nftm I can really relate to wanting to slow down at meals and to stop eating when satisfied. For months and months I had that mastered and I don't know what happened, but now I have a very difficult time not stopping until I feel full. I hate that feeling when you just want to eat and eat.. that is the hardest thing for me to conquer. This time of year is hard, I feel like I want to eat more now that its cold outside! I am going to work at reducing my calories by a couple hundred per day and see how that goes! I am glad that you are doing well!!! Hopefully we will get out of the 179s soon!

Hello! I was over in the 180s thread (very quiet - not that I helped much, since I was more lurking than anything), but I figured I should shift over here.
I'm at 172.2 this morning.

chanticleer welcome to the 170's, but it looks like you wont be here very long!!! How long did it take you to go from 179 to your current weight? I have been in this thread for a while... bouncing between the 179s and 177s

Kfunk: Congrats! It's always nice to see a new low weight (or an old low weight )!
I lose in a very sawtooth pattern. I stay around the same (within a pound or so) for 5-14 days, then drop, then repeat. It can still be irritating, but it's way better now that I know what the heck's happening.
I was 179.8 October 28, and I got to 172.2 on November 13. So, about three weeks? Part of that was faster than normal for me because I had a week in there where I walked an average of 10+ miles a day and usually only ate two meals (out of town stuff for work - that is not my norm). Keep in mind I'm 172.6 today and have not gone off plan at all. It'll take me 2-10 more days to go down any more weight.

Well... I think I am going to have to say farewell, at least for now. I have decided (yet again) to stop dieting and try Intuitive Eating. It seems to be a yo-yo thing, but I'm trying really hard. So I wish you all luck in your weight loss endeavors! <3

I lose in a very similar fashion, I still get so frustrated and feel the need to change up my plan when it slows down or stops!! That is awesome that you had such a nice stretch!! I hope that it is closer to 2 days before you see the scale move again!
nftm I wish you the best of luck with intuitive eating!!
175.4 today

NFTM: Good luck - I hope it works great for you!
Kfunk: Same. I often feel the urge to rush things, but I've found it's counterproductive. It looks like you're dropping lower in the 170s - congrats! I'm about the same (bouncing around 171.6-172.6). I'd LOVE to see the 160s late this week, though.

chanticleer This must have been one of my drop zones and now I will bounce up and down for a while until my next one! Good luck getting into the 160's this week!!! I can not wait until I am back in the 160's! When I started this it seemed so unobtainable but I am actually doing it for good this time! Do you have any idea where you will want to end up when all is said and done? I am thinking 140 for me, but I haven't been that low in almost 2 decades so it could be higher or lower, time will tell.

kfunk: I'm so familiar with the drop and bounce. My goal is probably around 111 - I was there before I gained, and my doctor and I agreed it was a good weight for me. I have some joint issues that my doctor says will progress slower if I'm as light as I can healthily be. I also have teeny tiny bones - I can wear kid watches and my ring size is a 5.

chanticleer How was your Thanksgiving? I ate way more than I had planned and went from 174.4 to 176.2 overnight!! I have no idea what my healthy weight is going to end up at, I have been heavy for so long!! It is nice that you have a good reference point for your goal!

kfunk: It is nice to have a reference point, but it's also very frustrating and discouraging at times because I know just how far away I am. But I'll get there eventually. My Thanksgiving was good - I didn't overeat at all, and I haven't overeaten with any of the leftovers. It helps that my family stresses me out so badly that I usually can barely eat at holiday gatherings (I use 'helps' loosely, here).
Still puttering around inside that same pound. No sign of 160s yet. It's been 9 days of being the same weight. If my pattern holds, I should see some kind of drop in the next week. Still scares me that the loss will just STOP, but I know I'm eating at some kind of deficit, so that's unlikely.

Chanticleer That is awesome that you didn't overeat this weekend!! I had thought that I had made great progress over the past year, but after this weekend I realize that I will be battling these food demons for the rest of my life. The desire to overeat to the point of pain was in full force. 177.2 this morning because of it. I am sorry that your family stresses you out I hope in time that gets better.
I just watched a buddy of mine from this website get stuck for a couple weeks only to be followed by a week of 1lb. per day losses, and that gave me so much hope for the next time I get stuck! I am excited for you to get your drop!!
I know what you mean about feeling like our goals are still so far away. Some days I feel like I am within reach and other times I get so discouraged. I can't wait to be in the low 160's. I think that once I get there I will have a fresh outlook.
