CHRISTMAS SOREEN???????

:T

I've got some soreen for my morning snack (it's one of those pre-buttered with real butter snack packs). But I haven't seen CHRISTMAS SOREEN :hyper: Must find some! We're a bit fruit-caked out though - just chopped up the last of the wedding cake and given most of the 12" square base to the 'rents! We decided not to keep any since DH doesn't really like it, and I like it too much and it's too high in calories, so out it goes!

Sarah Ann 12-07-2006 05:46 AM

Ooohhhh!!! A wedding - I  weddings. CONGRATULATIONS Kylie!

Well... my VAT inspection went okay. Chris, I don't know if its annual - it seems almost random. The last one I had was about 18 months ago. The inspector was a nice lady who was very helpful - she showed me a few new VAT tricks and complimented me on my record keeping. :D Poor woman, I was completely full of cold - runny nose, headache, achey bones - the lot - and she was stuck in my small (cosy) office with me with a couple of visits in to the unheated garage/store room - she's bound to have caught it.

I had an excellent NSV !!!!! My size 16 jeans were bagging around the front so I tried on a size 14 pair again and they fit very comfortably this time (not sure why the difference - I only lost a pound this week). I even tried on my Monsoon size 14 Christmas trousers and skirt and they fit as well.... yah! :carrot: :carrot: I'm just hoping that I fit in to my Christmas tops in time - they are still a bit tight across the upper back. :?:

I'm not looking forward to this evening - my least favourite ex sister in law is over this way on business so she's 'dropping by' to exchange Christmas pressies - this SIL is the miserable :censored: who is always politely rude about some aspect of my weight. She always does it in such a way as to sound like she's worried about me but we both know its nothing of the sort.

WOOOOO! Size 14s YEAH!

See you ARE skinny :D

redsoxgirl 12-07-2006 06:16 AM

People like that are so aggrevating Sarah.

Had a small victory yesterday also, except for the fact that I need to spend more money on clothes. I wore some size 12 pants that I bought over the summer, they are falling off and yesterday was the first time I had worn them.

One of my students was talking about her grandmother and said "my grandmothers tiny, like Ms. S".....Ms. S is me, I started laughing, can't really describe myself as tiny.

Then another one said Ms. seriously, those pants look stupid.

Gotta love em.

I definitely wouldn't describe myself as skinny. :D I don't think my jelly belly and broad shoulders will ever let me be skinny. :(

Glad to hear your audit went well Sarah, sorry to hear you sound so rotten though, are you dosing yourself up? Super well done on your NSV, that's absolutely brilliant... and I am sure that those tops will fit perfectly at Christmas...maybe you just need a bit of toning in that area, not actual weight loss?

I had an exciting run in with gushing water yesterday. I was out front of the house with my poop-a-scoop, picking up some pooh, it was a little breezy so I could hear the leaves that are still on the trees rustling, but the longer I was out there, I convinced myself that I could hear water running, so walked to the side of the house and looked over the fence.

Sure enough, there was water, gushing upwards like a guezer (sp)? right next to the house, the ground was all flooded and my first thought was oh sh**, my basement must be flooding as the windows are at ground level and not exactly fitted well and that's where the water was.

I ran around the house and into the water, it was about five inches deep at that point and bloody cold, and saw there was two valves attached so getting soaked, I reached in the gusher and urned and the water slowed and stoppped...very ingenious for me you know, usually I swear a lot, haven't a clue what to do and phone Dave in a panic....

Then when I looked at this pipe, I saw that there were cap looking things in the water, floating around the garden, so picked them out and figured they mgiht go on the top. They did, but I couldn't clip them back on, so left them.

Then thought to go down and see if there was any damage downstairs, thankfully not...don't know how not, but I'm thankful for small miracles.

Dave came home later and looked, the cap thingies, had actually snapped on their clippy bits... so couldn't be fixed back on, so a plumber was called... of course all this water gushing out, emptied the well... so no water, no cooking, no flushing the loo....always lovely. So I ate chinese for dinner last night and feel it this morning... all bloaty and horrible :(

So the plumber is coming back out today, so he can see what he's doing, to fix the thing (it was dark when he came last night) , we do have running water again as the well has filled back up, and I have to take dave to RI airport which is about an hours drive away, so as he can go to AZ and get J. They'll be starting their drive across country tommorrow after J's final test for graduation.

Right, I'd better get on, not so cold out today but tomorrow is not supposed to be nice at all... very cold...out come the doggy coats for my furry friends and walking... :)

Sarah Ann 12-07-2006 08:08 AM

OMG, Chris, that sounds really scary. You did well to keep your cool and turn off the valves. I'd have probably just stood there hopping up and down, panicking!

This cold is at the 'I've had enough' stage. The sore throat, headache and earache has gone, but my poor nose looks very seasonal (I could give Rudolph a run for his money) and I've got a sour tummy from so many meds - but I don't feel all tearful or want to crawl back in to bed today - which is a good thing because I've got a lot of catching up to do for work I should have done yesterday.

I've always had a bit of a tummy but those tummy muscles just gave up the fight when I had my hysterectomy and the :censored: surgeon did a vertical incission instead of a horizontal one. Not sure about the shoulders - working out/toning just makes me look even more like a Russian Shot Putter.

YP1 12-07-2006 08:50 AM

That water thing sounds scary, I agree you did well to think of what to do!

You might not think of it as skinny, but well done on the 14!

It seems I might be one of the few people to be doing fancy dress tomorrow judging by some of the reactions I just got when I mentioned what I was wearing. Oh well, it will give them all a laugh...

Today could well turn into the day from **** with work, why are there some clients who assume you don't have any other work to do and are at their beck and call. I might have to go to a meeting on Monday on the same file, in Switzerland. How sad is it that I immediately thought "but I'd miss running club"?! I'm trying to persuade them to do it by phone...

Clydegirl 12-07-2006 09:14 AM

It's :censored: frigid out there. Just took my youngest to the bus-stop,it was painfully cold. I've got the slow cooker on with a piece of beef cooking. I can't do roasts always turn out like leather.

Chris well done on the water. I would have panicked and been on the phone.

I'd love to get into a size 14. What's an NSV?

Stay warm everyone.

Sarah Ann 12-07-2006 09:25 AM

CG - an NSV is a 'Non Scale Victory' - like getting in to a smaller dress size or running longer.

Sarah Ann 12-07-2006 09:27 AM

Oh HELEN! Have you asked around to make sure you aren't the only one turning up in fancy dress?????? Now THAT would be embarrassing. :o

lou1978 12-07-2006 10:14 AM

OMG... anyone in Norf Lonodon.... ok i hope !

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/6217514.stm

we are 7 miles away..

redsoxgirl 12-07-2006 11:17 AM

Chris my house would be flooded if that happened to me.

Helen I can't imagine not wanting to go to Switzerland!!! Good for you.

Sarah...get better please :)

I learned a lesson today. One of my students was having pretzels and offered me some and I said "no thanks trying to be good today." She is tall and probably a size 10 or 12, in pretty good shape. I think she is 16 or 17.

Anyway she stood up and said "Miss you have no reason to be dieting, your not even a little bit fat." This of course made me happy but then I realized I work with teenagers. I need to stop talking about food and dieting. I don't feel like I do it often but obviously they know that its important to me or she wouldn't have said anything.

Anyway...bit of a slap in the face, I don't need to be making the teenagers all crazy and food obsessed. :(
