Today's ending up pretty good. I'm not feeling as bummed about the gain and I've stayed on points.

Breakfast: bran flakes - 2pt, raisins - 1pt, 2% milk - 1 pt (1/2 cup)

lunch: Subway turkey sub - 5pt, baked lays chips 3pts

snack: 1/2 mini-bag 94% ff popcorn - 1pt for whole bag, so really only .5 but we'll count it as 1.

dinner: 4 oz chicken breast, grilled - 4pts, steamed broccoli - 0 pts, green beans - 0pts, potatoes cooked in oven with olive oil & cajin seasonings- 3 pts

snack (planning) - 1/2 bag 94% ff popcorn - 1pt

That puts me at 22 of 24 points for the day.

Morrigan thanks for the input on weighing...i've always done it before cooking and it looks so small and it's not at all filling. much better after....

Liz...congrats on the loss....does this mean you get the gift card or will next week

~Liz

I am a bit above you, being in the 24 point range. I figure that 35 extra points per week is an average of 5 per day for any of us. So I don't sweat it if my 24 points creeps up to 29 (or in your case 20 creeping up to 25) - OK, it still sounds aweful no matter how I try to fluff it up.

I am trying to say that by having a few extra points each day, you are still on the diet and will still lose weight. 20 points is only 1000 calories + your free veggies, however you consider it, it is a very lo-cal diet. I guess the strategy is to find more 0 point veggies that you really like. For me artichokes have really been helping this week. Also things like 1.5 cups of fresh strawberries = 1 pt, help out.

How about this? - I will start a new thread for everyone's most filling 0-2 point snacks.

Chrissy, what gift card? I only know about the keychain.

Morrigan - I plan on not beating myself up if I go one or two points over. Any more than that, though, and I'll get a little annoyed! LOL! I'm finding it hard to fit my milks and oils in today and still manage on 20pts. I'm sure, given time, I'll find a way.

Any snack ideas would be a great help! Thx!

I usually get my milk in with a 2 point 12oz nonfat latte. I usually use a bit of olive oil making dinner. I looked over the book and couldn't find where it said you had to have oil every day. I just found the "use sparingly" part.

Hey, at least we don't have to eat liver once a week. Imagine fitting that in.

Alright - I got through my first 20pt day.

When I last posted I had 12pts left. Here's what I did:

Weight Watcher's choc. cake - 1pt

6" Subway club sandwich on wheat, lettuce, tomato, mustard-no cheese- 6pts
Campbells Soup At Hand vegetable beef soup - 1pt
small apple - 1pt
1/2 cup Light & Fit yogurt - 1pt
2 salmon oil tabs - 2 pts

Total: 20 pts! Done! Phew!

Hello everyone. I am guessing that this will not be read until Wed. am. I am just winding down from the day. Had a pretty good day. Stuck around the house except for the to and from school and preschool trips. Made my son's 4th birthday party invitations. That took up a good chunk of the day. I don't think I had eaten this morning when I posted last. So, I will put the whole day here.

Breakfast

black coffee 0
1/2 C LF Cottage cheese 2
1/2 sml can pineapple chunks 1

Lunch

2 hotdogs on buns 4
soy crisps 1
rice cakes (caramel) 1

snack

smart one cookie dough sundae (TOM style snack) 3

Dinner

veggie burger on light bun 3
baked fries 3
so hot mix
cottage cheese 2

dessert

skinny cow 2

Total 22 out of 24.

It is days like this that have allowed me to have a weigh in like I did today. I lost 4.4 pounds over the past week.

Chrissy, I will be the one getting the gift card. Yippee!!! Momma needs some new shorts. That's for sure! I am 1.2 or 1.8 pounds away from my 10%I hope to get it next week. Let's hope TOM doesn't get in the way.

I have now lost just over 18 pounds with weight watchers, and a total of 51 pounds since I first started this quest in January of 05. I tell you what...they say if you take it off slow it will be more likely to stay off. I hope this is true because it is SlOW. As you all know, I don't have many 4.4 down weeks. I hope this is a downward trend.

Thank you all for your support and ideas. It is funny, because at the meeting I sat there and could not wait to come home and write to everyone. Funny to get excited about reporting to a bunch of people I've never met.

Anyway, should close for the day. Will visit again tomorrow. Have a good day everyone!!!

Morrigan, do you count your 12 oz latte as 1 or 2 milks for the day? I've only been counting it as one and then having yogurt later in the day to make up my second. Have I had 2 all along and just not known it??? That would sure help me with the 20pt thing!

I don't remember who, but someone was asking about the salmon oil tablets. They are just tablets that you can get at GNC or any other heath food store. Salmon/fish oil is very good for your heart, blood pressure, etc. There has also been talk (although nothing definite) that taking two salmon oil tablets before walking or working out can help you lose the tummy bulge. I take it for my health, because since I've started WW I have been using a lot of sprays for cooking and almost no oils, etc. This way I know I'm getting the oils my body needs each day, and if it helps with my leftover baby bulge - all the better!

Wednesday May 3rd

Breakfast: Oatbran cereal with berries (3), creamer for coffee (1)
Lunch: A monumental, ate way too much, what was I thinking - kind of lunch. A few bowls of bean soup (6), crackers (1), 2 South Beach Diet Bars - I should just throw the box away (6), wine (2)

Leaving me 5 points left for the day, but I will probably be full through evening.

I had 2/3 cup of homemade spaghetti sauce and 2/3 cup of cottage cheese. I am sure the spaghetti sauce is pretty high in calories (considering all the hamburger - which I forgot I wasn't supposed to be eating due to cholesterol). I am going to call the whole thing 8 points (which may be a few less than it really was).

This gives me 27 points for the day.

So sleepy today. And boy is it hot here. We are sitting right next to 100 degrees. It is too early for that!

Breakfast

yogurt 2
1/2C go lean crunch 1.5

Lunch

a taco salad minus the shell with chicken instead of beef from a local mexican food place (that I love)! They have great food, so I was real good in getting what I did. I think it still to be about 9 points.

Have a great day!

I figure the 12 oz latte is about 1.5 servings of milk. I throw in a calcium pill and call it good.

Well, I made it through my second day of 20pts. I'm sick so that doesn't help matters, because when I'm sick I want cookies and banana bread and ice cream and any other comfort foods that I can think of. I'm really proud of myself for getting through this day and not going over my 20 points, and for drinking 10, 8oz glasses of water, all 5 of my fruit/veg, both of my milks and both of my oils.

Gotta say, though, I'd really like a bowl of pasta and some chocolate chip cookies!

Good morning everyone. I didn't check in last night due to TOM coming with a vengence. OMG! I am in pain. Talk about PMS. I got it bad. I am popping Tylenol every 4 hours. I do not like to take anything harsher than Tylenol because my grandmother ruined her kidneys with Advil and Aleeve. I suppose anything in moderation is ok, I just feel funny about it. So, I shall suffer.

Dinner last night was from a WW cook book. It was Spinach fettucine (sp?) with chicken. It was yummy will post it with the pepper recipe very soon. I ended up a bit over points last night. I had a grande non fat no whip mocha from Starbucks. It was SO DARN GOOD. So, I am ok with that. I also had two points worth of chips while I cooked dinner and had more than my share of the pasta.

I plan on riding my bike this morning. Don't feel like going to the gym. I did 45 minutes yesterday. 15 on treadmill (up hill at 3.5) and 15 on eliptical and 15 of crunches and other abs.

Today so far I have had my malt-o-meal and black coffee for 3pts.

Have a good Thursday!
