The job sounds really interesting. :goodluck: for tomorrow, I'm sure the ballgown will help :joker:

YP1 06-14-2006 02:03 PM

Go Kylie!!! I just have a picture of a hamster running alongside you now though ;)

I had a really good workout this morning, I got up early and ran 5.67 miles then had a 30 minute swim. Tomorrow is an "easy" 3 miler, I think I might run from here rather than the gym so I don't need to cart my gym stuff to Spanish after work for a change.

Good luck with the job Sarah.

micheleherts 06-14-2006 02:32 PM

 I took a much needed day off yesterday - but I did have a good walk round London - I found Tiffany's and we stumbled across a private show at the jewellers next door - there must've been celebs since there were paparazzi outside, but I didn't see anyone famous enough for me to recognise!

Tonight is double :boxing: - I'm still a little sleepy!

Oh I ordered new running shoes half a size bigger, so that I can start doing morning runs. That'll be next week!

We're off to Nice on Saturday for 5 days, so won't be back till Weds night, conveniently I only miss my teaching class and 1 training class! :boxing: :D I am going to take my new trainers so that I can take some little runs along the beach! :beach:

peacock 2 06-15-2006 08:05 AM

Oh Sarah Ann I do feel a fool! Whe you said Lizzie I thought you meant Queen Elizabeth II - especially when you mentioned about not being invited in for a cuppa - which is why my cheeky reply was perhaps she is out dong her job!!

Your post just now saying how 'Lizzie' was dressed I still thoght it was QE2 but then looked back and realised it was snooty wife you meant!

That is two stupid thing sI have done this week. I just sent an email back to someone and it was about a leaving do and copied the leaver in on it. I was replying about something else!!!! Hide me someone!

2frustrated 06-15-2006 08:28 AM

peacock - we were talking about Lizzie as in QEII when kylie was annoyed that she hadn't been invited to tea... Then when Sarah described this woman, I was comparing her to "Lizzie" too! So not to worry chick! :D

peacock 2 06-15-2006 08:47 AM

It's a conspiracy!! You are all trying to drive me mad!!!

Well, just for that, this lottery winner will not share her winnings with any of you!

Anyway I have just spent nearly £5 of the £7.50 Euro lottery winnings on my lunch so there!!!

It won't change my life, that is for sure!!!

Sarah Ann 06-15-2006 11:23 AM

I've just had a lovely lunch courtesy of my new employers. They took me to a very cute pub next to a pretty river (or could have been a canal) where we sat outside and I had a diet coke and a large salad with lots of prawns and a couple of Jersey Royal spuds. The homemade garlic and lime mayo dressing came up in a separate pot so after a little taste I didn't bother with it. Yum! Dessert was mixed berries which was mainly strawberries.

Apart from that the whole thing went well, I'm going to start off with doing 1 to 4 on Tuesdays and Fridays and they've roped me in with some funding presentations and the funding 'surgeries' which occasionally take place in the evenings which introduce groups in the local community who need grants or repayable funding to individuals, societies, banks or companies who have money available).

I'm off to the gym with my Chav neighbour :( :( - she was chatting up DH (as usual) and asked him if she could come along to the gym next time he goes because she's depressed and thinks working out will help. He invited her along this evening (not mentioning that I was going) - then decided to stay home and watch the footie - leaving me on my own with her. :censored:

2frustrated 06-15-2006 11:34 AM

 Oh dear...

Should you suggest a competition?? See who can walk the longest? I'm sure she won't be coming again once she sees how fit you are!

peacock 2 06-15-2006 11:43 AM

"Working out with someone else's husband" eh? we know what that means don't we?

Trust hubby to weasel out but at least he did not go without you!!!

veggie 06-15-2006 02:12 PM

Eng ger land Eng ger land Eng ger land :dz:

The streets will be a nice place tonight with people drinking since 5

Maybe they'll all fall asleep... probably in the middle of the road...

That lunch does sound nice Sarah :T Apart from the prawns obviously :p I don't think I've ever had a prawn!

Kyk don't leave ussssssssssss you don't need to see your family or friends :chin:

veggie 06-15-2006 02:17 PM

 My sig has turned chav. :o

Sarah Ann 06-15-2006 02:29 PM

Why has your sig turned chav?

Well.... back from the gym. Never again! For someone who's about a size 12 she is incredibly unfit. She kept on moaning about things.... her feet.... her hair.... her feet.... her red face... her feet.... her make-up running.... her feet.... arghhhhhhhh!

