wheres MY whoosh!! Stuck at the same weight for a few days, going to drink loads of water and see if i can egg on some weight loss before my weigh in day. I do find a cheat meal works when things are desperate, weight will go up for one day and then back down, not doing it this time round will stick to my diet and see what happens!

Sheena, I have to do the cheat meal thing sometimes too. It seems the easiest way to break a plateau!

I was 225 last week and I'm 237 today. I definitely haven't eaten enough to gain that much in a week but...that TOM is starting soon so I'm bloated as ****.

I found green tea to be very helpful. It's a diuretic.

If I plateau up to 2 weeks, I assume my body has adjusted to my plan. I do additional workouts temporarily to shock my body out of the rut.

It's been a good whoosh week for me! Was stuck at 118 for the longest time (ok I have been cheating on weekends ) but finally down to 116 today. That makes it a 20-pound loss since 1 July 2013. 17 more to go!

I'm waiting on the whoosh right now, as well! Arg! I just recently started back up eating well and I actually invested in a personal trainer. We've had 3 sessions over the last two weeks and they're pretty intense. I read it can take a little while for your body to release those fluids surrounding your muscles, trying to "protect" them when you start an intense program... so I'm hoping here in the next week or two I will get a big whooosh!

I also only have a whoosh during 1 week plus a day or two a month. The rest of the month its a roller coaster and I might net a lb or 2 off.. But that (this) one week... I lose 4 - 6 lbs.. Its amazing. I think it might be age too as I am 55. When I was younger I could lose every week... So just a heads up all.. when you get older, weight loss changes... Just don't get discouraged!!! stick with it... Or tell your older friends as most of you won't even be in this position of having to lose weight when you are older as you have conquered the loss and will be maintaining magnificently in your older years!!

on thedietagain - you have given me the answer I needed to support me in being patient and waiting for the "woosh". (I love that expression, so much better than waiting for the plateau to break).

Your explanation that
"... After fat cells had been emptied of stored triglyceride (fat), they would temporarily refill with water (glycerol attracts water, which might be part of the mechanism). So there would be no immediate change in size, body weight or appearance. Then, after some time frame, the water would get dropped, the fat cells would shrink. The fat was emptied and burned off days or weeks ago but until the water is dropped, nothing appears to have happened.”

IT MAKES SENSE and it is logical, just beyond my current knowledge. Thank you, thank you.

Default And I am back again, just like mt signature says (((

Hi

Here I go again...I have relaxed for couple of years and gained all the weight back. Low Carb do not work for me any more, so I am running back to my old friend calorie calculation.

The older we get its seems like less food we need physically , but we want more mentally. Or maybe its just cold dark winter.

I am here and will be waiting for whoosh while working hard on shrinking my fat cells

blah I've been hating the past few days! I got down to 174 and haven't seen that number since!!! 175.3 today!!! it's really frustrating. I know it's not a huge gain but it doesn't make me feel like I'm making progress.
