December Chat
It is December now Ladies!
I have just turned the last page of my Johnny Depp calender:) Happy December one and all |
Hello!
I don't have an advent calendar :tantrum:  |
I don't think I have ever had one. Ah well....
|
I don't even feel christmassy at all. Weird.
|
I'm not feeling Christmassy at all yet, however I did think about buying some ballet tickets at the ROH for my mum and dad. :D I'm only "thinking" about it yet!

Sticking on one of my many cards (nobody wants!) might feel a bit more christmassy :)
|
I've bought DH a Barbie advent calendar. Not sure why - just seemed like a good idea at the time.
I'm starting to feel a bit Christmassy - it probably helps that the Chavs next door have got so many lights on the outside of their house that I don't have to turn on a lamp to read a book in the evenings any more. |
i did have an advent calendar, one that went right through till new year, but i ate the whole thing in one go last week
|
Hi everyone - im a newbie here, just thought id stop by and say hi to everyone!
|
:welcome3: Lothuial

Christmas cards - arghhh - when does everyone send them out? |
I send them out individually as I get them since I'm tight like that!
|
I've got a fairly long list but we've decided to prune it a bit this year. I'm going through it right now crossing through the people we haven't heard from for the last couple of years.
|
Happy Decembery Christmas season :) I love December and I am feeling Christmassy... and I have an advent calendar.. two in fact, for the kids... but I will have to open J's until he gets here which will be the 12th ;)
I love Christmas cards too, write loads out.. but, like you Sarah, I do prune a bit each year, if I've not had one for a few years from someone, usual thing is though, I prune that person out, and then they send me a lovely across the miles one and a lovely letter about not being in touch, so I have to re add them...happens every time. Well we've had a couple of downpours already this morning and the wind comes and goes.. outside, not from my bottom ;) Supposed to be right nasty later on....oooooh, that was a bit of Suffolk/Norfolk coming out...'right nasty'. Dave will be home later with the shopping, I've told him loads of fruit and veg, so hopefully I can yo-yo back down again this week. I do love that he grocery shops, it's like having my own personal Tesco's or Sainsbury delivery, except it's from the commissary...and he puts it away when he comes home too :) Parents evening went well, all the teachers LOVE Hannah and said how well she's doing...very different to when we used to go hanging our heads in shame after seeing J's teachers....LOL! I was back in time for Survivor...although I did sort of race through with the algebra teacher, who put something up on her computer to show me...meant absolutley bloody nothing to me... so I told her, I can't help with that homework, cos I don't understand it myself...and we were done :) Right then... must get on and do a few bits and go to curves... later taters....HAPPY CHRISTMAS SEASON :) |
 Shame on you Chris rushing through the teachers to get back in time for Survivor! :nono:
|
I'm accidentally living with the new boyfriend, and he's managed to get to 36 without having an advent calendar, and now he's a bit grumpy because I haven't got him one :dizzy: He doesn't eat chcolate!!! I was looking for one with just numbers, but they don't seem to exist!
I'm off to Budapest at the weekend and back on Monday. And we're planning a trip to Germany in March, Italy in July and Australia in November. I'm completely taking a break from the weight thang for a while. I am maintaining nicely, but I just haven't got the headspace at present! |
