June Chat - May is over!!!!
C'mon Girlies - it is now June and some of us are busting out all over!!
I must admit I have only just realised the date and now have a new Johnny Depp piccie to look at on my calender, yipee!:carrot: |
OOooh Johnny Depp is lovely! :val3:
This month i need to shift the 2 lbs i put on last month  |
He is my precioussssssss!
|
Jumping june? um maybe not lol...
heres to more good losses... !.. lx |
Ooooh yeah it's June
I have woken up from my reading-induced nap! I was reading BfL and fell asleep for an hour or two. :D I feel ok now, I need my contacts in so I can read BFFM on the latop without lapsing back into headache land! I'm not kickboxing tonight, I thought I'd have a rest, plus if I wanted to go I would probably pass people from work on the road... So I decided it's not the best idea! I'm going on Saturday though while I drop my bike off for its tyres changed. More :censored: expense! Gah! :tantrum: |
Jelly Tots are the way forward :D :D
|
Jelly Tots? Do they still make them?
I was rather excited to see tooty frooties the other day... MInd you jelly tots will have gelatine in so a no go area for me now. |
Gelatine free sweets - what a pain - we can put man on the moon, sell clothes to people in Wales from the comfort of our living room, and bake a loaf of bread on our kitchen cabinets in a box in less than 2 hours, but can you buy decent gelatine free marshmallows without trekking to every shop in town??? I'm not a veggie, but I have friends who are Muslim, Jewish and veggie/vegan, and it's just so tricky to buy sweets! There is a good Kosher deli near where I used to live, which was fab for veggie sweets!
I'm very giddy today!!! Must be the caffeine!!! :D :hyper: |
Good morning giddiness :D Are you getting excited about the race??? I'm seriously untrained :( I think I'll be ok though, I'll just have to do my best.
I have been to the dentist this morning - he congratulated me on my lovely clean teeth :D Which is amusing, since I only really brush about every other day! I do have an electric toothbrush which may be the reason! My headache is gone - that whole day of sleep yesterday did the trick - I feel quite giddy today too and I haven't had any caffiene yet! DF is away for the weekend, which means I get to go to :yoga: tonight after a brutal 2 hours in the gym :D Then tomorrow I am taking the bike for tyres while I am kickboxing, then I think I will treat myself to the cinema - I might see that United 93, but I'm not sure. On Sunday I am going to batch bake and shop for healthy food and plan the week's food in advance. :hyper: :sunny: |
G' morning - isn't it lovely today!
I had three glasses of wine last evening and I think I've got a :headache: hangover. The meeting about the development of the area of land behind our house went as well as it could have. The owners have had talks with the Council about planning permission but haven't put in for it yet because of the restrictions and requirements the Council have put on them. The area of land they are thinking of developing is much bigger than we originally thought and is (apparently) just part of the proposed regeneration of this area. I'm pleased about the regeneration of the area, sad about the development of a lovely haven for wildlife - and furious that its happening at the bottom of my garden! I had a LONG conversation with the woman who runs the regeneration partnership who just happened to be there at the same time as me - and she offered me a part time job! It can fit in whatever hours I like so long as I do a minimum of 10 hours, maximum of 20 hours a week (thats all they've got funding for) - and, because of Doris the wonder-computer, I could do some of those hours at home! I'm going to spend an hour with them one day next week to see if I like it. I can even take the dogs with me if I like! |
Oh - I forgot to say.... I got a comment on my blog yesterday from a Body for Life purist/fundamentalist - telling me that I'm doing too much exercise! She said (basically) that I won't get the results I'm expecting because I haven't kept strictly to the exercise as set out in the book. (I do extra walking with the dogs and extra abs exercises.) She also told me that I eat too much.
I've deleted the comment because she was quite rude but I'd really appreciate other peoples' opinions. :) There are some strange people out there! |
Ignore the sad cow. It is what works for you.
|
She's probably jealous because she doesn't do as much exercise as you do!
As for the job :bravo: That sounds brill! |

Thank you - I needed to hear that. It doesn't take much for me to question what I do because its so new to me and I'll take advice from anyone as long as there some sense in it somewhere - but her advice just sounded a bit strange to me.
I've got to the point where I'm not so fussed about losing weight, I'm just happy to be getting fitter and if losing weight is a side benefit, then thats nice too. (Hope this makes sense.) Does anyone have a cure for woman eating midges... gnats... mosquitoes... whatever they are. They seem to target me and zoom in when I'm least expecting it. Tesco's insect repellent seems to attract them for some reason. |
Well you can always ask us (well, not me but those that know about exercise) - there are a knowledgable lot on here and you won't get any rude replies!!!
|
hi guys
what a miserable day outside - at least it's Friday!!!! I have had such a hectic week at work !!!! so does anyone have any special plans for the weekend??? |
If she gets in touch again then I will. I felt quite intimidated and my first thought was that I'd wasted the last 9 weeks by doing this whole thing wrong - but immediately after I felt silly about that because I know I'm fitter AND I've lost weight, so it can't have been a waste of time.
|
Bright sunshine here with a gentle breeze.
Plans for the weekend.... DH is working tomorrow but after than he's on holiday for a couple of weeks. :) :) :) :) So on Sunday we'll be having a long lie in ;) and a lunchtime country pub drink with friends followed by a BBQ back at their house. I've offered to supply salad, marinated chicken and sweet potato and veg kebabs - that way I can guarantee I'll be eating clean. |

