I did pasta with the balls and a tomato and herb sauce that I made myself. It was quite tasty. I was also bad and baked a pudding but I didn't have much of it I made it for everyone else. mmm I love sundried tomatoes must buy some its one of those things about being at home that my parents don't eat much of the same foods as me.

Am still not on properly whats wrong with me its dead annoying. I want it out the way properly before I go to Italy.

leah_0600 06-27-2006 08:00 PM

Hey everyone, i haven't been on here for so long! I finished my exams (as of tomorrow) so i decided to concentrate on my weight loss again (holiday next week! argh!!)

Hope everyone is well :)

P.S i've been living off skinny cow ice-creams lately, the cream and cookie ones are to die for!!!!!

2frustrated 06-28-2006 03:39 AM

 Hello everyone!

YP which knee support do you use? I was fine during that 10K, but then on Monday it was slightly playing up when I got home after 20 minutes!!!! D'you think it's the pavements? I have an Elastoplast support thing with velcro and a hole for your kneecap... Did you just use a tubigrip one? I think those might feel less restrictive.

Hi leah - exams are poo aren't they? It's the law that you have to eat at least one tube of chocolate digestives whilst revising!

I went kickboxing last night - I was apallingly tired! I did ok though, some interesting drills and a bit of sparring. I always forget I'm tired when I'm sparring, but the rest of the class I was a zombie! I was so tired that when I woke up at 5am (because of the sun) I was shaking, so I decided that I wouldn't run at 6am, but I will go and run on the :tread: dreadmill in the gym at lunch! At least this way I can be sure I'm getting my mileage in!

We are out on a train tonight for a Pullman dinner. It's sweet chicken chilli kebabs on a bed of Oriental noodle salad to start, salmon in a warm hollandaise sauce, with veg and sauted and boiled potatoes, strawberry shortcake for dessert and a cheese curse, sorry course! ;) I'm thinking I don't fancy the starter - then the main sounds nice and healthy if I can remove sauce (don't like sauces :barf: ), then a treat of strawberry shortcake, and one piece of cheese and a couple of crackers. I'm resisting the champagne!

I'm looking forward to it, but I don't want to eat too much, I shall have to relax and talk to DF rather than wolf all the food! Either that or just fill up on veg, and have 1 of each potato!

I've gotta get me to the gym then, if I'm to stay friends with the scales!

peacock 2 06-28-2006 03:42 AM

Cheese curse! Love it!!!

Do enjoy it, won't you?

Sarah Ann 06-28-2006 09:36 AM

Cheese! CHEESE!!!!!!! Who mentioned cheese??? :( :( I am doing my absolute best to not eat cheese and I'm sure its addictive cos I'm getting cheese withdrawal symptoms.

What's a Pullman dinner? Never heard of it.I know a Pullman is something to do with trains - does that mean you are having your dinner in a train??? I now have a mention vision of Frus on the Orient Express all dressed up in a 1920s outfit with a long flowing floaty scarf. Very Agatha Christie! :) :)

2frustrated 06-28-2006 09:41 AM

 Cheese on a train!!!

:cheese:

I'm going to put on a pretty frock - not sure which one yet!

Oh and remember your comment on your blog about too much exercise Sarah? I got one today too! Although I must admit I do sound a bit exercise bullimic in my post  Go check it out! HUFF!

I'm doing well, I'm proud I got to the gym at lunch and "ran" I don't like treadmills. I've got a nice rest till tomorrow evening - that's a whole 26 hours without exercise, d'you think that counts as a rest "day"??? :D

Sarah Ann 06-28-2006 10:53 AM

I think that sometimes you just have to do the exercise when you feel like it. At the moment I'm going through a phase of really enjoying exercising - I love the way my body feels during and afterwards but I am eating extra to compensate. Possibly next week I'll eat less and exercise less - but maybe not.... :) Swings and roundabouts.

I always do cardio on the days I do weights - I have to cos the dogs always need walking. I don't do any EXTRA cardio on the day I do LBWO, though. I'm sure that if your body didn't want you to do it, it would let you know one way or another. Just remember that you should be eating enough to regenerate the muscle - don't cut your cals too low otherwise you'll feel :censored:

Thanks to Helen I've got some good news! The last time I went swimming I only managed 40 lengths but, after reading Helen's experience with eating carbs before running, I carbed up this time before swimming - and I managed 68 lengths (which is a mile at the pool I go to.) It took me over an hour but I got there eventually!

Moo :) 06-28-2006 12:36 PM

I've just found out the rental house next door is having new tenants on Friday ..... am I worried? yup! My friend & her cats lived there for years and I'm just a tad concerned about what/who is moving in, I have 4 cats and have visions of Chavs with Pit Bulls arghhhhh

impossible princess 06-28-2006 12:41 PM

well done.

