Hi all

No hangover here :D I didn't really drink.....I had a gin and slimline tonic and a weird cranberry and red wine iced drink that looked like a slush puppy, and that was it. I did try to have a pint of Hoegarden but the pub ran out so I had a dandelion and burdock instead

I did eat like a baby piglet though, and have today as well, but have also been swimming, and on a four mile walk/run, so never mind. Back on the straight and narrow tomorrow.

veggie 06-04-2006 01:09 PM

I want a weird cranberry and red wine iced drink now. I'll have to stick with non alcoholic cranberry drinks that's all I have. :tantrum:

YP1 06-04-2006 03:17 PM

Ouch ouch ouch. That half was hard. It seemed far harder than the other one I did, even though the bit that killed me was almost exactly the same route. My knee didn't feel right before I started, but not "not-right" enough to not do it. As soon as I started running it felt fine, and up to about 7 miles I was on for under 1:50. Then it all just started to go wrong, I got a blister on my big toe and my thighs just started to fall apart. Not literally, but you know what I mean. My knee was fine, bizarrely, although I'm not sure whether altering my gait slightly caused the blister. I slowed down from there and ended up struggling back in just under 1:54. It was slightly faster than the one I did in February, but only by about a minute when I've improved my 10k time by far more than that over the same period. But it was the hottest weather I've ever run in today, which might help to explain it!

Then on to see my grandparents and eat tasteless processed rubbish. It's quite worrying when I'm sitting in their house craving a salad...

I'm currently sitting down with some fruit (to redeem my eating for the day) and wine (to relax my muscles...) before a long soak in the bath. I don't fancy doing that 10k on Sunday now though!

YP1 06-04-2006 05:06 PM

Aaahhh, my legs feel human again after a soak in the bath and a bit of blister attacking. Even better, I've discovered that my last half was a minute slower than I'd thought (I clearly don't read my own signature), so I took 2 minutes off rather than 1, which makes me feel better :D

kykaree 06-04-2006 05:46 PM

Poor YP, I hope all feels better in the morning......I'm sure the 10k will be fine, I'll be faaaaaaaaaar worse than you, so you can swan around feeling all superior in your posh jeans :D:D:D

I've jsut put a load of stuff on EBay. I have decided to have the day off after the 10k, and will spend the day packing and posting LOL.

impossible princess 06-05-2006 02:28 AM

Well I got back from work yesterday at 5 felt terrible all day at work hot sweats running to the loo every 2 secs etc but couldn't be bothered to walk home cos its 40 mins walk home and didn't really feel up to it. So stayed at work got home at 5 as my 40 mins took me an hour yesterday I felt that rubbish. Got home took some migraleve cos I had the worst headache, managed to chuck my work clothes off fell on the bed. Woke up at 6 this morning thats 13 hrs sleep clearly needed it. Feel a bit better but slightly headachy still I'm sure it was food poisoning thats the last time I'm getting takeout.

How is your blister now YP? Well done for your run if you are still improving on earlier in the year with a bad knee and bad foot you cant be doing badly at all.

peacock 2 06-05-2006 04:43 AM

Hope you are feeling better Princess!

I had a real senior moment yesterday - I got on the wrong bus to my friend's house and luckily had a mobile so was able to ring for directions! I felt such a plonker and of course I left a bottle of wine behind so had to get another one.

Had a very nice Japanese meal made by her. No sushi!! I am stick cr*p with chopsticks though!

Had a nice sit out in her garden with the bunny she is looking after which was dumped at the vets she works at. He/she is so sweet- a gorgeous lion head, a black one. Of course these are fashionable at the moment so every moron gets it for their only mildly interested kids and the bunnies then are left in a cage sat in their own waste. It makes me so angry! Anyway 'Thumper' as next door lady's grandchild has christened it, is having a whale of a time when let out in my friends rather overgrown garden. Must be like a jungle!!!

She canot keep it longterm as she is out such a lot. If only I was able to keep him/her!

veggie 06-05-2006 07:32 AM

Well done YP. :running:

Is it the big YP/Frus/Kyk 10k next weekend? Will there be pictures? :D I need details!

