Default Fabulous 40's And Fit 50's #164

Happy Monday (and day off!) to everyone,

Well, Es, it's the end of our Labor Day Challenge.
My total is a loss of 1.5 since you suggested the challenge. Not very much, and not recent, but better than nothing!
Is David back from Vegas yet?

Today Joe and I are relaxing. I've got tons of laundry to catch up on. We had two beautiful days in the pool with the boys. A bbq yesterday, and now the house is quiet, as they returned home last night

I'm thinking a Halloween Challenge? That's just about 6 weeks from now. I'm looking forward now to cooler weather and the coming of autumn, it's such a beautiful time of year.

Enjoy this day,
~Jen

Happy Labor Day!

Jen, I lost 3.5. I'll take it. At least we didn't gain. Are you doing Core or Flex?
David is coming home Wed. I spoke to him & he said they're starting to get on eachothers nerves. I told him that's normal. He won $50 on the nickel machines. Count me in for the Halloween challenge.

I think I'll go out for alittle while. I have to go by David's to make sure his windows are closed. We have heavy rain coming by Wed. I'll be home most of today. Back to work tomorrow.

Enjoy today my friends.

Love,
Es

happy Labor Day y'all ~

Just spoke to my daughter in Tampa. All is okay with her, just 1 tree in her front yard down. Since she is in a brand new home, the tree is very young so any little 'wind' would do that. She said lots of rain and lots of wind, worse than the last one but not bad at all. All okay with my mom and brother in Clearwater too.

One the other hand, I have not been able to get to talk to anyone on the east coast, West Palm/Boynton Beach area where my sister, B-I-L and their 1 year only live as does my dad and step mom. Hopefully I can hear something soon. thank you all for your prayers.

Congrats on your losses for your Labor Day Challenge. I'm all for a Haloween Challenge. Anything to get me motivated.

We had lots of rain but now, just overcast. Finished planting some things in 1 of my 2 beds in the front of the house. 1 down, 1 to go....whew.....that's hard work.

Hope everyone is having a great Labor Day. We're going to BBQ later today and do alot of nothing.......

Talk to you's guys later.......all that planting has given my a headache......

Me <><

Zoe,
I am glad your daughter is safe.
Keep us posted on the rest of your family.
I hope Ivan fizzles out.

Jen,
Glad you had a couple good days for the pool.
Don't be upset about the 1.5 loss. We could be up by at least 10. Right?
Good luck with the Halloween Challenge.

I am doing the CORE this week. I really like it so far.
I know I won't like it all the time (Not as livable to me as the FLEX plan I mean in the long run) but I think I will switch back every other week. That way I will have the best of both worlds. I will really shake up the ole' metabolism. lol
I like the freedom of just being able to grab something CORE. I like not having to count each and every point but on the other hand I miss my regular snacks and on the CORE I don't want to spend my precious 35 points on them. Using the TURN AROUND PLAN I can look forward to them next week. I know I would get tired of this if I did it all the time, just a bit restrictive, but every other week will be great.

TTYL,
Terri

Hi guys:

Hope everyone's family in Florida are okay. I talked to my son Steven and he said they just had heavy rains and some wind, lights flickered on and off a few times, but nothing major, thank God.

Janie & Lana - Great jobs on your losses You too Jen and Es

I'm all for the Halloween challenge - finally got my supplies in today and plan on starting fresh tomorrow.

My babysitting job was totally nerve racking The addition of Shane (older brother of Joseph and Michael) really messed up the equation Shane is 5/7 years older than the little guys and he teases them unmercifully. Also, whenever he rough houses with them, invariably one of them gets hurt and starts crying. Unfortunately, he is also spoiled and doesn't quite listen. So, when I tell you by mid morning yesterday I had to take a 1/2 of a valium, I kid you not Willie's doctor had prescribed them to him for flying and I had to ask him for one. Anyway, I think next time it will have to be just the little ones or just Shane.

Needless to say, I was very happy to have today off to recuperate Willie and I did a little shopping and looking around for kitchen sets, etc. and then we went to Charles Park and walked around the lake. It was nice.

ZoeGirl - I hope by now you've heard from your sister and family and Dad and his wife and they are all okay

Hi Ruthie, Terri, Linda (hope you're resting and recuperating) and Sandy

Talk to you's guys tomorrow,

Hugs,
Dianne

A short work week!

Terri,
The TurnAround plan is a great idea. I've finally sat down and read about the Core plan, and it is intriguing me. No counting points is a fresh approach. I'm thinking of trying it this week to see how I like it.

Dianne,
It sounds as though you had your hands full! The 1/2 valium makes perfect sense to me.

Es,
I've been following the old plan..before FlexPoints. I never liked the Flex plan. I'm going to give the Core plan a try this week. I'm glad I joined Online, where I have access to all the plan info.

Linda,
I hope you're doing better each day.