After 30 mins of her whinging I gave up and said I couldn't cope with the :censored: awful music they play there - so I turned my iPod up high and ignored her. When I finished my workout she was sitting on the floor drinking coke looking :censored: off - I doubt she'll want my company again :lol3: :lol3:

All the way home she yacked on and on about my DH - I'm going to have to do something about this but I'm not sure what. Any ideas??

YP1 06-15-2006 05:43 PM

The streets were horrid, I made the mistake of trying to get to Spanish at just the time the football finished, and my normal route is past the place where it looked like there must have been a big screen from the number of people streaming out.

The bus home was fun too :(

On the other hand, my new Spanish teacher is absolutely mad, but possibly the best one I've had so far.

3.7 miles this morning, rest day tomorrow. And shopping for a weekend of cooking, I didn't do any last weekend with going to London so I'm looking forward to cooking proper food again.

veggie 06-15-2006 07:10 PM

Sarah my sig has an Eng ger land flag. :p Or are you asking why it's there? I'm easily confused.

I had to close the window early all I could hear was drunks playing football and Eng ger land chanting. I do not like that!

I can only imagine what the bus was like YP, I had the worst bus journey ever once in Newcastle with football 'fans'. Oh and my worst coach journey ever was from Newcastle with drunk football fans as well.

kykaree 06-16-2006 12:58 AM

I stayed home and packed!!! My case isn't big enough, it can't be that I've packed too much stuff!!! Oh well, at least I can't buy anything when I'm over there :D

I'm getting realy excited now :hyper:

I'll be back though, promise!!!

YP1 06-16-2006 01:11 AM

I can't believe it's come round so fast, hope you have a really lovely time. I bet you buy stuff though ;) :D

Sarah Ann 06-16-2006 01:59 AM

Have a great time, Kylie.

Veggie, I didn't notice your sig - you need to find yourself a bigger St George's flag.

DH tells me he got so excited by the footie that he cheered and jumped around at the second goal and scared the wits out of the dogs. When I got home they had taken themselves out in to the garden and were sitting there looking very worried.

I finally weighed myself after my two weeks 'holiday' and I've gained 4lbs - which is strange because I haven't eaten anything like that amount of extra food and I've exercised a lot - but during the same time I've lost some inches because I can finally fit in to a beautiful pale pink linen Next size 16 skirt I bought myself a few months ago - in fact its actually quite loose round the waist. DH is looking embarrassed - he says he dropped the scales while tiling the bathroom.

2frustrated 06-16-2006 03:43 AM

Kylie... You can always buy another suitcase... ;)

Sarah :censored: MEN! Maybe you should get him to buy you an all singing all dancing pair of scales?

I do like the chavvy sig veg ;)

Well we were let out early for good behaviour yesterday and I got to kickboxing about half an hour early - most of the roads were clear!

I am now sporting a bruise the size of Mars on my right knee - just in time for my :beach: holiday - check out my lovely green legs! I also got a lovely dead leg from instructor Lee :tantrum: and I impressed some Ju Jitsu guys who were visiting! :D They reckoned I could whoop all their girlies' asses (probably all at the same time!!!) They were very impressed! I now want to go kick *** at ju jitsu too! :hyper: Lee says we can go in a few weeks! :D

Nice tomorrow :D I need to pack when I get home, so I won't be going to the gym unfortunately  I think I am taking a nice well-earned rest from exercise while I'm there. I am going to continue to eat healthily (which will be a first on holiday) I just have to make the right choices and not eat too much french bread and cheese! :o

peacock 2 06-16-2006 04:08 AM

Remind me never to upset you 2 frus!!

SarahAnn your neighbour sounds a right pain always going on about your hubbie. If she is not still sulking about "your behaviour" at the gym then maybe the next time she goes on about him you could say something about her mentioning him a lot, then she knows you are on to her.

Sarah Ann 06-16-2006 04:49 AM

Peacock 2 - I'm used to it. We all know she does it and she knows that we know - in fact the entire road and all her friends knows she does it - the only person that doesn't find it embarrasing is her. Her partner first told me what she was doing just after we moved here and he has told/asked her to stop but she can't seem to help herself.

DH and I have talked about it and decided the best policy for peace all round is to just ignore the flirting and move the conversation along as soon as it starts- but I do notice that he avoids her whenever possible nowadays.

2frustrated 06-16-2006 05:25 AM

I just scared one of the guys at work with my bruise! I'm wearing a knee-length dress too! Just to show it off! Well it is hot...

