I think Green days isn't a good one for me, but it's convenient. I have IBS, so the green days are a ***** on my stomach. I am bloated all the time. I would love to have more red days... but I've gone from having meat every single day, to maybe twice a week. Craving it!
I'm going to have to think of red day foods I can have that can be prepared the day before, fridged overnight then microwaved in work. Other than home made spaghetti bolognaise I can't think of anything! Steak is rank micro'd... I'm not doing that again in a hurry.
I swore I wouldn't have a Jacket spud this week, but today I had a chicken from sainsburys rotisserie (was rank! Tasted like it had been sat in a mouldy cupboard for weeks ), ate about 2 tiny bits of it. AND a sodding Jacket spud. Apart from 3 stale rivitas, and a healthy extras bar, i've had nothing else.
Sodding starved!

This may be a dumb question but what are green days?

Mands - you ought to go and browse around the internet looking for information about the GI diet. You don't have to do the full diet but it will explain why you are hungry all the time, espcially while eating those jacket spuds. Spuds are high GI which means that they don't leave you feeling full up for very long. I found the whole GI thing really interesting and even though I'm counting calories I still only eat low GI foods with just a little amount of mediums. How about a mixed salad for a red day packed work meal - tuna, cheese, ham, egg, etc with perhaps a small amount of something like chickpeas or butterbeans mixed in.

Chloriform - Mands is on a diet which is very popular in the UK called Slimming World which allows two different eating patterns. Green days are mainly carbs and red days are mainly proteins with additional free foods and some healthy extras.

My parents are here again and I really can't face a run. I suppose I should though, or I won't make my 100 mile target for the month.

Weht to the rugby last night (we lost again ) and one of the stewards came up to me and commented! Plus some people I'm trying to avoid (long story ) didn't seem to recognise me which was good. We've not had a home game since early September so I guess the difference is more noticeable with the long break over winter!

I will probably eat like a piggy pig over the weekend and I'm not sure whether I'll persuade myself to run, but I might just call it carb loading and tapering for the half next weekend

I was watching an interview with the Catlan Dragons coach last night, and thought of you. I was expecting a nice French accent, and the guy had an Aussie accent worse than mine!!! He was nearly unintelligible!!

I've sorted my money out and am off to Up and Running this morning. I feel like I have FRAUD stamped across my forehead!!! Can I wear a T-shirt that says "fat people run too???"

I've lost 3lbs this week!!!

I am so pleased - I have really, really slogged on the exercise this week and have not cheated at all on the food. Now *all* I have to do is to repeat this for the next 22 weeks and I'll be down to my target. The chances of that happening are nil but I can dream!

Woo! I got out of bed and persuaded myself to do 6 miles. It was a lovely morning for running, so I'm glad I made myself do it. I feel far more virtuous now!

I'm also wearing my new size 12 jeans

Ah i'm not hungry all the time, but yesterday was a particularly rubbish food day for me. It's my own fault.

Going shopping today, gonna get me some Quorn, some tins of soup, just random bits and bobs so I can take it in work and micro it.

I will NOT live off of Jacket potatoes this week, I refuse!
Like your salad idea, I usually do a tiny amount of lettuce, tomato and cucumber... with a tiny amount of ham. I might try and vary salads.
So not adventurous me!

6 miles... wow. I'm in awe.

And go you on the size 12! I couldn't even get my big toe in the leg of a size 12! And I can't picture myself ever actually getting my bum in it either!

Yes, it seems like such a long journey ahead - but YP, Frus and the other big losers on this website show that its possible - so we can do it too.

There used to be a woman who used to post on this MB who lost about 15 stones. I can't even remember her name! She kept a diary of her life at that time which was pretty amazing. I'll see if I can find it - perhaps Veggie might remember her name?

I found it, its at:
www angelfire com/al3/hillaryandali/alisdj.html
(fill in the spaces with dots). I got it wrong - she lost 202lbs. It makes interesting reading. I wish she'd gone on to say how she's getting along now with maintaining.

hello all! Well done YP! Size 12 jeans I hate you

Sarah, well done with the 3lbs that's excellent

Mands. keep trying and experimenting with your food. We all have bad days (yesterday for me, for example!!!)

Er, yeah I had McCoys and a double Milky Way and I was hungry because I hadn't eaten enough! I'd been trying to "save" my calories for the chinese takeaway we were going to have. BAD IDEA! I will eat normally all day next time (er today!) and then just have a small piece of whatever it is. Oh and we also had kettle chips and mixed nuts and rasperry tarts and caramel cup cakes. Oh dear oh dear oh dear! At least I burned off my chinese by kickboxing this morning!

Just had bacon and eggs in a pita and a raspberry tart! But it's all in fitday, so I can make it up with a protein shake!

Oh and Angeleyes, I'm not low carbing, since I ate crunchy nut cornflakes for breakfast, tooty fruities at the gym and a pita bread and a raspberry tart for lunch! I am Dr Atkin's worst nightmare! I considered South Beaching for a while, but I read the book and CRIED because I thought that would be the only way to lose weight and I knew I'd never be able to go on South Beach because I wouldn't be able to eat bread for however long! I was so naieve!

Plan for today, Supermarket shopping (even though Df doesn't want to, but there's NO CHEESE or bread or Milk, so he won't be able to eat for the next week if we don't go shopping!) and possibly draining the oil out of my bike. If I drain it overnight, it will make sure I change the oil tomorrow since I won't be able to get to work! Oh and then we have a friend coming round for pizza. Another reason to go to Sainsbury's!

Tomorrow I'm experimenting and batch baking with my big bags of egg whites that really look disturbingly like urine samples! Oh and I want to get my website up and running and I also want to sleep. For a very very very long time!

Have a lovely weekend all!
