Default Nightmare cravings-help!

Hi everyone,

So I've been doing really well on eating healthy this week but all of a sudden last night and today I've had these monster cravings! For cheeseburgers, pizza, fries. I feel like I could eat it all right now!

I'm trying to do this nine day detox which is going really well (no meat-just fruits, veggies, beans, egg whites, and oatmeal.) Sounds a bit extreme but I only have a few days left. Also, I've done it in the past and lost ten pounds!

Do any of you have any tips on how to curb your cravings? It actually seems to be subsiding a little bit as I'm writing this (thank GOD for this forum!) but if anyone could offer any help I would really appreciate it. Thank you!!

A zero fat, very low carb, and low protein diet will make all people want to chew their arm off.... your body is probably quite desperate for the carbs and fats it needs so you can't stop thinking about the fastest/easiest/tastiest way to get it.

If you are going to continue this, I suggest making sure your choices include lots of fats (ie. avocados for your veggies).

I don't know what you would do on a diet as restrictive as your current one. Normally if I have cravings, I try to pinpoint exactly what it is I want and then try to figure out a way to satisfy it without going overboard. I love cheese, so I might end up having something with just a bit of cheese to satisfy the craving, but fills me up at the same time so I don't want to keep going back for more.

It sounds to me like you might be craving fat, and no wonder, with what you've been doing for the past week. Since you're committed to your current plan, the best I can suggest is to distract yourself, like coming on here, or doing something else fun, instead of eating those things.

Sorry-forgot to mention that I am allowed to eat fats. Obviously limited.

If you can eat fats and you seem to be going for the most "natural" foods possible then avocados and nuts will help you immensely.