HI to Janie, Ruth, Zoe, Sandy, Lana

~Jen

Jen,
On on-line look at the CORE FOOD List. (On left hand side. just click on one) They give all brand name items for all the foods on the CORE LIST. There are tons. If anyone wants brand name items to buy like say grains or baking items or meats etc... let me know.
Good luck. I love it so far. I am going to like going back and forth. I definitely don't eat as much junky foods this way.

Dianne,
Hope you are recuperating.

Gott run. Hi everyone.

Hi Girls,

My lunch hour is almost over. I wanted to stop in & say hello. Darth Vader called in sick. She's not really sick but had a Drs. appt. I don't have to look over my shoulder to see if she's coming.

Jen, I didn't know you were doing the old plan. Which one was that? I'm going to try the Core Plan next week. I have to be prepared, food wise. When are we starting the challenge or did we start already? Isn't it great that we have a short work week!

Terri, will I miss sweets? I know we can eat fruit but that doesn't help me when I have a craving. I guess I can do without choc., cookies, ice cream, for one week.

Amiga, I'm happy to hear Steven survived the hurricane. I feel so bad for all those people that lost everything. I would have had to take the whole valium if I had to watch 3 boys.

Zoe, glad to hear your family is OK.

Till later

Es

Es,
You have 35 points for the week but they are precious. For sweets I use the WW smoothies. They are good and sweet and depending on how much ice you use there is a lot. I like them at night when it is time to relax. I put the powder and milk and ice in the blender and they are sweet. Since I do it for only a week at a time I can wait for my usual ice cream and stuff. I just have to be careful and don't eat to much once I am back on flex. I will treat each flex week as all the others. Without thinking this is for life it is easier to wait a week for a high point snack. I handle my 35 weekly allowance points like this. I use 5 a day for needed things like croutons on salads. Can't eat one without croutons. I also like light margarine on potatoes instead of FF. So there is another point.
It is definitely more structured but I know I am losing. I can feel it.

Darth Vader.

Terri, I feel you have strong willpower in whatever you do. This is why the program has worked so well for you. I'm going to try real hard to stick with Core for 1 week. I will start on Friday. Thanks for the sweets tip.

Hi Jen, Dianne, Janie, Zoe, Ruth, Linda(miss you) & Sandy.

Luv u's,

Hi girls,
Hope all of you had a nice long weekend. I was busy with my parents visiting for a few days, but did enjoy their time here.

I am sticking with the flex plan for now and see how I continue to do with it. I feel motivated right now!!

Dianne-Thanks for the encouragement! I have 2 boys and they fight like cats and dogs. It does get better with age,but they still have their moments. Good thing you had some valium!

Thank goodness for a short week at work.

Hi Girls,

It's awfully quiet around here today.

Lana, it must be nice to spend time with both parents. Mine are both deceased. Treasure every moment.

I was reallly really bad today. I went so off program that I just have to put it behind me & move on. We had a 9/11 breakfast this morning & there was nothing healthy so I decided oh, what the heck & now I regret it. Why I do this I don't know.

I can't wait to go shopping so I can start the Core Plan.

Later Buds

Hi girls ~

Wow, tomorrow is Thursday already!! Woo Hoo! I've been feeling sort of blah lately. For the last week or so, I've had this pressure in my stomach, way up high and it's been bothering me. You know, all the talk lately about heart attacks in women, women not having the same signs as men....i.e. maybe no pain, just indigestion type discomfort....I'm thinking I should start worrying. (I do this every few years anyway. ) So I go to the DR today....I tell all, give him every reason to think he should check my heart.....I have no pain, no aches....just pressure. It's like, I can't tell if it's hunger (doesn't go away when I eat), fullness, indigestion, gas (have no gas). Just a discomfort and bloated feeling.............so he says it's my stomach and gives me Prevacid. Sheesh.......he said that if it's not better by early next week, call and I'll have to go to a specialist for a "scope" thingy. But he said he's SURE it will be better. BUT I DON'T HAVE HEARTBURN!! Oh well, that's why they are the doc's right?

Terri ~ How's the CORE going? Today was my 2nd day and I'm doing okay with it. My hard time is lunches because we go out at lunch alot. I have to do more figuring. Hope you're still loving it.

Dianne ~ How are your nerves now kiddo? Hope those kids didn't wipe you out TOO much.

Jen ~ Did you try the CORE plan yet? I'm interested to know if you have and how you're doing. I am trying to get a feel from everyone since yesterday is the 3rd time I'm trying it. Good news: I made it through 2 days this time. The first 2 times, not even a day. Good luck,

Es ~ That Darth Vader remark was too funny. Is this the same one from WAY back you've spoke of? Hey, don't beat yourself up about your little hiccup....just pick yourself up. It's time for a brand new and exciting challenge........Halloween!!

Lana ~ Glad you had a nice visit with your parents. Both my parents are alive but live 1500 miles away.

Hi to everyone else. Have a great Thursday.

Me <><