She happend to mention she had a load of tofu so I volunteered her services! She lived in Japan and was a teacher there for some time plus although she is not veggie I lent her a veggie Japanese cookbook. It will be interesting (I have eaten japanese before but not often - can never get the hang of chopsticks - she might tutor me in that!). Mind you she is (in)famous for missing out ingredients and changing them to what she has so I will have to wait and see!! |
It was beeeeyuuuutifull here earlier - however now it's gone all cloudy! Never mind at least the gym is inside! :D
Plans for weekend - gym tonight with possible yoga, actually definite yoga, it doesn't take much effort at all and I might as well go as not. Tomorrow lunch bike gets new tyres while I get pounded kickboxing, then I will probably do some nice food shopping at M&S or if not then I will have gone to Waitrose before kickboxing. Saturday afternoon, some nice food with my e-book or one of the many books I have lying around to read. Saturday night I am thinking about taking myself to the cinema. I'd go with friends, but they're all busy! Sunday I am going to muck out the pigsty and create meals for the rest of next week. I'm so looking forward to having a weekend to myself! I can see lots of napping in my future! As for midges Sarah - you'll have to move back to the smoke! I haven't been bitten in years, but that's probably because I haven't encountered any midges for years! Roll on 4pm! I want gym! |
Aparently Avon's Skin so soft bath oil in the original woodland scent (the blue green one) is supposed to be good for that , well, mozzies anyway. Not sure if the rest of the range is alright or just the bath oil but I sprayed the body oil spray on when in Turkey and didn't get bitten.

How can she tell you how much you should be exercising?! You know yourself how much you should, no1 else can tell you differently! Everybody is different aren't they?
I think it's better if you're not too bothered about losing weight, that way you'll be pleasantly surprised if you do :) P.S had a BBQ yesterday and now have diahorrea! Don't think my veggie burgers were cooked properly...! |

My day has got even better, my friend has bought me the gorgeous blue shoes I saw in New Look I am truly blessed. The sun is still shining on me it is just obscured by cloud. Have a good day everyone Michele xxxxxxxx |
Sarah, I'll agree with everyone else. Ignore her!
I'm should have a nice weekend, I'm planning to get my jobs out of the way tonight and tomorrow morning, then spend the afternoon pampering myself in the bath before a friend's housewarming party tomorrow night (can anyone guess what I'll be wearing...), then the half marathon on Sunday morning (hence I'll be sober but sociable at the party) and seeing my grandparents for Sunday lunch/afternoon. I'm going to carb load on snacks at the party ;) I have to say that I'm so glad I bought the jeans! I've been wearing them almost continually ever since - for Spanish last night and for dress down day at work today. Not that I was particularly dressed down with my posh jeans and 4 inch red sandals, but I felt fab so I don't care! |
ooh red sandals I was so peed with this girl today I was in a vintage shop and she had this gorgeous vintage black dress on that was just above knee length with a sequin belt like middle on it, and black leggings underneath she was trying it on she had amazing red shoes on tis what reminded me. Anyway she was at least 5ft 8 and was built like a stick and she said to her friend that she couldnt wear it because it made her look fat. Fat she was like a stick she looked stunning in it. I couldn't believe it I was thinking bah and her friend who I think was jealous actually agreed with her and she didn't but it. It so didn't make her look fat!! ARGH well it annoyed me she was obviously insecure and just needed her friend to say she looked nice.
I've had such a clutsy day I'm hopeless YP I bet you looked stunning in your jeans and sandals theres nothing nicer than a really good pair of jeans. |

