Hello!

Just a quick report this morning. I've had two accomplishments the last few days. First I got my bike out (finally!) and rode around the neighborhood for 30+ minutes for two days in a row. Second, I went to WI yesterday morning and was down 4 pounds. This is two that I had gained two weeks ago and two new friends gone! I finally got my ten-pound star! Geez, that took a long time but who cares, its still gone.

Yesterday, was kind of a lax day so today I'll find some sort of activity to do. I may start shampooing rugs after church.

Have a great OP Sunday and start of the week!

Hi all , This was a busy challenging week for me . It was extra busy , & unusually hot . I made some good choices & some not so good . But what got me was water retention . I drank lots of water & it all went to my legs & ankles . I gained almost 2 pounds . Its cooler today & it'll be a better week activity wise , too . I've been busy building a tower/fort for the kids , which I have enjoyed a lot . It's pretty much complete , now . So , I need to find another project . That's why I love summer time .
I hope everyone has a great week . Kathy

Good morning,

Not much time this morning but I just wanted to drop in and say hi. Food wa good yesterday and had a good walk with the dog.

Kathy - wow, you built a tower/fort??? You must be very handy with the power tools. I'm jealous and in awe! What a great grandma you are. Humidity in the summer makes it hard to feel like we're doing okay because of the darned water retention. Got me today so I need to drink more.

Have a great day!

Hi everyone -
WOO HOO I lost another 4 this past week - feeling pretty good
Not the easiest journey but definitely rewarding.

I just was out searching for a Mac & Cheese recipe for dinner and noticed that we're lucky in that almost anything out there can be tweaked to go w/our program.

Houndlvr!! Four pounds is fantastic. You're doing this at home aren't you? That is great commitment. Keep up the good work. That's what I like best about WW - is that we can work all foods into our plans as long as there is moderation and balance. I think so much more realistic than other "diets" that restrict foods.

Hey guys, I'm back. It's me, Cynthia. Had to sign on with a new name and all since I've changed internet service and everything. Kind of nice to see some new faces (or returning ones as the case me be).

Terri, that's great that you are riding your bike, good for you. Remember that conversation many moons ago about neighbors doing weeding in our yards? Well, mine put in about 5 hours in mine today and it was GREAT!! The previous owners never did anything in the 4 years they lived here and the place was amazingly overgrown. Thanks goodness for Gary, the neighbor. It would have taken me weeks to figure out what all to do, never had so much landscaping before. I felt bad because I could only spare a couple of hours myself, have too much to do with the house and getting it liveable. Plus, now that I have basics again, nothing gets in the way of my eating and exercising properly!!

I'm getting back in the groove, got internet a day ago so can finally "talk"with you folks again. Bend is great - so beautiful and so many trails within town, it's amazing. I think I'm going to get in LOTS of exercise this summer. DH and I are backpacking this weekend, and I think it will be the first time I'm fit enough to really enjoy it.

Can't wait to catch up with everyone,

Cynthia (who will figure out how to do an avatar and put in a sig line at a later date).

Good morning!

I'm sorry I don't drop by so often these days. I'm very busy with work (at the yarn shop) and designing (my real passion) and teaching (which I also love) and that leaves only a little time for my family - and almost no time for posting on boards.

I'm down another couple pounds in the last month (have to remember to update my sig line here). I haven't been "trying" like I know I should - I've just been living, and I'm glad enough to find that I haven't gained weight like mad, ya know?

Headed off to Orlando (and Disney) at the end of the month - I figure that's gotta be a null sum - lots of bad food, TONS of walking and sweating - right?

Hi everyone ,
Determined , yes I do have a woodshop . I have sawdust in my veins . I come from a long line of woodworkers . Not that anyone would show me anything . That wasn't for girls . Eventually my dad stopped worrying that I was going to cut off a body part & it gave us something in common . Sadly he passed away 5 years ago & I inherited his radial arm saw . Some people relax by knitting , I garden & do woodworking .
Cynthia , we're practically neighbors . I live in Washington state . Lots of recreation , if you don't mind the occasional shower . Hey , that's why the Northwest is so lush & green .
I went on my 1st graders field trip , to the zoo . That's one benefit of raising kids again , you get to do fun things like the zoo . I love the sea animals the best . Puffins are so cute . They are little sea birds . I love the cats , too . It was supposed to rain , but didn't . Other than having a cold , it was a good day . Point wise it's been a so so week .
Jenanne , i'd settle for a couple of pounds amonth , right now . You're doing something right .
Houndlvr , 4 pounds is great . You must be very focused , great job !
Talk to you all later . Kathy

Good evening ladies!