I finally found some shoes that fit they aren't ideally what I'd get for myself they are clarks and are flat and a bit more clumpy than I'd buy ideally but they fit which is a miracle and I managed to get some little flat indian shoes which fit as well and I had a voucher so it cost £24 for two pairs with that.
So yay I have sandals there were two nicer pairs which were softer leather so would probably have stretched but I can't take the risk as my feet swell up something chronic in heat and they were a bit tight.

I really need to go on the waiting list to get my feet fixed already.

YP1 06-28-2006 02:00 PM

Frus, I bought a tubigrip type support, but the slightly more sophisticated type that's shaped for your knee (so it's wider at the top to fit your thigh in ;) ) rather than the straight bandage type. It seemed OK this morning, although I did get a helpful comment from a bloke walking his dog that I shouldn't be running with an injured knee. I didn't feel like stopping to point out that the support is more preventative than anything, and I know what feels good for me not him... I did 7.6 miles without any pain at all so it definitely helped.

Sarah - carbs are definitely the future! It's stupid, I diligently carb loaded before races but didn't take the same approach to training runs that were longer than the races. They're still all nice good carbs rather than muffins and donuts, but it really does seem to make a difference. I'm glad they helped your swimming.

I'm not happy at the moment. My iPod seems to have died, and I'm desperately trying to revive it. Please let it come back to life...

lou1978 06-28-2006 03:03 PM

mmm my bro recked his running aparently.. although i though they were un-shockable...

hmm

YP1 06-29-2006 02:16 AM

A lovely morning for a run today, I've been out to do 4.4 miles down to the lake and back before getting ready to go into work.

The iPod is showing slight signs of life, but I think it's a hard disk problem and it's on the way out, the only question is when it dies completely.

kykaree 06-29-2006 02:58 AM

Boo!

I hope your iPod manages to stage a comeback. Such a nuisance when stuff like that dies.

I went to a running shop today and got some new trainers. Um sorry, but they're really good New Balance ones and um $219 down to $79.99. Which is 30 squids (can't find the quid dovalacky on here. And the @ is in the wrong spot too!!! The crazy antipodeans)

I actually went for a run last night. And got lost!!! But I got found again!!! It was very funny. I ran into the Eclusive Brethren compound, they chased me out again!!!

I miss you all!!!! I am having such a great time though and am finding lots of things that have changed, yet others have remained the same, it's quite weird.

Oh it was so funny when the guy at the running shop asked me where my next runs were, and I said Glasgow and Amsterdam, I sounded so important

2frustrated 06-29-2006 03:49 AM

 Hello stranger :D

Lucky you Miss New Balance for cheap ;)

Helen, I will have to have a looky at the tubigrips on the weekend, it's payday tomorrow :D So I might be able to afford one! I had to borrow £1.50 so I could kickbox tonight!

Well dinner on the train was LUVVERLY :T It was sooooooooooo good! I ate it all! I've fitdayed it and it wasn't too bad, plus it was particularly healthy, and I did have cheese  it's not the cheese that worries me, it's the crackers that I can't resist!

I feel remarkably awake today, considering I ran yesterday and it's nearing the end of the week! Perhaps it was all that food yesterday, nice recovery food :T

Bruises - I have one on my abdomen, just under the front bit of my rib cage :?: WTH? I think it's from practising front kicks on Tuesday, but jeez, give a gal a break! I also have a cracking one on my shin from Monday where some small child decided to beat me to a pulp! :tantrum: That big one on my knee is gone though!

Looking forward to kickboxing tonight, unfortunately I have that Friday feeling, so only if I remember that it's Thursday!

micheleherts 06-29-2006 05:03 AM

Good morning everyone

Yp sorry about your IPoD my son only got his Christmas but his froze so we sent
it back and they replaced it with an IPOD Nano it is so tiny.

Lovely to see you Kykakee what a downer about the footie you were totally robbed your man fell over hope Australia is coping with it.

I'm feeling sick I have a funeral to go to this afternoon. My father's best
friend died a couple of weeks ago. They grew up in the same street in Ireland together. We shall pray for him at the Church and cry for him at the cemetary but then go and have a good old drink afterwards.

Did anyone watch that programme How to look good nakey? It was the same old bolloxs really. They dressed this lady up who said her hubby hadn't seen her nakey in years. She wasn't that big actually, just curvy. Did all her make up and hair. She did look gorgeous I have to say, and then took a final piccy of her starkers laying on her front. We could all lay lie that and look ok. You
either look good nakey or you don't. I personally think I look better with my
clothes on but I could never be bothered with laying on my front all the time
I just tend to let it all hang out charming eh!!