I been for medical...lots of fun...

impossible princess 06-05-2006 08:20 AM

Yes am feeling tons better today.

Bunnies are evil I'm genuinely scared of them they have scary noses where my parents used to work was in an area with loads of wild bunnies and i used to hate them when I was little.

Well all except my aunts next door neighbours bunny hes great. My aunt bunny sits him when they are away and he comes over hutch and all hes black and really cute. They've been bunny sitting him for a year and still haven't remembered to ask what his name is we call him sooty. The cat hates him she sits by his hutch and glares at him the whole time its great.

I wanted some ulcer tablets because i have the evil mouth ulcer from **** and couldn't remember their name used to have them on prescription but they are now available over the counter. Typically couldn't get hold of the parents (am sure I have an old box left lying about their house with the name on, I told someone about them last week and i know I knew the name them how come you only ever forget when you want some) so had to look like a fool in the pharmacy by saying I want some tablets and all I can remember is that the name begins with a C. But we found them yay and they are £3.75 over the counter now I used to pay prescription charge for them before so yay.

Does anyone know a nice chemical free way of getting nice white teeth?
Mine have gone horrid its all that tea and coffee I drink so I got some macleans whitening paste and I'm sure thats whats done the ulcers.

Hope the medical was ok veggie.

peacock 2 06-05-2006 08:30 AM

NOt sure it is the toothpaste - none of them are that strong!

Don't know of anything that would really help -maybe one of our 'natural' chicks can help.

I think it is. I have really sensitive gums and teeth and I always normally use collegate total as it was one of the only ones that didn't make my mouth kill, I swapped recently to aqua fresh and had no probs with that so though ooh maybe I can use any toothpaste now. But nope seemingly not. The collegate total plus whitening one does nothing to whiten up my teeth though.

peacock 2 06-05-2006 10:16 AM

have you tried Sensodyne? They do a whiteneing one now.

I am using that cos mine are sensitive.

impossible princess 06-05-2006 12:39 PM

Does it actually whiten though. THe only one reccommended by the British dental council or whatever they are is Macleans as actually having a significant effect.

peacock 2 06-05-2006 12:46 PM

Dunno. I am not helping myself but drinking coffe, diet cherry coke and red wine. Ho hum!

Franlky I am very sceptical about all of these whiteners.

micheleherts 06-05-2006 12:49 PM

Glad your feeling better Princess.

There is another gorgeous rabbit in this world my Kerry. Yesterday I sat
in the garden and she lay on the patio stretched out beside me. You
would just love her.

Glad the run went well YP hope your knee is good today. You look gorgeous in the jeans. That friend of yours you met for coffee that time will fancy you like mad in them!!!

I am going to the gym shortly.

All quiet on the birthday front I see

Michele

Moo :) 06-05-2006 03:06 PM

Yay a month since I gave up smoking :D :carrot: :D

YP1 06-05-2006 03:16 PM

Moo - well done on making it to a month!

Michele - the coffee bloke actually emailed me yesterday, although I'm not sure that either of us are looking for anything more than friendship.

Veggie - yes, it's the big 10k this weekend. I'm starting to look forward to it again now I can walk again... My legs have definitely improved over the course of the day, and I've just gone through a second round of blister treatment so hopefully they will be fine for the weekend too. I swam for 30 minutes this morning which helped, and I'm hoping to either do a shortish run tomorrow morning or 30 minutes on the bike if my legs don't feel up to it.

I've had horrible stomach ache all day, TOM has finally arrived (after about 6 months), it actually makes me feel better about my time yesterday as it explains some of the stomach cramps in the last 3 miles which I was putting down to a bad reaction to lucozade. I've been really tired too, because I got up so early yesterday I think so I've just had a bit of a sleep after getting home from work and before eating. I feel far better now.

kykaree 06-05-2006 05:31 PM

Glad you're feeling better. Sorry Aunt Flo had to turn up, but at least it's now and not on Saturday or Sunday. Mine is due any thime around now, but will probably wait until Sunday!!!

