oooh damiere....i looked up blooming onion because I did not know what it was http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blooming_onion#section_1. It must be good, but i don't know how restaurants can serve such food with good conscience. I know people don't eat the whole thing, but that is a lot of fat
Had a fantastic weekend. I was only down .4lbs at WW, but it's better than a gain and besides - I did TERRIBLE last weekend and I know I paid for it. Anyhow - I went the whole weekend without drinking! I know, I sound like a drunk, but that's huge for me! All of our friends are SUPER social and drinkers. But DH and I had a quiet weekend and stayed home and just enjoyed each other. My cake decorating class was AWESOME! It's a month long and next week I bring in my own cake/frosting to work with. Yesterday, DH and I took advantage of the BEAUTIFUL weather and went on a 16 mile bike ride. It felt great to get back out there!
---
gooch100 - I have learned that certain food combos keep me fuller for longer. Example - for a snack I have an apple w/ a piece of babybel light. I have learned if I don't eat the cheese I get hungry sooner. The apple alone will spike my blood sugar and make me ravenous, but the protein from the cheese settles me and keeps me full. I agree about the power foods, too. I try to stay away from anything I can't read the ingredients to.
straightahead - Thanks! I actually write a blog here if you're interested. I also have subscriptions to Cooking Light and WW. I love the Cooking Light magazine!
Mandykins - Welcome!
roxannestags - It was a blast! Next week is all on piping/transference. I can't wait. I'm very lucky I don't have a problem with sweets, as most people in there were tasting as they frosted.
smashlers - I blog here. I eat the same types of food every day, but vary it up. My breakfast and snacks are usually always the same, for lunch I try to bring leftovers. I also dealt with the whole eating most of my points at dinner, but I've found if I keep my point values at set points for each meal it helps A LOT. My breakfast is between 6'ish pts, AM snack is 2'ish, Lunch is 12'ish, PM snack is 2'ish and then dinner is 12'ish. If I have any left over it goes to some sort of ice cream.
Daimere - If you have a smartphone you can buy the "Dotti's Food Score" app. I LOVE it. It has nearly every restaurant you can think of and their point values, including Outback! It's really user friendly and you scroll through to see point values instead of having to look each one up. I was a skeptic at first and went through and calculated each one myself, and I havent found any errors.
ade903 - WOOHOO on your loss!
-------
Breakfast - Deep Chocolate Vita Top w/ 100 Greek Yogurt and banana - 5pts

Lunch - Leftover 6" subway sub w/ pop chips and baby carrots - 13pts
Hi! I'm new and I just wanted to introduce myself.
My name is Paulina, I'm 19 years old, and I work at Disney World. I'm originally from Costa Rica but I'm currently living in Orlando, Florida.
I'm 7 pounds overweight but they might as well be 100 for the way I feel about myself. I think I might be at my heaviest right now, I'm not sure. I'm terrified of the scale, and I haven't had the courage to weigh myself in a long time. Today I finally did it, ugh 148 freaking pounds on my 5'3 body. At least I know it's only going down from there.
I've always had issues with my body, since I was like 13 years old. I've gone through all the eating issues you can imagine, from bulimia to anorexia to exercising compulsively, etc. I've been to a thousand therapists, although I'm not currently in therapy, but I'd like to go back eventually. In summary, I hate myself, and I'm trying to hate myself a bit less everyday.
Anyway, I still have issues with food but I've overcome bulimia and anorexia and now I only have problems with binging sometimes.
I started weight watchers like 2 weeks ago, and I felt pretty good, but then I had a binge attack during the weekend and I decided the only way to really track what was going on would be to weigh myself every week and to get support from a forum or something. During those 2 weeks I used every single one of my weekly points, but now I think it wasn't such a good idea, I don't think I lost much. I'm not going to use them at least for a while for now, to see how it goes.
I feel huge and disgusting and I just want it to go away.
Okay so here I am, re-starting weight watchers today, I'll probably be here everyday, because I really need the support, and I'll be glad to share my support with others as well.
Oh and btw I'm only doing weight watchers online, not actually going to meetings.

Well, I'm just signing on one last time to let ya'll know that you won't be seeing me around these parts anymore...at least for 9 months. We found out this morning that I am pregnant!!! Sorry my stay was brief, but I'll be back. I've always believed in WW.

Congrats, that is wonderful news! You can still focus on healthy eating while you are pregnant, but at least the weight gain you'll have will be the good kind. Enjoy every minute of it!

