Thanks Ruth and Sandy. That means a lot.
Your poor dad Ruth. I'll bet that broke your heart. I know it broke mine.
He was always so strong and sweet. How long did your dad act like that Ruth? My mom is so scared he will be that way from now on.
Congrats on your grade in Algebra. That is great.
I feel for your stress eating. I've been there.
Relax on your vacation. You deserve it.

Sandy,
I am so sorry about your dad. I know exactly how you feel. It is so awful. I don't like this growing old stuff. I want the security back. We are here for you. I am glad your mom is getting stronger. My mom had a heart attack 9 yrs. ago. and I am always afraid she will have another one.
I am so glad Dave's wrist is doing better. I heard that dogs will carry poison ivy and give it to you. Poor Greg.
Have fun on your vacation.

Thanks for being there everyone!
Terri

TERRI, as soon as they stopped giving daddy the pain meds, he returned to normal. He is in terrific health now. In fact I am on my way to visit him in a little bit. He has been working on the old house that his parents raised him and his younger siblings in. It is really an old shack, but he enjoys working on it. He has been building new porches on it this week. If he ever finishes it, it will make a nice little cabin in the woods!! My parents both ive a little over an hour from me, I don't visit as often as I should.

SANDI, I'm sorry to hear about your father! I agree with Terri, this is the worst part of getting older. I'm a "daddy's girl" and knowing that sickness can come at anytime is scary. Please know that your in my prayers also.

Well, time to run, hoping for a wonderful, mushy visit with my dad today!!!

See you later,

Ruth

RUTH & SANDY, welcome back!!!:D

Ruth, it's very sad when our parents get sick. It's differennt when they're older but are healthy. Both my parents died suddenly. My Mom from a stroke & my Dad from a heart attack. Hope your visit with your Dad goes well today. Spanish huh. Call me anytime.:D

Sandy, one of my co-worker's father has dementia. She told me stories that have made my eyes tear. She & her sisters won't put him in a nursing home so they all chip in to have a nurse come in. Good news about Dave's wrist. Awww, I hope Greg isn't too uncomfortable. Dave had poison ivy when he was around 8 yrs. old. I use to put calamine lotion & it helped a little. Please get some R & R on your vacation.

Still having back pain. Terri, how long does this last? I never knew this could be so painful. Such beautiful weather & I can't enjoy it. :( Not even the pain meds. are working.

Well ladies, enjoy your weekend.

I'll be back later.

Love & Hugs,
Es

Hello everyone

I'm getting ready to visit a friend who just moved into a new home. Greg just left for San Diego on business and won't be home until Wednesday. We've been looking at homes to build and now with him gone, I will have to look alone this weekend. I don't really want to but I love looking. :)

Terri ~ Please let us know your Dad's progress. My father had a 'stint' put in a year or 2 ago and you know, I was a wreck over it. He's fine today but we just get so nervous.....girls and their Daddy's......my prayers with him, you and your family.

Sorry I can't address everyone but I will later on this evening or tomorrow. Have a wonderful Saturday.

I hope yours lets up.

Enjoy your visit with your dad and thanks so much. I am so glad he got better. Daddy's little girls.

Off to watch BB3.

MORNING LADIES

I'm just checking in for a few minutes before I get started with my day. I spent Saturday with my father so now I'm headed back to my mom's to spend the day with her. I also have a few errands to run before I get on the road!!

Wednesday I'm headed to Texas. I'm so excited to have some time away. Between school, kids, and my husbands new job, I think I'm slowly reaching a breaking point. The time away will be nice!!

TERRI, I just went back over some of the post that I missed, and to answer your question about BIG BROTHER, no, I do not like Josh. I guess my favorite is Jason. He's a sweet kid, BUT, playing the game!! What do you think of them bringing in one of the ex-houseguest. That is going to shake things up abit.

Oh, and congrats on your recent aniversary. Twenty years is a long time, Maurice and I will be celebrating our 18th in November.

DIANNE, congrats on your weight loss a few weeks back. I need to go back to WW, but I hate going back with a gain. I wonder how many times that excuse has been used??

