Sorry not to answer earlier Cg, yes it was the cauliflower mash your put on the recipe thread, bloody loverly :) Try it... you'll like, you can taste the cream cheese in it and it mashes really well.

I've just eaten a lovely roast beef dinner, my tum was rumbling as I was only on oatmeal and toast from this morning and I enjoyed every single mouthful.

I bought the cutest stocking hangers yesterday, I'll have to post a pic, they're snowmen, (I rather like the odd snowman or two around the house) so the stockings are hung on the mantle and it looks very festive...got a Christmas film on the telly but won't watch it all as AR comes on in a bit.

RSG, be careful up your way, the forecast said you'll get some settling snow, starting through tonight, we're to get rain, with maybe a little wet snow down this way... lovely...cos I have to take the car in for a service!

See you all tomorrow.

Snow day...please I would kill for a snow day :)

Went out for dinner, had a couple of cocktails, it was nice.

IPOD finally charged so I had a great run, I was going nuts in here waiting for it. Of course right when I started doing laundry it was finished charging.

heylo everyone, hope you all had a good weekend.
i had an odd one, went to see parents and boyfriends parents for first time sinc ei started to lose weight.
my mum and dad knew i had been loosing and were complimetnry and extatic for me, and boyfriends m+d asked lee secretly if i had lost weight cause i looked v different, which is great too. but i went to get jeans, and i found that im having problems AGAIN.
im not a 20, because the 20's i have are massive on me and belts wont even hold them up, but when i try 18s on in the shop they only just get on, and look awfully tight like im in the wrong size.
only thing i have to do is ware old jeans which fit last febuary but never since, and there 38inch waist mens jeans.
but even they are a bit baggy now, i just wanna be into 18s, i thought 18lbs would be a dress size :-(

lou1978 12-04-2006 03:43 AM

dont get dishartened..(spl!) your doing great... i think the shops change the sizes everynow & then.... adn even in the same shop a size X in one item is different to another... well in the UK anyway !... its a nightmare...

gd tho that the 20's were too big..... it is down to how you want clothes to fit too.... like used to having to buy stuff coz it fits (by this... you can get in it and do it up... even tho its too small!) ... not because u like it.... but now you can have a bit more choice.... you are more choosey??

have a look in different shops... theres about an inch or difference here in uk sizes!

keep up the good work your doing great...

i hate being inbetween sizes... grrrrrr but just gives the movitvation to oosea few more lbs to they are fitting right...

lou x

 You gals surely chat LOTS over the weekend!

 all round!

I walked MILES and MILES on Saturday - Oxford St was closed to traffic and DH was going into work to work on some job application at 7.30am so I got up with him and we both went into town. I walked from Warren St all down TCR, then right onto Oxford St, to Oxford Circus, back down to Charring Cross Rd, then Covent Garden, round covent garden, back to TCR, back up Oxford St, watched a band for a while, walked up to Ox Circ again, then all the way to Piccadilly, back up Regent St, back along Ox St, then up to the top of TCR. PHEW! I'm going to G-map pedometer it to see how far I walked! No wonder the scales are being friendly this weekend!

Yesterday we ate mince pies  and went to the library and lazed around and watched DVDs and read books! :D I got an apple cookery book with some yummy and healthy recipes in. I am going to try a few sometime!

lou1978 12-04-2006 04:33 AM

but did u get your shopping done ?? Lol....

i did that walk last week.. minus covent garden.. i went up 2 marble arch to meet jen form work... ooo the trourists taking pics of random shop windows... just stand right in the middle of the pavement grrr

i think that bit should be pedestrianised all the time.. just too many ppl for the pavements... we did cycle up oxford st in the summer.. that was funny..

Look! Animal's gone all Christmassy!

<------- :lol3:

Sarah Ann 12-04-2006 05:37 AM

Ah, Freethetoys, its horrible being between sizes. I'm the same at the moment - size 16 jeans are so loose that they fall down and size 14 jeans are okay if I'm standing up but I can't sit down in 'em for more than a couple of minutes. All the different makes vary in cut so try shopping round and see if you can find something that fits better. What inside leg are you?

