Lou, mice can climb anywhere, stairs on tables all sorts... get a trap my luv, otherwise you'll be having yucky mouse poop everywhere and the little critter will be in your food cupboards... I had one out in AZ earlier this year and he was a pain in the bum... got him with a trap and a big dollop of peanut butter....now have one in the garage, but he can stay, he's not doing any harm out there.
CG... welcome back to the land of electricity, hope you've warmed up now and have a nice nights sleep in the flannel sheets. Windy as **** here, just drove out and picked Hannah and her friends up, and dropped them off at various houses, haven't got a bloody clue where they all live, down dark little lanes...and they can't give directions for sh**. "it's the second turning, not counting this one"... WHAT? Which side? "oh, yes, the left, second on the left, not counting this one" We can't say it's the third turning? GRRRR...time for a cuppa and then bed... listening to the wind. See ya tomorrow. |
Ewwww - mice - hate 'em. You can get those humane traps where they get trapped but you then have to 'relocate' them. Like Chris says, PB works well - as does chocolate. Do you have a friend with a cat that you can borrow?
CG - Your weather sounds scary! Chris - I hope you don't get the same as CG. Its still fairly mild here - and damp. We've had so much rain this autumn that the ground is completely saturated so, now, even when it doesn't rain there are still puddles everywhere. There are warning notices on entrances to the Moor that the public shouldn't walk there until it dries up a bit. Last time I was over there the boggy areas had risen and joined up together and its almost impossible to find a safe/dry trail but because its peat bog it floats and you don't know that its not safe until you stand on it and start to sink. |
Eww mice, as long as they stay away from me!!!
I've just been out for a 9.5 mile run, my longest since Guy Fawkes because I've always had other things to do at weekends. I need to pick some stuff up from the post office now before going over to manchester later. Got my FLM rejection mag this morning :( |
I had a mouse in my flat last year, refused to buy a mouse trap cos I couldn't bear the thought of squishing the wee thing, I set up that trap that you linked to, it worked a charm. After trying to catch the thing for days on end and never finding where it was hiding, the trap got him overnight and we let him out in a field the next day. Think we had left too much food lying around that tempted him in the first place, but we cleared it all away so the only thing to eat was in the trap.

The wind has died down now, just breezy and the sun's out. Was quite wicked last night though, although not as bad as CG's weather. Dave's going out to buy another snow shovel this morning, as we're forecast the white stuff for Monday...wish they'd make up their minds. But watch out girls, usually what weather we get here, is over England way a week or so later :)
I am off to curves in a mo, then the post office to mail parcels overseas...it's only a little tiddly village like PO, so I hope they're not to shocked when I lumber in with three huge boxes for them to take care of :) I went in for customs forms yesterday and had to ask for them, and they were shocked at me asking for five of them... My tummy is rumbling....better eat something before going out....have a lovely Saturday girls. |
I had no idea we are forecast for snow on Monday, if we get a snow day I will be one happy girl. The wind was ridiculous last night.
I took my friends son (he's 2) to see Santa last night, got me feeling a little festive, he sat on his lap but he looked shocked, not really happy. I have a phobia of mice, last time I saw on in my old apt, I slept at my mothers like a scared little girl, then got a cat at the rescue league. That was 10 years ago, said cat is laying in my bed right now and I haven't seen a mouse since. This is gross but my neighborhood is doing a lot of building and it's stirring up rats, once in a while I see them when I walk to school.....NASTY. |
Cheers Sarah, I'm going to have to print them my self and sell them direct to shops, I just want to be an illustrator not a flippin printer! Oh well.
I'm lucky if i've sent cards by the 18th, that's the last day isn't it? for 1st class. |

Father Christmas.... I used to love that visit to his grotto. I always used to take my daughter to the one in Selfridges - we used to have to queue for HOURS but my daughter was convinced that he was the only real FC and all the others were just helpers. Nobody get upset with me cos I don't mean this nastily at all - but looked at objectively the whole FC thing is a bit strange. Responsible, loving parents spend the whole year teaching their kids not to talk to strangers and would be completely horrified if their little one accepted sweets or a present from some old bloke they had just met. Those same loving, responsibility parents are devastated (and sometimes angry) when their little 'uns get upset about the idea of sitting on FC's lap. Then, of course, the self-same weirdo with the dodgy taste in clothes and an reindeer fetish will creep in to their bedroom in the middle of the night while they're asleep - its amazing they don't all get nightmares! |
lol, know what you mean! I won't be remotely upset if she's not interested in Santa.

Sorry to hear that about DH and his Father
:(

Sorry to hear about DH being away and his dad dying of the big C. Hopefully he will be home soon. Whatever is up with the cat? does he usually pee everywhere. Is he only doing it when DH i snot around? Perhaps he misses him? Usually it is either a sign the cat is stressed or a dominance thing. Has another cat been around upsetting him? |
SarahAnn - I know what you mean. I can remember going to a store with my Nan and brother. We 'had' to sit on Father Christmas' knee and I really did not want to. I later informed my mum that he "stank of beer". I am sure the real FC would not!
I have aphoto of me and Borther on his lap. We look really uneasy. I had fawn ribbed tights on - very wrinkled. I have lost non of my sartorial elegance, I can tell you! My brother proudly displayed his Mr Spock badge! |