I will definitely focus on healthy eating. I've been priming the stepkids to shift toward healthier eating...I just haven't been practicing what I preach...I'd usually binge after they went to bed. I feel like my less than two week stint on WW has helped that a lot. I was reviewing what they suggest vegetarians eat while pregnant and I've been pretty spot on since starting WW, I just need more of it! And thank you
Back read four pages!!! Whew that was a lot hehehe. Missed you guys!
Well lost 2.0lbs on my last WI. Thought I had gain because of that 40pts turkey wrap . Whew! Good thing I stayed and tracked after that messy tuesday.
I will be having my monthly breakfast with my girlfriends tomorrow (i mean later today because its 12am already now hehehe). It will be at Ihop (we take turns every month the place of breakfast and who's paying) so been checking out their menu on what to get later. Of course will be picking up stuff from their simple and fit menu. So far the highest points I see is like 16 pts and not bad for breakfast. And surely will be heading for the gym later in the evening.
Well hope everyone's having a blast! Stay happy and healty everyone!
Straightahead: Since you posted the page, I had to look up blooming onion. Holy cow, as much fat as 67 strips of bacon! Years ago I had one for when I went out on a date. We split one between two people. Wow.
Somuchfattitude: Glad it was a good weekend!
Yellowlight: welcome
Ade: Congrats!! That is pretty awesome!
myfavisblue: have fun at the breakfast!
I was pretty disappointed with myself. I didn't make my daily exercise goal yesterday. Made it to 84%. I even went for a nice long walk with the beagles. However, when I got home, I went to bed and slept the rest of the day for the most part. I've been fighting a bug and was super tired yesterday. So I can forgive myself that one. I go back to work tonight and will definitel get back on track.
SoMuchFattitude - I need to start paying closer attention to which food work best together. Something just isn't working with my current menu selections.
Smashlers - I am planning on stocking up on the Power Foods when we go shopping this coming weekend. The total hunger lasted all blooming weekend. I was much better yesterday but this weekend was a total and utter trainwreck. I used up all my WPs, APs and then some.
Thankfully I am only up .4 for the week but considering my 3 day food-fest, I am not shocked at the gain.
Looks like I can get some APs tonight shoveling. We are supposed to get another 4-6 inches tonight. I am SO sick of Winter. I want Spring to get here so I can start working in the garden.
Good morning, friends! I'm having a good week so far, point wise. I seem to have trouble during the week getting motivated to exercise, though. I run on the weekends when hubby is home to stay with the kids, but during this time of year it's dark when he gets home during the week so I can't go. Trying to fit in some exercise videos, but they really don't thrill me that much.
Today I plan on moving my sewing room from the basement to a new place upstairs, so I suppose that will be a good amount of exercise for today. :-)
myfavisblue: 40 point turkey wrap? Whew! Good job though on staying on track and showing a loss!
roxanne: Take care of yourself, hopefully you're not coming down with something. I did last week and it was no fun. :-(
gooch: Shoveling snow, eh? Yuck! But it is great exercise for sure. Good luck!
Not too much thrilling going on in my world. DH is sick as a dog. I'm wondering if he doesn't have the flu. All the symptoms and I'm the only one that got the flu shot in our house...and I feel fine....hmmm... Is it a bad time to say "told you so" to him? Poor guy. He's miserable.

yellowlight - Welcome!
ade903 - WOOHOO!!! Congrats!!!
myfavisblue - Welcome back and to your 2lb loss!!!
roxannestags - 2lbs is HUGE! That's awesome! Don't beat yourself up over only getting to 84%. You have to take care of yourself so you feel up to working out and exercising. If you run yourself into the ground it'll take longer to recover and get back into working out!
gooch100 - What's your typical menu look like? I'm happy to help if I can!
forkeeps - Have fun moving your sewing stuff!