Ooh, it's a lovely day here! I've done some cleaning inside and mowed the lawn, now I'm planning to spend a couple of hours outside reading the paper and chilling before heading in to get ready for the party. I just hope it's not too hot to run comfortably tomorrow - I already have a sneaking suspicion that the poor people of Blackpool will be exposed to the sight of me in a crop top!
|
Blackpool is used to most things I think it can cope with a thin fit person in a crop top. :D Good luck for your half marathon.
Not that you need any luck obviously! |
Good Grief! :faint: Skinny jeans and a CROP TOP  You certainly have come a long way miss Helen :bravo:
I had a lovely morning - woke up early with the sun streaming in... Then I went shopping in Woolworths for Pepsi and a card for my kickboxing instructor and I picked up some fab n groovy food boxes, one has an integral ice pack, and I got three ice packs in funky colours for my lunch bag. THEN I got a text from one bridesmaid - she has managed to get her dress but it was the only one in her size and she bought the last wrap. Apparently Bhs aren't getting any more stock in! AAAAAAAAAARGH! So I decided to leg it down to Oxford Street after my lunchtime kickboxing lesson. So I had to deliver bike to garage, walk to kickboxing, then I was tortured for an hour and a half with 30 repetitions of many many kicks  It was a good job I took my L-glutamine (more on that later...) So after my lesson I picked up my bike-with-new-tyres and whizzed back home, did a quick change into my lovely thin, short, yellow, spotty Primark dress and yellow Topshop sandals :D and legged it back out to the bus stop. I power walked down Oxford St and threw a minor hissy fit on the poor assistant in Bhs! They dont have any teenage dresses left :tantrum: THAT'S THE ONLY REASON I CHOSE BHS!!!!!! THEY HAVE CHEAP TEEN DRESSES :tantrum: So I got the assistant to ring round just about every branch asking if they had this teen dress in Burgundy in an age 16... No luck! :tantrum: I am going to ring more stores tomorrow and keep scouting ebay. I will also check if any stores have a teen dress in gold, which would look nice with my burgundy gals if I can't find burgundy :tantrum: Then I bought nice tea in M&S (oh and lunch at 5pm!!!) and wholemeal wraps :D and I've collapsed on the sofa with BFFM and my mummy on the phone!!! *sigh* Last night I went to the gym, it were reet gud! I went to yoga too - I really worked quite hard in the gym, did legs and everything!! This week I've been taking L-glutamine which is supposed to help with recovery, I rate it pretty highly, however I missed kickboxing on Thursday and didn't have a HUGE workout on Wednesday, but I defnitely feel sore in a different way... like I can just feel my muscles working, rather than them hurting when they work! Well I will take myself off to bed soon - I think I need the rest! That is if the new :censored: who moved in downstairs on Thursday and promptly had his Sky dish up for noisy football watching shuts his :censored: cr@ppy music off soon. :tantrum: |
Do you have a picture of the dress? I live right near a BHS and pop across most days on the way into town I like window shopping I can always check whether they have it for you.
I used to work at next and they could reserve things from other branches and send them to your branch so I'm sure BHS should be able to do that if they have it in. |
And i'm willing to pop into Manchester and the Trafford Centre to look as well.
Shops! I bought the most gorgeous heels today. http://www.officeholdings.co.uk/perl...color_uid=6611 My "meet my parents" outfit is a black bodice top, a black skirt with white piping, and a black white edged cardigan. I wanted some black and white shoes, and I saw them yesterday, thought about them all night, and went back and got them today. I want to sleep in them!!! Help I'm turning into a shoeaholic! |
they are fab love them in the fuscia
|
I'm not far from a BHS either, just shout :)

Good morning
Oh what a gorgeous day, I am in the best mood. Last night two friends and I went to Milton Keynes a place I swore I would never return to after getting stranded there two years ago after a UB40 concert. Didn't we get lost again. We had one of those nights where you just laugh and laugh. We finished the evening off in a tapas bar the scales are showing ten stone six this morning but its probably water and I am due on, well thats what I am telling myself. My dress was a lovely fit, and I found a pair of gorgeous red shoes that i had bought a couple of years ago and never wore. It was lovely to be complimented. I just had a belgium chocolate for breakfast as you do and I shall follow that with a poached egg on toast. Kykaree I was chuckling to myself over my drunken post. Hope you aren't hungover or anything to day. The sun is shining life is good. Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone Michele x |
It was ten years ago I was stranded in Milton Keynes not two!!
I am not going back there either!!! |
Moo! That is what cats do (well, some of them!). I tis amazing how many cats are handed into sanctuaries cos of normal cat behaviour - killing birds, scratching furniture.
Mind you only our 'middle' cat killed birds - well, actually she played with them but obviously being baby birds - well it wasn't such gentle play. I remember having to finish one off with a spade. I looked up on the telegraph wire (or whatever it is called) and saw loads of birds looking down on me. She was also the only one that stratched the furniture. She was a demon, she used to look at us, then go over and 'pat' the sofa with her paw so we would tell her off. She was like a little kid, runing up to the sofa, patting it, then running off after we shouted at her!!! She did grow out of it. Our last cat was not very good at chasing birds but one very hot day I believe a pigeon fainted - probably into his open mouth and he did a "lap of honour" around the garden with it in his mouth!!! Well, did you cat sit or watch BB? When will Grace the Gracelesss Queen of B*tches be slung out the house??! |
I fed one of next doors, fed mine, shut the back door, left the other one out with the birds and watched BB. :D couldn't miss that could I!!
My 4 aren't that interested in birds (too darn lazy) ... phew but next doors is a little sod, my neighbour just said when they got back yesterday there was a dead bird on their bed :o ... guess who forgot to check and dispose of the bodies :dizzy: |