Well, I better go, I'll check in with you girls later when I get in from mom's.

BTW, did you guys hear that Lisa Marie Presley married Nicolas Cage.

Til Later,
Ruth

Hi Ruth,
Glad all went well at your dads. Have fun in Texas. That sounds like such fun. We all need to get away.
Jason sure is playing. I like his morals. Chiara is something else. If I were her mom I would have to leave the country. She talks worse than anyone I have ever heard. If Amy comes back the whole house will be thrown into a tizzy for sure. My order of choice is Amy, Lori, Eric and last Tanya. Amy only because Chiara can't stand her. I want her life in the house to be miserable. I am so nice.
Yes, I heard about Nicholas Cage this morning. Did you hear about Jason Priestly? He was in a bad accident with his race car. He was in critical condition.
Have a great time today.
Terri

EsRios426 08-12-2002 05:30 PM

Hello My Friends:wave:

Terri, I heard about Jason Priestly this morning on the news. How could anyone survive at a speed of 180 miles has to have a guardian angel watching over them. I hope he'll be alright. :(
Noooo I didn't hear about Nicholas Cage!!! That's BIG news!!! I guess we'll read about it in the paper tomorrow. Juicy gossip:lol:

Ruth, every time I didn't go back to WW because of a gain messed me up. One week led to another, then another, then the excuse was I didn't want to pay for the weeks I missed:rolleyes: on & on & on. I would go back if I was you. Be strong:strong:
So how was Dad? I'm glad you're going away. We all need that every now & then.

Today was a good day at work. Some days I really aprreciate my job then there are those days where I wish I could retire. I'm not going to be able to retire till I'm at least 60. Pitiful huh? Then again, you never know. I could be singing"if I had a million dollars" Everytime the commercial comes on I sing it, accent & all.

I was OP today. When I'm real busy I don't think about food. It's the evenings at home that I have a hard time with. I need to find a hobby. Something that'll keep my hands occupied. (Kidding)

I'll be back tomorrow. Have a good evening everybody.

Love,
Es

Hi everyone!
It was so good to see posts from Ruth and Sandy :D glad you're both doing okay. Ruth, enjoy your vacation, you truly deserve it.
Sandy, sorry to hear about your father. At least your Mom is doing better, to look on the bright side. Keep in touch, ok?

I'm totally wiped after the weekend. On Friday my brother and his wife spent the day, and evening. Saturday we had a full house again, and spent the evening watching the Bears lose :(
Jess and her family spent the night, and all day Sunday. Brandon stayed over and will be here all this week. I wanted to get another visit in with him before we both start school in two weeks. Yesterday my cousin had a pool party; she's about an hour away, so it took the whole day to get there, visit, and drive home. Today we're vegging!

You'd think I'd be skinny as a rail with all the cooking, cleaning, and swimming  oh well.

I've been trying to catch up on everyone's posts. Nicholas Cage! I love him, what a match. Es, you're right about Jason Priestly having a guardian angel watching out over him, that's for sure.

love to all,
~Jen

Good morning my girls

How is everyone doing?

Es - Sorry to hear you're still having trouble with your back - are you working still or off? Please take care.

Terri, Ruth and Sandy - sorry to hear about your dad's illnesses and hope things get better for all the daddies. I didn't grow up with a father, but I see how much Alana is a daddy's girl. She'd be a wreck if anything happened to Willie.

Jen - sounds like you had a busy weekend. Enjoy Brandon this week - you'll certainly get some use out of your pool if the weather's anything like here in NY.