Pachyderm 06-16-2006 05:33 AM

It's really stressful when you have a neighbour like that though. I suppose its good that it's not just you, but your husband also annoyed about it. It could be worse. If it gets really bad, I would probably just sit her down and talk to her, perhaps you and your husband together, but I would need a good shot of dutch courage beforehand!

Everyone is going away, I hope you all have a great time

2frustrated 06-16-2006 05:35 AM

Sarah - I'm glad your husband is aware and is not interested and the two of you can talk and laugh about it! At least you know that nothing's going to happen and it's just annoying rather than threatening!

Can't you get DH to be really horrible to her one day - put her off. You could get him to say, "Well I heard you didn't fair too well at the gym. My Sarah's SOOOOO much fitter than you, eh?"

Pachyderm 06-16-2006 05:41 AM

What if she then starts going to the gym regularly! Poor Sarah would have to put up with even more of her!

2frustrated 06-16-2006 05:43 AM

I doubt she'll go back... Something tells me she was just going because a certain other person was going!

Sarah Ann 06-16-2006 06:38 AM

No, we don't want to do anything to rock the boat. Apart from her, we like living here and now that DH understands what she's doing its a lot easier for me to handle. Luckily he's completely not interested - the problem is that he is good looking and friendly - but he doesn't know that he's good looking and she misinterprets the friendliness. We have almost stopped socialising with them now - we only ever invite them here or accept invitations there when its a BBQ with other people present.

I can live with it.

Pachyderm 06-16-2006 08:43 AM

I almost forgot to say, I went into a running shop yesterday evening and bought my first pair of proper running shoes :carrot: . The guy wanted me to run on a treadmill in front of him, and I was so embarrassed with my arse wobbling all over the place! He was very friendly though and made no comments/looks about me being too overweight to do this, which I know was unlikely, but I still expected it for some reason.

My hairdresser also asked if I'd lost weight, I know he was just being smarmy because of his job, but it still felt good. With my fab new hairdo, I just waltzed through town with my hair bouncing up and down, my stomach held in and a smile on my face - fantastic.

2frustrated 06-16-2006 08:49 AM

I find running shops the most intimidating place, but the staff in them are usually so lovely. I was actually sweating buckets the first time I went to buy trainers, and I didn't really want to go in at all!

Sarah Ann 06-16-2006 12:29 PM

Strange - I don't mind people like that but I find hairdressers intimidating...

YP1 06-16-2006 02:35 PM

I'm getting more used to running shops now, although I still ordered my last trainers off the internet rather than going in there... The worrying thing is that I tend to find more than I want to buy in a running shop than in a normal shop at the moment! Kylie can vouch for how excited I get when I see a shop selling running stuff...

It will be quiet round here next week with Frus in France and Kylie in Aus!

I popped into a leaving do on the way home from work but couldn't be bothered with drinking without eating so came home, went to stock up on veg and I'm settling in front of the tv for the evening. I've got a couple of longish runs over the weekend (I think it's 7 and 13 miles) so I don't want to be hungover! It's worrying when I'd rather run than drink... I planned my meals this morning so I had my shopping list handy on the way home. Lots of nice food to look forward to over the weekend now :)

I really must put some stuff on ebay this weekend and do some cleaning and tidying. Dull but necessary.

:smoking: :smoking: :smoking: I've also been looking at flights to Amsterdam...

kykaree 06-16-2006 04:10 PM

I've been looking at flights too, will have to wait til after Oz though. I can't wait, I am scarily excited. Got a 10k planned for the beginning of September in Glasgow as part of my training. I wanted to do a 5k in August, at the beginning of August, but I can't find one locally, and I think the travelling budget is getting a little stretched

I'm nearly packed, well apart from the ironing staring at me. I managed to find all my bits of documentation and that's all packed. And my running stuff!

I was terrified going into the running shop. I really hated the whole experience, apart from the lady helping me. She was really nice. I'm going to go and get fitted again after I come back (if I can't talk the mother into buying me some running shoes in Oz hehehehe).

I love going into sports shops. Nothing nicer than a new tank top and a nice pair of gym trousers!

micheleherts 06-16-2006 05:44 PM

Good evening everyone

Oh god I have eaten everything in sight today. On Friday's the drug reps bring
in loads of goodies. I have eaten like a pig, I have taken this food fest into
the evening. No exercise just the stress of my two boys constantly fighting
added to that the youngest fella has his friend staying, and work being a bit crap too. A long story which I won't bore you with.

I havent been to the gym in almost two weeks which is very unlike me. I have
walked though but not enough to break a sweat!!!

Have a lovely time back home Kykaree, and Frustrated enjoy France have a fantastic time come back to us safely.

