Lunch: PB&J, Baked Tostitos, 2Tbsp cheese dip (7pts)
Snack: ww bar (2pts)
Dinner: 1 manwich made with 94/6 less fat meat, baked fries, 1cup beans (7pts)

Hello AJsMommy and welcome!!! This thread has helped me out a ton! Check in daily. You also get some ideas on what you can have for how many points. Best of luck to you!!!!

I'm still sick! <sigh> Went to the doctor and was told it's just a bad virus and it's going to have to run it's course. I'm glad that's all it is, but I wish they could do something for me. My throat is so raw drinking even water hurts.

I haven't done well with my points today. Tomorrow is my weigh-in and I don't know how being sick and my lack of exercise for the past few days will affect it. It's my TOM, too. Ugh!

Here's what I've eaten today.

Banana - 2pts

Vegetable beef Soup at Hand - 1pt
Weight Watcher's Fudgesicle - 1pt

Had some black tea and some water, too, but not near enough water. Haven't had any of my milks or oils, either. I have a terrible feeling about tomorrow's weigh-in.

Welcome AJs mommy - I love posting here, because I am always losing track of my journal, but I am on the computer every day. I write down what I eat here, and put the numbers in a spreadsheet at home.

Sorry you are under the weather snowgal :(

Did you hear! I lost 2.6 this week and my cousin, Erica, that is going to WW with me lost 2.8. We both had a great week.

snowgal 05-08-2006 11:44 PM

buffalosister1 05-09-2006 04:54 PM

Busy - weird day. I did take a nice walk down to the lake and back with the kids (about a mile), but I don't count it as exercise because we go so slow. I think I am going to put the kids in day care at the gym tonight and try for a real workout.

Breakfast: Oat Bran cereal with blueberries (4), Latte (2)
Snack: Cheeze its (1)
Lunch; Salad (0) with croutons (1) and chicken (4)
Snack: Artichoke (1)
15 points so far today
Snack: kashi with milk (4), chicken (2)
21 points ~ 4:30pm

Good job on your 10% Amy!

I am loving swimming lessons. Wil had a 1/2 hour lesson and I had 1/2 hour to do laps. All the other mom's sat on the side of the pool. He had fun and I got a work out.

Not so much loving being starving after swimming.

more chicken (4), crusts of pbj sandwich (3)

28 point day - still with in my goal range of never exceeding the 20's in a day.

that is until I get ready to put the kids to bed and proceed to eat 1/2 a pbj that Wil had not touched (5), a bowl of cereal he had not eaten (4), and my own bowl of cereal (3).

So 40 points - I just cannot believe sometimes how quickly I can go from the 20's to BOOM 40 points. Part of it was just being hungry. Part of it was I have been a bit stressed about DH's job. Their CEO (a guy my DH had a lot of respect for and liked working for) resigned on 5 days notice this week and everyone in the office had a big meeting with a representative from the owners. After work was a party for another good friend leaving the company, and then an after party - party at another guys house. This resulted in me getting the kids (who are now crying because daddy is not home) to bed by myself, and generally being grumpy.

Speaking of grumpy. The news in our idyllic small town had a stranger rape on the main bike path to town during broad daylight on a weekend as a front page cover story. I have been dwelling on it all day. I even wrote the following to the Editor of our local paper.

As you can tell, I found the article in the paper quite disturbing. And I thought, that perhaps the Daily Bee could serve as the rallying cry. Since reporters tend to be privy to police investigations and assuming they don't have the perpetrator in jail by tonight, then it might be time for a big fat headline.

RAPIST STILL ON THE LOOSE

Accompanied by another timeline and description it may even help the police find their man. We are a small community and someone must have noticed a neighbor riding down the road dressed to fit the description. I ride that path a few times per week to work at the high school and usually only pass 1 or 2 other bikers in route. There are not that many out there, so one shouldn't be too hard to find.

Maybe it will even sell a few extra papers.

I apologize if the first paragraph was too disturbing - it was the raw emotions and anger coming out. Considering my reaction, I cannot imagine what reading the paper this morning felt like for someone who has actually been raped. I hope that with the help of people in the community, the predator is arrested soon.

