Well Yesterday turned out okay -
I still had 11 Points left over for dinner that evening - was ready to chew my arms off on my ride home in traffic - and went to the grocery store which is normally not a good idea - Thank Goodness this store doesnt have the fresh made cookies in the bakery section like others do - I ended up getting one of those BIG Pickles at the deli section and chowing half way through it - 0 points .... YEA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And it satisfied and tamed those horrible I'll eat anything right now diet or no diet hunger pains :) . . . . Went home - hubby was out for the evening so I ended up not making dinner and just having an ear of corn (3pts) with all the toppings Mayo, Butter, Parmesan Cheese, chili Powder YUM !!!!! (3pts) so total for dinner was 6 points - I had a diet dr. pepper with berries (0 pts) And best part of all is I made a batch of soup I got the recipe that Angel Eyes Posted --------------- 1 Pt per cup - I am brought some to eat at lunch --------- I havent eatten it yet - but I did have a taste test last Night and OHHHHHHHHHHH my goodness it is SO Yummy ! ! ! ! ! Today so far Not doing too good - I had a bagel with light cream cheese Probably Like 18 pts just for that - I am gonna take it out of my Bonus Points .... I started up again on Wednesday - I am doing 24 pts per day to start out 35 bonus to use or not use - So I am still feeling good inspite of my bagel break down. For Lunch I am having chicken made in fat free cream of mushroom with garlic (5pts) And my 1 (pt) Soup ! ! ! ! ! |
Angie, sounds like you are doing great today. I think planning is really a huge part of being successful. Don't stress over the bagle. Did you see my breakfast? TWO sausage links. What was I thinking? Your bagel was most likely only 6 points. You may not even need to dip into those extra 35. Your lunch plans are great. At least you have those. I don't have any and I am hungry now 20 minutes after my snack. :( I wish I had some of those one point Hebrew National hot dogs. They are sooooo filling on a 1pt bun ( I eat two at a time). Oh well. Perhaps I will eat some lentil soup or something.

Yummy yum yum. I just had a verry filling lunch. I made a large salad and put 1pt worth of dressing on it. I also had 5 ak mak crackers and 1/4 C hummus. It was so tasty!! The total was 6 points. Not a real low point lunch. However, my goal was to get full and I did. I have 11 points left. I need to not snack this afternoon. I am off to put away about 4 loads of laundry. Then, I have to get my daughter ready for dance pictures. This should keep me busy until dinner time. When I get home DH should have the ribs coming off the grill. Should work out great. I am so full!! Did I mention that?
OH, Angie, that hummus is a mixture made mostly of garbanzo beans (or chickpeas). They are pureed and have oil, garlic, lemon juice, and other things. You have to like garbanzo beans. I must say that it is growing on me. I used to not like it much. I am a much bigger fan of the flavored. The one I bought is roasted red pepper. You can dip veggies in it or pita or in my case, crackers. Morrigan, is it any fewer points when you make it yourself?? If so, I may try that. My book says 1/4 cup is 3pts. I know it is due to the oil most likely. Great way to get the oil in. :) |
Thanks for the support - You caused me to go and check out the points at Calorie king - turns out the bagel was only 6 points But then I went and had another half so that turns out to 9 points - i used Cant believe its not butter on the half ... but the cream cheese from the first was 3 points -
So it is still better then I thought at 9 + 3 = 12 :) I am eatting my 1 pts soup right now - and hoping it holds me over till dinner if so then I will eat my chicken for dinner - and I'll be at 18 Plus my coffee ( I gotta work on this sooo many points) 5 points If I can keep in these guidelines - I'll be at 23 Points !!!!!!! I AM SO EXCITED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Went to Applebees today for the first time since starting WW. I had the Confetti Chicken and 1/2 of the WW Chocolate, Rasberry Cake. It was pretty good! 7 points for the chicken dish and 4 for the cake, but I only ate 1/2 of the cake, so 9 points total for the meal. Yay!

Breakfast: Oatbran Cereal with blueberries, creamer (6)
Lunch: Crackers (2), shrimp salad (6), artichoke (0) 14 points so far and a potluck to go to I did a lot better at the potluck than when I got home. hamburger (5), watermelon (3), lots of veggies (0) at home: cereal and milk (3), Anna's cereal and milk (4), crackers (2) 31 pt day |
I guess you could calculate the point in homemade hummus by what you put in. 1/2 cup of garbonzo beans is 2 points. Lemon juice and garlic are 0. If you just added a little bit of tahini or substituted sesame oil for the tahini (which is sesame butter), then you could easily have 1/2 cup serving of hummus for 3 points. And if you don't want to make it from garbanzo's, you can use roasted peppers, roasted eggplant, artichoke, etc... Stick one or many of the above in a food processor with some lemon, garlic, and sesame oil (or if that is too strong - olive oil) and you are all set. Roasted garlic is good too and not as strong if you are not a huge garlic fan.

