Hello All~
Not much happening in Kentucky, except the State Fair...go to it every other year, and even then, not much changes. Walking and staying OP by Journaling and attempting to be creative with menus. Going to try a chicken stir-fry for dinner tonight. Living life in the slow lane, and somewhat bored, which is dangerous for me as I like sugar to give me a buzz when I get in ruts like this, but keep telling myself don't give in and this too shall pass. I'm not shedding weight to "meet a man", but I sure would like a date with someone fun.

Congrats J-ann on your 8.5# loss, nothing tastes as good as success.

Hi ladies!

I'm back on track for two days now and feeling more up every day. I haven't exercised yet today but am headed for the back yard to do some cleanup. I figure it will be worth 1 point. Then I plan to do either some walking outside or maybe dust off the treadmill. Plus I need to do my weights and stretches. If I can jus do that all, it will be four points worth. Hope I don't just sit down in the backyard and enjoy the temps!!

I'm still on vacation. We went to the casino for lunch and then some entertainment. This is something we only do once a year which is good because DH lived in Las Vegas for 20 years before we met. He and I have different views about casinos!! Anyway, we had a good time and walked out with a good chunk of our money. That made it even better.

J-Ann: That sucks about the gain. some of that maybe sodium in the Chinese. But good for you for getting back on track. We have to remember that there are just going to be bad food days. We're human. People without weight problems have the occassional food days. They just know when to stop and we aren't good at that. We just have to learn that and move on. Keep it up!

Darby - I always think the fair sounds like a great fun until I get there and find its always the same. Hot and humid!! I've taught DH about chicken stir-frys and we really enjoy them. Boredom is a problem for me too. That's when I do alot of poor eating. Find something you enjoy and keep busy. Also, remember that you're getting thinner for you; not anyone else.

I better get busy. Have a great OP day!

Hello All~
Attempting to login and read message board everyday so as to keep up with happenings all over the US.

Terri~I have learned that when I go to the State Fair, I'm there during the week, at 9:00 a.m., when the gates open. For one, get a decent parking spot and not much of a crowd. Can breeze through the exhibits, which I love and stop and linger at my favorites. Fair food always smells better than it tastes, even when I wasn't watching what I ate, and it's expensive. What I used to do is have lunch around 1:00 p.m., when the crowds starting coming through the gates, and then leave. Our State Fair is in the Convention Center, so it's airconditioned, even where the livestock is, is air conditioned but they haven't done much for odor control. Of course, all the rides and food places are outside. Next year, when I go to the Fair, will do the same as in year pasts, except only get a sugar free soft drink, leave and have lunch at a "safe" restaurant.