Now with that lovely thought I shall say au revoir

Have a good day everyone and take good care

Michele

Ipods are not shock-proof, sometimes the little reader on the hard drive can get knocked and :censored: the drive up. Best bet is solid state MP3 for extreme running, however you tend not to be able to get them in such large capacities! Maybe one that takes SD cards, then you can put a 2G card in it.

Anyway, enough moaning about Icr*p ;)

I've scared everyone at work! I was practising my kickboxing in the car park! :D I have improved immensely on the few things I was doing - apart from my kicks :tantrum: but they ARE hard, so we shall just see...

Feeling quite ready for kickboxing tonight! I can't wait :hyper: Oh and I seem to have figured out the shaking in the mornings - I think it's because I tend to drink a lot of caffiene on kickboxing days, so the morning after it kinda withdraws with some shaking! :dunno: Either that or I have parkinson's 2 days a week!

I read a review of that the reviewer was wondering how this woman couldn't be naked in front of her husband but was fine in her underwear on tv!

Hope your funeral was ok :(

Hello Kyk

2frustrated 06-30-2006 03:53 AM

I had a nice kickbox last night. The scales aren't playing! :tantrum: I missed my 2 miler this morning because of a foot injury from last night. I thought I'd broken something, but it seems to have chilled out now, but I couldn't walk when I got out of bed at 6am! I'm going to thrash myself in the gym tonight, then get the earliest night... DF is doing his police stuff so I have the bed to myself :D

I've got stupid conjuctivitis in my left eye, it's all pink and horrible and squinty. Gah! Maybe they'll let me go home early

Pachyderm 06-30-2006 05:28 AM

Good morning everyone,

Hope your foot and eye get better soon Frus. I am very tired this morning, for some reason I got completely engrossed in watching a programme on BBC4 late last night about some lady who wrote a cookbook. I was just flitting channels and I don't know what happened but I just seemed to get hooked by this programme - very strange :dizzy:

Anyway, I have had to put my running aside for a while as I have injured my knees. Tomorrow I'll try getting on my bike and see how my knees feel when cycling, I'd hate to loose all the fitness I've gained so far.

Anyway, hope everyone has a good day. I'm triple-checking figures all day today so I'll have to work extra hard not to fall asleep at my desk ;)

Sarah Ann 06-30-2006 05:51 AM

Must be something strange in the air... I woke up this morning with a sprained wrist - which is strange because I didn't go to bed with a sprained wrist. How can you sprain your wrist in your sleep???

I had a lovely rest day yesterday - just a walk on the beach at Cleethorpes so the dogs could do some ball chasing in the waves. I think George was glad of a rest from the running up hills as well.

I'm annoyed about the wrist, it was supposed to be an UBWO day for me and I've even got to walk to work this afternoon because my wrist hurts too much to use my bike. :(

2frustrated 06-30-2006 05:54 AM

Oh dear - poor wrist!

I'm so :censored: off with the scales, just getting depressed about it. :tantrum: I don't know what else I can do apart from throw them out of the window??? ;)

Sarah Ann 06-30-2006 10:50 AM

Why? What are the scales doing? Staying still or going upwards???

Don't panic!

Could it be hormones? Not enough water?? Take a good look at what you're eating - cals in / cals out - and if everythings okay then don't get hung up on what the scales say. I've given up with mine - DH dropped them when he was decorating and I haven't bothered replacing them yet. I did try them out but it is EXTREMELY unlikely that both DH and I weigh 8st!

The wrist seems to be a bit better now... well, it doesn't hurt QUITE so much. I decided to give UBWO a miss today anyway because I don't want to make it worse.

Its too hot to do work AT work so I just decided to exercise one of the incentives they persuaded me with when they employed me - I popped in and emailed myself a load of stuff I can do here instead of there and then did a bit of shopping and came home.

YP1 06-30-2006 02:23 PM

I'm having a quiet night in tonight, I'm going to prepare my amazing picnic for tomorrow later, so I've got lots of veggies and fruit and healthy stuff to snack on rather than being stuck with chips at the ground when I get to London. Now I just need to find somewhere nice en route to aim for to eat it all :D

YP1 07-01-2006 04:15 AM

Right, I've been for my run (7 miles), made my lunch, had a shower and got dressed. I'm nearly ready to set off. I'm actually stupidly excited about spending the day on the M1 :dizzy: Hopefully we'll win and it will be worth it. The only thing I'm pondering waiting for before I set off is the postman, to see whether the new Runner's World is on its way!

2frustrated 07-05-2006 03:47 AM

Somebody tell me there's been more posts while I've been away on my course otherwise I'll get worried that I'm the only one who posts here :?:

2frustrated 07-05-2006 03:48 AM

That would be a no then!!!!!

I've been on a course, it was fab. The food was great - I had a carb frenzy, but meh - back to the gym and things today. :dizzy:

peacock 2 07-05-2006 04:14 AM