I'm getting very nervous. Only eight working days til I go to Oz. Oh my goodness.

I am having next Monday off to learn to walk again after the run, and to hopefully pack and send 12 EBay items I am selling!

2frustrated 06-06-2006 03:48 AM

 Hello hello hello!

Thanks for all the Bhs offers - on Sunday morning I rang round just about every store in the south and they were all sold out, one told me that they hadn't been able to get the dress in the size I wanted for about 2 months. I presume they have all sold out since the wedding range is coming to an end this month. Something else I didn't realise! In the end I bought an adult size 8 and another wrap so that if she wants, she can get thick straps made, or raise the chest a bit or whatever!

I am doing some neuro-liguistic programming like I read in an e-book about weightlifting. It seems to be working :chin: Basically you write out your goals in present tense - "I am so happy and thankful now that I weigh 10 stone" etc, then go over them twice a day, either read them or re-write them out! Well yesterday we went up to yorkshire with work and I had fish and chips for lunch. I ate half my portion of chips and stopped eating before I felt sick! THEN I didn't eat anything else till 8.30pm! We happened to be out in London, so we popped into O Neils for dinner, we had a big platter thing to share - quorn sausages, chips, onion rings garlic bread etc. I ate about 1 and a half quorn sausages, 1 piece of garlic bread, 1 onion ring and then stopped. I'm the greatest :D However, the scales are registering the bloating this morning! I feel very thirsty, so I'm sure that's it!

Kykaree, your outfit sounds lovely indeedy - I'm sure the parental unit will be bowled over!

As for bunnies - we used to have about 13 at one time, but all in all we've probably had about 20-30 through our hutches! We had a pair of dwarf(!) lops who were ENORMOUS and were brother and sister and bred, well, like rabbits! We ended up with 10 babies. Then we got a netherland dwarf, then another, then a black rex who was beautiful and abandoned and I loved her to bits! And then we were given another english rabbit, a black and white spotty thing, she didn't last very long since the rats got the best of her. Poor bunnies! Oh and we had another lop rabbit I forgot about, she was ginger and had crazy little bouncy ears and fell in the pond once! We also had a couple of squeely pigs too!

Righty ho, well anyway, today I am off to the gym and then off kickboxing :D Oh and I achieved my green belt with a "B" grade, only one other person got a B, everyone else (out of 35 graders) got Cs. Hurrah! Some people didn't pass at all! :(

Sarah Ann 06-06-2006 05:11 AM

Morning!

I've got DH at home on holiday for two weeks - its lovely having him at home but he's tiling the bathroom and needs more attention that a 2 year old.

We bought ourselves another BBQ yesterday - the bottom fell out of the old one. Luckily we were cooking foil wrapped trout on it at the time so we still got to eat it. :)

Ooohhhh!!!! I was complaining to my neighbour (not the chavs, the other side) that I have to go to the gym to do a proper leg workout because of the weight limitation on my bench - and he told me that he has got one of those large (expensive) York complete multi gyms - its got a leg unit - and he's not allowed to use it any more because he crushed his knee at work. He said that if I want to come and dismantle it that I can just have it - so I'll be sending DH round! (I don't do technical - if I took it apart I'd never get it back together again!)

Frus - did your Mum try the BHS stores up here. If they've got one in the Donnie / S****horpe stores - or any store in this area we'd be happy to go collect it for you.

I am so glad I don't get TOM any more. :) I only used to have them once every 4 to 6 months but when I did finally have one I'd get so much pain that I'd have to stay in bed for a couple of days and then stay at home for a couple more. Not the best way to impress an employer!

Your food sounds lovely but I can't seem to eat that kind of thing any more. We went to someone else's house for a BBQ the other day and the food all seemed very fatty. The 'starter' was all different flavours of sausages and DH had one of each flavour and I had a mouthful of each one (so I could comment on them) but I really didn't enjoy them because of the coated way my mouth felt afterwards. (I think DH had about 8!) I had one mouthful of a garlic bap which was so buttery that it all dribbled out down my chin (yuck) so I just had a peri-peri flavoured pork chop and salad and some unsugared strawberries and raspberroes without cream for dessert. Its so strange, the host and hostess both seemed in a real panic that I wasn't eating enough even though I really enjoyed what I had and felt full-up.

