Mickey will get caught soon Lou, sounds like he's keeping you busy this evening.

I had a busy morning... went to the post office at nine, t find it didn't open until ten... so went to the vets when Dave called to ask me to pick him up. He was having his early Christmas pressie fitted in the car, a starter thingy (don't know the correct name) so he's a happy camper and when he's in Vermont and NJ on his travels, he'll be able to start the car from his hotel room without going outside and sitting in a cold car.......bless him, don't want him gettting cold...

After I picked him up, we went to the Christmas Tree Shop, I love that place... he'd not been in before and I picked up a couple of bits and bobs...a cute little santa on a stake with a windchime he's holding...it's so sweet.

Came home and did a few bits and talked to Mum, made the cauliflower mash for dinner, bloody lovely it is too. I've got left overs for tomorrow with roast dinner...yum.

Now I'm in front of the fire watching a Christmas chick flick on Lifetime.

See you all tomorrow.

Clydegirl 12-02-2006 11:57 PM

We got the tree up today. Got a new one, a pre-lit one very nice it is too. On sale in Lowes a bargain. Tomorrow I'll get the rest of the house done.

Chris was that the cauliflower mash recipe I put up?

Another windchime I bet Dave is pleased :D

Oh Lou I hope you get your moose.

The trees around here are like glass from the storm. Some beautiful scenes like a winter wonderland. Mind you not very nice when the ice crashes down on your car.

I'm off to bed see you all tomorrow.

Lou - How about his relatives? (They don't usually live on their own - sorry!) :(

Moo - Might the cat pee-ing thing be a sign that he's got a kidney/bladder infection?? Don't know much about cats - but I do know that house trained animals only pee in the wrong place if something is big time wrong. (Only on this forum will I ever find myself discussing cat pee!)

Chris - I've never heard of that gizmo - what's it called - and can you get them to fit Landrovers??? DH leaves for work at 5.15 and he's always complaining that the car never warms up.

CG - could you try and put up some pictures. I don't really know what an ice storm is - is it different from a snow storm?

Peacock - I must admit that as a small child my family's version of the whole FC thing was a bit sinister. According to my parents FC only gave presents to good children - if you'd been naughty you'd only get a piece of coal. I never did just get the coal but I was always convinced that I'd been so naughty that I never get any presents - especially as my brother would keep a year long list of my 'sins' to torment me with - so not only did I have this strange old bloke creeping around in my bedroom but he was a judgemental creepy old bloke as well.

TBH, what with all the publicity about weirdos there seem to be nowadays, I find the whole children sitting on Santa's lap thing makes me feel a bit uneasy.

What a night that was - we had very high winds (no, I don't mean the beans in last night's dinner!) We didn't get any sleep after 1.30. I just came back from walking the dogs and its done quite a lot of damage - branches off trees, tiles missing off roofs, garden fences blown over. People are wandering up and down the street trying to find out where their washing lines and garden furniture is. I think every single leaf in the entire village has ended up in my back garden. :dizzy:

It has barely stopped raining here for about a fortnight. This morning it is absolutely torrential, I've never seen anything like it. I'm a little worried because I live next to a river. Hope it doesn't break its banks.
Time to put the heating on methinks.

lou1978 12-03-2006 06:57 AM

yup.. we are keepmg the traps down to make sure.. i think oddly he was the only one as there was no sign - droppings, greasy skiring boards etc until jen saw it run across the room lol... with a "did u see that!"... lol..

i think it might have come in when i went to put some rubbish outside n left the door open... wont be doing that again!>..

so will hope now.. there are no more curtain acrobats..

BritinNJ 12-03-2006 08:41 AM

RIP Mickey...no more entertainment of cutain acrobatics tonight then Lou :)

Calm here and the sun is out...will enjoy our walk later.

Sarah, have PM'ed the details luv...sounds like you've had a bit of our wild weather move across the pond...

WWAB, no heating on yet? Wow... that's good.. take care with the river.

CG... we want pics...

I've been desperately avoiding putting the heating on for weeks. It's been on every now and then, but only in one room at a time with the door shut, can't afford to heat the whole flat. We usually snuggle up under a really heavy duvet in the evenings to avoid putting it on. I can see my breath in here today though so it's going on. I'll just have to buy less food to pay the heating bill. Can't be a bad thing I guess!

Glad the mouse is caught, the thought of him running around makes me nervous.

I am about to cry (ok thats a little dramatic) but I'm ready to go for a run and my IPOD has now power. I've been staring at it for an hour waiting for it to charge, and I just put 26 new songs on, so I'm ready to go NOW.

Scale has been very nice this weekend, good what a non-drinking, celebratory weekend can do for you. I do have plans tonight and I'm planning on a few fun festive Chrismas cocktails. Seems a bit concerning that I'm discussing cocktails at 9:30 am.....oh well.

lou1978 12-03-2006 10:11 AM

damn ipods.. mine is on its last legs.. lasts about 4 tunes grr

need a new one really but lack of funds it will have to wait...

its never too early to discuss drinking plans lol

redsoxgirl 12-03-2006 10:19 AM

A watched IPOD never charges!!!!!

I'm trying to amuse myself by cleaning up and I've managed to break a lamp. I need to get out of here and RUN :(

YP1 12-03-2006 10:22 AM

I'm glad the mouse is caught :)

I remember when my ipod died, I was devastated... until I got my new one :)

Back from Manchester. I had fun last night with my uni friends - scary that we met 10 years ago now! I came back pretty early today, I didn't fancy doing any christmas shopping in Manchester so just decided to come back. I went to the veggie Indian place in Leeds on the way home for the Sunday buffet lunch, I think I'm in love. I'm absolutely stuffed, but full of salad and dahl and healthy stuff like that. Lots and lots of veg portions for me today. Even better, last night I had a veggie burger and chips in one of the bars we were in, and hardly touched the chips. It's been a long time since I left food on my plate because I wasn't hungry. And I didn't drink much either. I'm not claiming I've been ultra good over the weekend, and I've probably still eaten/drunk more than normal, but it was a LOT better than it could have been.

Sarah Ann 12-03-2006 10:33 AM

   I  Indian food.

I haven't been out for an Indian meal in ages. Whereabouts in Leeds is it? We are desperate for a good Indian meal and Leeds is relatively local (the last one we had we travelled all the way down to Brum for it.)

I especially love Indian vegie food - so imaginative. The only problem is that DH spends the entire meal trying to figure out how he can reproduce it at home.

Argos has got a special on iPods at the moment <- click for info

YP1 12-03-2006 10:45 AM

Here's the website. Some of the info is a bit out of date, but it's still in the same place.

lou1978 12-03-2006 02:13 PM