Wow, three new posts!!

Welcome back Cynthia and Jen! I've missed you both!

I've had an okay couple of days. Tonight the dog and I are mad because at about time for our walk it started raining and shows no sign of letting up before bedtime. So I shampooed the living room carpet instead while dog and DH hid in the bedroom. Cowards.

MIL got moved today into her new apartment. Finally! She will be so much happier knowing that there are people around her all day - people she can get to know and will be looking out for her. It will also be good that's she less than a half-mile from my work. I think Saturday, I'm taking her shopping again and make sure everything is gone from the old apartment. Then, life will settle back down again.

Tomorrow, we're having a cousin of DH's and her husband over for dinner. So there will be mad dash house cleaning tomorrow night when I get home from work. That's always good for a point or two burn!

Cynthia - Okay, in this case, I'd call that a great neighbor! I'm sure that was a huge relief to have help after all the work you've done recently to get moved. I'm jealous of your exercise opportunities. So, I'm expecting to live vicariously through yours experiences! No bike riding this week (too much rain and distractions) but I'm planning on next week.

Jen - You must be loving the yarn shop. Hey, great job on two pounds gone. It is progress! Post when you can - you are definitely missed but your family time does come first. Orlando sounds great. You definitely will get in your exercise. Have fun!

Kathy - Your post made me smile. Its been awhile since I've been to the zoo. I used to take my nephews and nieces but they think they outgrew it a few years ago. Enjoy those grandbabies!

I better get to bed. The dog is going to be crushed when he has to go to the garage to sleep instead of outside and plus no walk.

Have a great Friday and weekend!

Terri, at least you still got in some APs shampooing that carpet, that had to be some work. The neighbor and I spent three hours trimming back some shrubs all along the driveway. This is about four years of growth and it took a bit of doing, particularly getting the stuff underneath so the lawn crew could keep it cut with their machines. We uncovered some sprinkler heads so maybe the grass in that area will no longer be yellow ! There's got to be at least another day or two of solid work left before everything is up to snuff, then I have to buy some bark dust to put on quite a few of the areas to keep the weeds down. Originally I had planned to work an hour a day in the yard, but with the gift of Gary's help, I didn't want to let it pass by. So I've had to put off working on the inside of the house for now.

Kathy, fortunately Bend has weather similar to Denver and doesn't get much rain at all during the summer, which is one reason we chose it for our summer home . In fact, Redmond, which is about 20 minutes away, is considered a desert and looks it.

Ugh, pretty tired now. I never get a chance to get on the computer until late these days, mine hasn't been put together yet so have to wait till DH is done with his. Since he actually uses it to work (what a concept), I have to wait till he is done.

Have a great weekend all.

Cynthia

I'm definitely loving my new job. Working in a yarn store is bad for my budget though... LOL! I'm definitely addicted.

This week is all about work (two new classes starting at the shop, boss going out of town for a week, etc) and lawncare (mowing our multiacre lawn) and getting the house ready for the kids to return.

Just checking in (because I don't want to fall out of the habit again).

Hello ladies!

Summer is here! Already griping about the humidity.

I'm doing fairly well. The scale is slowly creeping down and I'm anticipating a decent WI on Saturday. I think all the exercise is finally helping. I know I haven't been a complete with food but I haven't totally sabotaged myself either.

Jen - Wow, you have a busy week. At least that keeps you from sitting around eating too much junk! Have fun with the classes and enjoy the outdoor time on the mower. I love doing the riding mowing because I get to daydream.

Everyone, have a great OP week. Let's have a focused one and post some more losses!

Yee ha - down another 2.
Someone asked if I'm doing this at home - YES and it's tough to keep myself honest, believe me but it's worth it!

One meal at a time