My DD used to have bunnies - one of them was EXTREMELY aggressive. It used to chase the dog and cat round the garden and always threw itself at the hutch door when we went to talk to it. It used to scare the :censored: out of me.

Frus - well done on your green belt! :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot:

2frustrated 06-06-2006 05:56 AM

 aggressive bunny! Poor leetle thing!

I tried Leeds, York (x2) and some other random ones like Hull and places. I think it's just that it's come to the end of the range. I am scouring ebay, but I think since the size 8 dress is bought, then she'll have to have that! Plus I think she'll be ok in it!!! She's age 12, 5'5", 31.5" chest, 27" waist and I can't remember the hips. Plus there's room to grow, so they can wait till September or sometime to have it altered. The dress does have straps too, so it will stay up, even if she doesn't have boobs to hold it up!

Fatty food usually upsets my tummy and makes me run to the loo, but yesterday I handled it very well. I think it's because I realised when I should stop, and perhaps that I don't eat fried food all the time a one-off is ok! And of course it didn't set me off on a binge, which is fan-tast-ique!

I am having an early lunch today, we are off to see someone with a hernia later. Mmmmmm mmm! So gym at half 11! WAHEY! :dancer:

peacock 2 06-06-2006 05:59 AM

Sorry, that tickled me "Off to see someone with a hernia later" I realise you probably mean a friend or family member but I had a mental picture of 2frus and family pointing at someone inflicted with a hernia!!

2frustrated 06-06-2006 06:03 AM

It's a client - they need a chair, but yes in the office we're all thinking, "Shall we go and stand and point!?" It's quite a large one, so we really have no clue what we're dealing with till we get there ;)

kykaree 06-06-2006 07:59 AM

Sarah you really should be more careful about your posts, some of us have to read them at work you know!!! Aggressive bunnies hurtling themselves at the hutch, and chasing dogs..........goodness me.

Well done on the green belt Ms Frus.

I'm starting to get really nervous about our lickle stroll in the park on Sunday, I dreamt I missed the train!

Sarah Ann 06-06-2006 08:10 AM

It did! It was a horrible bunny - when it was a baby it was very tiny and cute so DD called it Fiver after the runt bunny in Watership Down - not realising that the blummin thing would grow in to the bunny version of Rambo. The first time it escaped from its run it chased the dog (his own fault because he was instrumental in the rabbit's liberation) and after that the dog (a Yorkie) was terrified of it and wouldn't go out in the garden if it was out there.

Sarah Ann 06-06-2006 08:14 AM

I hope it cools down for your little stroll - I'm just back from a 2 hour walk on the Moors and it is VERY hot when there isn't any cover. I went a delicate shade of brick red even though I wore a white hat (yeah - I looked stooopid but I don't care).

kykaree 06-06-2006 08:24 AM

We'll have to remember the 15+ sunblock and caps. I have a feeling its gonna be a scorcher.

peacock 2 06-06-2006 08:54 AM

Sarah Ann- that was no bunny that was a fluffy pitbull!!

impossible princess 06-06-2006 09:18 AM

My flatmate has gone. I'll miss her but it is nice to be able to hang my washing anywhere in the house (I hate it in my room it gives me asthma and its a flat so no outside washing line) and its so much easier to keep clean if its just me.

peacock 2 06-06-2006 09:19 AM

Have you got one of those thingies you can put over the bath - an airer I think it is called?

veggie 06-06-2006 09:28 AM

How is everyone this   6.6.6  day?

peacock 2 06-06-2006 09:44 AM

Devilishly good thanks!

not got a bath :(

I've been putting stuff in the spare room on my standing airer but the roof was dodgy in there in the summer and its so damp that your clothes don't dry. She always used the top landing for hers so mine was in the corridor by my room and kept getting moved but now its out everywhere yay.