Hello!!!
Enjoy Budapest, I thought it was this weekend you went. That sounds like lots of nice trips you have planned, very jealous! I don't have an advent calendar, although I might give in and get one on the way home from work. |
How do you 'accidentally' live with someone???
Hungary should be great - for coffee and cake. Wow you are going to a lot of places! |
Oh - you can definitely 'accidentally' live with someone - thats pretty much how DH and I got together.
Welcome back Kylie - you're going to have a busy year! Yes, you can get advent calendars without chocolate - I think I saw one in the homestyle bit of a Tesco the other day. |
NOt so much fun without the chocolate though, surely!
I am hopping mad. I had xrays due to 3pm today and had to have a full bladder. I made sure I drank enough and was wriggling about in my seat for ages. Half an hour before I need to go there - I get the 'runs'. Ever tried sorting that out without gong wee too? So now I wont getseen until 28 December! |
Oh NOOOOO! :( Hope you feel better soon.
|
I had a really rubbish day yesterday, had to see a lecturer at uni cos I was stuck with a report and he pretty much told me I should have been able to do it in primary school, let alone honours year. Feeling a little deflated and still struggling with the report. Medicated with takeaway last night, even though I was doing well this week. I really have to stop doing that. It only ever makes me feel worse.
|
Awww Wana - have a hug (( ))
Thanks Sarah Ann - I think it was drinking so much water had erm 'loosend' things! Still I can now eat something at least so I am going to enjoy (I hope) a spinach and ricotta cannoloni. I won't check how many calories are in it though! |
Thanks peacock, although to be honest, a swift and hard kick up the backside is more likely to help! My lecturer was right, I'm not cut out for this academic stuff. I can't even convince myself not to eat a takeaway when I'm on a diet - that doesn't show any kind of intelligence at all.
|
I've been on my own for 6 weeks now, OH had to rush to his Dad bedside (cancer), he spent 4 weeks with him, arranged the funeral and is now looking after his Mum. Hopefully he'll be home soon - I'm eating far too much chocolate and am getting a tad lonely now. I know his family comes first but ... *sighs*.
My Ginger Tom has got the arse and decided to Pee in a electric socket in the kitchen, shorting out the whole ring main! Cat was ok, I had to be rewired & have new sockets....grrrrrrr. This is the same Cat that Pee'd in my PC and blew that up ..... double grrrrrrr But I still love the little bugger. |
Poor Peacock, hope the tums better. That sort of thing happens to me too..it's usually cos I get all het up about something though, and end up running to the loo... used to happen every time I flew, but I've got over that now.
WWAB... Just got off the phone from CG, she lives near St. Loius, they've had terrible storms in the mid west since yesterday. They didn't get the two foot of snow, but had ice storms, they've got no power, it went out last evening, so her house is freezing, they only have a log fire to heat...and are all wrapped in blankets... She said to let you all know, she went to McDonalds for lunch, it's across the road from her, and they have power, but she didn't have a porn star big and tasty, she had a salad and a rank cup of coffee... We have a wind advisory going right now, and they've said we might lose power, so I'm off to fill up some buckets of water in case we do, otherwise we can't flush the loo... |
arghhhhhhhhh a mouse is visiting ... not sure where it got in...

