The Points Lady from work hasn't been going to WW cause her husband got laid off & she said she can't afford it but she did mention today that she misses the meetings. That they motivated her. I really should go back.

Dianne, Dave is fine. He still has to get the other 2 pulled. He said it wasn't all that bad. My back is still hurting!! It's so annoying.:mad: I have an appt. for Part 2 of my physical tomorrow morning at 7:AM. I don't even know if I should mention it to my Dr. She's going to think I'm such a clutz. I know I pulled a muscle & there's really nothing you can do for that. I feel so bad. With Dave's appts. & me feeling under the weather I haven't had a chance to call my SIL to find out how Karinna is doing. I'll pay them a visit this weekend. I'm such a bad Titi. Are you leaving on Friday? Sounds like fun. Where upstate?

Well, I went to my drs. appt. this morning. She knows my brother so she suggested that I should work out with him. I guess since I'm always pulling something she thinks I'm working out wrong. I told her he's too busy. Maybe when he opens up his own gym I'll be able to spend time with him. I was telling her that I pulled a muscle that's why she brought him up. He trains a couple of the girls there. My cholesterol is still a little high but the good one is high. I had stopped taking Lipitor but she wants me to take it again. Other than that everything is fine. I have to go back in 3 mths. to see if it dropped.

One of the attorney's I work with sold me 5 WW coupons for $15!! Dirt cheap!! The meetings go for $12 w week. Now I have 13 coupons. I feel like I should go back real soon.

My dad did go up to Ohio State Medical Center on Thurs. and they were going to put the defibrillator in and then they found he had an infection. So they will did it yesterday. I came back home Mon. We were told Mon. that his heart is only working about 10%. They said he could live up to 2 more yrs. I was there Fri-Mon. It took me 12 hours to get to Columbus Thurs. My flight was cancelled in Memphis and I ended up going to Detroit first. It was a nightmare.
Dr. Attar was there on Fri. The other Cardiologists were talking about giving him a heart cath and Dr. Attar said there is no use doing it because of all the damage. It made sense. That is such a hard test on a frail man and they can't do much anyway. I cried when I left him . He actually knew us better Mon. and he didn't get mean. They said the drugs were doing that to him. Trying to get out of bed and being told no and he kept it up and yelled at us. That was not at all him. He was almost completely normal Mon. Damn pain pills. They put him on a non narcotic pain pill but it really doesn't do to much good.

It is so sad to hear about your Dad. Watching a parent go through a serious illness is very difficult. Be strong. What a hassle your trip was! Like you needed the added stress.
I can't believe your kids are starting school this week. It's so early. All the schools here don't go back until the last week of August, so there are 3 more weeks of summer for these kids. The first Bears preseason game is this Saturday :D we're having Joe's sis and hubby over, along with Jess and her family. I'm trying to convince Joe to set up a tv so we can view it from the pool. He thinks I'm nuts.

Sorry your back is still hurting :( Why did you stop taking lipitor? Were there adverse side effects? That is so cool to have all those weeks of WW already paid for! We bought a scanner a month ago, but have yet to hook it up. Have to buy another filing cabinet, do some re-arranging, and have Joey here to help with the tech. stuff :o

1 pound gone... :D good job. Enjoy that hot weather! This week has been in the 70's and sunny, absolutely beautiful. I can't wait for another heat wave, tho. It's so important to soak up all those days and remember them when it's 10 below in January.

I am back op 100% today. I gained about 3 since I got back from Col. I lost 2 there so I am up 1 since beginning of summer. Ohio wsn't good for the diet. Too much waiting and eating. I am back and doing bowflex today.

You will loose that lb right away if I know you. I am sorry your trip to OHio was so stressful. School really starts early where you are. Ellen isn;t starting until 9/18. It is later than usual this year because they are going into a new building and it won't be finished by Labor Day.