I bought some good stuff today we have a bargain place that sells proper chinese food so I got the chinese equivalent of pot noodle that actually taste like noodles and are better for you, great for a quick snack and they were only 20p each. and they are veggie. I got a sweet n sour chicken (not really chicken obviously) and a hot and sour. I also got this gorgeous couscous, its couscous with lemon its really nice and for the life of me I can't get mine to taste like that when I make it from scratch. Thats also good for you and is only 40p.

2frustrated 06-06-2006 10:37 AM

Oooh yes, sunblock - I don't have a cap :( A shopping trip to Primark coming up methinks!

2frustrated 06-06-2006 11:49 AM

I feel :barf:

:barf: :dunno: Maybe it's those fish and chips working their way through :barf: Maybe it's because of 666!!! Anyone going to see the Omen tonight?

impossible princess 06-06-2006 11:53 AM

Oh no hope you feel better soon.

They have got some really nice caps in my primark so hopefully they have in yours too.

YP1 06-06-2006 03:13 PM

It looks like it will be hot at the weekend, not ideal running weather. Particularly now I'm having crop top doubts (I've seen my pictures from Sunday and I didn't realise my stomach got quite so flappy when I run. It's not a pretty sight!). Lots of suncream will be needed I think!

I've had a good day today, I found my running shoes reduced on the internet so I've ordered a new pair (which I badly need anyway), hopefully they'll arrive soon. I managed a 4 mileish run on the treadmill this morning which I was very pleased with. Those Compeed blister plasters are fantastic - I could barely feel the blisters from Sunday, and even though I only intended to run 3 miles I got to about 2 and my legs really started loosening up and feeling good so I carried on for longer than I'd intended.

And I booked my next trip to see my parents today :D I'm so pleased that I've got something sorted, it's just over a month away. I had to wait for my boss to decide when she was going away and even though I couldn't go the week I originally wanted the week I'm going doesn't work out too badly for fitting round other stuff I'd already got planned.

I've been feeling a lot perkier generally today which is good news. My extra bit of nap last night really helped. I think I'm going to have an early night tonight and then get up half an hour earlier so I can fit in my 6-7 mile run tomorrow morning, I usually do 5 on a Wednesday which I have time for but the training programme is building up so I need an extra 20 minutes or so to fit it in! Then I might go to a party at my Spanish place after work, depending how I feel.

2frustrated 06-07-2006 03:50 AM

I know, some  said that it might reach 30 degrees at the weekend! :faint: I must bring plenty of water! I might superhydrate on Saturday!

I missed kickboxing last night cos of :barf: and I just wanted some time to myself. I got home and made some stir-fries for our lunches, then wallowed in a nice bath with my book :D

impossible princess 06-07-2006 06:08 AM

well girls you all inspired me and I did some laps round the park this morning. THe bad news is my face burned. So I'm now all red. I don't get it I always use factor 40 (I'm a red head I really really burn if I don't) on my face and factor 20 or 25 everywhere else but I've just burned on my face. All I can think is that I sweated the sunscreen off but didnt anywhere else.
Will have to wear a cap next time. (i hate running in caps) it felt really good other than the burning face though.

peacock 2 06-07-2006 06:18 AM

Princess - I think you have the answer right there!

When I went to Egypt I bought factor 40 but did not know about watrproof sun cream - in fact I don't think they did it then.

Sweat runs off me in UK so imagine I was a sight for sore eyes in Egypt! I got some blisters on my chin and had to go to a pharmacy for some cream. I was trying to ask for anti histimine (nothing wrong with their English, but mine had disappeared and I am a native English speaker!!!) I kept wanting to say ani hysterectomy but I knew that was wrong!! Luckily they know what to give me!!!

I now use waterproof stuff but still reapply all the time.

Maybe also change the brand? Some are absolute cr*p despite their claims. One paper did a test in one of their Sunday magazines and some of the most expensive were absolutely no good despite all their claims.
