I hate vacuuming. Unfortunately, so does DH. We solved our problems though, we got a Roomba. I am in love with the little guy. The cat loves him too.

Just a quick AM check in. I did cardio (hip hop) on Monday and some plates and UB lifting last night, so far so good on the work out track. Not so much on the food. It’s easy to walk out the door with my healthy snacks and lunch and be an angel all day, but when I come home and finish my work out things tend to go horribly wrong. (think ice cream, and “wouldn’t it be nice to go out for Mexican tonight honey?”) I guess I’ll just look at it as room for improvement.

For the record I hate vacuuming too. I’ve surrendered to the dog hair and dust bunnies.

Fru has decided that I am a "food ****" and won't post here- her words. She can be found on other forums. Feel free to PM her. This was in response to the "Guess What I Ate" thread. Does anyone else feel this way? I'm in a quandry about how to handle this. Some of us really like to talk about our treat meals and for others, reading about it is a binge trigger. It's been a problem on this (LWL) part of the forum before, and other section of 3FC have similar set-ups. Any advice? I'm the mod, but you all are the ones who make this place work! Let me know what you want, or don't want to see happening. Please, if anything bothers you about the forum, feel free to PM me rather than stomp off. I would miss you all

I hate vacuuming too. I'm convinced it aggravates my tendonitis

I'm not recovering well from workouts this week. Monday's leg workout near crippled me, and it wasn't much different from my usual. Either I'm getting sick or just need a break...hmmmmm...break....last spring?
So I did a VERY wimpy 10 minute shoulder workout with stretchy bands and medicine balls this morning and 40 minutes of leisurely pedaling on a stationary bike. Hardly the high energy workouts that Fran describes!

I'm contemplating shoveling snow- but I may contemplate so long that I have to go back to work first!

[QUOTE]I hate vacuuming too. I'm convinced it aggravates my tendonitis [QUOTE]

This is how I got my first housecleaner. We were both working and I literally could not lift the vacuum cleaner wand (and a lot of other things - like from the microwave which is over the stove). DH was working weird hours and constantly tired, so enter the housecleaner. I had one for about 7 years and it was heaven! Now that he's well, and retired, we do our own again. Sigh.

The "Guess What I Ate" thread doesn't bother me. People talking about food doesn't trigger me - my own mind does that just fine! If I don't want to know, I won't read it....

I like the "Guess What I Ate Thread" because reading about food can totally trigger me. I like that it's there so we can all go and "confess our sins" when we want to but for me, it needs to be on it's own thread so I can avoid it when needed.

Moving on...I'm having a pretty good week, I think. Food is always a struggle but I've been very consistent with my workouts and today it's Power Day!

Ah vacuuming. I both love and hate it. If the vacuum cleaner doesn't have to be carried from floor to floor and is good quality, then I love it. I think it can really make a house look clean. But mine weighs a ton, doesn't work too well and I have all hardwood floors, so who really needs it?

Well sometimes it is a real trigger for me. I find it hard to have other peoples food fantasies popping up here and there but that is a part of life so I feel like I have to learn to deal with it. It's too bad Fru left this forum as I'll miss her in here. Glad she didn't leave the site all together though.

Hang in there, Mel. As you know it's impossible to do the "right" thing for everyone so don't be too worried about it.

Mel - I think the separate thread for our cheats is the best approach - we had that here a few years back, and I thought it was great - those of us who wanted to "indulge" in what others had done could, and those of us who couldn't didn't. I think that being sensitive to the needs of everyone here is a good thing!

I have to admit that I felt hesitant about posting about the Kashi products I found that I liked in my last post - for that same reason - not wanting the "c" word to trigger a binge for anyone.

I hate to vacuum too, btw. Maybe I need to look into getting a Roomba. Not sure what the cats would think!

Mel, I was here at LWL along with you, Cindy and Tiki too (I think) when we first started a thread for the food trigger posts. Back then I recall that we had MANY requests for a separate thread and everyone was happy with that solution. Those who wanted to post about what they ate could, those who wanted to read about off-plan eating could, and those who wanted to avoid talk of binges and trigger foods could do that. It's really win-win that way, isn't it?

I personally am quite affected by reading about trigger foods. When I read that one of my buddies at 3FC ate and and , it makes me feel like hey, if they do it, then it's OK for me to do it too.

Weight loss and maintenance are hard enough without 3FC making it any harder. We come here for support, not sabotage, right? One of my big strategies for avoiding binging is to come here and read ... so the last thing I need to read about is about trigger foods. If the thread is clearly marked, then I know to avoid it. But if it's right in the middle of the weekly chat, you really don't have any warning.

My two cents.

I figured it was my downfall post that had triggered the suggestion for the new thread, and it made sense to me. I am also sensitive to reading about the slip-ups of others - I don't get the "if they can do it" thing, but it puts the thoughts in my head that I try to clear out I think. But I am equally guilty.

I don't recommend the high energy workout. I can't walk today. Mostly my legs are the problems. I think I wasn't warmed up when I did my dumbbell s/l deadlifts, so I'm really feeling them today. But it's all good.

Funny how workout binges don't illicit the same responses from readers that food binges do. If only my post made everyone MAD for 2 hours of exercising!!!!

Oh, wouldn't that be great?! Or if it was like a virus..."Oh, damn I caught Fran's dumbbell s/l deadlifts!" That would be great!

lol, I think I did, but on Monday. Maybe Fran caught if from me. I still can't walk. I'm really dragging.

Thanks everyone, for your input about the food thread. I don't even think it needs to be a confessional- we all have good meals that we want to share. The point is not to make anyone feel guilty about eating good food happily or having to confess to a weak moment unhappily. It's just as Meg said...so that those of us who are teetering don't get ambushed inadvertently. Most of us are good enough at falling off the wagon without extra help. OK...that subject has been thrashed enough as far as I'm concerned.

Who else got snow today?

We had snow Mel, but not what they expected. They went ahead and canceled school and we got a skiff, that's it. I was secretly smug to hear you were shoveling and I wasn't!! Hopefully that's the LAST of the white stuff - darn groundhog! It's supposed to be in the 50's starting Saturday and it looks good from there on the extended forecast, so I have my fingers crossed.

I went back and dug out my BFL-original book last nite. I feel like I've taken a foreign language class in the interim, because it's soooo much easier to read and understand now. (Bodybuilding 101 maybe?) Like the fog has been lifted from my brain. It's interesting to see the original approach from where my "W" version was born. I have a new appreciation for reading it after 6 months of somewhat doing it. It doesn't seem as overwhelming or confusing now.
