Buenos tardes,

ES, I've always wanted to speak Spanish. I have some hispanic background. Some of my ancestors were part of the Spanish and Mexican people that settled in Texas traveling between San Antonio and Los Adaes. The location of Los Adaes is actally in Louisiana, but at the time it was the first Spanish capital of Texas. Unfortunately, most of my ancestors will only recognize the American Indian bloodlines, they refuse to acknowledge the Spanish and/or Mexican heritage. My mother's grandparents could speak some Spanish, but they didn't teach their children, so that part of our heritage has been erased. So, I'm trying to learn the language, I doubt that I'll ever be fluent, with proper Spanish or slang!!

JANIE, I didn't realize you spoke Spanish also. If I ever learn to form sentences proplerly, maybe you and Es can help me practice!!

How is everyone else? It's been a long week, I'm so glad it is winding down. Talk to you girls later, right now I'm going to get some housework out of the way.

Janie,
did you happen to watch Oprah yesterday? they replay it here at 11 p.m., for those who can't see it during the day......the show featured breast cancer survivors.....all sending the same message: to get the biopsy. You are doing the right thing.

JANIE, I missed the part about you having lumps. Please know that you are in my prayers and thoughts!! You know, I understand the stress you are under, there are major things going on in my home too. I'm finding that I'm needing to let go and let God!! Please keep us posted.

DIANE, I didn't realize you spoke Spanish, too. Of course, I'm having to look up the words. Okay, I think you offered to help me if I need it, is that right. LOL and if so.... Muchas gracias.

ZOE, Living in Texas, yes you do!!! Although I can't really form sentences yet, it is really exciting when I hear a word on TV and I actually know what it means!!!

JEN, have you been to the Ozarks before? You will love them. They are beautiful in the fall when the leaves start changing colors!!

Hey Terri and Es!

Janie,
My thoughts are with you!

Chicle en la bassura. Spelling is probably wrong. I remember this because this is the first thing my spanish teacher said in the morning.

Zoe,
Thanks for the kind words. Glad Jenna didin't have it.

Es,
I think the shrimp had oil or butter in it cause it was definitely not dry. They were good.

Bruce and I are going to see Red Dragon tonight. We got tickets from Fandango. It looks so good.
Have a great Friday!
Terri

Hi girls,

Hey, I understood the message Dianne sent! LOL I took 4 years of Spanish in high school, taught by a nun who refused to speak a word of English during class. She renamed each of us, translating our names to Spanish, and called us those names from then on....I was Juanita.

A new thread will need to be started soon....don't forget this is #129.

I don't know if I'll be back here today or not. We're leaving tomorrow morning at 4 a.m. I'll most likely use my sister's computer at least once to check in and say hi during the week. We'll return home on Thursday.

Angry

A quick hello to my girls

I've been running around all morning. I just got home. Came home to eat lunch & out again.

You all are too funny I'm sitting here cracking up about the spanish lessons. You guys are too much. I could just imagine if we all lived close by & getting together. We would have a ball!!

Janie, you're in my thoughts sweetie.

Zoe, WTG with your loss. Started at 199 now 188, high five girl.

Terri, you really cracked me up with the chicle en la bassura
I'm not sure about the spelling. I can hardly read it or write it!
I want to see Red Gragon too. My kind of movie.

I'll get back to the rest of the group later.

Gotta run more errands.

Love,
Es

Buenas noches,

I have really enjoyed reading your post. It would be wonderful if we were close enough to visit. Maybe someday we can meet in a neutral location.

I am so glad this week is over. I had two test this week, I made a low B on the Business Law and a high C on the Spanish test. Dang "ser" and "estar" verbs did me in!!! I bet I have them down before the weekend is over. LOL

Our fall break is next weekend, I will be so glad, four days to CLEAN HOUSE!! Aren't I an exciting woman or what?

ZOE, I think I forgot to congratulate you on the pounds lost. Keep up the good work.

TERRI, no, mi comprendo. Or is it Mi no comprendo?
Let us know how Red Dragon is. I refused to go see Hannibal, let me know if this one is as gross.

Hope everyone is doing great, have a good weekend!!