Dinner - usually try to keep this between 10-14 pts
tonight is dijon salmon (6 oz) on a large dinner salad w/FF ranch and 1 oz shredded mozzarella cheese - 10 pts
1/2 cup brown rice - 3 pts
Diet Coke - 0 pts
Snack (if I have points left)
Usually popcorn (3pts for 1/2 bag) , Pirate Booty snack (3 pts/1 oz) or pita chips (3.5 pts/1 oz)
I usually add 1 pt to my daily total to account for the SF stuff (diet coke, SF jello, etc.)
I count all fruit over 1 serving as 1 point/each since I am always over 5 servings of fruits and veg each day.
I try to drink my 64 oz of water but usually only hit 48 oz.
I am thinking I have too much dairy and probably need to add some additional protein, especially in the morning.
Breakfast
high fiber dried fruit muffin - 3.75 pts
2 cup coffee - 0 pts
4 T creamer - 2 pts - Side note: I use FF 1/2 & 1/2 and it's 1pt for 1/4c. string cheese - 1 pt I'd have greek yogurt instead. It's 10 grams of protein and 2 points in the WW Yoplait 100 greek cups.
Pear - 0 pt
Breakfast: 8pts
Snack 4 oz LF yogurt 1.5 ptsHave your string cheese here - 1pt.
with fruit (today is blueberries)
Snack: 1pt
Lunch
Big salad with romaine lettuce & mixed veggies (carrots, peppers, cucumbers, celery), 3 oz chicken, 2 T FF ranch, 2 T parm cheese - 5 pts I'd lose the parmesan cheese because at 2 tablespoons you don't really taste a whole lot of it. Then you could add 2 more oz of chicken for the same point value in your lunch.
Diet Coke - 0 pts
SF jello - 0 pts I'd add some sort of grain - maybe crackers or something for around 3pts. FF pretzels are 3pts/serving. Lunch: 8pts with my additions
Snack
veggies (peppers, cucumbers, celery) - 0 pts
Apple
String cheese - 1 pt I'd add something like hummus - 4pts for the individual size Sabra cups.
Snack: 5pts
Dinner - usually try to keep this between 10-14 pts
tonight is dijon salmon (6 oz) on a large dinner salad w/FF ranch and 1 oz shredded mozzarella cheese - 10 pts
1/2 cup brown rice - 3 pts
Diet Coke - 0 pts Veggies? I roast nearly all of mine with EVOO to give me the healthy oils. 1pt/1tsp So, say you add roast asparagus w/ 1tsp EVOO to your dinner
Dinner: 14pts
Total: 36 - I'm not sure how many you get.
That's only 3 servings of fruit - so I wouldn't worry about adding points for them.
Snack (if I have points left)
Usually popcorn (3pts for 1/2 bag) , Pirate Booty snack (3 pts/1 oz) or pita chips (3.5 pts/1 oz)
Hope this helps some! I hate when I'm hungry and it's my downfall so I've spent a lot of time figuring out good combinations. lol I'd make a TERRIBLE anorexic.

SoMuchFattitude-Thanks for your tweaks. Some I will incorporate and some I will have to pass on.
I like the idea of adding hummus, pretzels and/or crackers. I can swap chicken out for the parm since I am getting other dairy.
I have some weird texture issues with my food which sometimes makes my menu planning a pain. I don't like cooked veggies but raw are fine which is why I eat so many salads (like every single day at lunch and dinner). I can't stand the thick texture of greek yogurt. It is OK in a dip but to eat it all by itself...shudder! It's just too thick and goopy. So those two things are a pass.
I am pretty sure the sugars in fruit trigger pretty massive cravings for me so I assign the point to make me accountable for how much I eat versus treating it like it is "free". More than 2-3 in a day and things have the potential to spiral out of control. I went back and looked at my tracking for last week, I had several large servings of fruit salad on both Wednesday and Thursday and I think that is what made my hunger go out of control on Friday and Saturday. I cut way back on my fruit consumption and by Sunday night, I was back to feeling normal and actually had points left over yesterday without feeling hungry. Today is going well too.
While it sounds strange since I am dieting, I am trying to keep the FF stuff to a minimum. Mainly because they tend to use artificial sweeteners to boost the flavor and I am already getting enough of those in my Diet Coke, SF Jello & FF Ranch (maybe some day I will be able to give up my Diet Coke, but not anytime soon) .
It is a giant PITA trying to find the best balance, isn't it? Tweak this and it impacts that. Eat more of that and it makes you crave this. I just keep telling myself that I didn't gain all this weight in 6 months so I shouldn't expect it to come off in 6 months. It is a worthwhile, if difficult, process. Right?
SoMuchFattitude: How are you coming up with your combinations? What are you looking at when you meal plan? I am intrigued by your combinations and would like to know how you are coming up with what your combinations.
Gooch: My son has those texture issues too (although in his case he is autisic) so I totally know what you go through planning around texture issues.
I have had the munchies the last couple days. I am barely managing to stay in point range. Sometimes I am not hungry just have that urge to eat and sometimes I am just starving!