I think having a TV by the pool would be awesome, but then again, having a pool would be awesome. WHen we fininsh our yard we will probably put in a spa/hottub. This is California after all ;)

I am so excited. I will get to watch my Yankees this weekend. They will be playing the Oakland A's in NY and so the games will be televised here. I only get to see them a few times a season. Until playoffs that is.

I had to go back to the Dr. I was in alot of pain yesterday & still am. The pain in my back are muscle spasms. She gave me some pain medication & a muscle relaxer. I've never had anything like this. She explained the difference between a pulled muscle & a muscle spasm. I'm on vicodin & skelaxin. Hasn't helped much but I can imagine if I wasn't taking it!!:eek: Right now I have an ice pack against my back while I'm sitting & it feels so good. Well, there goes WW. I was going to rejoin today. I'm getting there this weekend, one way or the other.

Terri, a jacuzzi must be awesome!!! I would be in it all the time. Glad to hear the kids 1st day went well. Tell Brie hi:wave: Dad will be in my prayers.

Janie, I feel so bad for Pete that he can't watch the Yankees. When my nephew took him a few weeks ago, to see them, he loved it!! He still talks about it.

Jen, I don't get any side affects from the Lipitor. My goal was to exercise more, lose a few pounds so I could make my cholesterol come down without taking medication. Never happened:mad:

Hey girls, sorry I haven't been around, the last few weeks of school were "****". I managed a B in my Algebra, but the final test had me in tears. I swear the man probably through out the final score and just gave us what we had going into the test. He had to, I had an 80% going into the final, and I know I didn't manage high enough to maintain it. Needless to say I've been compulsively eating from stress!! Some of the clothes I bought on vacation no longer fit!! So this afternoon I got on the treadmill for about 15 minutes and I've actually gotten down on the floor to do crunches.

TERRI, how is your father? I understand how your feeling. My father had a heart attach a few years ago. He was horrible on the meds. I think they were giving him morphine. He thought the doctors were trying to kill him, he wanted me to call the FBI. He'd also cry every visitation because we couldn't stay with him, then he'd get mean and ugly. That is definitely not like my dad, he is so easygoing, nothing gets him upset. PLEASE know that your family is in my prayers.


JANIE, thanks for asking about me the last few weeks. This was my first full week with no school, and believe me, I just sat around doing nothing (other than housework) the last few days.

Yes, I'm taking a small vacation. A friend and I are going to Fredricksburg, Texas next week. I have an elderly uncle (93 years old) that I plan on visiting. Fredricksburg is a little German town with lots of antique shops, so we plan on "window shopping".

ES, I'm taking Spanish this fall, can I call you if I need HELP!!! Glad Dave is feeling better. I had all my wisdom teeth out at the same time. I would never advise anyone to do that. I was in pain for days.

Sorry to have been gone so long, and I am so glad to see you all still here supporting each other through thick and thin.
Terri, I was so sorry to see your dad is having a bad time, he will be in my prayers too.
I haven't been following WW lately, I have had lots going on with being in the sandwich generation.

My older son Dave is recovering really well from his broken wrist. He is driving, working, and playing his guitar again. Greg, the younger son, had a tough bout with poison ivy after petting his uncle's dog at a cookout.

My mom is progressing still after her surgery and is walking with a cane, and sometimes even without one. She stayed with us for the past couple of weeks and we could see a huge difference since last year.
The toughest thing at this point is some bad news about my dad. His Parkinson's disease is very advanced, and the doctor called us to say that we are at a decision point. He is having a very bad time swallowing and to keep him sufficiently nourished, he would need to have a feeding tube. He is also reaching the point with dementia that he doesn't always recognize us. Given all the information from the doctors, and his quality of life, and the fact that he always said "no extraordinary measures" we are all still struggling with the fact that he will not be with us much longer.

Lots on my mind and thank goodness Mike and I have a short vacation this week to relax. We will be off to the mountains in NH at a cottage by a lake. Greg will have a week of camp, and Dave will hold the fort at home with one of his good (trustworthy) friends. So this is a real respite for me. I need it!

I hope you will all be well and healthy, and striving on WW.