I am so exhausted today, and I hardly worked this week.
Here's my day in a nut shell: B: Slim fast 3pts S: Special K bar 2pts L: We had lunch catered in at work, it was Red Lobster, but I did well. Had a huge plate of lettuce 0pts, chicken 3pts, 1/2. baked potato 1.5pts, barbeque sauce 3pts and a roll 4pts and a granola bar afterwards 3pts D: turkey sandwich 3pts, baked chips 2pts S: ww bar 2pts 26/26 |
Breakfast: After biting the ear of a teddy bear pancake - I got out a bowl of spinach leaves and some tofu (4). DD (Anna, almost 2) burnt her finger on the griddle, making me feel like a guilty parent. On the other hand, I am a real advocate of the Sacagawea parenting approach. If they get burnt once, they won't touch it again. She just touched the tip of her finger to the griddle while my back was turned, so it wasn't more than a tiny red spot, but they were big tears. The kids (Wil is 3.75) like cooking, they have to tell me what ingredients to get out for the pancakes - and they get to do all the stirring, pouring, flipping, egg cracking, huckleberry placement, etc... It is pretty funny sorting through what we should actually put in the pan. Anna wanted to put popcorn in them.
Creamer (2), so 6 points for the day so far. I cooked up a big pan of something I like and am planning on eating it for the rest of the day. Tofu (7), oil (2), feta (2), veggies (1) cottage cheese (2) 20 point day if I don't have anything else. The scale has been bouncing back and forth from a loss to holding steady. I would like to get it settled on the former before weigh in on Monday. Crackers (1) Bagel (2) Cottage Cheese (2) 25 points wine (2), anna's leftover pasta and meat sauce (4) 32 points |
B: Woke up late, was having an early lunch.
L: Salad/chicken/bacon/bbq sauce - 7pts S: Slim fast/banana/oil - 6pts D: Ball Park hot dog at baseball game - 8pts/100 cal pack chips - 2pts Drive home: Teddy Grahams - 6 (Oh well!) 29/26 I think I did pretty good considering I was at a baseball park for 6 hours. |
Add some late snacking and yesterday was more like 35 points.
Today: Breakfast: oat bran cereal with blueberries (4) Snack: Salad with pasta salad on top (5) Snack: fat free veggie dogs (3) Bites: of cookie and of watermelon (1) 13 points so far today - but I feel like I could eat a horse. Hopefully this will get better. I have to food prep most of the afternoon for DH's bday. And mom made a most delicious layered cake with mangos and blueberries. Well, at first I didn't have a peice of cake, then I ate Wil's leftovers. Cake (8), roll (2), chicken (4), cookie (1) 28 point day Didn't get much better, and I am totally guessing on the cake. A few fingers in the buttercream frosting could be anywhere from 8 to 20 points, who knows? more frosting (5), part of wil's cereal (2), part of Anna's pbj (3), crackers (1) 39 point day |
Our weekend posts crack me up. We either don't post (me) or don't post much. We are either busy, or not eating well. :) Let's hope it is that we are all busy. I have had a great weekend. Done ok on food but not great. I know I have gotten into my flex points.
Friday night Went to El Paso Barbecue Company. Passed on the yummy before dinner corn muffins. Had most of the portion of pulled pork (no sauce), steamed veggies and a plain (yes, plain) baked potato. I only ate about 1/2 of the potato. :) Saturday wheat english muffin 2pts 1 poached egg 2pts one taco from a delish Mexican food place hubby took me to. I had about 1/3 cup of spanish rice and 3 bites of Quesadilla. veggie pita with fruit and a few peanuts 9pts??? 2 light beers 4pts frozen yogurt 3pts Sunday 3 small pancakes 4pts 2 bacon 1pt turkey sandwich 4pts watermelon 2pts 100 cal pack 2pts baked chips 2pts Wow!! does not look too bad to me when written down. I had not used any flex points up until Friday, so I should be ok. My scale this morning was at its lowest since I started weight watchers. It read 184.7. If this is correct, when I compare to my previous 1st am weights then I should have lost my 2.8 that I gained last week plus some. I sure hope this is true. I still have Monday and all day Tuesday to be good too. I weigh in on Tuesday night. Cross your fingers for me. Will finish off with dinner later tonight. Hope you are all having a good weekend. --Amy |
LOL, I know time is an issue on the weekend...hopefully this week I did as good as I think I did, WI is on Wed. I really feel I've stuck to the program this week, only dipping into 8 flex so far.
Today B: None, slept in :) L: PB&J/baked chips - 6pts S: Darn Teddy Grahams 4pts D: Hamburger/beans/baked chips/pickles - 8pts (Had in-laws over for bbq) Dessert: WW frozen dessert -3pts Enough left for Popcorn later :) All my water, only 2 of my veggies (darn it anyways!), all my oil, no milk ok, so I didn't get all my boxes checked...but I did ok !!! :) lol FYI: At our last meeting a lady brought in some Little Debbie snacks, they're like 2 pts, they have 3 varieties, a mock swiss cake roll, a mock nutty bar, and a mock oatmeal pie........Yuck! I didn't like any of 'em, I took one bit off each and gave them to my kid...just wanted to try. There went $7.00 out the window! haha |
Today I went to the movies for the first time since I started WW. I don't know what I payed more attention to -- the movie or what everyone else was eating! I was so good (Only had a bottle of water) but I *really* wanted that popcorn!
|
Yeah - I notice that I am the only one putting a total at the bottom of my weekend posts.
I checked it out to see how bad it actually was and here are my stats. These are my average points by day of the week since starting WW. Keeping in mind. I am alloted 24 points per day, and if I were to spread my extra points out evenly over the course of a week, I would get and averave of 29 points per day. M=24 T=30 W=31 Th=29 F=32 Sa=31 Su=39 |