Well, we had our "Willie's Birthday Family Camping Trip" this weekend and it was great. The campground happened to be having a "salsa weekend" event, so Willie especially was in his glory, He danced his butt off, I was afraid he was gonna have a heart attack! It was fun being with the grandkids, especially Strawberry Irish Puffy Jade (Jessa):smug: She is very attached to me, in fact Alana gets mad cause if I'm holding her, she won't go to Alana, :D She is such a cutie, still very serious though, it takes a lot of work to make her laugh, which makes us laugh trying to do it

Speaking of Alana, she has a "friend" named Paul. She knows him for a while now, but always thought of him as just a friend, however lately she's looking at him a little differently. He's really sweet, treats her great. He came up to the birthday party for willie and got along great with everyone. She's going back to school at the end of this month, of course, so I'm not sure where that will leave this relationship, but I'm happy to see her with someone like this after that "jerk" she fell for up at school, who treated her so badly. So, we'll see what happens.

I went to weight watchers on Friday morning before we left for the trip and I lost 2 lbs. I'm almost afraid to say this but I'm about 2 lbs from goal weight. My personal goal weight is about 12 lbs. away. But it has taken so long - so many ups and downs just to lose like 10-12 lbs. that I don't know how long it will take just to get to goal. But, of course, it could be worse, I could be just gaining, gaining, gaining, right? So, I'll take every ounce.

Hi Zoe Girl and Janie!!!!

Well, I gotta to feed my face (and count my points). Hope you all have a great day. Talk to you's tomorrow.

Hugs,
Dianne

Hi girls,

Well, I've spent today washing, ironing and cleaning (and packing) before I leave in the morning. I'll probably go to bed late tonight since Maurice won't be home until after nine. I've never driven 9 hours before, so I guess this will be an adventure, maybe I better make myself go to bed early.

I'm a little nervous about leaving or maybe I feel guilty for leaving!! LOL Maurice and I have spent very few evenings apart since we've been married and neither one of us really like being apart. But on the other hand, sometimes it's nice to get away by yourself, and I need a break from my girls.

The oldest just had child protection called on her, and the other is in an abusive relationship (which I'm not suppose to know about). They aren't trying to take Chasity's boys away, but they told her the report would stay on the records until the baby is eighteen. At least while I'm gone she will be at my house and I won't be worried about her. The younger was just beat up by her boyfriend. I only know because Chasity told me. My brother in law and nephew or on the local police force, so I checked with them before I left. Kinda arranged for the police to check in on her some the next few days. Of course, I'm leaving phone numbers with everybody in case I'm needed.

Gosh, sorry to go into all that. I just needed to get it off my chest.

Well I better go, I'll check in with everyone Sunday.

Oh Ruth. I am so sorry. I must have missed afew things earlier cause I am confused but I hope everything gets better for everyone. I am not sure who everyone is.

Jen,
Have fun with Brandon this week. Sorry about Da Bears.
My Steelers lost too. :(

Congrats on the 2 pounds skinny Dianne. That is great!

I just found out my FIL is now in the hospital with his heart. I feel like pulling my hair out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TTYL,
Terri

Jenny523 08-14-2002 10:42 AM

Ruth,
You really need to get away and take care of yourself; have a good trip. I'm sorry about the problems with your daughters...being away from it all for a bit will be good for you, I hope.

Terri,
What is your FIL's condition? I'm so sorry, hope it's not serious. How's Bruce doing?

Dianne,
Glad you had a great camping trip. How wonderful that you're so close to goal....just hang in there. When you're so close, it's not easy to drop those last few pounds, right? Of course, I wouldn't actually be saying that from experience :o You are right.....at least you're not gaining!

Es,
How's your back? I threw mine out about 3 years ago, it was sooo painful. Ever since then I've had to be very careful about how I move, the smallest wrong movement can set it flaring again. On the plus side, it lets me know when I need to exercise...it hurts if I don't! I hope you're feeling better.

HI  to Zoe, Sandy, Janie.

~Jen

Thanks Jen,
He had a heart attack in 1989. He got very dizzy and passed out and got sick and his heart was going about 150 b/m. It is called atrical fibrillation or something like that. If it doesn't come down with meds he will have to be defibrillated on Thurs. Thanks for asking. With his dad and my dad and the stress of school starting and football and soccer I feel like I am going around in circles saying come on throw it my way. :dizzy:
:knocking on wood:
Bruce is ok now that the Drs. are hopeful that the meds. will take care of it.
Thanks for caring!
Terri