I intend letting it all hang out in my garden this weekend, and eating only healthy food.

Loved the photos of the 10k run.

A big welcome to the newbies here.

Anyway I shall say goodnight and godbless.

Michele

YP1 06-17-2006 02:44 AM

aaaarrrrgggghhhh

Less than 100 days til Berlin:yikes:

Best get out for a bit of :running: :running:

YP1 06-17-2006 05:17 AM

Right, 6 miles at marathon pace done on the :tread: . 10k to be accurate. The sun seems to be trying to come out so hopefully if I get some inside jobs done I can sit in the garden this afternoon and veg out a bit.

Sarah Ann 06-17-2006 09:49 AM

Right... try again.... (every time I've visited 3FC today my 'puter has crashed!)

All you runners have got me feeling lazy so, after I've finished this 12 week BfL Challenge (which will be at the end of next week) I'm going to introduce some running in to my cardio schedule. I'll probably fall flat on my face! It'll just be treadmill stuff at the gym at first because the dogs won't let me run when I'm with them (they panic).

In fact I'm having a big shake up of my whole timetable generally - I thought re-arranging my exercise would be easy then I realised that I'm also working a couple of afternoon each week, plus possibly doing some of that work at home, then theres my eBay selling, then DH told me he's going to have a permanent shift change (not nights, thank goodness), I've also committed myself to do some one-to-one with three young adults with reading and writing difficulties AND, because of the birthday bike, I'm now able to get to the gym and swimming pool on my own - so I can do a decent lower body workouts there and get in some swimming for one of my cardio workouts.

Then, just when I thought I'd got it all settled in to a do-able timetable, I found out that theres a new twice a week circuit training class being started quite close to where I live. Its being funded through the organisation I'm going to be working for but the organisers are voluntary. Rumour has it that the woman who has volunteered to teach the classes is a newly retired top fitness consultant from 'darn sarf' who has retired to this area and has gotten bored with gardening. I don't much like working in groups so I might not want to do the class but I've got a LOAD of questions I would love some answers to - and they're only charging £1.50 a lesson to cover costs.

Just to make my upper body workouts a little more challenging I've decided to split them in to two parts, a) chest & shoulders on Mondays and b) back, triceps and biceps on Saturdays. I'm probably wrong about this but I'm hoping I'll be able to work the muscles a little harder if I don't do such long workouts.

Oh - and I accidentally signed up for a yoga class as well.

impossible princess 06-17-2006 02:26 PM

Well most of my stuff is on the move. I'm going to work tomoz and then going back home to sort it all out its so annoying I hate moving.

kykaree 06-17-2006 02:34 PM

I've ahd a lovely day, pretty quiet. I went and had my haircut this morning. I hate having my haircut!!! But the hairdresser I went to was lovely, and now I have a nice little crop. I am astounded by the shape of my face, it's completely changed......... I've been so busy these past few months I totally let my hair go. I shall have to be a good girl and keep on top of it!

I'm all packed, even down to the flying saucers that I'm taking for my niece! LOL

Now just the Brazil v. Australia game to get through tomorrow, and I'm on my way. I am getting very excited and nervous!!! Can we keep our fingers crossed that the new Health and Fitness is out in time for my plane trip!!! :D

YP1 06-18-2006 05:57 AM

Sarah - that sounds like a fantastic varied exercise programme!

I went out for what was meant to be a 12 mile run this morning, it turned into more of an 11.6 mile run/walk, I still managed it in 2 hours which wasn't bad, but there were times when I was just walking because I didn't feel like running rather than because I actually needed a walk break. I expected to go a bit slower because I had to read my route off a map (exploring new territory on footpaths like the Dales Way and the Leeds Country Way), and I had to open and close gates, climb over stiles etc. Hopefully it's just a one off and I'll feel more up for actually running for my next long run next Sunday - that one's meant to be 14 miles. I made it up to Harewood House and the Emmerdale set which I was quite pleased with, and it was nice to run through fields rather than round housing estates!

I'm tired now, I'm going over for the rugby in Wigan at seven, I was considering a bit of a day out on the way, but I don't know if I can be bothered. I might just pop into the Trafford Centre to see if they have the top I want and leave it at that. The weather isn't that great over here anyway, warm but not particularly sunny.

I need a shower and more food first though ;)

kykaree 06-18-2006 09:21 AM

I hope you had good luck at the Trafford Centre.

I've been swimming this morning, and had roast beef for lunch, yum! I'm getting all nervous now. This time tomorrow I'll be on a plane somewhere over the middle east!