how u suposed to get it on the table.. i dont think its trained lol... one glass broken.. no mouse caught.. 1 - 0 to mouse.. |
Hello everybody we have power :carrot: :carrot: .
We had a really bad ice storm and down came the tree limbs and the power lines. It was :censored: freezing. I listened to tree limbs crashing through the night. We have 2 trees at the side of our house that are horizontal from the ice. I got pictures and will try to post them. So not a very good day eating, McDonald's for lunch and pizza for dinner. Haven't drunk much water as it was so cold. I'm going to have a hot drink right now and watch some TV. |
Lou, mice can climb anywhere, stairs on tables all sorts... get a trap my luv, otherwise you'll be having yucky mouse poop everywhere and the little critter will be in your food cupboards... I had one out in AZ earlier this year and he was a pain in the bum... got him with a trap and a big dollop of peanut butter....now have one in the garage, but he can stay, he's not doing any harm out there.
CG... welcome back to the land of electricity, hope you've warmed up now and have a nice nights sleep in the flannel sheets. Windy as **** here, just drove out and picked Hannah and her friends up, and dropped them off at various houses, haven't got a bloody clue where they all live, down dark little lanes...and they can't give directions for sh**. "it's the second turning, not counting this one"... WHAT? Which side? "oh, yes, the left, second on the left, not counting this one" We can't say it's the third turning? GRRRR...time for a cuppa and then bed... listening to the wind. See ya tomorrow. |
Ewwww - mice - hate 'em. You can get those humane traps where they get trapped but you then have to 'relocate' them. Like Chris says, PB works well - as does chocolate. Do you have a friend with a cat that you can borrow?
CG - Your weather sounds scary! Chris - I hope you don't get the same as CG. Its still fairly mild here - and damp. We've had so much rain this autumn that the ground is completely saturated so, now, even when it doesn't rain there are still puddles everywhere. There are warning notices on entrances to the Moor that the public shouldn't walk there until it dries up a bit. Last time I was over there the boggy areas had risen and joined up together and its almost impossible to find a safe/dry trail but because its peat bog it floats and you don't know that its not safe until you stand on it and start to sink. |
Eww mice, as long as they stay away from me!!!
I've just been out for a 9.5 mile run, my longest since Guy Fawkes because I've always had other things to do at weekends. I need to pick some stuff up from the post office now before going over to manchester later. Got my FLM rejection mag this morning :( |
I had a mouse in my flat last year, refused to buy a mouse trap cos I couldn't bear the thought of squishing the wee thing, I set up that trap that you linked to, it worked a charm. After trying to catch the thing for days on end and never finding where it was hiding, the trap got him overnight and we let him out in a field the next day. Think we had left too much food lying around that tempted him in the first place, but we cleared it all away so the only thing to eat was in the trap.
|
The wind has died down now, just breezy and the sun's out. Was quite wicked last night though, although not as bad as CG's weather. Dave's going out to buy another snow shovel this morning, as we're forecast the white stuff for Monday...wish they'd make up their minds. But watch out girls, usually what weather we get here, is over England way a week or so later :)
I am off to curves in a mo, then the post office to mail parcels overseas...it's only a little tiddly village like PO, so I hope they're not to shocked when I lumber in with three huge boxes for them to take care of :) I went in for customs forms yesterday and had to ask for them, and they were shocked at me asking for five of them... My tummy is rumbling....better eat something before going out....have a lovely Saturday girls. |
I had no idea we are forecast for snow on Monday, if we get a snow day I will be one happy girl. The wind was ridiculous last night.
I took my friends son (he's 2) to see Santa last night, got me feeling a little festive, he sat on his lap but he looked shocked, not really happy. I have a phobia of mice, last time I saw on in my old apt, I slept at my mothers like a scared little girl, then got a cat at the rescue league. That was 10 years ago, said cat is laying in my bed right now and I haven't seen a mouse since. This is gross but my neighborhood is doing a lot of building and it's stirring up rats, once in a while I see them when I walk to school.....NASTY. |
Cheers Sarah, I'm going to have to print them my self and sell them direct to shops, I just want to be an illustrator not a flippin printer! Oh well.
I'm lucky if i've sent cards by the 18th, that's the last day isn't it? for 1st class. |

Here's another, feeling a bit more christmassy, taking Alice to Santa's grotto.
|
right.. traps are set....
watch n wait... dirty little things.. ewwwwwwwwwwwww it however has dissapeared!>... searched everywhere.. |

Father Christmas.... I used to love that visit to his grotto. I always used to take my daughter to the one in Selfridges - we used to have to queue for HOURS but my daughter was convinced that he was the only real FC and all the others were just helpers. Nobody get upset with me cos I don't mean this nastily at all - but looked at objectively the whole FC thing is a bit strange. Responsible, loving parents spend the whole year teaching their kids not to talk to strangers and would be completely horrified if their little one accepted sweets or a present from some old bloke they had just met. Those same loving, responsibility parents are devastated (and sometimes angry) when their little 'uns get upset about the idea of sitting on FC's lap. Then, of course, the self-same weirdo with the dodgy taste in clothes and an reindeer fetish will creep in to their bedroom in the middle of the night while they're asleep - its amazing they don't all get nightmares! |