 @ Christmassy Animal. Cute!! Jen, you must be :censored: after all that walking. I think Covent Garden is the only bit of central London that I miss. My daughter went to school in Drury Lane and later at Gt Windmill St just off of Picadilly Circus so I know the area very well.

:o :o :o :o Well... I completely embarrassed myself this morning! To the back of my house is wilderness - nothing at all for miles - and the only way to get round the back of my house is to climb over a very high fence - so its very private .... no need for net curtains. So this morning I got out of the shower, walked in to the back bedroom (where my wardrobe and hair stuff is) and I was half way through drying my hair (bent over upside down) when it went gloomy - I looked up to see the :censored: window cleaner up a ladder doing the window. :o :o :o :o :o :o Worse... I had to then pay him ... and all he said was 'You've lost a bit of weight then.' Arghhhhhh!!!!! :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

2frustrated 12-04-2006 05:56 AM

Awww at least you got a compliment out of it though ;)

redsoxgirl 12-04-2006 06:22 AM

Sarah that happened to me once, even though I live in the middle of Boston my place is high up and on a corner so there are no adjacent buildings. So I get out of the shower, strolling around nude and there's a guy in the window on one of those cherry picker things changing light bulbs for the street lights. Almost gave me a stroke.

No snow today the weatherman teased me.

BritinNJ 12-04-2006 06:32 AM

Morning....

FTT, keep trying with different brands of jeans for now, like the others say, it's hard being between sizes, you could check out some US web sites for clothing, they have 'juniors' and do in between sizes, like 17. Wasn't that nice having lovely comments made about you with your loss by your parents and boyfriends family, you can be feeling very good about yourself

Frus- Good Lord woman, that was some walk...I don't know London very well, whenever I go, I wander around aimlessly, but seem to see all the sights, but I know of most of the places you mentioned...

Sarah - well yes, that would be rather embarrassing to be caught like that kuv, sorry but I have to say, it did make me guffaw rather loudly when reading it  but like Frus said, you got a nice comment about your loss about it...seems he had a good look....where was Ellie to jump at the windows and scare him away then :)

I've been up since two, the power went out, and for some reason I couldn't fall back to sleep so got up to make a cuppa... the gas hob still works without electricity here...as I got up, the power came on, so I made a cuppa and sat and flicked through the telly channels, ended up watching The King and I... I love that film.

It's piddling down here...has been for hours, might turn to snow later, but won't settle here, you're to get some settling stuff RSG, but I doubt you'll get a snow day out of it luv...shame, I loved snow days when I was working in NJ, except all the kids I worked with lived quite close to me and I'd see them when I'd go out to play...

Ok, time for coffee

Red sox girl - almost gave you atroke? What about him???!!

2 frus - you are MAD! Going to Oxford Street? My friend asked (jokingly) if I was going there as it was 'traffic free'. I bet it was murder! Thank god for the internet. I avoid actually walking into realy shops now as much as I can. I am gonna be a hermit!!

I cannot believe that in my 20's I used to love goign up there. Now I never know where I am - the shops I remember are gone (tower records I believe is not htere now so I get confused!!! and the crowd seem to always be going in the opposite direction to me so I somehow get shunted along!

peacock 2 12-04-2006 06:34 AM

Free the Toys- do you go for rigid or stretch jeans. I am only an 18 if there is streeeeeeeetch!

2frustrated 12-04-2006 07:00 AM

Oh I didn't go in any SHOPS :lol3: We just went for a walk! ;)

Oh actually I went into Thornton's and they were queueing out the door! I did get about 3 extra box of choccies though! I went in for 2 boxes, they were on 3 for 2, then I bought a box for me which had a quid off, then as I'd spent over £15 I got a free box! Oh and I bought some boots for my birthday at 10am when it was dead as a doornail. I think the crowds come out for about 3pm! So it's really quiet at about 10am, best time to go down!

BritinNJ 12-04-2006 07:17 AM

It's snowing! At present the weather man is on the news saying we'll only have rain... but it's definitely snow... Pen and Lew just went out for a wee and a pooh and instead of a brown and a black dog coming back in, they were both rather white looking :)

It's turning the roof white too...very pretty to watch... makes one feel very Christmassy :)