Thanks,

Still quite bothersome and stressful. I have often been in denial about my predisposition to eat when stressed, but it sure reared it's ugly head today.

Congratulations buffalo!!! I'm so happy for you!

I'm still really sick. It's getting old now. I didn't go to my weigh-in today. Can you believe it?!?! I'm so anal about all of this that I actually feel guilty missing the meeting, but I'm in no condition to go. I probably would have made my 10% this time, too. Wouldn't have been too hard as I only had 2oz to lose to meet that goal.

I weighed myself at home this morning and it showed I had gained a pound. I don't know how that could be. Maybe it's from all of the cold medicine (Who knows what's in that stuff and how it affects your body?). Could be because Aunt Flo is here for her monthly visit. Could be because I haven't worked out since last Thursday because I've been so darned sick. Yesterday I only ate 12pts worth of food. <sigh> Whatever. I'm too sick to care.

Morrigan - you're doing great so far today!

AJsMommy 05-09-2006 06:16 PM

Here's my day today...Feel free to offer advice/encouragement, or just to yell at me!! haha.

B: Strawberry slim fast/banana/oil - 6pts
S: yogurt - 1pt
L: 7" ultra lite pita, baked chips - 7pts
S: ww bar - 2pts
D: chicken, green beans w/94% FF cream of chick soup - 6pts
For later: grapes and popcorn probably.

So I got 4 of 5 fruits and veggies, both oils, both milks and all my water plus some...Not too shabby today.

Weigh in is tomorrow...... *fingers crossed*

I have completely forgotton about getting in water this week. I tend to eat a fairly wide variety of food, but I don't get all my food groups in every day like I should. I try to compensate by cooking with olive oil, taking a multivitamin, and taking calcium. It seems really weird to be worried about getting in enough fat considering the high fat foods I used to eat. But with WW being a low calorie diet, it is hard sometimes to find a place to fit it in. I mean who has room for a tsp of olive oil when you could get an entire apple in for the same amount of points.

As far as my food, I have really tried to maximize how filling food is for the points it costs. I think that even if you are doing the points plan, everyone should take a good look at the foods on the core food list. If you are eating the foods on that list, you will feel fuller while staying within your points. I could never get a way with a 20 point day if I had say, a chocolate bar that cost me 6-8 points. That is enough points for a large meal. If I ate the bar, then I would still be hungry for dinner, and end up going over in my points.

Ok, I am home from a busy day! It is quarter after nine, and I am just sitting down. Skipped breakfast today on accident. Daughter had her girl scout bridging ceremony tonight, and the calls started at 8am regarding that. So as it was I was late getting my son to preschool even after I skipped breakfast.

Went and did my weigh in as I stated earlier. Picked up daughter from school. Went and picked up son from preschool. Then, we hit the Chick-fil-a drive thru. I got a nine point salad with chicken strips and fat free dressing. I love it. I think it is more points though. Some day I may really try to figure it. Came home and got ready for the ceremony. This included cleaning my house because all of the girls met here with parents. I had three of those yummy cinnamon twists at about 3pm. There was three more points. Dinner was a picnic at the park where the ceremony took place. I had a 3 point sandwhich. That was it. After I put the kids to bed I went to Golden Spoon and had a 4 point yogurt. Then, to get my salty fix I just ate a 2 point serving of baked kettle chips (my new best friend). I can't eat the FF pringles anymore because the Olestra in them kills me. Same with the light Doritos and light Tostitos. So my total for the day was 21. I am going to have another twist now too. Man, talk about bad utilization of points. Can you say junk? That is what happens when planning is not a priority.

Any who........AJsMommy,,, you sound like you eat great balanced meals through out your day. Kudos for that. I am not so good at that.

Morrigan glad you got a swim in. Hope you made it to the gym too. Will check in tomorrow. --Amy

Def. using my flex!

(still learning how to do the weight tracker thingie, lol...so if this is wrong, I apologize!)
