and then I MUST get some breakfast....once I have everyone's photo, I could do a collage and email it to everyone and then you could all be sitting on my desk in a frame whilst I post........I do get a bit excited but I liked the idea........

See you a bit later
Cheers
Maria

Hi Everybody
I received my photo back from Maria and she not only made it smaller so that I could email it to you gals she also put it in a oval silver frame....how sweet of her was that! Thanks Maria, I appreciate that.
That's a GREAT idea about making up a collage with our pictures. I would print mine up and then have it sitting by me at the computer.
I already sent my picture off to you gals that I have an email address for. Bye for now.
